The week went by very slowly for William a little to slowly for his liking. However during his time being stuck at the game shop, he got to know Yugi's mother much better besides Yugi's grandpa. He also learned more about helping out around the game shop even though Yugi's mother was making sure he didn't over do it since he refused to stay in bed all day.

Between Yugi's mother and William they had roughly six shouting matches but somehow in the end he somehow managed to convince Mrs. Muto to let him help out around the house and in the store long as he took it easy. William could have sworn Solomon was going to have a heart attack at the way he had stood his ground against Yugi's mom and actually got her to agree to let him help out instead of being stuck in bed all day. Even Yugi couldn't help but state at him like he grew a second head of something.

William also learned a few disturbing secrets as well as the week progressed. The biggest one was that Yugi's parents had been best friends with his own parents after finding a few pictures of his parents with Yugi's parents. There was even a picture of him, when he was very little holding Yugi.

Yugi's mom seemed to know more about him than she let on, but she seemed to be waiting for him to come to her for answers or at least ask her questions. William never fully confirmed or admitted to Yugi's mom that she was right about who his parents were, he also managed to keep his face blank and void of any emotions. However the guilt inside him seemed to be growing.

He felt even more guilty about not being fully able to talk to someone about his situation and the more he tried to blend in with their world, the more secrets he was uncovering, more questions that have no clear answers to them and deeper the lies seemed to be growing.

The more he thought about it the more his head hurt as well as his shattered heart or whatever was left of it. His parents never once told him about any of this. How was this even possible? Feelings of hurt, betrayal, anger, sorrow and frustration spiraled inside him like a angry storm. A storm William feared would one day break loose.

After school he still helped Joey with his cooking lessons besides doing his homework and he even help Yugi out with his homework when Yugi needed it. The night of cooking competition, William waited for the news on how it ended. William almost had a heart attack when Joey arrived after the competition.

He didn't say a single word before he suddenly charged forward at him and had suddenly tackled him into the couch before he began thanking him over and over again for the cooking lessons as he laughed with joy. Poor William looked rather uncomfortable at being hugged so tightly by Joey besides looking at him like he grew a second head or something. Yugi, Tristan and Tea laughed before they got Joey to release him before they filled William in on everything that happened as William stated at them in total confusion.

Joey had somehow won the cook off by sheer dumb luck, when he accidentally knocked a whole bottle of cooking wine into his frying pan with his vegetables and chicken which helped it give it more flavor. A lucky accident that helped Joey win the bet. William was not one for human contact all that much which the gang took notice of.

At the moment however Yugi was at school and William was still stuck at home no thanks to Dr.Wakasa who asked Yugi's mom to keep him home for another couple of days. He was in the game shop helping out when Yugi's grandpa told him how he won Yugi's grandmother over with a message puzzle, moments before the phone rang making him answer it. William practically jumped out of his skin when Solomon yelled at whoever was in the other end before hanging up on that person.

"Everything okay? " William asked softly since he was not to use to Solomon looking so angry before.

"Think you can run the shop for a while? Those idiots are trying to send my shipment to the wrong place!" Yugi's grandpa asked as he tried to call down.

"I'll be fine." William said as Yugi's grandpa went to pick up a small shipment of games at the Domino pier before his shipment ended up elsewhere. William was fixing up the shop when Yugi, Joey and Tristan entered the shop.

"Hey William, how are you doing? " Yugi asked him.

"Better, would be even happier if I could be back at school but I won't be able to go back until next Monday. Dr.Wakasa asked your mom to keep me home for an extra couple of days." William said as he sat down on the stool behind the counter. "If your looking for your grandpa he went to pick up a shipment." He added when he saw Yugi glancing around for his grandfather.

"Say Will, is there something here that could help our good friend Tristan tell a girl that he loves her? " Joey asked with a sly grin.

"You said we weren't gonna get William involved in this!" Tristan yelled. William raised a slender eyebrow at this.

"Whose the lucky girl?" William asked softly.

"Don't tell him!" Tristan yelled.

"Tristan, is in love with Miho. " Joey said as Tristan than looked away in embarrassment.

"Well...Yugi's grandpa did tell me how he won over Yugi's grandmother with a message puzzle. Perhaps that would work in this situation?" William suggested as he moved to where he saw Solomon place them..

"A what? " Yugi asked as William reached up as he brought down one of the blank puzzles as he set it down for them to see.

"No offense but this is just a blank puzzle." Joey stated the obvious.

"It's suppose to be blank so you can write your own message onto it. You write your message, break it up, give it to the person who the massage is for, allow that person to put the puzzle together and they read the message. It's not that hard to figure out, Joey." William said sighing.

"I just can't see Tristan, with something like this. " Joey said.

"It's perfect...I'll take it." Tristan said as he slapped down the money for it. "Wait, I never written a love letter before!" He yelled as he remembered that crucial detail.

"Say William, didn't you have a girlfriend or still have one? " Joey asked as he remembered over hearing some of the girls complaining that William had a girlfriend and wasn't at all single.

