So... Trigger warnings at the beginning of this chapter include graphic depictions of rape/non-con (I'm sorry I swear this is one of the last ones), degradation, and swearing, a sense of helplessness. Second half of the chapter deals with minor panic attacks, decently detailed discussions about about the trigger warnings from the first half, and basically self deprecation throughout the whole chapter. I hope that is everything, please tell me if it's not. As always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.
"Virgil, kitty, wake up," a voice cooed into the sleeping side's ear.
Virgil let out a sleepy groan as he tried to register who was talking to him. He had spent the night in his bedroom with Patton so it was probably him trying to get up so he could go make breakfast. He blinked open his eyes, only to find the room too dark to actually see anything other than a silhouette beside him.
"Patt? What time is it?" Virgil asked, his words slurring together in his half asleep state.
"Took you long enough to wake up."
The familiar cold hiss of the voice made Virgil go tense, immediately waking up. His eyes grew wide as he watched the dark silhouette move into a sitting position. Virgil's heart hammered in his chest as he silently begged the universe to let him be wrong. His ears and tail popped out as fear turned his blood to ice. His ears folded back as a quiet growl rumbled in his throat, the fur on his tail bristling up. The figure reached his hand up towards Virgil and his stomach dropped when he saw the all too familiar yellow. He let out a cry as he threw himself backwards, crashing the ground. He scrambled to his feet, bolting to the door, his breaths picking up, his lung taking up more air than he was releasing. He reached for the handle of the door and tried to twist it but found himself met with resistance. The door was somehow locked with him inside the room instead of the other way around. He couldn't get out. His vision began to blur with panic as he continued to frantically jiggle the handle and slam his other hand loudly against the door. Patton should have been in the room with him, why wasn't he there? Had he abandoned him? There was no way. He could hear the laughter of several individuals behind him mocking his desperation.
"Roman! Logan! Patton! Someone please! Anyone! Help! I need help," Virgil wailed, praying that Deceit hadn't soundproofed his room.
"Aww, you think your cute little friends are going to come rescue you. That's funny…" The lights flicked on as Deceit spoke. "Because they totally aren't the ones who need to be rescued right now."
Virgil's eyes widened as he turned around and came face to face with something that struck him with more fear than he could have ever imagined. All of the light sides were tied up and gagged, the dark sides holding them down on the floor.
"No…" Virgil breathed as he pressed his back against the door.
He continued to chant that simple word as he slid down the door and onto the floor, his fingers twisting into his soft and tangled hair. He could hear Deceit's footsteps as he approached and the tears began to burn at his eyes. He couldn't breath. He was going to die. Firm fingers wrapped around his arm, forcefully pulling his up and throwing him back against the bed. Virgil shakily tried to get back to his feet and tried to turn back to Deceit. The snake-like man was already there pushing down against the mattress. Virgil let out another screaming cry as he tried to shove Deceit off of him. It was like pushing against a boulder he wouldn't budge and inch. Deceit's hands grabbed for Virgil's wrists pinning them up over his head, smirking down at Virgil's terrified expression.
"How naughty, didn't I train you better than that, Pet? You know I'm going to have to punish you for this," Deceit said with mock sympathy.
He snapped his fingers and Virgil's clothing vanished, leaving him in nothing but the ring hanging from his neck. Virgil could hear the muffled protests of his boyfriends off to his side as they struggled to free themselves from their captors. Deceit's hand moved down to grab at the ring and pull it upwards, the string digging painfully into the back of his neck.
"What's this?" Deceit hummed before his eyes rested on the initials on the inside of the band. "Oh, I see now. It's a collar. What a pitiful slut. You can't stand the thought of not submitting to another's control, can you? You have to have someone control you, own you, dominate you. Admit it."
Deceit's other hand moved to Virgil's shoulder pinning him down roughly, fingers digging into his skin. Virgil let out soft whimpers as he continued to try to push back his attacker.
"I-it's not like that!" Virgil argued meekly, his eyes pinching closed.
