Words Aren't Enough

Chapter 24

Months Later

Lucas held on to Brooke's hand securely as her smiled beamed. The couple had just left the hospital after visiting Haley and her new daughter. Lydia Joy Scott. She was Haley's mini me. Aside from the Scott blue eyes.

"Lydia is a doll. And Jamie couldn't be happier to have a little sister." Brooke said.

"I guess their was a level of peace reached between Haley, Dan, and Deb because they were there visiting her and baby. Which is a good thing all that anger and stress was doing no one any favor's." Lucas said.

"Oh i know they were there. I felt their eyes burning into my back. If it was up to them Haley and I would have no friendship at all. I would be a stranger to Jamie and Lydia. I'm just grateful that Haley is doing well and will be able to move on. She doesn't care what they think. And neither do i." Brooke said.

"I'm glad they aren't worth holding onto all that negativity and pain. I'm writing one final book. A conclusion to my series a love letter to my fans. After it's finished. I'm going to step out of the spotlight for good. And focus on what matters the most." Lucas proclaimed.

Brooke leaned over and kissed him before she got into the passenger seat of the car.

Lucas kissed her back entered the car locked the doors and turned on the car. As he looked to her. "Time is flying by. Jenny and Jamie are 5 now. My little is 14. I can't slow down and pause the moments i don't want to forget a second of it. I'm 24. I have until 30. That's when my symptoms are going to start. Six years from now." He said.

Brooke reached over taking his hand in hers.

"We'll handle it. One day and minute at a time. Don't focus on that. It's now that matters. These are the days we'll be able to look back on with feelings of happiness and joy." She said. Wanting to reassure him.

"Let's go home." Lucas said. Leaning over kissing her gently before he pulled out of the parking lot.

Over the past few months. The couple have gotten more serious in regards to their relationship. They officially moved in together. Purchasing a home spacious house they loved.

Brooke and Lucas had the home to themselves for at least a few hours. Astrid was enjoying being around Jamie, Lydia, and Jenny. She already told her dad that she would be home late. After the hospital visit she would head over to Haley's the two had grown closer alot closer. She had spent more time with the older Scott woman. And was currently getting guitar and singing lessons from her.

As for homeschooling Astrid was progressing better then expected there. When it was time for school she asked her dad for the homeschooling to end because she wanted to go to the high school in town with the other kids.

Lucas was surprised and nothing but encouraging to the idea. He would enroll her when it was that time.

Brooke gazed over at Lucas. Surprised to see their home decorated in flowers and candle light.

"What is all this about.?" She asked with a smile.

Lucas kneeled down and revealed a ring box he had hidden.

"Brooke Davis. You came into my life. At a time i needed it i hadn't released it then but you and i would forever be connected. You are the love of my life, My strength, sun, and stars. You make every day worth looking forward too. When i picture my future I can't imagine spending it with anyone else. I will love and cherish you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me.?" He asked.

Brooke leaned over kissing him.

"Yes of course. It's all i've ever wanted to love you and build a life together. I love you so much." She said. The emotion in her voice thick. Tears of happiness coming from her eyes as he slipped the ring on her finger.
