"Naruto, whatever Mizuki told you about your birth…is a lie!"

Blue eyes stared blankly at the white-haired man standing before her. Lies? What he told me was the truth. A sardonic smile played on her lips as she lowered the kunai. Black eyes gleamed with hope and the blonde darted her eyes to Tsuna and his friends as well as his tutor. All four of them stared at her with wide eyes. She looked at Hibari, whose eyes fixated on Reborn before shifting to her.

I'm going to fight them. That was what his eyes seemed to be telling her and Naruto inclined her head slightly up. It did not matter to her who he fight or what he did. As long as Hibari kept out of her way while she fight this man then he could play with these predators. Those grey eyes gleamed with excitement and Naruto watched blankly as Hibari struck Reborn, only for the toddler to whack him down with a green cane.

He is going to be targeting them later.

Her hand reached down to her pockets and she focused her eyes on the man who stared at her with hopeful eyes. She curled her lips into a thin smile. "Even if his words were a lie, it sounded more like the damn truth then whatever bullshit that the Sandaime gave me."

She fished out the smoke bomb from her pocket and smashed it down to the ground. Black smoke filled the dining room and Naruto inhaled. Her hands weaved together. If I combine those two jutsu together then he will be taken by surprise. She bobbed her head as her hand grabbed hold of the kunai.

A deep inhale and Naruto flung the kunai in the man's direction. It was foolish. The chances of her defeating someone that was probably a Jounin was practically zero. But she had to try because dying was the last thing she wanted. Naruto stood in her spot as the smoke disappeared to reveal the white-haired man holding the kunai.

Either he hasn't realized or he is toying with me.

If she had to guess then Naruto would pick the fact he was toying with her. His black eyes didn't seem all that serious, displeased yes but he did not seem irritated by the fact she threw a kunai at him. Except it isn't really a kunai. Black eyes widened as the kunai reverted into a clone.

"W-What the hell!" Tsuna yelled. His brown eyes widened as it took in the sight of the clones and his head swirled between her and the clone in th man's hands. "I-Is that a clone? But how? What? R—"

Boom!

The clone exploded and the ceiling above them began to crumbled. I should run. She hummed and watched with blank eyes as fractions of the ceilings rained down on them. Her blue eyes darted to Hibari and she tilted her head when Tsuna dashed towards him, looking like he wanted to save him. He really is not suited for the Mafia. She sighed.

"I think Naruto copied Gokudera when it came to his fireworks!" Yamamoto declared. Naruto snapped her head to the side and brown eyes locked onto her. There was a wide smile on his face and his brown eyes twinkled with mirth. Is he joking? That was no firework! The words were on the tip of her tongue but she held herself back.

"The Bunshin Daibakuha jutsu," the man commented, coughing and waving his hand through the cloud of smoke. "That is one of the jutsu in the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing. How many jutsu did you learn from that scroll?"

Naruto curled her hands into a fist and launched herself at the man. Did it matter? Her fist almost gazed the man's stomach but the white-haired man grabbed hold of her fist. He winced, only moving a few inches from his original position. But there was some amusement in his black eyes alongside some pride.

She grinded her teeth.

"C'mon Naruto, won't you tell me how many jutsu did you learn from that scroll?" He asked, tightening his grip on her hand. Naruto winced. It almost felt like her bones were cracking from the sheer pressure of his grip. Maybe I was being a bit stupid into thinking that an exploding clone and a henge would be enough. She clenched her jaws.

There was no harm for her to answer that question.

"I learnt only two jutsu," Naruto admitted, yanking her fist away from the man. She rubbed her wrist and focused her eyes on the man that the Hokage sent to capture her. If I run away, he will capture me. Fighting him is stupid but I can't go down without a fight. She poked her tongue against her cheeks. "I could have learnt all of those jutsu by now but most of them implied that I can only use it once before dying…and the other jutsu required human sacrifices."

"H-Human sacrifices!" Tsuna squeaked. I forgot that we have an audience. Naruto pinched her nose and darted her eyes to Tsuna and his friends. All four of them looked at her with wide eyes, looking sickened by her words. She snorted. That had been her reaction when she read the forbidden scroll.

Even though she hated humans, making a dead person act as her puppet was a line that not even she would cross.

