I wasn't sure what else we would find in Macalania Woods, but we knew we had to collect the fiends in the area. So that is what we did. They were easier this time around since we knew weaknesses and we were stronger. Getting to the crossroad leading to Bevelle and the Calm Lands was child's play at this point. But something was telling me we had to visit Bevelle. So I led the group towards Bevelle.
"We are going to Bevelle? I thought you wanted to stay away." Yuna questioned. That is when I told her that I felt that we had to go, and she didn't respond. The Highbridge was guarded of course, but we were able to pass unquestioned. About half-way down towards Bevelle, two chests were visible. One on the left and one on the right. Drew moved to the left and Andrew to the right.
Both at the same time, the boys tried to open the chests. They were both locked. I moved to Drew first and used the Mirror to unlock it, then to Andrew. Both pulled out Sigils. Yuna looked amazed that two Sigils were found in the same place, while I was counting the crests and sigils we already had. We had all but Auron's sigil, the Star sigil, the water crest, the Air sigil, the Fire sigil, and the Comet Crest. There also had to be a special weapon for Spencer. So that meant that I had to look everywhere.
We exited Bevelle and realized it was getting dark. Rikku then mentioned that there was a rest spot nearby, and it would be good for a campsite. Rikku lead us to the perfect spot, not too far from the entrance to the Calm Lands. And a big plus was that there didn't seem to be that many fiends there. So we prepared to camp for the night.
It didn't take long for Rikku to decide to climb a tree. When she came down for food, she had something in her hand. She walked over to me and handed me what she had found. It was a crest with the symbol of water. So that was another Crest down. We set up watches and Ben got the first watch. So I laid down and tried to get some rest.
Daylight had broken by the time we all were up and ready to go. We made our way to the Calm Lands next. I led the way to the Monster Arena, and when we got there, the Arena guy had lots to give us. It was mostly items that we could use, but the one chest was locked. I held out the Celestial Mirror once more and Spencer reached into the chest.
When he removed his hand, he had a Sigil with the symbol of air. That only left his weapon to be found. Something told me that we should check all of the Calm Lands. So searching we went. Well after we claimed Auron's Sigil as well.
When we were sure that it wasn't in the Calm Lands proper, we headed to the gorge. As we approached, Spencer said that he felt a pull. I knew we were close. I let him lead the way and followed the path to where we pulled the rusty sword. But we went farther, following the path to the end where a chest sat. I already had the Mirror ready and once we got close, I shone the light on the chest. The lock sprung open and Spencer grabbed the sword inside.
We made our way back to the bridges to Mt. Gagazet, and once there Spencer uttered a word. Hoshimaru. I took it as the name of the weapon and continued on. The Ronso greeted us and asked us what was going on. That is when we told them that we were heading back to Zanarkand. They seemed pleased, and so we told them about the airship.
"When an airship starts singing the Hymn, we need everyone to sing along. It will help us get rid of Sin for good." I explained. Yuna nodded and then the Ronso agreed to sing. We knew the path by now so it didn't take that long to get over the mountain.
As night fell, we entered Zanarkand and made camp where we had once had. After a night's rest, we trekked on. The fiends were weaker here then before...or we were stronger. I couldn't tell which. We made it to the dome in record time, and to the right was a chest. Opening it with the Mirror, we found the Fire Sigil.
I figured we would find the rest of what we needed here in Zanarkand. Onward we went. A half a dozen fiends later we were at the trials. Going into it, we made our way to the lift. I didn't know if we missed some things but I was going to check every inch of Zanarkand for anything and everything.
Down the lift we went, and into the chamber we went. Marrissa, Spencer, and Drew's eyes went wide. Sunny, Ben, and Andrew all looked passively at the fayth stone. That is when I noticed that there was a chest that wasn't there before. I pulled out the Celestial Mirror just in case.
When the lid wouldn't open, I used the Mirror and the lid popped open. Inside was a crest with a comet symbol on it. Yuna looked at me questionably but didn't say a word. That is when Yuna asked me how far we were going, and I told her all the way.
We passed thru the doorway to the antechamber and found a chest to the right of the stairs that lead to where we fought Yunalesca. Opening with the Mirror that I still had in my hand, it was a sigil with the star on it. I did a quick count and realized we had them all. So I knew what that meant.
I lead the group to the outside of the dome where Cid and the Airship was waiting. I still wasn't sure that we were ready to take on Sin, even with our Celestial Weapons. But we still had to unlock them. So back to Macalania Woods. We boarded the airship, and I told Cid that we needed to go to Macalania Woods for our Special Weapons. He nodded and said it would take an hour. We chose to spend the hour resting.
When we got there I led the group to the hidden path that we had unblocked during our first visit. As we climbed high into the treetops, Yuna looked at me and asked if I knew where I was going. Just then the road forked and a path led up to the great flower. I handed Yuna the Moon Crest, Moon Sigil, and Celestial Mirror and told her to go up to it. She only seemed to be able to hear what was said but presented her weapon along with the crest and sigil. A bright light shone and the crest and sigil were gone, leaving Yuna with her Celestial Weapon all powered up.
Once she was done, she gave her first order as a summoner. Everyone was to talk to the flower after getting what they needed from me. So one by one, they grabbed their crests and sigils and headed to the flower. After Yuna's party had gone, it was my group's turn.
I went first, and it told me that mine was the Star Crest and Sigil. I held those up and Sakura in Bloom. A flash of light and the crest and sigil was gone. Next up, Drew stepped forward with the Pluto Crest and Sigil and headed up to the flower. After his light flashed, he stepped back to us. Andrew stepped forward and headed up to the flower. After a moment, a light flashed and his weapon shimmered. He returned and vowed yet again to protect me.
After that, the rest took their turn. Marrissa's weapon's horn went from gold to silver, but that was the only other change. Now we needed to get used to fighting with our weapons. It didn't take long for Drew and Yuna, but the rest of us had a little trouble. By the time we made it to the Calm Lands again, we had all worked enough with our weapons to make due. I took the longest, mostly because I wasn't as used to a longsword as I should have been.
The airship was waiting for us. We entered the ship and Cid asked if we were going to defeat Sin. When I said that we were as ready as we could be, he said he would look for Sin while we rested. I led my guardians to our resting quarters and as soon as my head hit the pillow, I was asleep. I don't know how long I was out for, but I awoke to Drew calling my name. I tried to turn over, but that is when he said that it was time to fight Sin. That woke me up.
I got up to the roof of the airship just in time to see Yuna and her guardians start to engage in battle. That is when I started barking out orders. I knew that we were being pulled in by Sin and that we had hurt it enough to stop the attack. Lulu and Marrissa started by casting high-level spells. I told Yuna to save her summoning power. We would need it later. As soon as we got close enough, I ordered the rest to attack with all they had. It seemed like an eternity, but in reality, it only took about half an hour.
Next was the arms. Those were the easy part, and they only took about twenty minutes each. We jumped on Sin's back and took out a couple of nodes that were on it. As Sin started to fall on Bevelle, we jumped back on the airship and I told them to prepare themselves.
Everyone watched as Sin grew wings and came back at us after falling on Bevelle. We were ready for Sin. We fought hard and soon Sin was busted open. As Cid moved the airship toward the opening, I moved down into the ship. Racing down to the bridge, I had to talk to Cid. When I got there, Cid asked what the problem was.
"I needed to talk to you before we enter Sin completely. This will take a couple of days to defeat him completely, and we will need a place to rest. Can you stay close to us?" I panted. He nodded and soon the rest made their way to the bridge.
