Kana wasn't entirely sure what was happening. She went from trying to spar with Yoruichi, to trying to pull her reiatsu in, to being in...well electrifying pain. Her entire body felt overly sensitive, and it took a great deal of effort to open her eyes. What she saw was probably the most confusing thing yet, Arashi's whip snapping around his opponent's arm. His opponent just grinned madly and reached up with their other hand to grasp the whip, pulling hard and cackling as Arashi's eyes widened in surprise, thunder rolling overhead as he struggled to not be pulled forwards. Kana finally found the energy to move, sprinting towards the duo as fast as she could. The tall figure Arashi was fighting smirked widely, and with a broad wave of their arm there was a spark of purple energy rushing towards Kana, sparking and roaring overhead and locking her in some type of electric cage. There was a spark of lightning above, along with a roll of thunder, and Kana felt her entire body shake in shock at the sight of who her Zanpakuto's opponent was.
What Kana first noticed when she next regained consciousness was someone heavily breathing next to her. And it was really really fucking annoying. The second thing she noticed was that she was strapped down. Her eyes flew open and she recoiled at the bright light, blinking harshly to adjust her eyes. Her gaze flew about the room, her ears registering the muffled sound of someone fighting, the heavy breathing beside her, and the lighter breathing of someone farther away on her other side. It took her a few moments to realize the light that had assaulted her eyes so harshly wasn't the natural light pouring in from the sun as it was before, and was instead a harsher cool white bordering on blue coming from where the heavy breathing was. Her head tilted to face whoever it was as the light faded, and she was surprised to note it was Yoruichi looking more exhausted than she had ever seen her before. Her arms were shaking, she was sweating hard with her hair sticking to her face and neck and she looked absolutely exhausted.
"Wha penned?" Yoruichi's eyes moved up to her face as Kana cursed how weak her voice sounded. She was getting really tired of this weak bullshit. Sweat dripped down her face and Kana tried to lift her arms, frowning at how they didn't even move an inch. Her eyes flickered down to note her entire body wrapped in black bandages, before shifting back up to Yoruichi's face. Her stomach dropped at the realization that she wasn't sweating as much as she had thought. She was crying. What the fuck was going on? There was a shuffling of footsteps, and red entered her vision from the other side.
"Renji...Abari..." What in the fuck was he doing here? She tried to move again, getting more frustrated at how much she couldn't.
"Go rest. I'll tell her what happened." He mumbled to Yoruichi, and the purple haired woman hesitated a moment before nodding and struggling to stand. Renji helped her up and took her across the room, out of Kana's vision, before returning and sitting where Yoruichi had been before.
"Why are you here?" Kana immediately demanded, jolting up against the bindings again. She felt a sparking rush and then fell back flat again with a growl. If she was bound for one more second she was going to kill someone.
"I came to train, to learn Bankai, to help save Rukia." Kana pushed again, growling as her reiatsu flared. She felt the bindings expand before pushing back and she sighed.
"If you don't get me the fuck out of here, I'm going to shove your sword up your ass." She started off quiet, but quickly ended up yelling at Renji. He furrowed his brow and looked fairly pissed before holding his hands up in a 'calm down' manner that just pissed her off anymore.
"No can do, Yoruichi is the one that put that Kido on you. I wouldn't even know where to start undoing it."
Kana sighed, trying to shift a bit more.
"Fuckin' great. Is this was that blue glowing shit was?
"Oh, no, that was a healing Kido." Kana glared at the redhead as he shifted closer. Being defenseless against someone who was previously an enemy was now right up on the top ten list of things that she hated.
"I was injured? When did that happen?"
"Well, you were already in pretty bad shape when I got here. You were out of your mind, chasing Yoruichi around while laughing and shooting some lightning shit at her."
"What? No I wasn't. We were sparing, but then I pushed on my reiatsu too hard and it snapped and then I blacked out." Renji gave her a strange look and she just stared right back.
"Reiatsu doesn't snap."
"Well it did."
"But it can't."
"And I'm fuckin' telling ya it did!"
"Well it fuckin' couldn't have!"
Oooh, this fucker was going to die as soon as she was free.
"Anyway, you were trying to kill Yoruichi when I showed up, and she had me fight you while she worked on the Kido to bind you. You were laughing and had lightning coming out of your fingers and your eyes were glowing purple. It was fuckin' crazy."
"Huh." Looking closer at Renji, Kana could tell he had a few burn marks, some signed hair, and he seemed to be favoring his left arm instead of his right.
"Yeah. Your reiatsu was like...triple what it is right now too. If Yoruichi was any slower, or if I wasn't so strong, you probably could have killed me."
Kana scowled at his bragging tone, getting ready to yell at him again when there was movement from down near her feet. The bindings glowed black for a second before disintegrating, and Kana immediately leapt up, only to quickly regret it as the room started spinning. Her knees gave out and thick arms got her before she fell, her head landing against Renji's collar bone. It would have been romantic, if it was anyone else.
"Get the fuck off me, ya pervert!" Kana yelled, shoving hard and flaring her reiatsu at Renji. Instead of him just, y'know, letting go however, he flew backwards and purple lights sparked down Kana's arms.
"Holy fuck!" She cried, watching the lightning dance along her skin for a second before dissipating. She whipped her head around to look at Yoruichi who was smiling tiredly at her, crossing her arms.
"So remember that 'purple part' of your soul you've been so curious about? Well, I'm pretty sure you unlocked it."
