Jayden had never felt something so intense and terrifying. It was an encompassing feeling that completely surrounded him.

It would have burned every nerve in his body.

If he had a body.

The blackness that surrounded him shifted. It took the shape of a grassy plain, with flowers of blue, red, pink, yellow, and even black.

Jayden walked through this field, feeling as though the answer was close at hand.

Suddenly a figure dropped down from above, a glimmering blade in hand.

Jayden jumped back, missing the sharp metal by mere inches.

And its owner merely laughed.

"You shouldn't tease the boy," a different voice said.

"I couldn't help myself," the man replied. "There's just so much freedom in this realm."

Jayden gasped at the figure. With such a joyous expression spread across the man's face, Jayden hadn't recognized him as Takeshi.

The other figure appeared as well, materializing from the aether like a phantom.

His face was concealed by a red mask.

A mask that seemed to be in constant flux.

It changed through various Rangers, most of which he didn't even recognize. Yet he could tell there was something wrong. The details were blurry and incomplete.

The figure put his hand on Takeshi's shoulder and said, "there is much freedom in the grid, especially once you learn to harness its raw energy."

That voice.

Suddenly it clicked.

"Gosei?"

"That is correct," The Red Ranger said. "This is my true form."

He looked down at his hand and watched as it wavered, glitching slightly.

"Partially at least."

"I don't mean to intrude," Takeshi said. "I wanted to thank you. You allowed me to pass on to and join the morphing grid."

He held out his hand and It began to glow with red energy. The energy reformed into a brand new action card.

Firestorm Inferno.

"I was able to concentrate some Symbol Power into your action card," Takeshi said. "Consider it an apology."

"Thank you," Jayden said and took the card.

Takeshi put his hand on Jayden's shoulder. "I hope it serves you well on your new path." With that, his ancestor faded away.

Jayden then turned to Gosei, whose helmet shifted to mirror his former Samurai Ranger one.

"I came here to bring you back."

"I know," Gosei said in a strange voice. "Unfortunately I can not come with you."

"Why not?" Jayden asked. He felt like he'd just been punched in the gut.

"I have an important task I must undertake," he explained. "One that requires that I spend more time inside the grid."

"What about Earth?" Jayden demanded. "What are we going to do without you?"

"There are a plethora of mentors around you," Gosei said. "You must find guidance in them.

The greatest challenge of your life speeds ahead."

And then his eyes snapped open and he was back in the temple.

The entire Warstar ship was alight with energy and the drone of wet munching.

Stingwingers and Insectoids alike were all stuffing their mouths and mandibles with bloody meat.

"There," Baron said, trying to ignore the nauseating sight. "you have enough food to last you a while."

"Very true," Malkor said in a dreamy voice, a thin trail of blood down his face.

"So give me the prisoner," Baron muttered between his teeth.

"Very well," Malkor replied. "Take whoever you want. Just get them before we depart."

"Depart?" Baron asked.

"Of course," Beezra replied. "We finally have enough supplies to embark on our Great Campaign."

Baron just nodded, not particularly interested in an explanation.

"We will travel to the edge of the galaxy," Malkor monologued. "To a secret world only spoken of in legend. There we will find HIM the father of all Insectoids. And he will guide us to the promised lands."

"Great," Baron said, indifferent as to whether or not they sailed right into the sun. "Would one of you be kind enough to lead me to the to prisoner bay?"

"I will," Creepox offered.

Baron shrugged.

And the two went down the hall.

Somehow the smell was getting worse as they plunged deeper into the ship. The faint musk quickly became a nearly unbearable aroma.

Yet Baron pushed on because the only thing he could taste was victory.

Suddenly Creepox paused.

"Look," the mantis insectoid said. "I don't like you, and I have a sneaking suspicion you don't like me either."

"So?"

"but," Creepox continued. "I simply cannot allow that Red Ranger scum to get away with dishonoring me."

"Just cut to the chase."

"I want to come with you," Creepox said. "If I leave with the other's I'll forever be a laughingstock."

"Fine, whatever," Baron muttered. "Just take me to the Phantom Ranger."

"Yes," Creepox said. "Of course."

The two continued for a few moments until they stopped at a cell and Creepox punched in the code.

Baron smiled as he finally locked onto the figure clad in armor. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

The temple returned to Jayden as he fell to the ground. His body felt drained of all of its energy and his body tumbled backward into Ninjor's arms.

"How'd it go?" Emma asked.

"Yeah," Jake said, tapping Jayden's forehead, "Is Gosei in there now?"

"No," Jayden admitted in a deflated voice. "I found Gosei, but he said he can't come back."

"What?" Jake said, "Then why the hell did we even bother coming here?!"

"Relax," Ninjor said, "I understand your frustration but Gosei is just as calculating as his mentor, and he wouldn't make such a bold move unless he was sure of the outcome."

Emma opened her mouth, but before she could speak she suddenly fell to the ground. She flashed a pained expression as she put her hands to her face and began clawing at her cheeks.

"Rangers… " Emma said in a voice that wasn't her own. "That foolish boy-" Emma broke into a throat tearing scream.

"The Phantom Ranger is putting too much of himself into her!" Ninjor said and grabbed hold of Emma's shoulders and they both began to pulse with energy. "He's going to tear her mind to shreds."

"That boy…" The voice continued. "He's about to make a grave mistake… you must return to the Command Center and stop him before he unleashes… IT!" Emma let out one last scream and fell unconscious.

The five Rangers were reunited on the dusty soil of the original Power Rangers Command Center.

"Why the hell did I get teleported back here?" Gia asked. "Didn't I get my ass kicked enough for one day?"

"Apparently not," the cool and cocky voice of the armored Ranger said as the setting sun cast his figure in crimson. "Because you came back just to bug me."

Beside him was a sight that sunk both Noah and Emma's stomachs to the dirt.

The Phantom Ranger in a pair of energy cuffs, and Lyra standing behind him.

"Lyra!" A voice shouted from behind the Rangers. "This isn't what your dad would want to see."

"There's no time for quarrels," The Phantom Ranger pleaded.

"Damn right," Baron said and grabbed hold of the Sigma Stone around Lyra's neck and held it out.

The five Rangers insta-morphed and lunged forward but Baron deflected them all with a whirlwind he summoned from his morpher.

"Nobody is going to stop me from getting the Greatest Treasure in the Universe!" Baron proclaimed as the gem began to glow.

Suddenly the Phantom Ranger collapsed, the ruby gem on his chest began to pulse at the same pace as the Sigma Stone.

"You won't find the Greatest Treasure…" The Phantom Ranger replied before completely collapsing.

But it was too late, and the ground began to shake.

Jayden steadied himself as the tremors intensified. A large crack materialized between the two parties, spitting them further by several feet.

A deep red glow escaped the cracks, and Jayden's biggest fears were realized.

As blood-colored water began to rise…