"The other jutsu is the Kage Bunshin Jutsu, isn't it?" the man questioned. "That was the jutsu that you used on Mizuki, wasn't it?"

I learnt it but I didn't need to use it to kill Mizuki. She curled her lips into a smirk as black eyes locked onto her. There was almost a thoughtful look in his eyes and whatever the man was thinking…well she wouldn't let him do it. Taking a deep breath, Naruto channeled her chakra into her fist and jumped up.

The white-haired man sighed and his hand reached out for her. Like I'm actually going to do the same trick twice! Hibari gave me permission to destroy his house. She smashed her fist against the ground. Wood flew up and the blonde grabbed hold of the wooden plank. Even though she was in midair, Naruto hurled the plank at the man.

The white-haired man sighed and weaved his hands together. Substitution jutsu. She darted her eyes everywhere as wind smacked against her face. Ten seconds. That was probably how long she had before her body crashed down to the ground. She kicked her feet around, twisting her whole body and blue eyes widened at the sight of the white-haired man.

A large fist slammed into her back and Naruto crashed down the ground. Broken wood dug right into her back and if she was an ordinary person like Tsuna or Reborn, her back would have broken. Instead all she could do was spit out blood. He is really strong. Blood dribbled down her lips as the white-haired man captured her hands.

"If I wasn't used to Tsunade hitting me, I probably would have suffered even more from your attack," the man commented. Tsunade? Wait…isn't that the Shodai Hokage's granddaughter? One of the Sandaime Hokage's student? Blue eyes widened and a realization dawned upon her. Sweat began to dribble down her face as black eyes looked down at her.

This man wasn't just any Jounin.

He was one of the Sannin and if she had to guess from her memory in Iruka's history class then this man had to be Jiraiya. Why the hell would the Hokage send a Sannin after me? She scowled. Now there was definitely no way for her to win against him. She was definitely not that stupid. Only an idiot think that they could win against a Sannin.

Actually I'm an idiot to think I have a chance against a Jounin.

She curled her lips into a scowl.

"Why do you like making things hard for yourself, Naruto?" Jiraiya asked, shaking his head. "I only wanted to talk to you but you are acting like you are a huge wanted criminal."

Blue eyes narrowed and she looked away from him with a scowl. Her blue eyes focused on Yamamoto and the others. Reborn stared at her with unreadable eyes but she could see the glint of interest in his eyes. Tsuna just looked around the ruined dining room with absolute horror. Yamamoto stared at her with concern, brown eyes fixating on her while the silver-haired teen gawked at her.

Out of all the reactions, it was Yamamoto's reaction that irritated her.

Why the hell is he concerned!

She grunted and looked at Jiraiya.

"I killed Mizuki-sensei," she pointed out. "Traitor or not, he was still a member of the village. I also killed Iruka-sensei and—"

"Iruka isn't dead."

Time froze at those words and Naruto felt her lips parting at those words. How? What? But I made sure that the shuriken dug deeply into his ribs! I didn't even help him while he bled! She schooled her expression into a blank one as black eyes locked onto her own gaze. The fact that she didn't kill Iruka should make her relieved but she only felt disappointment.

It seemed like she really did miss a vital point like she presumed.

"I still attacked him," Naruto said dryly.

Jiraiya thinned his lips and looked down at her. "Iruka didn't blame you for attacking him. He blames himself for not noticing the signs—"

She was not going to listen to those bullshit lies again!

"—Do you honestly believe I'm going to go back to that hellhole if you sprout things like this?" demanded Naruto. She clenched her jaws together and placed her other hand on top of him. She tried to yank his hand off of her own but his grip suffocated her. I should have escaped instead of priding myself! A growl erupted from her lips. "I'm never going back there! I would rather die than go there!"

Black eyes widened and Jiraiya narrowed his eyes. "Naruto, do you know—"

"Make me go back there and I will destroy the damn village," Naruto snarled. "Everyone thinks the village is so fucking great but my life was hell there! And if you say that it is my home then I say it is bullshit!"

Jiraiya's grip didn't loosened by her words but his black eyes was fixated on her own blue eyes. I can't read what is going through his head but I will make sure he will make it clear to the Sandaime. She clenched her jaws as her heart pounded against her chest, just ready for her to burst. Redness flooded her eyes but Naruto pushed it back.

She was never herself when her eyes turned red like this.

