Robert Sidle walked to the park and sat down on one of the swings, a single tear rolled down his face which was followed by many more. Sara saw her dad sitting on the swing and her heart broke, she hated to see her dance hurt and upset.
"Daddy, are you okay?" Sara asked him as a tear rolled down.
"I'm fine princess. I didn't mean to upset you back there, I just thought many you would want to start looking at places so you both can live somewhere together with the baby when it comes. I guess it came out a bit wrong" he said letting out a small chuckle.
Sara walked over to him and knelt in front of him putting a hand on one of his and said "I know you didn't mean it in a bad way daddy, I'm sorry I shouted at you. Guess I'm just a bit all over the place just now."
"I know you are baby girl, you reminded me of your mum when she was pregnant with you and your bother."
"I love you daddy"
"I love you too princess, so much and don't you worry about anything. If you're not ready to move out I'm more than happy for you and Grissom to live with us with the baby. I just want you to be happy and safe."
Robert got off the swing and knelt with his daughter and pulled her into a hug. The two stayed like that for several minutes.
"Hey princess, do you want to spend the day with your old man? We could go shopping, get you and the baby some bits and bobs if you wanted?"
"I'd love to daddy"
"Great! Lets head back to the house and get ready then"
The two got up and made there way back to the house. They decided they could have a family night and invite the Grissoms round for tea to celebrate the baby. Sara ran upstairs when she got in and headed for the bathroom. Once finished she went to her room and and got herself ready deciding to wear a yellow and white polka dot strapped dress that hung to her in all the right places and went to mid thigh. She added a white belt to it and put on a pair of white trainers. She grabbed a white denim jacket and left her room to go tell Grissom the plan for tonight. Robert who was already dress for the day told his wife the plan for tonight to which she agreed to and said it was a great idea.
Sara found Grissom in Greg's room playing on the Xbox.
"Hey Gil, I'm going shopping with my dad but he said to invite your family round for tea tonight so we could celebrate the baby. Obviously if that's okay with you" Sara said smiling at him.
"Sounds great babe, I'll message mum and tell her! Have fun with your dad, I'll probably just stay here with Greg. The others are coming round soon as well"
"Okay, have fun and I'll see you later" she told him giving him a quick kiss.
"I love you Sar"
"I love you too, see you later. Bye Greggo!" Sara said as she left the room hearing Greg moan about them kissing in front of him.
"Oh, by the way! You look beautiful Sar" Grissom shouted after her.
Sara smiled to herself and walked down the stairs, the boys carried on playing there game. She saw her mum in the living room and gave her a hug asking where her dad was.
"I'm right here princess, you ready to go?" Robert said as he entered the room.
Sara smiled and nodded her head, she told her mum she loved her and followed her dad to the car.
"I love you too sweetie, have fun" Laura shouted after them.
The pair waved by as they left and made their way towards the mall. They walked round the shops buying several items, some Christmas presents as well for the others. Robert insisted on carrying the bags which made Sara roll her eyes, he was always too kind to her. As they left the last shop Sara noticed a small Baby Boutique shop and her eyes lit up. Robert grabbed her hand seeing this and took her inside it.
"Lets get my little grand baby some things"
Sara smiled and nodded in agreement. They pair made their way around the shop picking up bits and pieces of clothing they thought looked cute. Sara came across a little yellow baby grow that said 'I love my daddy' on it, Robert saw this and grabbed one.
"This would make a good Christmas present for Grissom, what do you think princess?"
"The perfect present daddy" She replied back hugging him tightly.
"Come on, lets go pay for all of this then"
The pair made their way to the till, Sara spotted a small silver frame that had 'Baby's First Photo' engraved on it. She picked two frames up without her dad looking while he was paying. Robert paid for the items then made his way out the shop.
"I'll be out in a minute daddy, just looking at something."
"Okay princess, I'll just be outside."
Sara made her way to the till and paid for the items, she was going to put the sonogram picture she got of the baby in it and give it to her dad when she got home. She made her way outside to meet her dad.
"What did get then?" Robert asked seeing the bag she was carrying.
"Secret daddy, now lets go! I'm getting tired and hungry"
Robert laughed and the pair made their way towards the car, putting their bags in the boot before getting into the car and making their way home. Sara fell asleep minutes later with a smile on her face, Robert saw this and smiled to himself. He was happy his little girl was happy, he knew she was still very young and wished she had waited until she was older to have a baby but knew that as long as she was happy he was too. They arrived at the house just as Grissoms family pulled up too, James Grissom saw Sara was asleep in the car so told his wife he was going to help Robert with Sara and their thing. Betty Grissom smile and led Mia into the Sidle house to go speak to Laura.
"I'll get the bags for you Robert, you get Sara. Might as well let her sleep for a bit longer" James said as Robert got out the car.
"Thanks James! The bags are in the boot" Robert said smiling at James and making his way to get Sara out.