Deceit tsked at him and moved both of his hands to ever so gently run his fingers along Virgil's exposed skin. The smaller side couldn't stop the shivers that ran through his body at the touches. This was too light, too gentle. Bad things were coming, really bad things. Virgil whimpered as he tried to mentally prepare himself for the worst.
"You've been really bad, Pet. Tell me, what punishment do you think fits?" Deceit hissed into his ear.
Virgil barely suppressed a sob. He didn't want to choose. He didn't want to be the one giving the order to hurt himself. On top of that if he chooses wrong, Deceit would make his punishment even worse.
"Tick Tock Virgil," Deceit warned.
Virgil's heart pounded as he tried to think of something, anything at all to say that would please Deceit. He could barely even maintain a single train of thought long enough to actually come up with anything.
"Times out. I guess I'll be the one deciding," Deceit said, running a finger along Virgil's jaw line.
He shuttered in response and let himself go limp. He couldn't escape. It was better to just accept it and get it over with.
"Oh no, Pet, I'm not going to be doing anything to you personally. I think I have something planned that will be a lot more painful."
The cold hum of Deceit's voice made Virgil let out a whimper. He didn't understand what Deceit meant until he looked up to see Deceit looking toward the dark sides.
"Oh, oh! Is that permission Dee? I've been dying to play with little Lo-Lo here!" Remus said as he licked the intelligent side's face.
Deceit gave a small nod and the light sides's muffled voices grew in volume. They were dragged further away from each other by the dark sides and pushed down. Virgil tried to get up and reach out for them but Deceit forcefully slammed him back down onto the mattress.
"No, please! Don't touch them! I'll do anything, please don't-!" Virgil begged, tears freely pouring from his eyes.
Deceit's hands wrapped around Virgil's throat, turning his words into quiet gargles. Virgil desperately tried to pull Deceit's hands away but his grip only got stronger.
"Come on now, don't you think you think you're being a bit selfish? Don't you think your boyfriends deserve a little fun once in a while. I bet they were just dying to taste the dicks that made you a fucking whore," Deceit hissed.
Deceit began to grind his thigh against Virgil's naked groin, the rough fabric of his pants moving painfully against the sensitive skin. He hated this. He wanted it all to end. Yet still, he would take a thousand times worse pain and discomfort to end the pain sounds and sobs that came from off to his side. Virgil went limp, giving up on struggling and trying to desperately gasp for even a tiny breath of air. His heart jumped in irregular patterns as his lungs burned. He tried to look out of his peripheral vision to see what was going on off to his side but black dots made the task impossible.
"Have you calmed down yet?" Deceit hummed.
Virgil continued to just lay there, there wasn't much else he could do anyways. Deceit let go of his throat and grabbed a fist full of hair to yank him up. Virgil gasped and coughed, lightly holding his aching throat as air once again passed through his lungs. His vision slowly returned and he came to realize what Deceit had was forcing him to see. He immediately closed his eyes and turned his head away but the image was already burned into his mind. Deceit forcefully grabbed his chin and forced it back in the right direction.
"Take a nice long look at what you forced me to do. Remember, this is all your fault," Deceit hissed.
Virgil obeyed him and opened his eyes, choking on his sobs. He looked down at the horrific scene on the bedroom floor that was accompanied by the sickening sounds he had already been hearing. Remus, as he had said before, had pinned Logan down to the floor. He bounced happily on top of Logan's penis, laughing like a mad man, as his tentacles slithered around Logan's body and into his ass. Virgil could make out that behind the stoic expression he was trying to keep in place there was a look of disgust and pain glimmering in his eyes. The next closest, to Logan's right, was Roman who had been ungagged and his face forced down into Vanity's lap, deepthroating him. His hips had been pulled up into the air where Rage was aggressively taking him from behind, digging his claws into his hip bone enough to draw blood. Roman's skin was already red and darkening with what would eventually be bruises from where Rage had likely hit him a few times for trying to fight back. He looked sickly green, likely from being choked by the organ pushing down his throat, and there were faint tear stains running down his cheeks. Finally to Roman's other side was Patton whose front end was pressed against the ground with his rear in the air, Greed folded over your back. Unsurprisingly Patton was the most expressive of the light sides, sobbing into his gag, tears running down his face.