"But it is your home."

"Home? We have a different definition of what home is," Naruto said. A bitter laugh escaped from her lips as her blue eyes turned cold. "Home is a place where you feel safe! Home is where you can walk the streets without someone looking at you like you don't deserve to live! Do you understand now? I never had a home in that shitty village!"

Gasps filled the room and in the corner of her eyes, Naruto could see that Hibari was now awake. Those grey eyes held no emotions as it flickered between her and Jiraiya. The Toad Sannin closed his eyes and Naruto yanked his hand away from her own. She curled her hands into a fist. She propelled herself at him, hair flying everywhere as her hand reached to smash him.

He grabbed hold of her hand and slammed her down to the ground.

"Naruto, I know things were hard for you but your parents—"

She grinded her teeth together. He wants to play that card? If she wasn't pinned down to the ground, she would have clawed him for bringing up her non-existent parents. Who did he think he was talking to? She was not that same naïve twelve-year-old girl, who believed the lies sprouted by the Sandaime Hokage.

There was no one that could control her now.

"I never had parents!" Naruto snarled. She dug her nails against the man's hand but he didn't wince. His black eyes showed no emotion except grief. Liar! No one gives a shit about me! Even Mizuki-sensei was trying to use me. She clenched her jaws together, grinding her teeth together. "Do you think I don't know? I never had parents! Monsters like me don't have them!"

The words hung in the air and Naruto locked eyes on him. The vein on her forehead throbbed when those black eyes looked at her with a sadness that reminded her of those people that mourned the deaths of their loved one. Why the hell is he so sad? She wanted to smack it off of his face and slit his throat but the chances of that happening was low.

He was a Sannin after all.

"Is that what he told you?" Jiraiya whispered. There was something dangerous in his tone. Something about his tone made her shiver and it seemed like she was not the only one. A quick glance to her side told her that the other teens looked like they wanted to puke. Actually Tsuna already puked if that trail of vomit leaking out of his shirt was of any indication.

Reborn only trembled but he didn't falter like the three boys in the ruined dining room.

"He told me the truth," Naruto finally answered, looking up at the ceiling. I'm probably going to get into trouble for spilling the truth but I'm going to die anyway. The thought made her laugh and she closed her eyes. "What I don't understand is why the Old Man and you want to drag me back there."

"Naruto—"

She was not going to give him a chance to try and change her mind.

"I'm the monster that destroyed half of the village 14-years-ago," Naruto said, curling her lips into an icy smile. Jiraiya shook his head and she rolled her eyes. "Don't shake your head at me. I know the truth. I'm the monster that the Yondaime should have killed instead of giving me a human form!"

Smack.

There was a stinging sensation around her cheeks as Jiraiya looked down at her with fury and grief. He is probably upset that I won't be able to be brainwashed again. She should probably tremble in fear like the boys and Reborn but she could only look up at the tiny glimpse of the twinkling night star.

It had also been nighttime when she learnt the truth about herself.

"I hope that will knock some sense into you!" Jiraiya muttered, shaking his head. "I don't know how long Mizuki manipulated you but Naruto…you are not the monster!"

His words rung throughout the ruined house and Naruto stared at him with blank eyes. He really is a fool. Did he think that such simple words would be enough to make her trust him? Or believe him? She was not that girl anymore. Naruto clenched her jaws and fixated her eyes on the five other males that surrounded her.

Confusion shone through their eyes and Naruto shook her head.

"If I'm not the demon then what am I?" Naruto asked. Jiraiya blinked and she rolled her eyes at him. "I have to be the monster because why else would the whole village looked at me like I'm a demon? Why would those villagers whispered that the Hokage should have killed me instead of letting me live?"

She kept her tone calm and cold, not allowing any emotion to leak out of her. If I show any weakness then he will leech onto it. The desire to keep order was greater than whatever bullshit lie he had to tell her. There was nothing the Toad Sannin could say that would make her change her mind about her beliefs.

Mizuki gave her the most reasonable explanation of the village's hatred towards her.

"You aren't going to listen to what I have to say, are you?"

Naruto rolled her eyes.

"If you want to make me listen then you probably would have to knock me out."

Jiraiya sighed before slamming his fist against her stomach. He really wants to make me listen to him but I can escape if he does anything to me. That was her final thought as the world around her turned black.

