22. Delivery

She eyes the body on the floor. A low moan pierces the quiet.

In hindsight, it could have gone better.

Here's how it starts:

"What do you think? Break it to him gently? Or the direct approach?

"I'm scared," she confides. "Books didn't prepare me for this. And without Dalia or Mother…" Gentle growling interjects. "Of course I have you… Uncle Rajah." She cups a not-yet-round belly, suddenly rumbling with laughter. "Could be scarier, right? I could have a whole litter in here!"

Naturally, the new arrival from the balcony went unnoticed.

Thankfully, Carpet breaks the fall.