This wasn't right. They didn't deserve this, this was something that Virgil alone should have to deal with. He didn't care what happened to him, he'd do anything to take their pain away. They shouldn't have to feel as disgusting and used as he did.
"Morality seems to be quite upset. I think he could use a little cheering up," Deceit hummed into Virgil's ear before pushing him off the bed towards Patton.
Virgil shakily pushed himself up on his hands and knees looking over at Deceit curiously, unsure of what he wanted. Deceit got down off the bed and roughly grabbed Virgil by one of his cat ears to pull him closer to Patton. Greed looked up at Deceit for a moment before letting out a brief mutter about not wanting to share. He then repositioned himself and Patton so they were both balanced on their knees, Patton bent slightly forward as Greed continued to move inside of him. Deceit let go of Virgil and crossed his arms.
"Go on Pet, you know what to do," he said.
Sadly, Virgil did understand now what Deceit wanted. He could hear Patton trying to cry something out around his gags but Virgil felt too ashamed to look up at him. He leaned down as he knew he was supposed to and tentatively licked the half hard penis, taking a bit of pride in the fact it twitched a little at the attention. He moved all the way down, taking his boyfriend's penis into his mouth as far as he could without choking. Greed's movements pushed Patton in and out of Virgil's mouth and Virgil focused on moving his tongue against the different sensitive spots he had learned over the years. He wanted Patton to feel good. He couldn't stop the pained sounds that rang out beside him, and frankly he was too ashamed to look at either of the other two, but at least he could help Patton a little, give him something pleasurable about this experience.
Hands rubbed against Virgil's exposed rear that was raised slightly in the air, his tail pressed submissively against his privates to hide them.
"I suggest you move that tail of yours Kitty," Deceit hissed warningly.
Virgil let out a whine around Patton and did as he was ordered, his tail moving to hang over his hips. Deceit's hands rubbed him for a few more seconds before he felt two large, hard objects pressing against him, one threatening to enter him. Virgil let out a shuttered breath through his nose as he focused on relaxing so he wouldn't accidentally bite down on Patton in what he knew was going to come. Deceit pushed one of his penises in, the other rubbing down between Virgil's legs against his own limp one. Virgil let out a muffled cry, his chest sinking in dread as his once nearly healed body was once again defiled because of his own helplessness. Perhaps this was where he belongs. That was the reason he couldn't escape. He deserved to be abused. Deceit had been telling him that for years, he had to be treated this way. It was the only way to make him fulfill his role properly, the only way to really help Thomas.
Deceit's movements inside of him were painful, shoving him forward in time with Greed so that Patton's penis was forced deep down his throat. He tried to forget about it, forget about everything for just a moment and think about only Patton and how to please him. He had to make Patton feel better.
"Virgil," Patton said softly.
Virgil's head felt a little fuzzy as he shifted back and forth, unable to repress a choked groan of pain.
"Virgil," Patton said a little more urgently.
He didn't know what Patton wanted. Then again, how was he even talking? Had Greed or Deceit taken off his gag?
Virgil's head felt fuzzy and his vision was growing darker. He decided he probably wasn't getting enough oxygen into his lungs and he was going to pass out. He miserably groaned on the inside knowing that he would likely be punished by all of the dark sides if he passed out. At least it might distract them from the others and give them a break.
"Virgil honey, you need to wake up!" Patton said again.
Virgil groaned softly as he peaked his eyes slightly open. Through his eyelashes he could make out Patton's face, looming over him, tears falling down his face. He blinked a few more times before realizing he was on his bed again, wearing his pajamas. He glanced around and saw the soft morning sunlight through his curtains, glowing as it hit Patton's trembling figure. On the other side of the room Virgil saw Logan and Roman both standing a few steps away, looking just as concerned as Patton.
