The holotape clicked on to the steady hum of electric lights. Water was dripping nearby and a male voice was muttering to himself in a nearby room. Ryleigh shifted her weight and the metal flooring she was standing on creaked.

"Well."

Ryleigh sounded completely perplexed. The silence dragged on for a few minutes as she stood there. She cleared her throat.

"Tabor tried to fucking lobotomize me. He'd been doing it to everyone and sending them to the cathedral to grow punga fruit. Then he'd harvest and sell it. Found Nadine, the missing kid. She tracked down Tabor. I shot him. She owns the ferry boat now. Probably going to keep smuggling and selling the fruit but without the brain surgery."

She pulled something out of her pack and stared at it for a moment. Liquid sloshed inside a small glass container.

"Got the piece of brain back. It's still in a jar. I'm not really sure why I took it."

She put the jar back and scratched the back of her head. The puzzlement and disbelief at the situation did not dissipate but her voice began to sound almost bored as she quickly recounted the rest of the adventure.

"Went back to see Desmond Lockheart, the ghoul that set me off on this goose-chase. His rival, Professor Calvert, had been using the tribals. Both of them pre-war though via different means. The Professor blew up the mansion Desmond was staying in, Desmond escaped, I went with Desmond, we fought through a bunker beneath the lighthouse and the rivals were face to face. I sided with Desmond."

Another pause. Ryleigh kicked a chunk of glass off the metal platform and it clattered down into a pit, banging off of metal pipes along the way.

"I just shot a brain in a tank. A very talkative brain."

The baffled scowl on her face was audible. She shifted her weight again to look towards where Desmond was still muttering to himself. Her sigh was equal parts bewilderment, exhaustion, and borderline disgust.

"Yeah."
