Hi guys... I'm starting to rewrite while in quarantine and wrap up all my stories, so here's another update of this one. I'm hoping to update 2/3 of my books once a week. Drop a review with your opinions and what you'd like to see happen in this books!

The more reviews I see, fuels my motivation. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!

Jay rummaged around the kitchen, looking for his protein powder. Another thing Erin did while he was gone was reorganize. Everything. And as much as he appreciated it, he couldn't find anything he needed.

He finally found the powder, along with all his other protein foods in a cabinet where he use to keep his cereal in. Now where was his damn cereal? Jay glanced at the clock, seeing it was just pass five in the morning.

Today was the most important day of the year, Opening Day. He was ready. He was excited. He already went on his daily run around the neighborhood, too. They had to be at the stadium by eight thirty, ceremonies starting at ten. First pitch at 1:05. He should probably wake up Erin, god knows how long it'll take her to get ready, but he wanted to surprise her with breakfast.

He got to work on their morning breakfast, the usual eggs and toast. Erin never liked eating breakfast often, it would upset her stomach usually. But, he was hoping that the new protein shakes he had her addicted to would payoff in the end. In between flipping the eggs, he would occasionally glance at ESPN, which he had playing on the tv. It wasn't even six am, but in the first weeks of April, which consisted of thirty different opening day coverages, those reporters didn't get any sleep. They were already talking about the Blue Jays v. Yankees game. First pitch was a mere eight hours away.

Jay made sure he went to bed early last night. It was opening day, which means lots of press. He needed to look fresh. Erin believed otherwise, attempting to seduce him to stay up late with her and engage in a few rounds of scrabble, but, with a lot of willpower, Jay had disagreed and promised there would be plenty of other nights to play their favorite game.

Sprinkling salt and pepper on her eggs, and setting them on the plate aside the toast, he finished pouring the creamer into her coffee freshly brewed by their beloved Keurig. As he prepared to begin the journey upstairs to their bedroom, he heard the creaking of their wood floors and turned around to see Erin walking into the kitchen, her tousled hair making her ten times cuter in Jay's eyes. "Morning." She muttered, her voice laced with sleep still.

Jay moved to set their plates at the bar, alongside their coffee, then he shuffled over to Erin and embraced her in a hug, kissing her forehead, her scent intoxicating him. "Morning, love." He smiled as he continued to embrace her. "So, I made breakfast and coffee. We have to be to the stadium by eight thirty, which means we have to leave here by seven forty five. By the time we're done eating, it'll be quarter to six, so that gives you almost two hours to get ready and-"

"Jay," She laughed as she patted his shoulder and moved to sit at the bar. "I love you, I really do, but I haven't had any coffee and the sun isn't even up."

Jay rolled his eyes, forgetting how she was not a morning person. At all. "Sorry," He whispered, taking a seat next to her. "Well, let me know when you decide you want to talk."

"Jay, stop being a smart ass. It's not cool." Erin shot.

"Woah, Er, it was a joke," He munched on his toast, devouring the last piece. "I know you're not a morning person. Hear me out, it's Opening Day, I'm excited!"

"Jay," Erin spoke softly, looking down at her plate. "I understand that. I'm sorry I snapped."

"You're fine. Sorry I talk a lot. I love you."

"Erin, Jay!" The couple looked up to see Antonia, Sylvie, and their kids walking towards them in the parking garage. Okay, the kids were running to see Uncle Jay and Erin.

"What's up, kiddos?" Jay laughed as they embraced him in a hug.

"We're riding with you and mom and dad!" Emma jumped up and down. "Erin, you look pretty!" She looked at Erin, who was just wearing denim shorts and a white tank top, with her boyfriend's jersey acting like a jacket. Her hair was in light curls, with simple makeup.

"Thanks, Em," Erin smiled. "You look gorgeous too! Did your mom do your braids?" She asked, referring to the two Dutch braids.

"No, dad did."

"Oh, wow!" Erin glanced at Antonio. "I didn't realize you braided."

"It's a good bonding experience." Antonio smiled as the families walked into the stadium. "Jay, I'll teach you how to braid when your kid is old enough."

Jay and Erin smiled at each other as they saw their other teammates. "Maybe one day." Jay smiled as he began mingling with others. As Jay gripped onto Erin's to pull her through the crowd, he lost contact for a split second as a blonde fell into his side. "Sorry," He smiled, but he took a double take as he recognized the blonde from anywhere. "Allie? What are you doing here?" Jay's body tightened as he looked his ex up and down. How the hell did she get in here? Why is she here?

"Oh, I'm here with Stephen," She smiled as she nodded over to where he was chatting with a few other players. "You look great, Jay. It's been a hot minute."

