I Don't Own Harry Potter

I held back a yawn as I walked into Knockturn alley, right now all I need to get is a couple books on the more complexity of blood magic and a some texts on Vanishment. That last one of which is the last branch of Transfiguration magic that I have yet to learn, and is told to be a good deal easier than Conjuration so I'm hoping to have the basics down by at least the time the next term of school starts up.

I could have gotten those books in Diagon but there I'm sure more than a few people would raise an eyebrow or two at the sight of a thirteen year old buying a book on an O.W.L level branch of magic. On a side note though, I noted that a few heads had turned and looked in my direction for a period of time that I'm sure if it was anymore I would have had to fight my way out of here, and trust me, from personal experience, that is really not fun to do.

Now that I'm thinking about it, why are a few people glancing at me every couple moments, I wonder, I never did read that article but, it's wouldn't go amiss if somehow the Daily Prophet somehow got a picture of me. That would be really annoying, I like not being known to the outside world it's the only reprieve I have from Hogwarts where I'm basically more well known than Harry there. So the outside world is where I enjoy my anonymity.

Well at least this isn't anyone recognizing me from the last time I was here, it'd be annoying if they did but as no one seems to be trying to either kill or arrest me at the moment so I'm pretty sure I'm good. But it wouldn't help if my name is slandered a bit by the rumor mill if some people thinks it would be funny if my sighting in the alley way was revealed, I'll have to come up with another way to disguise myself, which is unfortunate.

Tying my hair back and changing my general posture is a lot easier than actually working out a second identity for me to use, but if push comes to shove, well I mean it can't be that hard I'm sure. I've already mastered the general cosmetic charms because of need to hide the fact that I always look like I'm about to fall over in exhaustion and that would hardly be good for my image.

Well, nothing I can do about it right now at the very least so no reason to bother with worrying about it. So with that I walked into a small book shop and quickly made my way to the back where the usual darker tomes and items could be found. Walking through the aisles of books for a few moments, scanning the titles, which isn't as difficult as one would think to read sideways. Then again, one of the weird talents I have is the ability to read from any direction.

That came from my time in public school where I had to become very good at sharing a paper with another without having to be close enough to touch them even with my poor, at the time, eyesight as the teacher was to cheap to make more than one copy per group. Then again, I'm a pretty cheap person so it's not like I could say anything on that regard and I still have that skill so it's clearly come in use through the years.

Stray thoughts aside, I noted something after a few moments that didn't catch my eye immediately, I only knew because this wasn't the first time I had been in this shop, half these books weren't in English yet they seemed to be in it anyway. I some how almost forgot that I know like five more written languages now, and that it does have uses outside of runes.

It's a bit of a problem that I almost couldn't make it out, my mind is auto-translating it for me, I should find a way to figure out a way to distinguish these languages from each other at some point, it shouldn't be to hard, I figured out how to do so with Parseltongue after a little over a week but then again that's only a spoken language so the concept might be a bit different, well thoughts for later.

Because right now I had just found a book, which is either written in Latin or Greek, I couldn't tell, that was labeled 'An Ancients Guide to the Artful Magic of Blood' picking it up, I flipped it open to the front page and skimmed through the beginning for a few long moments before closing it and held it under my arm as I went back to perusing the rest of the books.

From there, I read through a few more titles and then noted a book on soul magic. I just stopped and looked at it for a long moment, before I reached forwards and picked it up and read across the title again, just to make sure I was reading it correctly. Soul magic has been banned for a long bloody time, hell the history of it as well is quite bloody and forcefully hidden, it was like the wizarding world's own crusade against this one subject of magic, pretending it never even exist in the first place in most areas of the world.

Hundreds of thousands of books were burned and hundreds if not thousands of wizards were killed or sent to Azkaban for their life. It was a bloody stain on wizarding history, Daphne found it very interesting when she found it in that book I got her a while back. So that just begs the question, why the hell is a book about it here? This shop is very dark but no where near high class enough to have something like this.

