Alright, before we get on to the main heroes of this Arc (being Izuku, Ochako, Batman, Joker, Iida, and Stain) Let's see how some of the rest of the gang is doing!
Kouji grunted as he landed on his stomach, having been tripped up by a sweeping strike of his mentors Gun Stock War Club.
"You need to be quicker on your feet, young one. You must cover all areas where your enemy can strike, otherwise, one mistake could prove deadly." Nightwolf advised before helping the rock-headed animal lover up. It had been two days since their internship started and so far, things seemed to be going well. Kouji had managed to get in touch with the animals more thanks to his Quirk and even learned some tips from Nightwolf. However, the real challenge came today.
"Kouda, you wish to be a Hero who rescues others, correct?" Kouji nodded. "Then you will need to learn how to fight. Rescuing sometimes requires fighting and I need you to learn the basics with me."
Nightwolf suddenly tossed Kouji a wooden tomahawk with a dulled edge so it wouldn't kill. Nightwolf took out his own training tomahawk and got into a stance as Kouji gulped nervously and mimicked it as best he could.
Kouji did not see himself as a violent person, but as he and Nightwolf charged to clash their weapons, he knew that he would need to learn all he could to protect his friends.
"WOOOOO-HOOOOOO!" Sero cheered as he was using his tape to swing through the city. Hana, despite her Matter Manipulation powers, could only do so much to traverse the city of Tokyo. Spider-Man was doing his best to guide them through swinging through the city and even taught them a few tricks. Hana was more into jumping across buildings while Sero was a master at swinging.
"Alright, you kids are doing great! Keep it up!" Spider-Man encouraged as he swung by Sero. Hana was nearby, jumping across buildings and altering the walls to form floors she could run across before jumping to the next building. The Shimura Survivor then put her hands on the ground and created a spring platform that launched her beside her mentor and classmate before landing in a Jersey Roll onto the next building.
After a little bit of swinging and parkour, they soon came across a bank robbery in process. Spider-Man held up a finger to his students as he jumped down and before the criminals could react, he began taking them out with hard-hitting blows as Hana and Sero watched his fluid, spider-like movements.
"Man, he's just...so AWESOME!" Sero gushed as Hana rolled her eyes and giggled. After tying up the criminals, Spider-Man landed back with his interns and wrapped his arms over their shoulders.
"So, who wants to get a burger? My treat."
"I gotta say, you kids certainly know how to choose a Pro, you know?" The Snake Hero: Uwabami said to Yuuga and Setsuna as she was busy applying lipstick.
Yuma stroke a dramatic pose. "I wish to be seen, to be heard, to have my name spread cheer and joy to all!"
Setsuna chuckled as she patted the Franco-Japanese girl on the back. "I just figured you could help me improve my search and rescue capabilities."
Uwabami giggled as she put away the lipstick and walked over to the two. "Kids, you both are going for things that I most definitely excel at. I figure we can probably help Yuma-Chan with her desired training first and then go on with Setsuna's from there, kay?"
Setsuna and Yuma both nodded as Uwabami had some of her sidekicks set them in some comfy chairs as she got to work touching up their hair.
"First of all, a Hero has to look presentable..."
"Look, kid, it's all in the wrist, you gotta hold it like so."
"Okay, got it!"
Since Deli had arrived and met Cole's cohorts, she had been learning how to better harness her electricity and Zeke was even kind enough to give her her own Amp to better fight in close combat. Currently, Cole was teaching Deli how to create a Shock Grenade and throw it at a target.
"Keep your eyes focused and your feet firmly planted. The only time you can break this rule is if you have to keep moving, but we'll get to that later."
Deli felt sweat build up and drip down her neck as Zeke had set up a used car to be used as a target. After learning how to form a Shock Grenade, she was now in the process of learning how to throw it.
"If all else fails, kid, throw all caution to the wind. Trust me, that's how Cole learned it." Zeke advised with a chuckle and just like that, Deli closed her eyes and threw with all her might, the ball of golden electricity flew through the air before landing on the car and then detonating in a massive electromagnetic burst, sending the vehicle flipping upwards and landing perfectly on its side.
Zeke whistled while Kuo couldn't help but clap as Cole patted Deli on the shoulder. "Not bad, kid. A little loose, but you'll get the hang of it."
Deli beamed, she already knew she had made a good choice in choosing the Conduit Hero to train her.
"I didn't quite expect my internship to go like this..." Momo thought to herself as she chewed her way through a triple cheeseburger while her chosen hero mentor, the BMI Hero: Fat Gum, ate at a lightning-fast pace as if he had already practiced several times.
"You gotta get those fat cells up, kiddo! Otherwise, how are you gonna work on your creations? Can't fight bad guys on an empty stomach after all!"
Momo giggled as she felt her belly rumble in bliss. In the past few days she had been interning, she had put on quite a bit of weight. While normally, one would be worried, for her, this was the optimal body in order for her Quirk to work. Fat Gum himself had also been nothing but supportive and steered her in choosing the right places to eat and what to get.
Blushing and covering her mouth after letting out a rather unladylike belch, Fat Gum chuckled in response as he finished taking a swig of his soda. "I think that's enough for today's binging, Check, please!"
"You did good today, kid. I'm proud of you."
