"Eliwood travels westward to meet with Uther, the marquess of Ostia. They pass through Laus and continue through two more territories. After a time, they arrive at a fortress separating Thria and Ostia." David said.

"This also happens to be the fortress where Uther lives in." Hector said. "Almost done. Just go right in and ask him."

"It's never that easy. And...it still is not." Gallantmon said as they multiple soldiers charging the fortress.

"Take this fortress! It will make the perfect tribute for Lord Darin!" the commander said.

"And it looks like they're the last scraps of Darin's gang. Hoo boy." David said.

"Which means they're Laus mercenaries. This could be troublesome." Eliwood said before one approached them.

"Die in his…" he said before an arrow pierced him.

"Well...seems you all have a knack for bringing trouble." said a familiar nomad.

"Rath!" Lyndis said.

"And yeah, we kind of get that a lot around here." Mayumi said.

"What are you doing here?" Florina asked.

"After what happened, I've been working in Ostia as a mercenary. We're fighting back but...we could use some help." Rath said.

"Well, I guess it'll be just like old times, then." Sectonia said.

"Indeed it will." Rath said readying his bow.

"Alright, let's do this!" ZS said as the group entered the battle.

Shortly after the group mobilized, David spotted a wyvern rider out back.

"Hm? What's he doing all the way over there?" David asked.

"Doesn't look like he really wants to be here." Ming said.

"Hey, Ming. Do you think you can talk to this guy, see what's going on?" David asked.

"Sure. I'll go and talk to him." Ming said advancing to the Wyvern rider. "Hey there. Shot in the dark, but I feel like you don't really wanna be doing this, right?"

"No...I am not. I'm only a lone mercenary now. No longer a knight of Bern." he said.

"So what brings you all the way here?" Ming asked.

"I have to make a living somehow." he said.

"Sounds to me like you don't really like how your comrades do things." Ming said. "If that's the case, why not fight alongside us instead?"

"Hmm...not like I'm making enough doing this. Fine. I am Heath. I'll fight by your side." he said.

"Thank you very much. Now, let's get down to business." Ming said.

With Heath at their side, the odds turned in the heroes' favor, pushing back the enemy assault on the fortress.

"Curse these mercenaries! Turning Heath against us and now driving us back?!" the commander asked. "This can't be happening!"

"You served under Darin." Hope said as he and David walked up. "I think you should have expected this."

"Don't patronize me! I will avenge Lord Darin!" the commander said, charging.

"You got this one, David?" Hope asked.

"Damn straight I do." David said.

"You damn fool! Carry your idiotic morals straight to the grave!" the commander shouted as he charged him.

"Following our morals...is what allows us to be human." David said as his blade flashed. "Too late for regrets!" he said as he struck the leader from several directions.

"I'm coming...Lord Darin…" he groaned before collapsing right on the ground.

"And that is how it's done." David said, looking to the remaining Black Fang forces. "Your leader has been slain. If you value your lives, you'd best leave now."

The army didn't need much before they quickly retreated from the battle. It was after the battle they went to meet with Uther and told them of their plight.

"So...will you help us?" Hector asked.

"I will admit. All of this is...troubling. However, I need more time to consider all of this." Uther said. "However...in the middle of the Nabata Desert, there is where you must go. Go and meet the Living Legend."

"A desert...of course its a desert." David sighed.

"Don't worry...we'll keep you cool every step of the way." Francisca said.

"Thanks...though that will not cure me of this upcoming trek." he sighed as they headed off towards the desert.
