Author's note at the end
The flight to Denmark was uneventful. Pharah and Mercy had made sure to confiscate all of Hellhound's prepared weapons before leaving, and it also helped that the seats Mercy had reserved were first class as well. Of course many of the other agents were curious as to where the three were going, but Mercy simply told a half-truth and said that it was for Hellhound to see a specialist that might be able to help his mental state.
With luggage in hand, Pharah stepped out of the main terminal doors and was blasted in the face by freezing wind. Pharah had expected it to be cold, but it seemed that she had underestimated just how frigid it would get with winter just around the corner. Pharah wore a leather jacket with thick wool lining, jeans, warm black boots, and a sky blue scarf. Gritting her teeth, Pharah looked over at Hellhound with a jealous look, for he seemed to be perfectly fine. Her boyfriend wore a drab green military jacket, black military style pants, and boots similar to Pharah's. At a glance from any passerby it would be easy to believe Hellhound was a soldier on leave. The way he carried himself along with his large facial scar made him an almost perfect example of a stereotypical soldier.
"How are you not cold Erik? It is freezing out here!" Pharah spoke over chattering teeth as she put down her luggage and rubbed her arms.
"My normal body temperature has been altered to be lower than normal. I am used to being cold." Hellhound spoke matter-of-factly.
"Oh how the tables have turned, I specifically remember visiting you in Egypt long ago and both you and your mother gave me grief for complaining about how hot it was." Mercy could not hide the smirk on her face as she stopped next to Pharah.
The Swiss doctor wore an elegant white overcoat complemented by black thermal leggings and stylish tan boots. On the way through the airport Pharah was reminded that Mercy was not just popular because of her skill. Walking with the angelic doctor, Pharah had easily seen how many heads Mercy turned with her beautiful looks.
Rolling her eyes, Pharah nodded along as she tried to stay warm. "Yeah I remember Angela, now we are even. You said you rented a car right? Shouldn't we go to the parking garage to get it? Why are we out front?"
Mercy giggled and patted Pharah on the head like a child who had said something endearing. "No we are in the right place. I rarely get to spend time with you anymore so I decided to splurge a little."
Right as Mercy finished speaking a sleek black hover limousine pulled to a stop in front of the three Overwatch agents. A young man in a classy chauffeur outfit hopped out of the driver's seat and jogged over to the smiling Mercy.
"Good afternoon doctor Zeigler. My name is Elias, please, let me take your luggage." The young man opened the door of the limo then immediately took Mercy's luggage as the doctor cast an amused glance at the speechless Pharah.
"Come now Fareeha, stop dawdling and give Elias your luggage. The seats are heated and I am sure there is something to drink in here that can warm you up." Mercy then got inside the limo as Elias gently took Pharah's luggage out of her hands.
Feeling the eyes of many people looking at her curiously, Pharah quickly climbed into the limo and immediately sighed in relief as warmth radiated through her body.
Taking a seat, Pharah waited for Erik to sit down next to her before giving him an incredulous look. "Did you know about this Erik? I swear we are supposed to be keeping a low profile and Angela hires a personal limo of all things!" Pharah then tried to give Angela her best stern look, but the doctor simply giggled and shrugged.
"I was unaware that Mer...Angela had planned this. Angela, is this vehicle equipped with bulletproof windows and blast resistant plating?" Hellhound spoke as he gave Mercy a worried look.
The blonde woman sighed softly and crossed her arms while giving Hellhound a pointed look. "Erik we are perfectly safe. Please try to relax and enjoy yourself."
Obviously not satisfied by Mercy's answer, Hellhound immediately began inspecting his surroundings as Elias' voice emanated from hidden speakers.
"We are ready to depart Doctor Zeigler, is there anywhere you want to stop or should I take you directly to the hotel?"
Mercy smiled as she took a bottle of water out from a well-hidden minifridge. "I think the hotel is good for now. Though could we take the scenic route? It has been so long since I was last here and I am sure my friends would enjoy the view."
"Of course." Elias responded enthusiastically as the limo's engines came to life with a soft purr.
Realizing she was not going to get anywhere trying to chastise Mercy for her extravagant spending, Pharah sighed in defeat and leaned back in her seat.
"The heated seats are nice though." Pharah thought to herself as she enjoyed the luxurious features of the limousine.
As the limo drove away from the airport Hellhound was still combing through the interior of the vehicle with his usual meticulous mannerisms.