Do they not know? They would have to, otherwise they would either be selling it to the highest bidder or burn it before the wrath of the entire Ministry of Magic fell down on their heads. Flipping the book open after a long moment of thought, I instantly had to dropped it, along with the blood magic tome I had picked up as well as my hands had shot up to my head as I held in a scream of both sudden shock and agony.

I felt my balance go as I crashed to the floor as I felt the walls of my mind buckle under something for a long painful moment before the pressure lifted and I found myself on the floor once again. Looking over at the book again, which had closed in my collapse, I slowly got back up to my feet and glared at the thing for a long moment, before picking it back up along with my other book off the floor.

That makes more sense, the bloody thing is cursed to all high hell, I couldn't feel it from holding it which means someone very powerful did the enchant work on it. Which is very impressive mind you, I've thought about it but haven't had much interest in figuring out how to combine curses and enchantments, I doubt it's all that hard, half of the curses out there that are on objects are practically enchantments already. Still, back to the book which I now had in my hands.

From the effects of it had on me, and the clear attack on my mind, thank fuck for Occlumency by the way, it seems to be some kind of mental degradation curse, nasty bit of magic, personally in my opinion one of the cruelest out there. Not all that hard to fight off if you have any real level of skill in Mind magic but if not, well, it slowly erodes at the person's knowledge of well everything.

It's like dementia but worse because at the end of it the person's own body forgets how to do stuff, like breathing for example, and once that happens all that is left is to wait until you die. It's fucked up, so whoever put that curse on the book really must hold a grudge against people who know about soul magics. Looking at the book in my hand again, I focused on it but I still couldn't feel anything from it.

Whoever did this is very skilled alright, usually something this dark has a noticeable trace of it, but for it not to be, well some kind of ritual would probably have to have been used at some point. And judging from the wear and tear on the tome itself, I doubt I can unravel these curse work without destroying the book itself, and that's not even getting into figuring out how to reverse a ritual, which are made to be permanent.

Still, I stuck the book under my arm as well, it would be an interesting side project at the very least, though I'm sure it's going to take a lot of effort to manage it, it's not like I have anything to really do this year at Hogwarts, besides guiding Harry through some of the tasks if I think he really needs it. After all, I need Voldemort to have a body to kill, otherwise he would just continue to float around as a sprint and I have a feeling that in that form he would be a pain to find a way to kill.

So I have the time is basically what I'm saying, of course I'm also going to be looking into other things, but I can't just let a book as rare as this fall out of my grasp without at least trying all that is available to me to break into it. So with that, I made my way up to the counter while also grabbing a book on Vanishment as well on my way out before paying for the books, to which the elderly man who was running the shop gave me a look at my selection.

"You know kid, I don't know any that has come into here looking for books on all three shades of magic, at least to in a long time" I nodded at that I was I slipped the books into a side bag with a basic expansion charm on it before saying to the man.

"Well then, I guess I'm just an odd one out then" He gave me another look but didn't say anything as I walked out of the store with my wares. Walking out into the alleyway, I looked around for a short moment before walking down the way for a while longer, looking for a particular shop. After a few minutes I walked into a building that seemed to have it's stock of vampires milling around. A few were giving me an odd look, clearly knowing I wasn't one of them.

Walking up to the front desk, I gave a blank smile to the female vampire who looked at me for a moment before grinning ad she stood up and waved for me to follow while calling out that she was going on break and that someone needed to man the desk without her. After a moment, I walked into a small, employee only, room as she closed the door behind her before she spoke.

"Well well, I wasn't expecting to see you here Kyu. After all the last time you showed up you caused a riot, might I add that the one of the books you made me help you steal is still being looked for, and might I add I'm the prime suspect" I gave her, Eliza, a look at taht as I remembered the event quite differently, she just smiled at me in what I'm sure she thinks is an innocent way so I just said.