"I will pay for the damages that Naruto and me caused to your house, just calculate the price and I will write you a cheque for the repairs."

Takeshi took in several deep breaths as his eyes followed Jiraiya. The white-haired man did not look at Hibari at all as he wrapped his arm around Naruto's slender body. She looks like she is finally relaxed. His brown eyes couldn't look away from her sleeping face even when Jiraiya threw the girl over his shoulders. There was just something about her face that made him want to watch her sleep.

Maybe it was the fact that she looked even prettier without that blank look on her face.

"You defeated the Little Fox like it was nothing," Hibari observed. Takeshi tore his eyes away from the sleeping girl and examined the black-haired teen who narrowed his eyes at Jiraiya. Oh…Hibari must have fight Naruto and he couldn't beat her. That made a lot of sense when he considered how Naruto came to know Hibari. If his senior couldn't beat her then he must have been trying to beat her.

That meant that Naruto was stronger than Hibari and for this guy to beat Naruto meant that he had to be strongest person in the town.

"Naruto is a very strong girl and she would be stronger with some more training," Jiraiya said, flickering his eyes to the unconscious girl. The white-haired man darted his eyes to his fist and grimaced. "If I didn't have many years of experience and training then I would have been in huge trouble."

"You went easy on her," Hibari stated. There was both excitement and disappointment in his tone and Takeshi frowned. She probably knows that he went easy on her. His eyes focused on the unconscious girl on Jiraiya's shoulder. He did not fully understand what happened in that fight but he did know Naruto.

Not well enough to know her favorite food and color but he understood her well enough to know that she knew when someone was stronger than her. It might have been why she used that firework to launch her attack. But it is weird she didn't run away. A smile crept up on his lips as his eyes locked onto the whiskered girl.

She really had a way of surprising him.

"I-Is no one going to talk about the fact that Uzumaki killed someone?" Tsuna cried, swirling his head at them. The brown-haired teen trembled, looking ready to puke and the baseball player put his hands on top of his friend's shoulder. Acting oblivious would help but Takeshi could not think of anything that would make his friend calm down.

He darted his eyes to Gokudera but the silver-haired teen looked just a loss about it.

"The person that Naruto killed was a man that took advantage of her and spilled a secret that was never his to spill," Jiraiya said. Coldness dripped out of his voice and his black eyes focused on them. "Even if Naruto let him live, the Sandaime would have either cut his tongue out or executed him for what he did. What she did to him was no less than what he deserved."

Those words sounded so cold and heartless but Takeshi didn't mind it. Even though Tsuna looked sicken by those words, Takeshi agreed with what Jiraiya had to say. He hurt her in the worst possible way. The smile on his lips wavered as his brown eyes fixated on Naruto before moving to Gokudera and Hibari.

Gokudera only stared at the sleeping girl while Hibari grunted, looking almost pleased at the answer. The rumors about him liking blood must be true. Takeshi forced himself to smile before darting his eyes to Reborn. The black-haired toddler tilted his hat upwards, black eyes not showing any emotions as it fixated on Naruto.

He did not seem all that surprised to know that Naruto had killed before.

"Jiraiya, I don't understand but what were the two of you talking about? It sounds like you guys were reenacting a script from a comic," Takeshi said. Black eyes widened and looked at him like he was an idiot while his friends jerked their heads at him. I have to break the tension. He kept his smile locked onto his face and forced himself to look away from Naruto. "Did people really wish she died?"

"Out of everyone in our year, you have got the best scores in school and all the teachers tried to recruit you for one of the sports but you always refuse!"

His own words echoed in his ears and Takeshi could vividly recall the anger and hurt in her eyes when he sprouted those words at her. She must have been so furious when I said those words. He closed his eyes and looked at her. Even though he knew things might not have been easy for her, Takeshi would never allow himself to pity her.

Because that was what Naruto refused to do and he respected her for that.

"She must have been only 12!" Tsuna yelled. Takeshi snapped his head at the brown-haired teen. The smaller boy trembled and looked slightly green as his eyes focused on the silent Jiraiya. No one would have wanted that for us when we are 12. The knowledge made his stomach turned and he flickered his eyes to Gokudera. His friend seemed to be unfazed, almost like he understood what Naruto went through. "Why would someone wish for her to die?"