After a few minutes Mercy sighed in annoyance and spoke to Hellhound with a gentle but stern voice. "Erik please give it a rest. Your girlfriend is right next to you and you are ignoring her. Sit back and try to relax a little. Use this as an opportunity to make some happy memories with Fareeha."
Like a puppy that was being scolded, Hellhound obediently sat back in his seat while Pharah tried to keep herself from laughing. Deciding to make the best of the current situation, Pharah pulled Hellhound closer so she could snuggle up against his side and watch the scenery go by. At first Hellhound was very stiff, obviously unsure of what to do with the situation. But eventually he relaxed and hesitantly wrapped an arm around Pharah. Smiling happily, Mercy leaned back in her seat and began experimenting with a small holographic console set into the wall. Seconds later, the soft notes of a piano began emanating from around the three. Pharah gave Mercy an exasperated look, but decided that getting angry at her friend for simply trying to help was not the best course of action.
The three friends rode in silence as the limo merged onto a main road that ran along the edge of the island. On one side was the choppy water of the ocean, occasionally creating sprays of water as the waves broke against the shore. On the other side were green fields dotted with healthy trees and small clusters of houses. Pharah had to admit, it was a nice change of pace to simply enjoy visiting a new place. Letting out a small but happy sigh, Pharah rested her head against her boyfriend and enjoyed the sensation of being close with someone she loved. Eventually the road moved away from the ocean and headed directly into Denmark's capital city of Copenhagen. The fields, trees, and ocean were replaced by historical architecture mixed with modern era buildings and elegant skyscrapers. As they drove through the city, Pharah had to admit that being able to relax and enjoy what you were travelling through was a nice perk of being in a limo.
Eventually the limousine arrived at its destination. Pulling up into a private road, Pharah could not help but stare curiously at the building getting closer. Unlike the modern buildings with steel, glass, and chrome, the hotel was made with stone and other early twentieth century building materials. The outside walls were a soft white with glass windows evenly spaced out along the entire front of the building. It's design harkened back to older styles, a mix of Victorian architecture and simple but classic Nordic influences.
As the limo came to a stop at the front doors of the hotel, a team of valets and bellhops emerged from their hidden resting places and made a beeline for the black limo. Opening the rear door with a practiced flourish, a valet woman offered a hand to Mercy and helped her step out of the car without so much as a speck of water or grime getting on her outfit. Pharah felt very out of place, not used to being in such a high class establishment. Instead of taking the valet's hand, Pharah awkwardly climbed out of the limo and watched as the bellhops efficiently ferried the bags of luggage out of the limo trunk and into the hotel. Following Mercy inside, Pharah could not help but look around in awe at her surroundings. Everything looked so polished and fancy that Pharah felt like she was going to get scolded for touching anything. Gold accents were everywhere, complemented by crystals and luxurious fabrics. A massive gold and crystal chandelier hung over the hotel lobby and rare plants and flowers were strategically placed for maximum classiness. Remembering that she had to follow Mercy, Pharah quickened her pace so as to stay close to her friend. After checking in at the gold and silver front desk, Mercy was given three room keycards by the cheerful young receptionist. Hellhound and Pharah simply followed Mercy along like tourists with a native guide as they got into a chrome and gold elevator and began to ascend to the upper floors.
"Angela...how much do rooms cost per night here?" Pharah was unsure if she wanted to know the answer, but the curious part of her felt obligated to know just exactly how much luxury she was staying in.
As the elevator slowly moved upwards, Mercy shrugged and handed her compatriots their keycards. "Somewhere around five hundred to six hundred american dollars a night. I can already tell you are about to reprimand me so listen here Fareeha. I usually live very frugally. I am not one to flaunt my wealth at any given opportunity like some people. Over the years I have saved up quite a large sum of money from all my projects and jobs. I wanted your first trip with Erik to be special. You are like a sister to me, and I want all the best for you. So stop being a stick in the mud and just let me spoil you this one time. Once we get back you can go back to eating military rations and sleeping with your boots on all you want. Understood?"
Taking the offered keycard, Pharah listened to Mercy's speech with a slight blush on her face. "Okay you win this time Angela. Thank you."
Smiling warmly, Mercy patted Pharah's arm as the elevator doors opened. "Your welcome. Now, let us get settled into our rooms. We should be over towards the left if I remember correctly."
The three agents walked down the carpeted hallway until they came to a stop in front of two doors labelled 105 and 107.
Frowning, Pharah glanced at Mercy and pointed at the two doors. "Uhh..Angela why are there only two rooms? What about Erik's room?"