The two men made their way into the house and up the stairs to Sara's room. James put the bags on the floor then pulled the covers back on the bed for Robert, he then left and made his way downstairs to say hello to everyone. Robert laid Sara on the bed removing her jacket and shoes, tucking her in and kissing her forehead like he used to do when she was a little girl. He smiled to himself then left the room to go see the others.
He made his way into the living room to see a room full of guests, Laura, Betty and James were sat on the couches talking to one another while Grissom, Greg and Mia along with Nick, Warrick, Jim and Catherine were all on the floor either lying on their stomachs or sitting playing with Buddy.
"Well, I didn't know you lot were coming as well! You's staying for tea?" he asked the teenagers.
They all told them they were which made Robert smile. He loved having a house full of people and knowing his kids friends loved to come to the house whenever they wanted made him feel happy.
He made his way over to the couch to sit next to his wife who asked where Sara was. He smiled and told her how she fell asleep in the car so he put her to bed to let her rest for a while. Grissom heard this and left the room to check on her and to see her, he missed not seeing her most the day. The two sets of parents saw this and smiled at each other before carrying on with their conversation, the teens and Mia continued to play with Buddy.
Grissom entered Sara's room and smiled seeing her fast asleep with her arms round his pillow and a smile on her face. He walked over to the bed and laid down beside her, he placed hand on her cheek and softly ran his thumb over her cheek.
"I love you so much Sar, you've made me so happy these past few months. I can't wait for this baby to be born and to be a proper family with you. I'm going to do everything I can for you both, I promise. I love you's both" Grissom whispered, his hand on her cheek travelled down to her stomach.
"We love you too" Sara whispered back while opening her eyes slowly and placing her hand on top of his.
"Sorry baby, I didn't mean to wake you" Grissom said smiling at her.
"It's okay, I don't mind. Should really get up so we can get tea. Who's all here anyway?" Sara asked cuddling into Grissom.
"Everyone, your dad said the others could stay for tea as well since they were already here when yous got back. I was thinking something, I mean we don't have to if you don't want to but I was thinking we got tell the others about the baby tonight. They're our friends and I'm sure they'll be happy for us, so what do you think?" Grissom asked her wrapping his arms around her.
"I think it's a great idea baby. Just let me do something quickly then we can go downstairs and tell them."
Grissom nodded his head and watched as Sara got out the bed and headed to the shopping bags. She pulled out the two frames she bought earlier and showed Grissom.
"I thought we could put pictures of the sonogram in these and give them to our parents tonight."
"I think that's a great idea" Grissom said walking up to her he kissed her while wrapping his arms around her.
Sara smiled at him then grabbed the pictures to put in the frames. They took a frame and picture each and put the photo inside. Once done they smiled at each other and looked at the picture.
"That's out baby Griss, just look at how perfect he is."
"What makes you think it's a he?" Grissom asked chuckling.
"Don't know, just think it is" Sara told him smiling.
Grissom kissed her "Come on baby, let's go downstairs and give our parents their presents."
Sara nodded and the two made their way downstairs, they saw everyone in the living room still.
"Hey sleepy head, bout time you woke up" Greg shouted seeing the two enter the room.
Everyone turned to look at the two entering, they all said their hellos to Sara, Grissom held the two frames behind his back so nobody saw them. They all sat back in their seats, the parents on the couches and the teens and Mia on the floor, some on bean bags from Greg's room. Sara and Grissom stayed standing in the middle of the room.
"So we wanted to tell yous something, our families already know but we wanted yous to know as well" Grissom started saying, looking towards Sara to let her tell them.
"Well Griss and me are going to, um, well we're going to have a baby" she told them slightly nervous about their friends reaction to the news.
Their friends cheered and shouted their congratulations, Greg and Mia started dancing as they were still excited about the news of the baby coming along. Everyone laughed at them, Catherine walked over to the pair and hugged them both.
"OMG! Sar, we're going to have to go shopping soon to get the baby clothes and shoes and everything. I'm so happy for yous both!"
Sara smiled and told her she had already bought a few pieces that she would show her later after tea. Catherine sat back down next to Nick and Grissom and Sara walked over to their parents and handed them the frames they had got them.
"We thought you's would like these, you're first grand baby's picture" Sara told them.
Their parents looked at the frames and smiled, they all had tears in their eyes.
"Well you two just made my day, thank you both" Laura told them both giving them a hug.
The others hugged and thanked them both as well before sitting back down. Grissom and Sara sat down on the bean bag that Greg had just moved off of. They all talked about what to order for tea and decided to order Chinese. It came an hour later and they all sat in the living room eating it. Everyone laughed as they saw Sara eat three plate fulls which was very unlike her.
"Princess, you're going to eat us out of a house and home by the end of this pregnancy" Robert told Sara laughing.
Sara blushed and laughed along with everyone else, she felt so happy and couldn't wait for this baby to be born into such a loving family. Grissom wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him, they smiled at each other and she laid her head on his shoulder cuddling into him.
"I love you Sar"
"I love you too Gil"
