The patter of water droplets brought Jade back to consciousness as some dropped onto her pale visage. The goth shook her head and attempted to bring her hands to her damp face. Jade's hands halted just millimetres before her face. Baffled, she shook her pounding head again in attempt to force herself out of the painful haze she was in. After finally coming fully back to her senses, Jade gasped as she realised her hands- as well as her legs- were tied and she was in… well, wherever she was she knew it couldn't be anywhere that she wanted to be. As she writhed frantically, trying to free herself from the thick ropes binding her, a dark figure loomed over her. Jade's eyes widened in horror as the blurred, shadow of a person came into focus.

Beck threw his hands to his face.

He'd lost her! Again!

He'd promised that he wouldn't let anything happen to her. Now he'd let her down.

Thinking of what to do, Beck ran his fingers through his hair. As he did he winced in pain- his fingertips were smeared with red.

He walked over to his mirror which was laying on the floor, shattered, but still useable. He saw that a section of his hair was drenched in blood. Beck was completely bewildered, but just then the sight of the mirror brought back the distressing memories of what had gone down just a few hours ago.

Beck smiled softly as he finally got his petrified girlfriend to fall asleep. Reaching his hand out, Beck caressed her cheek. He didn't want to awake her, but Jade was a heavy sleeper, she could sleep through a war if there were one, so Beck caressed her without worry. Running his fingers through Jade's raven tresses, Beck wondered how the universe could've chosen such a Junoesque, witty, broken girl to traumatize like this. If anything, he thought he deserved this torture more than her. Well, in Beck's eyes, Jade was the last person on the Earth who deserved anything bad happen to them.

Just as Beck leaned down to plant a kiss on Jade's forehead, a rustle, an almost imperceptible sound, from outside made his ears prick up. Perhaps he was being overly paranoid, but he couldn't risk it. He couldn't risk losing her again.

Creeping over to the RV door, Beck skilfully evaded every area of the floor which was prone to creak. He reached his hand out to check the door was locked, despite having quadruple-checking it as Jade had ordered. However, before he could make contact with the handle, Beck noticed a scratching noise protruding from the door.

He halted, and the door swung open to reveal a pair of merciless eyes- emotionless, remorseless, grey pools that looked like they had stared straight into the jaws of hell and yet remained unfazed.

Kylian.

He threw a quick left hook but Beck dodged it, ducking down fleetly. Kylian however was just as quick and he forcefully kicked Beck to the ground, causing Beck to bang his head. Disoriented, items in the RV were nothing more than colours and shapes to him. With great effort, he lifted his head up to look over to his bed, and to his great relief, Jade was still sleeping soundly.

Phew.

Beck's vision came back, only to be met with the sight of his huge mirror being brought down on top of him at an alarming speed. Tactfully, he rolled out of the way to the side, dodging the attack by a hair. Kylian did not hesitate to attempt another strike though, and knocked Beck out just as he got back on his feet.

And then darkness.

"Oh my G*d…" Beck breathe aloud.

He whipped round to retrieve his Pearphone from his bedside table but faltered as the sudden movement caused him to stagger backwards. The blow to his head needed attending to, he knew, but right now that wasn't particularly high on his to-do list.

After taking a moment to regain his posture, Beck successfully made it to his phone. "Tori? I'm gonna need your help."

He tried to sound like his calm and collected self but after tonight he couldn't quite pull that off- his cool demeanour had somewhat dispersed the first time he lost Jade anyway- so his attempts certainly weren't fooling Tori.

"Beck, what happened? Are you alright? Do you need come over?"

"No, I'm not alright. And I do need to come over…" He let himself sink to the floor as head began to seem to throb uncontrollably, "but I don't think I am gonna be able to drive."

"Don't worry, I'm on my way."

No more than 15 minutes later Tori was parking in Beck's driveway. After much convincing from her friends, family- and just about everyone- she had finally agreed to take driving lessons. However, she had not yet acquired a car of her own and so took Trina's car.

"Hey." Beck greeted Tori as she stepped inside with a slight grin that looked like it was causing him pain.

As instructed, Tori hurried over to the cabinet where Beck kept his first aid kit and attended to his wound. Meanwhile, Beck proceeded to explain to Tori everything that happened that night.

"Oh my gosh…" Tori said as Beck finished catching her up. "Poor Jade."