"I hardly forced you, in fact I remember you jumping at the chance to do something out of the mundane, something about you complaining about having nothing to do in the last sixty years. What book is it anyway, I'm probably done with it at this point so I can drop it off in some store and you can tip off the aurors about it" She's hardly a freind but I do trust her, shakily an barely but still, it would be a shame if she got arrested.

Plus she's pretty easy to manipulate to a certain degree, clearly her eternal life of static boredom has made her fine with doing somethings like help me cause a riot to get a couple hard to acquire items because she just seems to want to do anything that isn't boring. Still even with that in mind, she just sighed as she dropped herself down on one of the couches in the room before saying with a teasing tone.

"Always have an answer for everything don't you? It's that book on Ancient Potions, no idea why the aurors think I stole it anyway, I hardly even liked potions when I was in school, to much patience needed or something like that, I don't really remember, it was a few centuries back to be fair" Well that's a bit annoying, that's the book I gave Blaise for his birthday, I doubt he'll let me have it back, he practically slept with the thing the first few days he had it.

"I gave that one away actually. Any reason why that one is so important? I remember a few books and items that got stolen in the chaos that was a lot worse than that one" I know there was, hell from what I've heard about it after the fact, a full shelf of cursed rings were taken as well, so why focus so much on a single book that, while old, is probably only worth a few hundred gallons.

"Gave away? Really?... I don't know actually, something about it being a link to a collection of books like that one was all I got from my contacts. I wasn't really interested in looking into it anymore after that. Like I said, potions aren't much of an interest of mine" Huh, wish I knew that when I still had it, I wonder how it's lead to those books, it must have some kind of clue in it somewhere. Well, things to think about later I guess.

"Neat. Well, I'm just checking in right now at the moment, so I'll see you later then" She seemed to want to pout at that which I don't understand, I haven't exactly been the most likable person to her or just in general to be honest. So I really don't get why she seems to have taken a liking to me, all I can come up with is that I'm interesting or something like that.

"Fine, I was hoping you had something exciting happening but if you don't even want to talk some more I guess you can leave" She acts like that's going to guilt me into staying with her. She clearly is overestimating herself, so with that I just hummed and said to her as I walked over towards the door.

"Glad you understand" I let a small smirk play on my face as I walked out of the room as I'm sure the face she was making would be quite the amusing sight to see. Now with that down, all I need to do now is get out of this alley before someone thinks that my act is in fact an act and I'm not actually all that dangerous which isn't actually a part of the act. What I'm saying is it would be a pain if some aurors showed up right now with me carrying to very illegal books on my person.

I glanced up as Astira walked into my room in the orphanage and noted that Blaise wasn't with her at the moment. Raising an eyebrow at her as she walked in and closed the door, I recounted the days that I've been here and decided that it hasn't been enough for her to be here yet and I know nothing should be going on at the moment that would warrant her being here early this time.

"Hello there, I was wasn't expecting you" She looked at me for a moment before smiling as she replied.

"That would be the whole point my dear. It's seems I never get to surprise you, now then, I've already come to an accord with the matron, gather your things can we can be going then" I have a feeling something else is at play here but I couldn't think of anything, so with that I stood up and flicked my wand at my trunk and watched as everything quickly shot into it and with that the lid shut with a click, easily one of the less used and most useful spells I have to be honest. So with that, I grabbed my trunk and with the usual amount of dislike, I grabbed her arm and with that we apparited away.

Landing on my feet, I blinked as I looked around for a long moment noting that we seemed to be in a field at the moment, not at the manor. I swear if this is an assassination plot I can say my day is going to become a lot more annoying. But as I looked over at Astira, I noted she wasn't currently trying to kill me at the moment so maybe not. Though as she started to walk up to an elderly man, I had to ask.

"Where are we? Because if this is a kidnapping I must say I've had worst" I actually have, so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm talking about. She just laughed at that though, as the elder made a side comment about so many people showing up before waving us through. So many people? Oh, I'm at the Quidditch World Cup.