"Oh, Kitten," Patton whispered sweetly through his tears.
Virgil still felt dazed as he looked around his surroundings before focusing on Patton. He looked down and noticed that Patton's hands were twitching as he held back the urge to hug him. Virgil didn't give much thought to his actions and raised his hands slightly, inviting the fatherly side to embrace him. Patton didn't waste a single second as he pounced down on Virgil, bringing him into a comforting, warm hug. His left hand moved to the back of Virgil's neck, softly giving gentle, soothing strokes. Virgil practically collapsed into his shoulder, letting everything melt away. He could feel the dull ache in his body growing quieter.
"How are you feeling, Baby? Are you alright?" Patton asked worriedly.
A lump formed in Virgil's throat as he began to question what had happened. He didn't know if any of it had been real or just a dream. He had to know, but he couldn't bring himself to ask.
"Bathroom," Virgil muttered after a moment. "Please."
"Hm?" Patton questioned, pushing Virgil back slightly. "Do you need me to take you to the bathroom?"
Virgil gave a weak nod and let Patton help him to his feet. Patton held Virgil around his shoulders pulling him into his side protectively as they made their way to the restroom, Virgil angling them towards the sink and mirror. Virgil's hands pressed against the cold marble countertop as he forced himself to look up at his reflection. He looked, paler than normal and his hair clung to the sweat on his forehead. His black cat ears and tail were out, his ears pressed down flat against his head and his tail wrapped submissively around his left leg. His fingers tentatively went up to touch his neck where he could still feel the phantom pains of being choked. There were no red marks or bruising at all. Virgil turned to Patton, grabbing for his wrist. He pulled back Patton's long sleeves to reveal the unblemished skin that should have bore some sort of rope burn if the events of last night had been more than a dream.
Virgil couldn't help but begin to laugh, tears rolling down his cheeks as relief crashed over him. He still felt like garbage, he was scared, nauseous, and could still feel pangs of phantom pain throughout his body, but still felt such relief at the fact it hadn't actually happened even though it felt like it had. Virgil fell against Patton's chest again, clinging to the ring dangling from his neck.
"It was just a dream. I thought…" Virgil said, losing his voice in the mess of laughing sobs.
"Shh, everything's alright, Kitten. You're safe. All of us are right here, just the four of us, no one else. You're safe," Patton soothed, wiping away some of Virgil's tears away with his thumb.
"We're all safe," Virgil murmured, leaning into Patton's hand, his ears twitching happily.
They were all safe. He hadn't failed all of them. He didn't let them all get hurt.
"Are you feeling better now, Darling?" Logan asked as he and Roman cautiously entered the bathroom, careful not to over crowd the anxious side.
Virgil's stomach twisted at the question. He was so relieved it hadn't actually happened but that didn't stop the images from replaying in his head. It didn't stop him from hearing the muffled screams still ringing in his ears or seeing them there on the floor every time he blinked. He never wanted to experience that fear and anguish again. He never wanted them to suffer for him again. They were strong through, stronger than him. They wouldn't fall victim to what happened in his dream. They would probably hate him for even dreaming about them being that weak.
"Virgil, Darling, look at me," Logan said.
Virgil's train of thought came to a halt when he realized he was sitting on the ground, Logan kneeling in front of him.
"Can you try breathing with me, please?" Logan requested, his finger gently tapping out the familiar 4, 7, 8 rhythm on his knee.
Virgil took a few quick, shuttered breaths before he was able to make an attempt to follow Logan's counts, another couple before he could do it successfully.
"That was great, Virgil. Are here with us again?" Roman asked, comfortingly rubbing a small circle at the base of Virgil's cat ear.
Virgil let out a soft hum as he nodded.
"Would you like to discuss the cause of your distress?" Logan suggested.
Virgil looked away from Logan and pressed more against Roman in an attempt to get more comfort.
"I just… It really felt real. I thought…" Virgil trailed off biting down on his lower lip.
