Greer stared at him wide eyed. He was breathing heavily and covered in blood. Even on the verge of collapse he looked terrifyingly intimidating. What was even better was she got to see Zeke tense and the quadruple titan step back in what she could only assume was fear.

Good.

"I'll come back for you Eren," Zeke said and the quadruple titan took off with him over the wall.

"Eren, get me another set of tanks. I'm going to follow them," Levi said firmly.

Eren nodded and was about to get up when he saw Armin's chest move.

"Armin!" Eren gasped.

Levi walked over and Greer stared at him, her eyes searching for wounds.

"I'm fine," he said lowly, answering her unasked question.

He pulled out a small case from his bag and opened it. He pulled the syringe out and Greer stared at it.

"Once I inject him, he'll have to consume Bertolt Hoover, accepting the transfer of the colossal titan's power. Everyone will need to step way back," he said and Eren nodded.

He just wanted Armin to live. Levi was about to inject him when a soldier appeared, carrying someone on his back.

"Help! Please, help! I have the commander! He's hurt really bad, but he's alive!" the soldier cried.

All eyes widened as he laid Erwin down next to them. Greer recognized the soldier now. His name was Floch, one of Hange's subordinates. Erwin was in bad shape, a few minutes away from being dead. Levi stared at the commander and then at the syringe.

"That's the serum, right? Squad leader Hange spoke about it. She said the commander entrusted it to you because you would make the right call when it came to using it. Give it to the commander," Floch said and Levi thought it over for a moment before standing and walking over to Erwin.

Eren shook his head quickly.

"No, Armin needs it!" he snapped alarmed.

Greer and Mikasa stared at them wide eyed.

"Erwin is the commander. If anyone is going to lead us to victory it's—"

"—bullshit! That's bullshit and you know it! Give it to Armin! He's dying!"

"So is Erwin."

Silence.

Eren went forward.

"I won't let you—" he cried out as Levi hit him in the face knocking him back.

Greer cursed. She knew what was coming next and Mikasa didn't waste any time. She had Levi pinned to the ground and, in his state, he couldn't stop her. Her blade was at his throat instantly.

"You're worn out! We'll just take it from you!" she growled reaching for it.

Greer could see Levi was appalled by their behavior, but Mikasa was right. He was worn out and possibly injured. Mikasa snatched the syringe from him.

"Have you both lost your minds?!" Levi snapped wide eyed.

It was going to get bad real fast. Either Mikasa was going to use her blade or Levi was going to get up and use his.

Ackerman.

Greer stood up and kicked Mikasa back, knocking her off Levi and grabbing the syringe, shocking everyone. Levi got to his feet slowly and Mikasa looked like she was going to retaliate when Greer stood planted in front of him.

"I don't want this. But you're backing me into a corner if you attack him again. So please think on this for a minute," Greer said quickly and all eyes widened.

She could see Mikasa thinking it over. Greer hated that she had the syringe. Now she was involved in this terrible choice and that was exactly what she didn't want. Suddenly, Hange appeared and grabbed Mikasa, placing her in a firm body lock.

"Go on, give it to Commander Erwin," Hange breathed.

"Greer," Levi said holding out his hand and Greer stared at it.

She still held the syringe within her grasp.

"Don't do it Greer!" Eren pleaded and Greer glanced at Levi.

"The syringe," he said and she slowly gave it to him her hand shaking slightly.

"Greer, stop him! Please, you know it should be Armin! Armin came up with those plans!" Eren yelled at her.

But Greer didn't say anything or look at anyone.

Levi stared at Erwin. He seemed to regain his composure and knelt down lowering the needle to his arm.

"He hasn't seen the ocean yet! Please! He hasn't seen the ocean!" Eren cried and Mikasa broke too.

Greer shut her eyes tightly and the words caused Levi to pause. Suddenly, Erwin mumbled something and knocked Levi's hand away causing eyes to widen.

Silence.

"I-I s-see it...it's b-beautiful..." Erwin mumbled and Greer's eyes widened.

The sunrise. He was still there with her.

Levi was frustrated. Why was he hesitating so much? Why was his gut screaming not to do it? He lowered the syringe to Erwin's arm once again, intent on ignoring his conflicting thoughts.

"D-Don't," Greer choked out and then covered her mouth.

But the damage was done as Levi hesitated.

Shit.

Silence.

"Greer, stay out of this," Floch snapped.

Eren and Mikasa stared at her wide eyed.

Levi seemed to be recalling something and, after a moment, he stood up and walked over to Armin, injecting him with the serum, much to everyone's shock. They all jumped back, watching Armin change and consume Bertolt before changing back and passing out.

"You two disobeyed direct orders. I'd have you thrown in a cell if it was any other time and you can bet there will be consequences later. For now, when he wakes up, you two are responsible for explaining to him what happened here," Levi said and walked over to Erwin to say his goodbye.

Greer watched him for a moment before deciding not to follow him. She had said her goodbye to Erwin already. She'd be there for Levi when he needed her to be. She turned and saw Evie standing a few feet away, looking out at the titan forest. She walked over to her and stopped behind her.

"Evie—"

Evie whirled around and hugged her tightly, silencing her. Greer returned the hug tightly and frowned.

"Hey are you—"

"—we have to get everyone off the wall right now," Evie cut her off again and Greer's frown deepened.

"Why?"

Evie looked around, coming to a decision.

"Greer, I love you, okay? It was real. Don't ever forget that, no matter what he says. Please remember, above anything else, it was all real," she whispered frantically and Greer shook her head.

