As soon as I got onto Route Six, who should I meet but Team Yell? And a very cute and very sleepy Silicobra. Unfortunately, they then tried to, lunically, keep me from waking it up. By battling me. Of course, they let another person through, but not me. Or Hop, when he showed up. Soon after, I engaged in combat with one of them.
The playing with Glumbreon paid off! Immediately, he fired off a Dark Pulse and took down the first trainer's Stunky. Next was Linoone, who, when our first round rolled around, Glumbreon still ignored me for the first three turns. Unfortunately, the first Dark Pulse didn't take it out, so we continued the fight. Another two turns of ignorance passed, and on the third turn, Glumbreon decided that it was a good idea to take a nap. Even after waking up two turns later, he still refused to fight for yet another SEVEN turns. Eventually, we got a bite off, and the first grunt was beaten. Then came the second grunt.
Right off the bat, Glumbreon nailed a dark pulse and brought the second grunt's Liepard into the red. It retaliated with Assurance, but Glumberon only took five HP of damage. Another two turns passed with ignorance, and Glumbreon got his accuracy lowered by sand attack. Worried about getting a missed attack, I switched out to Octoling and let her take a critical hit Assurance. She immediately used Slash, luckily, and the second trainer was down.
After the fight was over, Hop began complimenting me and Glumbreon on our performance. He then told me about what happened after the fight with Bede before leaving. At this point, Silicobra's sleepys were gone, and it slithered off.
And then Opal showed up. She gave me her league card and told me she would keep her eye on us before leaving.
Immediately after, I dashed back to the Pokemon Center and healed up before taking on the first trainer on the route. Or, at least, I thought I did. It turns out that I didn't, so immediately I switched out to Killer Frost. With a single super effective Metal Claw, I took out the Beauty Anita's Cleafary. Next came the Clefable, and Killer Frost stayed in battle. She pretended to ignore my orders the first turn, and got hit with a Metronome Shadow Sneak. The second turn, though, we hit another Metal Claw, and Clefable was gone. I rode back to the Pokemon Center and this time made sure that I healed up.
Once I came back to the route, I ran into a Yamask. Glumbreon immediately fell asleep, so Killer Frost took his place. In two turns, she did nothing, but on the third, a Night Slash struck the Yamask and took it out in a single attack. Afterwards, I used an awakening on Glumbreon to wake him up before coming to face the final unavoidable trainer on the route: Artist Duncan.
The first of his two Pokemon, Koffing, was a breeze. A single Dark Pulse from Glumbreon took it out. Next came Sudowoodo, who was also no challenge. Or so I thought. It's ability, Sturdy, saved it from a Dark Pulse, and the next five turns, Umbreon refused to battle. After that, though, an Assurance took out Sudowoodo, and we were off of Route 6 and in Stow-On-Side.
