Alec POV:

"Where?!", I say, desperate to find Magnus.

"Do you have an item we can use to track him?"

"Yes, actually, I think.", he looks around, then something bumps into him in the pocket of Magnus's jacket. He pulls it out and realizes it's exactly the right item to track him with. It's the gift he gave Magnus a while back. Alec knew he liked it, but he didn't know he would like it so much to carry it around with him. The jacket still smells like vanilla and cinnamon. He stands there, smelling the jacket, remembering Magnus' smile and his warm embraces. All this makes Alec want him back even more.

"Hey? Earth to Alec?! You still there?", Jace blurts through the phone, interrupting his thought of Magnus.

"Yea. Just got carried away. I think I found the item."

Magnus POV:

He woke up to find himself being dragged across a cold concrete floor. It took him a moment to focus properly, but there was a trail of blood following him. My blood. His head aches like crazy and he just wants to know where he is, and who the hell is dragging him. He cranes his head to the side, trying to make out the shape dragging him by his feet. He notices scaly wings and long claws. No, it couldn't be. The thing looks like its claws are digging into his ankles, but he doesn't feel pain. Should I be worried I can't feel my legs? It feels like he should, but it just doesn't. He does feel, however, the blood trickling down his legs and onto his back, leaving a bloody trail behind him. The floor is rough, not the smooth concrete he had at the box room he was in. There are pipes running along the floor, and the demon that is dragging him doesn't seem to notice that it keeps running him into the pipes. It runs him into one of the pipes and it hits him in the stomach, causing him to cough up blood.

After what feels like forever, the demon finally picks him up and props him on a square platform. He tries to kick the demon, but is too weak. Instead, his leg does a lame thrust, not even even enough to put a dent in the demon, which makes the demon smile and laugh. The demon takes his cuffs and puts them on a longer chain that is connected to the ceiling, leaving his arms dangling. The demon smiles a wicked smile, making its corners of its mouth go all the way up to the bottom of the eyes. Revealing wicked rows of long, black teeth.

"What do you want from me?", I cough, the words coming out in a slur. The demon just grunts and walks down the hall to the left. I hear hushed voices coming from the hallway the demon just went to, and in a few seconds it comes back. But with two other figures following not far behind.

"Thank you, you did well.", I hear an unfamiliar female voice say. And in a few seconds, the demon disappears into ashes, and I am left with the two figures in the darkness.

Alec POV:

"Really!? What is it?", Jace replies.

"The gift I gave him. It means a lot to him, so I bet it'll lead us right to him.",I say, eager to start searching for him right now.

"Ok, bring it back to the Institute. I'll try to convince Izzy, although I'm sure she would love to come."

"Ok.", I say and hang up.

The night air is cold, and Alec tucks Magnus's jacket around him closer. He hurries to the Institute, desperate to get Magnus back. Once he's there, he throws open the door and rushes to Jace's bedroom, sure he'll be there. And sure enough, Jace is on his bed, waiting.

"Hey, did you bring the item?", he said, with a look of excitement and question in his eyes.

"Yeah.", I say, and drop the gift in front of him lightly.

"Perfect.", he says, and then grabs his jacket, heading to the door. Then notices Alec as he stays where he is, confused. "Well, what are you waiting for?"