"Oh wait, I just figured it out, why are we here?" She seemed to be a bit disappointed at my lack of awe and/or surprise but seemed to expect it a small bit, anyway, after a moment her smile was back as we continued to walk onward as I watched as a bunch of tents were either Irish or Bulgarian themed being set up.

"I happened to acquire a set of tickets to this lovely event and since I know Blaise is quite the fan, and the day it feel on, I figured it would only be right to have you come along as well" Day it fell on? What's today's date again? Oh, it's my birthday, huh, I hadn't noticed, but that just raises the question.

"You're aware that I'm not much of a Quidditch fan right? A bit of a strange birthday gift to give me" She just shrugged at that like it had crossed her mind before saying.

"Well to be honest with you, I couldn't think of anything else to be honest, but I hope you enjoy it nonetheless, Palmer had to call in a few favors to get us these tickets, it's a real shame he couldn't make it, it's why we had a remaining ticket in the first place" Oh, well then, I guess that's a bit more fair, still, I just gave her a side glance and said in a simple tone.

"I'm sure he's time of falling ill is just quite the 'un'lucky coincidence" She just gave a smile at me, I don't think it was meant to be that creepy, I can only guess that the feelings that the sight is giving me is the same as the ones I give other people when I'm the one that's smiling.

I yawned into my elbow as I waited on the game to start as at the moment all that was happening was a lot of brand advertisements. On the flip side Blaise looked like he was about to shoot out of his seat from the amount he was vibrating in it with excitement, though when he saw me yawn he just glared at me, like it was my fault that I didn't care for the sport.

"You and you're mother are the ones that dragged me here, don't blame me for my reactions you're the one that caused this" He seemed really annoyed at my lack of any level of enthusiasm, though I do have to say, it was pretty amusing to watch him have fun with this all. Especially considering the amount of Irish merch that was on his person, in fact I think I'm the only person here that doesn't have some kind of bobble to show who I'm supporting, because I didn't give a shit unlike everyone else.

Of course that doesn't change the fact that I know exactly what's going to happen and as such placed a couple bets that I'm sure will turn a nice little profit for me, which to be honest was the only thing that I was excited about at the moment to be honest. I mean after this game ends I just have to hope that we're leaving otherwise things are going to be a bit annoying.

I was sudden cut off from my thoughts of impeding violence as the cheering all around me seemed to spike as I looked around for a long moment and noticed that a group of leprechauns had come out onto the field. They did some decently impressing things while the team was called out and then the next team was introduced and I blinked as I watched as a group of Veela made they're way onto the pitch.

I just blinked down at the sight of them for a long moment, slightly wondering if it would effect me as they started dancing. It was a bit interesting I guess, nothing special about it though from the way Blaise was currently trying to jump over the railing, it would seem that I was just immune. Flicking my wrist, I Accio-ed his robed, which forced his back to slam back into his seat even as he struggled to get back to his suicide jumping.

I'll be honest, I'm a bit disappointed, I'll admit I was slightly interested in finally figuring out what all the hype about women is about. Alas it wasn't meant to be, no shock there really, and after all, well most, of the guys had settled down and most of the women had stopped boo-ing at the creatures the game finally began. Blaise looked mortified though at his own reaction while both myself and Astira just watched his annoyance with great amusement.

Though said annoyance didn't last long after the game had started as he was to caught up in what was happening to care about his pride I guess. As for the match itself, well it was a bit interesting, the flying was impressive I've give them that, even though I'm quite shit at it myself I can appreciate the clear talent in it that these players had, even if I thought there was better things to be better at personally.

Still, despite my own lack of care, everyone still went crazy in either anger or joy as the Irish team won as Krum caught the Snitch after about fifteen minutes of play. I concealed a loud yawn in the even louder mayhem of the cheering around me, now to see if I can not be here when shit goes down. We even did set up a tent so I'm probably fine.

Just some talk about some off screen events and some book collecting before showing the Quidditch World Cup because why not. Anyway, See ya.
