It had been days and Quinn was slowly losing her mind. A restraining order had been filed not that she trusted that would be effective. She couldn't go into work. She had cleaned Connor's house from top to bottom more times than she could count.

"I can't just sit here" She groaned flopping down onto the couch

"So, let's go out" Kelly told her moving her legs so he could sit down and placing them back over his.

Quinn leaned up on her elbows.

"You know I'm not supposed to be out in public right?" She asked

"I got an invite to a party at a house, invite only" He told her "I can keep an eye on you, you shouldn't be cooped up in here all the time"

"You're right I'm not under house arrest" She nodded.

"You should still let Jay or Voight know" He told her "And let them know I'll look out for you"

Quinn knew they would say it was a bad idea and they might be right, but she was on the verge of snapping.

It was nice to curl her hair and dress up she thought as she applied her red lipstick. She had picked out a black bodycon dress that Gabby would be proud of and put on a pair of heels.

"Wow" Kelly said looking up from the couch as she walked back through.

Quinn rolled her eyes and threw her keys in her purse.

"So, who is this friend?" She asked, "The same one who was the reason you got up an hour before your last shift?"

"His name is Travis" He replied "He parties for a living; he knows how to have a good time so you can have fun for a night"

Kelly linked arms with her as they walked outside to get in their Uber. She knew the officers would be following them. It was the only way Voight would ok things, but she was sure that was coming from Jay. She didn't think Biff would hurt her. He wanted to intimidate her, but she didn't think he was a physical threat.

"Are you sure it's ok to bring me?" She asked as they walked through the front door.

The party was in full swing. Quinn noticed straight away it was mostly beautiful half naked women and tried not to roll her eyes.

"Of course, it is" He replied squeezing her hand "We're going to have a good time"

"Yes Sir" She laughed giving a mock salute.

Quinn followed Kelly's eyeline over to the kitchen where a tall man with dark hair and a beard was waving him over. She was pretty sure that must be his friend. Another good-looking guy just giving off that confident aura with girls hanging around. They could have been brothers. Kelly took her hand to lead her through the crowd to the kitchen.

"You made it" The man said before looking Quinn up and down "And who's this?"

"Travis this is Quinn" Kelly said introducing them "Quinn this is Travis"

"I'm sorry Kelly didn't bring you around sooner" Travis told her "I didn't know he had a girlfriend"

"Roommate" She corrected "This is more his scene, but I needed to get out of the house and blow off some steam"

"Then we'll make sure you have a good time" He said handing her a drink.

"Thanks" She said taking a sip of the concoction "This is a great place"

She had no idea how Kelly could be so at home at a place like this, but he was already flirting with some brunette. She decided to take a look around. She didn't know what you had to do to have an apartment this big, but it was impressive.

"Quinn Fabray?"

Quinn looked round to the slightly shorter blonde who was dancing with her friend.

"Yes…" She replied cautiously.

"It's me Kitty" The woman told her.

"Oh my god Hi" She said "I didn't recognize you without the uniform and high pony"

"What are you doing here?" Kitty asked.

"I'm here with my roommate" She replied looking over to Kelly "What about you, I didn't know you were in Chicago"

Kitty smirked looking him up and down.

"I'm dancing in a video, some of the girls know Travis" Kitty replied "You seem a little lost come dance with us"

Quinn had always liked Kitty; she didn't think she was as evil as people said. If that was true it would have meant that she was evil. She related to Kitty.

"You look like you could do with another drink" Travis told her putting a hand on her shoulder.

Kitty followed her over to the kitchen and picked up shots of tequila.

"This isn't going to end well" She sighed knocking back the shot.

"You wanted a fun night" Kelly pointed out "Who's your friend?"

"Kitty meet Kelly" She said introducing them "Kitty went to my high school; I was her mentor for a week"

"I can't see it" He laughed earning himself a scowl.

"I gave birth control tips" She shrugged "And show choir advice"

"Quinn was a legend in high school" Kitty said "Every cheerleader wanted to be her"

"She doesn't need an ego boost" Kelly replied with a smirk putting an arm around her shoulder.

"So, what does the legend do now?" Travis asked

"I'm a doctor" She replied "Soon to be pediatric surgeon"

"I always thought you'd be a lawyer or a politician's wife" Kitty mused.

Quinn just shook her head with a smile. That was a lucky escape for her, it absolutely could have been her life. The wife option was her Mother's dream.

Travis had kept the drinks flowing. Kitty had convinced Kelly to actually move onto the makeshift dance floor. Quinn could feel it all going to her head.

"Are you ok?" Travis asked.

"I think I just need a little air" She replied trying to shout over the music.