Takeshi shifted his eyes away from Gokudera and locked onto Jiraiya. The man's shoulders trembled and his jaws locked together. He is just as upset. That was good but it didn't make up for what Naruto must have suffered. He placed another hand on Tsuna's shoulders, trying to stop the trembles. Doe-like eyes looked at him and Takeshi just focused on Jiraiya.

"I think Jiraiya-san is just as upset as we are," Takeshi announced.

Tsuna glanced at the white-haired man and relaxed his shoulders. Once he calm down, he finally notices it. The smile on his face widened and he looked back at the sleeping girl on Jiraiya's shoulder. She probably would yell at him for jumping to conclusions but Takeshi knew he was right. The man probably wanted to knock Naruto out before she opened her mouth but he chose to listen.

He held back instead of knocking out immediately.

"They are just a bunch of ungrateful fools," the white-haired man answered. Anger colored his tone and black eyes locked onto Tsuna, looking even more regretful than ever. He really looks at Tsuna like he is a ghost. Jiraiya closed his eyes. "If her father was alive and heard what I had just heard…he probably would have regretted not letting them die in the attack."

Reborn took a step forward and Takeshi was taken back when he saw the frown playing on his lips. He is really going to be serious about this topic. That was going to be interesting since Reborn liked making things chaotic for Tsuna. But he guessed that it was not the time for Reborn to play one of his games again.

"Her father was the leader, wasn't he?" Reborn asked. "He is the one that put her in this situation, isn't he?"

The question hung in the air and everyone jerked their heads at Jiraiya. The white-haired man did not answer but the lack of answer spoke volumes to Takeshi. Her Dad died and she is the one that gets the blame. His stomach crunched and he shifted his eyes to Tsuna and Gokudera. The two teens looked just as visibly sickened as he felt.

"You only had to listen to what we talked about to get the clues," Jiraiya mused, fixating his eyes on Reborn. "You are really observant. Most people in the village wouldn't have realized even if we slapped a photo of Minato at them."

Reborn fixated his eyes on Naruto. "Why doesn't she know the truth?"

"Her father made a lot of enemies," Jiraiya replied, fixating his eyes on Tsuna before shifting to them. "And telling a hyperactive little girl that your father was one of the strongest men in the village is generally a bad idea. At the time, the Sandaime thought that if Naruto knew the truth then she would shout it out to the world."

She must have been really different as a kid. Takeshi tilted his head to the side and locked eyes on Tsuna. The brown-haired teen clutched his stomach like he could not handle what was being said while Gokudera tilted his head. Maybe he is curious to know if Naruto is also apart of the Mafia game. It would be cool if she was then they would have more players with them.

"And the villagers?" Reborn asked.

"Why tell them something that should have been obvious to their own eyes?" Jiraiya asked with a sigh. "Even as a baby, it was plain to see that she was Minato's daughter. She has her father's coloring but humans really are blind when it comes to something like this. Even if I was to tell them that she is the daughter of the man that gave his life for them…they would deny it."

Takeshi stared at Naruto and then examined the man before her. Will he take her back there? No. He shouldn't do that. If Jiraiya took her back then she was probably going to get worse. He chewed the inner corner of his cheek and locked eyes on the sleeping girl on Jiraiya's back. If Naruto get back then he probably wouldn't be able to see her really smiled.

He wouldn't even know what her favorite color was or listened to her as she grumbled about making an exchange for him.

Life would probably be dull if she wasn't around anymore.

"She is going to be really unhappy if you make her go back to your village."

The words spilled out of his mouth and everyone turned to look at him. Black eyes regarded him while Tsuna bobbed his head in agreement. It is obvious but I have to point it out. He forced himself to smile and Takeshi looked at Hibari. He was Naruto's friend so he understood his concern. Hibari grunted but Takeshi knew that he would be upset if Naruto left.

If he couldn't see Naruto then he would have no chance of beating her in a fight.

"I need to talk to her," Jiraiya said, shaking his head. He fixated his eyes on Tsuna and Reborn. "And I won't be able to talk to her here. Will it be possible if I borrow your house while I have a talk with Naruto?"

Tsuna frowned. "Will y-you still take her back to your village?"

"…I don't know anymore."

Takeshi guessed that was the best answer that they could get from him.