"Why don't we head downstairs for breakfast and continue this conversation down there?" Patton suggested quickly, taking the immediate attention off of Virgil.
Virgil nodded gratefully and Roman helped him stand back up before he moved his hands behind Virgil's knees, waiting for Virgil's permission.
"May I, my Dark Knight?"
"You're ridiculous Princey," Virgil muttered with a fake pout.
Despite what his words he wrapped his arms around Roman's neck. The creative side laughed and picked Virgil up and held him like a princess.
"But you love it," he said, lovingly nuzzling Virgil's hair.
Patton stood there smiling at the two of them in an almost dreamlike trance, until Logan placed his hands on his shoulder and reminded Patton that they were supposed to be going to breakfast. The moral and logical sides sank out of the room to the kitchen while the prince continued to cuddle his still shaken boyfriend for a few more minutes before manually carrying him downstairs to meet up with the others. As they left his room Virgil looked over Roman's shoulder at the purple door swinging closed behind them. His stomach twisted as he thought about it. He knew the room literally couldn't be at fault but he still blamed it for everything. He never thought he would be able to hate a room in the light side of the mindscape this much.
Downstairs Patton was making a very simple breakfast of cereal, as everyone was a bit overwhelmed by what had happened that morning and likely wouldn't want to wait for anything to cook. After a few complaints about nutrition from Logan, Patton put a dollop of yogurt, some blueberries, and a few cut up strawberries in each bowl before placing them on the table. Roman gently placed Virgil down in his seat before kissing his forehead and taking his place in the seat beside him.
"Thank you, Patton," Virgil murmured, pushing a spoonful of food in his mouth, ignoring the nausea that was creeping up inside him.
He knew Patton would be more worried if he didn't eat, even if he wasn't hungry. He wouldn't really throw up from eating. Probably. His body was just trying to reject the awful images still burnt into his head from his dream last night.
"No problem Kiddo, I love taking care of you guys," Patton replied.
After those few shared words the kitchen fell into silence. Roman didn't discuss any of his new ideas for Thomas's videos. Logan didn't share any interesting facts he had read about. Patton didn't tell any jokes. It was completely silent. Virgil knew what was on their mind. They wanted to know what Virgil was so panicked about when he woke up. The frequency and intensity of his nightmares were getting worse again, of course they were worried about him and wanted to know what was going on. Even though he knew they were curious none of them wanted to be the one to bring it up. He didn't want to either. Not yet at least. He wanted to finish his food before he'd surely lose all of his minimal appetite explaining the disgusting images his mind managed to imagine.
His chair screeched loudly as it moved out from under the table when he stood up. Virgil quietly cleaned his now empty bowl and placed it in the dishwasher. He took a long breath, checking his pulse to prove to himself he wasn't dying with one hand and grabbing his ring with the other. He returned to his seat, pulling his knees up to his chest.
"I'm guessing you want me to talk now…" Virgil said after a bit of hesitation.
"O-only if you want to! We aren't forcing you to do anything you don't want to," Patton replied concernedly.
"Indeed, I have told you before that talking through your experiences, emotions and thoughts can be helpful but only if they are what you are ready to say," Logan added.
Virgil hesitated a moment, fidgeting with his ring to remove it from his neck and place it on his finger instead, letting him momentarily focus on something besides his boyfriends.
"I- I do want to talk about it. It just really scared me. I don't want to worry you guys with it," Virgil said in a quiet slow manner before adding, "Or have you judged me."
"Virgil, if something is bothering you and you are willing to share it then we want to know, you don't have to worry about it. And we will never judge you or think anything of that nature about anything you say," Roman replied, reassuringly rubbing the cat ears Virgil had yet to hide away.
Virgil couldn't help but smirk and let out a breath at Roman's action. He really did take advantage of that little trick Patton had shown him every chance he got. Virgil found it rather amusing, it was just so predictable for Roman and it really did help him keep calm.