Jay rolled his eyes. They were unbelievable. Jay's body relaxed as he felt Erin's arm wrap around his. "Sorry I lost you, babe," Erin noticed his rigid muscles and looked at the blonde he was interacting with. "Who's this?"

"Er, this is Allie, my ex." Jay's grip on her tightened as he didn't know how this interaction would go over.

"Oh, how fun. I'm Erin, Jay's girlfriend. Are you here with a press pass or are you one of those VIP fans?" She was possessive of him. He was hers. Nobody else's.

"Nice to meet you! And neither, I'm here with Stephen. We went to high school together and he invited me to join him for Opening Day ceremonies," She smirked, knowing how much she intimidating them both. She was much more attractive than Erin. She should be here with Jay, not Stephen. But, this would be Erin's first and last game. After tonight. "I was actually here with Jay last year for Opening Day. You'll love it. Anyways, I have to go find Stephen, they're beginning to start the parade lineup, and I can't lose my place. I'll see you both later at Molly's."

Jay and Erin walked off, looking for their truck that they were to share with the Dawson's. "So, Jay..." Erin trailed off. "Allie? You've never mentioned her."

"I didn't think I needed to. We dated for two years, then got crazy, and I broke up with her last June. Almost a year ago. She made an appearance at Spring Training, but she was with Stephen. I didn't think much of it." He left out the part about them briefly kissing, which was not needed.

"Well, just, be careful. I don't like her. She's trying to intimidate us." Erin huffed as she got into the truck, Jay helping her up.

"Babe, she won't touch us. I won't let her." Jay promised. And he wouldn't. Not if he could help it. Jay waved at the Dawson's as they climbed into the truck, both of their kids babbling to one of the security guards.

"Halstead, what's going on?" Antonio asked as he noticed the couple in a serious conversation.

"You remember Allie?" Jay asked. They both nodded. "Well, she just 'ran into' Erin and I. She's here with Stephen." Jay rolled his eyes and spoke his name with venom. He despised Stephen. He tried to take Erin, the best thing he has, away from him.

"Oh god, what is he up to?" Sylvie asked. "I never like her, Jay. I told you that from the get go, but you didn't listen to me for two years. She used you for publicity I think. Have you seen her Instagram? She has thousands of followers because she tagged you in so many posts, and you had like two pictures of her on your page and didn't tag her."

"I know. I didn't think I'd hear from her again. I blocked her on everything. She didn't take the breakup well."

Erin sat there absorbing the conversation. So many questions went through her mind.

How serious were they?

Was Stephen and Allie planning something?

Did they live together?

Did she sleep in the same bed with Jay as she did?

She was snapped out of her thoughts but the truck's engine starting up and the wheels beginning to move. It was go time. She felt Jay's hand cover hers. "We'll continue this conversation later." She blatantly stated. Now was not the time. It was time for Jay to shine.

"Of course," He kissed her head. "Are you ready? This will be the first time you're introduced to my fans, really. They'll love you." Jay took out his cell phone and tossed it to Sylvie. "Will you take a picture of Erin and I once we get onto the field?" She smiled and nodded.

Jay had waited months to bring Erin into the public spotlight. She would get attention from the die hard fans. And as Jay became a key player for the Yankees' organization, she would become media speculation. Not to the extent that celebrities got, but she'd still get plenty.

Erin went to place her sunglasses on her eyes as they entered the field so she wouldn't be blind, but Jay stopped her momentarily, wanting to snap a photo. "Hey, wait. In going to have Sylvie take a picture of us so we'll always remember this moment."

Erin's heart melted as she leaned into Jay. His arm wrapped around her waist as he pulled her close. They both smiled brightly, Jay moving to press his lips against her head. Seconds later, the phone was back into Jay's hand and Erin's shades were covering her eyes. Jay pocketed his cell and looked around waving to all his loyal fans.

Erin's eyes widened as she saw the amount of people cheering as they circled the field. She felt overwhelmed and smiled, glancing over to see Sylvie waving at fans. She looked like a natural because she was. Her and Antonio were married for a few years and dated for god knows how long prior to their marriage. She was a pro at this. Erin followed everyone's lead, even the Dawson kids, and waved at fans. Jay noticed Erin's action and slid his hand up to rest on her knee to soothe the anxiety she was having.

He leaned over into her ear and whispered, "Overwhelming, right? You're doing great, though."

Erin smiled, realizing this was now her life. "You know," She whispered back, "There is nobody else I would want to share this life with rather than you." Jay grinned, kissing her forehead.

The couple may have been in their own little bubble, but two trucks away, Stephen and Allie thought otherwise. "Tonight we'll try to make a move, right?"