Travis took her out to the balcony and shut the door over. She closed her eyes at the feeling of the breeze on her face. She was having a good time, but it was nice to hear herself think.

"So, what do you do Travis?" She asked leaning against the railing.

"This" He replied gesturing into the room "You haven't heard of me?"

"Should I have?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"It just makes a change" He laughed "So Kelly really likes you"

"We're just friends" She replied shaking her head.

"Well then I hope this isn't the last party you come to" Travis told her.

Quinn noticed that his elbow was touching hers. She stood up straighter ready to go back inside.

"I'm actually with someone" She replied "So I'm not sure I'll make it to anymore"

"Why isn't he taking you out?" Travis asked

It was a good question. She hadn't heard from Jay in days. She knew he was trying to keep her safe, but he wasn't giving her what she needed. Connor and Kelly were the ones who were there for her. Maggie and April were checking in daily. So were Gabby and Sylvie. Gabby had offered to bring Louie round for a visit to cheer her up. Even Will had taken time from wedding planning to bring beers over and check in on her. She'd sent him off with half of the bake goods she'd made, and Kelly had taken the rest to the firehouse.

"I think I need another drink" She replied walking back inside.

Kelly saw the look on her face and came straight over to her.

"Are you ok?" He asked taking her arm.

"You drink whiskey, right?" She asked grabbing the bottle with her free hand.

"I do" He nodded taking the bottle from her to pour two glasses "Now what's wrong?"

"Why isn't he here" She sighed.

"I don't know" He replied honestly "He's an idiot"

Quinn took a sip of whiskey. Her head was feeling a little fuzzy. She didn't know why she couldn't be with someone like Kelly. He liked to pretend he was a lady's man who played the field, but he was one of the most caring people she knew. She was aware of how close they were standing to each other. She looked up at him, his hand was still resting on her arm.

"Quinn" He said brushing a curl behind her ear "If I thought for a second you really wanted this"

He was right. She was just drunk and hurting. She really liked Kelly, but she loved Jay.

"You should go dance with Kitty again" She said shoving him playfully breaking the tension "Be careful she's a maneater though"

"Sounds perfect" He laughed squeezing her hand "Are you sure you don't want me to take you home?"

"I'll call Connor" She replied "Stay and enjoy yourself"

"Let me know when he's here and I'll walk you down" He told her.

Quinn was still feeling the effects of the shots she'd drank. She made her way back onto the balcony and pulled her phone out. She'd had every intention of dialing Connor but instead she dialed Jay's number. It had gone through to voicemail.

"You are such an ass" She said "You don't call for days, you're not there for me. I don't need you out trying to take down Biff I need you here with me. You're undercover with women hanging all over you. How far does it go with them? Or what that even part of it? I have all these questions and you're never around anymore. If you want to end it then just man up and do it instead of acting like to noble knight in shining armor. There's a perfectly nice normal guy who likes me and I'm at this party and all I can think about it how much I love you but how much I hate you right now, It's like you just stopped caring but you weren't brave enough to say it"

She didn't bother to call Connor. She ordered an uber and slipped out while Kelly was distracted with Kitty. She was angry at herself for getting emotional. She had worked hard to get to a place where she knew she didn't need a man in her life, but she had let Jay in, and he was making her feel as broken as Biff was. She knew she should just end things, but she couldn't.

The house was silent when she got back home. She kicked off her heels by the door and went to take off her make up before she went to bed. She pulled on Jay's t-shirt and hated herself for it. Her phone was buzzing on her bed, but she wasn't in the mood to answer it. She had just finished brushing her teeth when there was pounding at her door.

She jumped unsure what to do. She ran to her bed and grabbed her phone ready to dial 911.

"Quinn are you in there" A voice shouted through the door.

Quinn dropped her phone and ran to open the door. Jay was stood in the doorway and he looked angry.

"You just leave Kelly and get in a car by yourself" He said "You don't answer your phone"

She should have known Kelly would have seen her and called Jay. She felt a little bit guilty for making him worry. But she was annoyed that she hadn't spoken to Jay in days and he showed up just to yell at her.

"If you just came here to lecture me" She said closing the door over.

He put his hand on the door to stop it closing.

"You think I don't care" He demanded.

"Can we not do this in my hallway" She hissed sobering up a bit and becoming aware of the time.

She moved to the side to let Jay in and shut the door behind him. She ran a hand through her hair as he paced around angrily.

"How could you be so stupid" He said "What if something had happened to you"

"Look you can leave" She said putting a hand on her hip.

Jay looked like he was ready to say something else but instead he kissed her catching her off guard.

"You can't just shut me up like that" She told him as she was backed against the wall.

"Do you want me to stop?" He asked her.

She didn't want to think anymore. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back. She really hoped that Connor wasn't home.