"A-as I said, it was a really realistic dream. I was woken up by Deceit and I tried to run but the door was stuck," Virgil hesitated a moment, reminding himself to keep his breaking in check. "I tried to call out for you but you were all already in the room… they had caught all of you. Tied you up and gagged you, right there on the floor of my room. Deceit grabbed me and forced me down onto the bed and…"
Everyone in the room was already distraught by the mental image Virgil was metaphorically painting for them. Roman stopped petting him and opened up his arms.
"Would you like to be held, Love?" Roman asked.
Virgil nodded and slid out of his chair and onto Princey's lap so that he was nestled comfortably in his strong arms. Virgil's head rested on his chest, facing to the side so he could still see Logan and Patton.
"H-he kept telling me a lot of bad things. Things I'm really sensitive about," Virgil said, playing with the ring on his finger.
"What sort of things?" Logan asked cautiously.
Virgil shook his head, hoping that would be a clear enough indicator he didn't want to talk about that yet. Logan gave an understanding nod to let Virgil continue.
"He said I needed to be punished. I thought… I thought he was going to rape me or hit me or something but he… he had something else in mind," Virgil's fingers clung tightly to Roman's tanktop. "He did it to you guys instead. He told me it would hurt me more and it did. I hated it. He was strangling me and all I could do was lie there and hear it. I hated it! And when I was able to see it… God I still can't get that image out of my head. I felt so sick, I still feel sick. I hated seeing you all in that situation. It was terrifying, I'd never felt anything like that. A-and then when Deceit ordered me to… To pleasure one of you as well… and I did… I-"
Virgil's face burned with shame as he shifted his eyes away from Patton. He didn't feel the need to mention anything that Deceit had physically done to him in the dream, it wasn't relevant to why he had been so distraught. Even still Roman was running his fingers through his hair soothingly, rocking him in a slow back and forth on the chair.
"Thank you for trusting us enough to say that, Virgil, it was very brave of you. I'd be really scared if I had a dream like that too, I can't imagine what I'd do if something happened to any of you," Patton said, his furrowing sympathetically.
"And we'll never let it happen to anyone. This house is safe and sealed and if we ever see them causing trouble again, I swear upon my love for all of you, I won't let trouble befall any of you," Roman said, before bouncing Virgil in his laps again and hugging him tightly. "Now, how about we go into the living room, put on some good movies and cuddle up in a giant pile of pillows and blankets?"
Virgil chuckled a bit at Roman's behavior. Roman always was good at keeping Virgil distracted when he was feeling down. He really could count on all three of them to help him feel better.
"Yeah. Yeah that sounds great," Virgil replied.
Patton squealed in joy, jumping up from his seat in excitement.
"I'll take care of the dishes. I'm sure you and Patton are more than capable of creating your 'pillow fort'," Logan said, unable to hide the small smirk on his face.
As agreed Roman and Patton summoned piles of pillows and blankets, plopping Virgil down in the center of all of them and building a comfortable nest around him. By the time Logan returned they were already stretching out blankets to cover their little den. Roman grabbed his Disney collection and decided to start at the beginning with Snow White and see many Disney animated films they could get through in one day.
"Hey guys, I've been having a lot of mood swings, are you all oka-"
At about one o'clock, mid way through Cinderella, Thomas popped up in the living room.
"Heya Thomas!"
"Salutations."
"Good afternoon Thomas."
"Hey…"
"What are you guys up to?" Thomas chuckled.
"Binge watching every Disney animated film in order," Roman replied.
"Care to join us?" Logan asked.
"Sure, I'd love to join in for a movie or two," Thomas said, crawling into their little fort.
Patton pulled Virgil closer to his warm chest, giving Thomas more room to squeeze in between him and Roman. Logan remained on Patton's other side, his hand casually reaching over to rub Virgil's knuckles. The usually anxious side smiled softly into a pillow. It was strange. Even after having such a bad nightmare, he felt so safe in the company of all of his loved ones. The heat of their bodies pressing against each other for a long period of time would normally make him at least a little claustrophobic but not right now. Right now he loved this warmth more than anything else in the world.