"Of course. That's me who is suppose to be with Jay. Not this woman. What the hell does she even do for a living?" Allie spat.

"She's a teacher I heard. But she's quitting her career to travel with Jay. Maybe they're planning on kids soon." Stephen added.

"He didn't want kids with me for two years, there is no way."

"I don't know, Al," Stephen reasoned. "But we'll end it."

"Erin!" Jay slurred as he found her with Jenny and Sylvie. They had won their first game, 3-2, with Jay scoring one of the three RBI's. They didn't go out to bars often, but tonight was an exception. They always went out after Opening Day. It was tradition.

The girls and guys split, Erin hanging around the wives and girlfriends, while the guys all talked and played pool. Jay had one too many beers in him, and so did Erin. They both had managed to avoid Stephen and Allie all day and night. They both actually had not seen either of them at the bar, which was relieving.

"Yes, my love?" Erin asked as she sized Jay up. He nuzzled her neck, taking in her intoxicating scent.

"I want you so bad." He slid his hand up and down her thigh as he pressed kisses down her neck.

"Jay, when we get home." She pushes against his chest, not wanting to give the team a show. She looked at her watch and saw that it was close to midnight. Antonio and Sylvie were her and Jay's DDs for the evening. Their kids were at home with Sylvie's sister, and they weren't a couple to get wasted. "We leave in like... twenty minutes."

"Mmkay," Jay muttered as he looked her in the eyes. "But, as soon as we're home... you're mine."

"Anything you say. All yours." She smirked as she turned her stool back to the ladies.

Jay smiled as he walked across the bar, more like stumbled, to the side door that led to the patio for some fresh air. He was the only one out there, or so he thought. He took a seat on one of the benches, nursing his draft, trying to keep his eyes open.

He felt his eyes drop asleep, but all that changing as he felt lips press against his neck. He kept his eyes closed resting against his hand. "Er," He groaned, as he felt a hand slide down to his thighs, cupping him through the khaki material, his pants tightening and a groan falling from his lips. "Er, baby," He whispered. "Don't make me take you on the table."

"You can take me wherever you want." The drunken voice seduced.

Jay may have been in a drunken state, but he still knew that was not his lover. He slid off the bench, swatting the stranger's hands away as he looked up, noticing the blonde. "For the last time, Allie. Leave me alone." His anger heightened as he walked towards the door, Allie grabbing his wrist and moving it to her inner thigh.

"Baby, please. Jay, don't you miss me? Miss my touch, my body?" Allie wasn't as drunk as Jay, just slightly tipsy. She did this on purpose. To remove the nerves and be bold. She glanced into the bar, seeing Stephen walk Erin's drunken self out the door.

"I'm with Erin, Allie. Accept that."

"If you're with her, then why did she just leave with Stephen? Hmmm?" She teased him.

Jay looked at her with pure disgust, the alcohol feeling quickly wearing off him. He made a beeline to the door, not worrying about Allie. He saw Antonio and grabbed his bicep, dragging him with him to the door.

"Jay, man what's going on?"

"Erin left with Stephen. She's drunk. She's been slamming shots with the girls all night." He opened the front door of the bar and saw Erin and Stephen steps ahead. Antonio held him back.

"Jay, for the sake of Erin and your career, stay here. I'll handle this." As much as Jay wanted to run after the prick that had his girl, he felt someone's arm hold his.

"Jay, I'm here." He noticed it was Sylvie and he stopped in his tracks as he watch Antonio run up to Stephen and Erin.

"Hey, what the hell is going on here?" Antonio yelled as he stood in front of Stephen, who had his arm around Erin who was hammered.

"I'm taking Erin home. I couldn't find Jay." Stephen shrugged his shoulders.

"You know damn well where Jay was," He grabbed Erin's hand, and Erin looked confused. "You better believe Mike will be hearing about this. You might be a Yankee now, but count your blessings because you won't be much longer." Before Antonio could say another word, Jay came out of nowhere and his fist connected with Stephen's as it raced across his face.

"Jay!" Erin yelled as her sobriety was beginning to make its return.

"You ever touch her again I swear to god, Stephen. I've told you twice now. There won't be a third." Jay shook his hand off as Stephen rubbed his jaw. Jay took Erin's hand, leading her to the Dawson's truck.

"Halstead, you just hit your teammate. You could get in trouble." Antonio mentioned. He knew Jay wouldn't remember much of this encounter, neither would Erin, due to the alcohol, but he did know one things: Jay could be just ended his career.

"I had to, man." He seethed as he gripped Erin's arm.

"I know. As far as I saw, you didn't lay a hand on him," Antonio replied. "You better hope to god there were no other witnesses, Jay."