Angela simply gave Pharah a cheeky grin. The egyptian woman's face slowly changed from confusion to a flustered bright red. "Angela! You are not serious!"
Giggling with a victorious look on her face, Mercy used her keycard to open the door to room 105. "Oh I am dead serious Fareeha. Don't worry the rooms are quite sound proof and private. Enjoy yourself!"
Before Pharah could respond, Mercy had dashed into her room and swiftly closed the door behind her. Leaving a blushing Pharah with a confused Hellhound.
"So...I guess we are sharing a room. With how expensive it is I can understand that she could only book two." Speaking like he understood the situation perfectly (which he didn't), Hellhound used his keycard to open the door to room 107 and stepped inside.
Pharah almost let out an exasperated groan, but stifled it as she followed Hellhound inside. Looking around, Pharah was once again in awe of the sheer luxuriousness of her surroundings. The room was twice as big as her room back at the Overwatch base. It also had a balcony, soft carpeted floor, high-end curtains, a full bathroom with a massive tub and shower stall, a king sized bed with high quality linens, a holographic entertainment system, and a dining table big enough to seat five people. Collecting herself, Pharah noticed that both her and Hellhound's luggage was neatly put aside by the hotel staff.
Pharah tried to calm her racing heart, but was distracted when Hellhound reached into a walk-in closet and grabbed a spare blanket and pillow. "Erik what are you doing?"
Pausing, Hellhound gestured to the walk in closet. "I will sleep in here. There is more than enough space for me to be comfortable. I do not understand why the room is so big though. You could easily house an entire squad here with room to spare."
Feeling the blush creeping back onto her cheeks Pharah awkwardly avoided Hellhound's curious eyes and tried to talk normally. "Um...I think...I mean Angela...Okay I am just going to be blunt. Erik, we are going to be sharing the bed. Angela purposefully put us together in one room because we are...a couple."
Pharah watched as Hellhound processed what she was saying. At first glance he seemed to be taking the information in stride, but Pharah noticed his ears turning bright red in embarrassment. If she was being honest, Pharah was happy to see that her boyfriend finally understood what exactly Angela had planned for the two of them.
"Oh...that is...I see...are you comfortable with that? I am more than happy to sleep in here if needed." Now it was Hellhound's turn to avoid Pharah's eyes as he nervously fiddled with the edge of the blanket in his hand.
Letting out a happy and nervous laugh, Pharah walked over and wrapped her arms around Hellhound and pulled him close. Looking into his blue eyes, Pharah rested her forehead against his. "I love you Erik. We can take this slow. I know this is a lot for you right now, but that is okay. Think of it as training for being a couple. We can go at our own pace and just enjoy each other's company for a few days."
Hellhound dropped the blanket and pillow when Pharah hugged him, instinctively wrapping his arms around her and copying her actions. "I...I just don't want to disappoint you. This is all still new to me."
Pharah felt her heart rate speed up at Hellhound's honest and pure words, the feeling of happiness and love radiating through her body. "You will never disappoint me Erik. I love you."
Closing her eyes, Pharah gently pressed her lips against his and hugged him close. She was happy to feel that Hellhound immediately reciprocated her kiss and the two simply held each other close as they expressed their love for each other.
Eventually Pharah broke away from the kiss, slightly out of breath but with a big smile on her face. "Let's get unpacked. It is almost dinner time and I have always wanted to get room service."
Giving her a shy smile, Hellhound nodded. "Sounds like a plan."
The two slowly pulled away from each other and went about unpacking their things as the setting sun cast golden rays through the balcony windows. While Hellhound was still in the process of putting away his clothes in the nearby closet, Pharah got her phone charger and walked over to the one of the bedside tables and searched for an outlet. Not finding one, Pharah experimentally pulled open the table drawer and casually looked around inside. Finding something slightly shiny beside the hotel brochure and dinner menu, Pharah grabbed the small and thin package and held it up to see what it was. Immediately her eyes went wide in shock as she cursed under her breath. Slamming the condom package into the far back of the drawer, Pharah tried her best to forget what she had seen while she mentally screamed at her friend next door.
"Angela!"
Probably one of the fluffiest chapters i have ever written. I think it turned out okay. The obvious question is whether this story will include a lemon or not. As of right now I unsure. I have never written a lemon before so I have no idea how well it would turn out or if it would even add anything to the story.
Like always, reviews and comments are always appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