"Evelyn, what's going—" she gasped as a dart hit Evelyn in the neck.

Evelyn cursed and grabbed Greer.

"Remember…" she whispered and dropped to the ground unconscious.

"Evelyn!" she gasped.

Greer was about to call for help, when her father landed in front of her suddenly. She froze as she stared at the man she hadn't seen in years.

"Greer," he whispered and grabbed her roughly, turning her and placing his blade at her neck.

"Stay where you are or I will cut her throat," John Elliot said firmly, halting the scouts in their place.

Levi glared holes through her father, his eyes lowering to the blade pressed against Greer's neck. John nodded.

"Good," he said and Greer swallowed the lump in her throat.

She slowly looked up at her father. John Elliot was a legend in the survey corps. He had started out as a medic, but proved himself to be much more, revolutionizing the ODM gear during his time spent with them. He had aged some, but still looked the same as she remembered.

"D-Dad?" Greer asked weakly, unsure of what to do.

For the first time her mind was blank. Not one coherent thought floated through.

Silence.

"Look at you. The last time I saw you, you were a teenager," John mused.

Silence.

"What did you d-do to Evie?" Greer choked out and John shook his head.

"I didn't do anything to her," John said simply and Greer stared at him.

John gently let his hand caress his daughter's cheek and Greer tried to move away, but John's blade pressed against her neck, drawing blood. Levi went forward, when Mikasa grabbed his arm, surprising him.

"You won't make it in time," she said lowly and Levi stared at her wide eyed.

"What are you going to do?" Greer whispered weakly and John smiled slightly.

"Take Evelyn home. Or would you deny her the rest she has finally earned?" he asked and she stared at him.

"She is finally going to be free of these walls that have contained her since I left her here years ago," he explained.

Silence.

"Left?" Levi spoke up and John nodded.

"As my spy within the walls."

"Liar!" Greer screamed and knocked the blade away from her neck, but John knocked her feet out from under her and dropped her to the ground roughly.

Levi launched forward, but Hange assisted Mikasa in holding him back, unwilling to let him make a reckless decision.

"Let me go," Levi seethed and Mikasa held him tighter.

"You won't make it—"

"—he isn't going to kill her. He would have done it already," Hange deduced.

"Why are you doing this? Why are you lying?" Greer snapped, getting to her knees, blood dripping from her lip, when she bit it in the fall.

"I have no reason to lie. The mission has been completed. The last step is to bring her home. She had been feeding us information on Paradis and the survey corps for years. How do you explain us always being one step ahead of you all the time?" John revealed and Greer felt sick.

"That's not—"

"—up until about a year ago, when the reports stopped suddenly, she has been helping Marley. That was when there was discussion about pulling her out. People said she had become used to the life within the walls, but I managed to convince them otherwise. She is a loyal warrior of Marley. Now it's time for her reward and rest. She did so well," he said proudly, kneeling down to his youngest daughter and scooping her up and over his shoulder, his blade still drawn.

Silence.

"Greer, you're on the wrong side. But you can change that right now. I'm extending a truce to you. Come with us," John said.

Silence.

"There's nothing left for you here."

Silence.

Levi swallowed the lump in his throat, dread filling his body.

Silence.

"I'm not g-going anywhere with you..." she said slowly and all eyes widened.

"Is he the only reason you're choosing to stay?! He is not your family! I curse the day I ever let him into my house! Had I refused your mother's plea to let him stay with us, you'd be just as loyal to me as your sister!" John snapped upset.

Silence.

Silence.

"He's not worth your loyalty or your love Greer. Don't throw your life away for trash," John said trying to calm down.

It was unnoticeable to the untrained eye, but Levi tensed slightly, John's words clearly affecting him.

"Do yourself a favor and get rid of him. He's going to be the reason you die. It's their curse. Come with me and live," John spoke firmly and Levi's eyes widened.

"That girl…Reaper…you love her?" he asked and Levi tensed.

Kenny chuckled, coughing up more blood.

"If you love her…leave her. Ackerman don't get happy endings. It's our curse," he wheezed.

Silence.

Kenny chuckled weakly.

"You're going to get her killed. It won't be your fault, but you'll be the reason she dies," he mumbled.

"And I kinda like her. Be a shame if she dies," he whispered.

Greer cleared her throat.

"I'm n-not going anywhere with you," she repeated and Levi stared at her with wide eyes.

Silence.

"Then you will die with him here in this prison," he said and brought his blade down quickly.

Greer felt a gust of wind pass her and John just managed to redirect his blade and dodge Levi's blade coming down on his head. Hange blinked seeing the two Ackerman gone from where she was standing with the scouts. Mikasa was right behind him and jumped, pushing off of Levi's shoulder and bringing her own blade down on John, slicing into his arm. John cursed and threw himself and Evie from the wall, his only means to escape the two Ackerman set on killing him above. They watched as he swung away, landing by a horse and taking off for the titan forest. Then they turned and ran back to Greer. Hange was dabbing a piece of cloth to the cut on her neck. Levi knelt down and she looked at him.

"Go after them," Greer said quickly, but Levi shook his head.

"No gas left in the tanks."

Silence.

"It's not too deep. We'll patch it up. You'll be alright," Hange said.

Silence.

Silence.

"He won't hurt her," Hange added quietly.

Greer just nodded weakly, staring out into the titan forest where they had disappeared.

Silence.

Silence.