"T-Thanks, Ms. Lanstrom!"
Habuko had ended up getting an offer from none other than Black Canary and her husband, Green Arrow, two well-known members of the Justice League. To say she was stoked was an understatement and joining her were Sen and Rin, who wanted to work on their speed.
Being handed a bottle of water, Habuko gratefully drank it before she noticed Black Canary giving her a curious expression.
"What is it?"
"You ever thought about seeing if you have snake venom?"
Habuko shook her head. "No, I'm technically a Non-Venomous Snake with no fangs. I do have a tongue though."
"Don't snakes smell with their tongues? Maybe you can practice with that."
Habuko blushed as she and her mentor continued talking while an explosion occurred in the background, followed by Rin letting out the infamous Goofy Holler.
"WHERE DOES HE MAKE THOSE ARROWS?!"
"AND HOW DOES HE HAVE SO MANY?!"
"Hey, I'm one of the richest guys around, nowhere near as rich as Batman and Iron Man, mind you, but rich enough!" Green Arrow joked while spinning an arrow between his fingers as his two students rushed to try and take him down again.
"Come on, kid, have some pancakes. I don't wanna be the only one eating here." Said a deep but friendly voice as Sato looked at the large stack of chocolate chip pancakes in front of him.
"Um...Dr. Banner, Dr. Hulk, what do I call you?"
The Green Goliath known as Hulk, who had managed to merge both his Bruce Banner and Hulk personalities together to form the perfect combo of Brains & Brawn, smiled as he offered some bacon and eggs on the side. It was Sato's third day and they were having breakfast at an American-style diner.
"You can call me Bruce or Professor Hulk, whatever floats your boat, kiddo."
Sato awkwardly chuckled as he saw a few people giving him and his mentor amazed looks. It didn't help Sato was also currently eating in his Hero Costume with his mask pulled off.
"So, I hear you can bake a mean chiffon cake. Ever try making an ice cream cake?"
Sato chuckled as he awkwardly rubbed the back of his head while poking at his pancakes. "Well, I've wanted to but I don't see what I could use."
Professor Hulk laughed as he put a hand on the big-lipped boy's shoulder. "May I make a recommendation? Hunka Hulkin' Burnin' Fudge, best ice cream named after me."
"I'll consider it, sir."
Toga was weaving her hands around a floating ball of blood she had created while sitting in a runic blood circle with only her underwear on. Observing her was the Blood Heroine: Skarlet, who also had a Blood Manipulation Quirk of her own.
"Blood is part of the body, you must let it flow through the current. You cannot take your eyes off even for a second." The ninja-esque woman advised as Toga stood up and then waved her hands around the blood ball as she began forming it into a scythe of solid blood before aiming it forward, the blade pointed right at Skarlet, but she did not flinch.
"Your mind is clouded, you must clear it, make peace with what is troubling you."
Toga sighed as she dispelled the blood scythe and walked to a nearby fridge, taking out a blood packet and straw before jamming the latter into the former and sucking on it as Skarlet sat down beside her.
"People like us are often feared. But we still must do our part to protect the innocent. As God is our witness, nobody should have to go thirsty again."
Toga giggled as she wiped some stray blood off her lip. "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
Skarlet chuckled as she and Toga sat there together, taking a moment to clear their minds.
"Oh Lord, please watch over the people I love..." Ibara prayed. She was currently in a deep forest, surrounded by foliage and small woodland creatures. If Kouji were here, he would definitely be ecstatic. A tall, lumbering figure appeared behind her and placed their moss-covered hand on her shoulder, but she did not flinch.
"Is your mind truly clear, young one?"
Ibara turned, seeing her mentor, Swamp Thing, looking down over her. She stood up and turned to him as she put her hands down gently.
"Simply wishing for the safety of my classmates. We are still quite unprepared for the forces of Hell that await us."
Swamp Thing nodded as he turned and walked off, his intern following him. "You must find your touch with Nature and with it, the Green will guide you."
"Yoarashi, you awakened your Quirk in the Sports Festival without even realizing it. Do you know what that means?"
"Yes! I am becoming more stronger and hot-blooded than ever, Master Fujin!" The Aerokinetic exclaimed as he looked to his mentor, the Wind God: Fujin. The most powerful known Air Manipulation Hero.
"It was only a brief taste, but in order for you to truly awaken, you must balance your heart and mind together. Allow yourself to feel the wind rushing around you, INSIDE you! Let its power be bestowed upon you and use it to strike all that would do harm!"
Inasa nodded as he continued in the meditative state he was currently in. The winds around him and Fujin began picking up as the young Aerokinetic's body glowed a brilliant light blue, Fujin nodding in approval at the sight.
Yes, things were going well for the kids of the Hero Course, Camie was learning martial arts and espionage with Black Widow, Superman was nice enough to help teach Shouji in search and rescue, Tooru was learning how to harness light with help from Green Lantern, and Minori was exercising her petite body while being observed by Huntress.
However, while our young heroes are learning the ropes from the Pros, it is time the story picked up...and it all begins in Hosu, where the Joker and Hero Killer both prowl...
Just another quick chapter before we begin the big confrontations with Joker and Stain!
No pointers here but I did make a few references, can you find them?