"I know we're going to need help to get her back. But we know how well of a job the police did last time this happened." Beck rolled his eyes as he said this. "Kylian is clearly a dangerous guy, so we haven't got much time or room for error. The only police officer I really trust to do this right is your Dad."

"Well he left for work about half an hour before you called, so he should be there at the station if he hasn't been sent out on a new case."

"Let's go then, we haven't got any time to lose." Beck stood up a little too quickly and tottered.

"Are you sure you're ok?" Tori asked worriedly as she put a hand on Beck's shoulder to steady him.

"We haven't got time to worry about me". Beck said coldly as he brushed passed her towards the door. "It's Jade you need to be worried about."

Beck jumped slightly as Tori threw his first aid kit to the floor. "I am worried about her! You don't think I know that we've not got much time?! I care her about her too you know! But I also care about you, and I was just concerned that you might not be in the best state to help Jade right now."

Beck was taken aback, and Tori's face reddened to a rose hue. "Sorry."

"No, I'm sorry." Beck apologised as he went over to hug Tori. "I do know you're care about Jade. I'm just not in the right frame of mind right now. But, I know that's no excuse."

"It's ok, Beck." Tori said as she hugged him back. "I know it must be hard for you to go through this again."

"I know it's hard for you too. It will be for everyone." Beck pulled back from their embrace and looked reassuringly at her. "I'm ok. Really."

"Good." Tori nodded. "Now let's go."

Sparse was the police station early that morning. Only a handful of officers could be seen as the two friend crashed through the doors. A few were taking calls or attending to paperwork, while the majority were simply laughing away with colleagues or on their phones. This made Beck feel uneased, questioning how useful the police were going to be at this time.

Immediately, Tori was approached by an older than middle-aged but younger than elderly-looking police officer who greeted her with an inviting smile. "Tori! How nice to see you! You know, I've been telling your father he must bring you down to the station s-"

"Mr Jennings, I'm sorry but have you seen my father? It's an emergency."

It was only then that Mr Jennings noticed the dishevelled looking Beck next to his colleague's daughter, his eyes worn and his hair in shambles, and the distraught and desperate look on Tori's face.

"Oh dear, um, I think his first shift ended a few minutes ago, so he might have left for his break- but you may be able to catch him if you hurry."

Tori flew past the officer, with Beck on her heels, shouting back a "thank you" before disappearing around the corner.

"Tori, he's there!" Beck spotted David conversing with another officer no more than 6 meters away from them.

"Dad!"

David looked away from his colleague to see Tori and Beck charging over at full speed. "Tori? Beck? What are you guys doing here?"

"Jades been kidnapped." They announced unanimously.

David's face paled. "Bob, I'll talk to you later." He turned to his colleague as he opened his office door. "Come in."

Tori and Beck sat down at his desk and David shut the door before following suit.

"Now," the officer rested his elbows on his desk, littered with papers. "You both need to tell me everything that you know."

"Beck, I think you are better off explaining this." Tori decided as she turned to face Beck.

Beck sighed. "As you know, when Jade went missing the other year, we thought that Blake Jefferson took her, right?"

"Right. He did."

"Well, last night Jade told me about her abusive boyfriend she had during France-"

"Why has she only just told you about this now?"

"She thought I'd be mad and he started showing up yesterday, eventually outside her house. Then she came to me and told me everything. That's when we realised it must have been him and not Blake, seeing as she couldn't remember actually getting taken and he never actually did anything to hurt her. She has these bruises," Beck cringed at the thought. "And I'd always thought they were from Blake. And then this morning this guy came to my RV and took her. I tried to stop him but I couldn't take hi-"

"Dad?"

The concern in Tori's voice brought Beck back to the present. Throughout the course of his explanation he'd not been paying attention to either David or Tori.

David's had his head in his hands, eyes shut, and he was… almost… shaking?

"Dad, what's wrong?" She got no response. "Dad?"

"I'm sorry," He muttered in a strangled sort of voice. "I'm so sorry."

"What are you sorry for?" Beck inquired quizzically.

"This! Everything!" He bellowed threw his arms up in the air wildly. "Jade! France! Kylian! Blake!"

A tense moment of silence ensued. As realisation sunk in, the blood drained from Tori's face and Beck froze.

"…We never told you Kylian's name..." Beck spoke in a hushed voice, as if it was a truth so unbearable that no-one should ever know it.

Tori examined her father sceptically and tried to catch his eye, but David had now buried his face in his hands, his body still trembling.

"Dad… what have you done?"