"No comment." William said coldly since that was a very sensitive subject with him.

" William, I want you to write my love letter! " Tristan yelled. William blinked at that since it was suppose to be Yugi who was suppose to write it.

" Fine... but don't blame me if she ends up hating you or turns ya down. I don't want any complaints." William said with a growl of warning.

"You written a love letter before?" Yugi asked in surprise.

"Once or twice." William grumbled in annoyance as he took out a marker and quickly wrote a message on less than a minute before handing the puzzle to Tristan who looked down at it.

You are like the moon.

That shines ever so brightly within the mass darkness of the night.

A true diamond that shines ever so brightly

Amongst the sea of glimmering stars in the night sky.

While a firey passion burns deep with in my beating heart

My knees grow weak, and my heart begins to skip

Every time I see your bueatiful smile

So deep is my love for you, that no words can ever escape my lips.

To tell you how deeply I feel about you, my bueatiful angel.

So please be mine, my heavenly angel, sent from above.

Love Tristan.

William blinked as everyone turned to state at him. "What?" He asked feeling uneasy at how they were just starting at him.

"How were you able to write something like this so fast?" Tristan asked in total disbelief.

"I have my ways and my secrets." William said slowly as he sits down on the stool after he placed the money in the register.

"This will be perfect!" Tristan laughed. William said nothing as he wondered how this would go over. He noticed Yami standing in the shadows watching them silently however his eyes were strangely glued on him. William suspected this had something to do with what happened with Kokurano.

"By the way do you remember Kokurano?" Joey asked softly.

"Yeah did they find his corpse or something?" William asked them.

"Well...Everyone found out about him being a fake and he was very much alive since we ran into him. He nearly gave Joey, Tea and Yugi one hell of a scare though." Tristan said slowly.

"Well at least he's alive." William said softly.

" Not exactly... You see he got really depressed about losing his popularity that he took his own life just a day or so ago." Joey said frowning.

"Joey also thinks whatever we saw in the dance room that night...was a premonition that Kokurano was going to die." Yugi said. William was silent as he closed his eyes before opening them. To the group William suddenly looked older, more serious and worn down

"Premonitions are not exactly easy to prove if they are real or not. They are also not to be taken lightly. When they turn out to be true you wish you never saw the forewarning." William said in a grim tone.

"Are you talking from experience?" Tristan asked.

"Maybe...don't know. My mind is still shattered, I guess you could say." William said. "Anyways good luck with Miho, however I suggest you give it to her on a day Mrs. Chono isn't around. I over heard she just got dumped and she might just take it out on her students." William added.

"She might be an evil witch, but I don't think she'll be that bad." Yugi said.

"Just don't say, I didn't warn ya." William said.

"Say let's go to the video arcade once William is all healed up." Joey said.

"Sounds good." William said with a smile.

The next morning William watched as Yugi left for school. William sighed as he went to his room and flopped down onto the bed. Yugi's mom and grandpa left to do shopping so he was at home alone.

I rather be at school with Yugi and the others. William thought before he looked at his bracelet. Hmmm, since I'm here alone...Perhaps I should try using my item, at least just this once? Just to see what it can or can not do?...William concentrated on his item. The item trembled on his wrist as the item began to glow brightly. The eyes of Anubis snapped open as they glowed brightly. Ominous chanting echoed through his mind far to faint to make out any of the words but they almost sounded familiar to him.

That was when the whole room seemed to spin out of control causing William to black out. The next thing William knew was that he floating off the ground looking down at his body that laid on the bed completely still with his eyes wide open in a creepy glazed over sort of way as though he was dead.

"Oh shit!! I didn't mean for my item to actually kill me! Fuck, this was the last thing that I wanted!!" William screamed as he panicked as he went to check on his body. The only evidence he was even still alive was the fact his chest was lightly moving up and down. "Thank Ra, I'm still alive."

William glided about the room as he got use to the whole floating thing. Feeling a bit brave he pushed his hand against a wall and went through it like a ghost. "Well this should be fun, looks like I get to see what happens at Yugi's school and not have Yugi's mom scream at me for breaking the rules." William said grinning as he shot up into the air and through the wall as he headed straight to Yugi's school as he ignored his fear of heights to get to Yugi's school in a hurry.

What William didn't see or even notice when he left the room were the three large mummified looking Anubis warriors that had slowly appeared in the far corner of the room watching everything. One silently walked over to William's body and carefully moved him so his body would be more comfortable on the bed and even moved William's arms so they would be crossed in a Egyptain like fashion across his chest. The second guard moved to stand near the door in case of an intruder arrived as the third one sat down in a chair looking annoyed.

"Lord Anubis' reincarnation or new Lord Anubis has a lot to learn in such a short amount of time...tch...I hate babysitting." The third Anubis warrior grumbled under his breath in Egyptian.

"Quit complaining. The boy has had a hard life...both in the past and now here. However it would have been easier had the boy been properly prepared for his destiny." The First one grumbled.

"Silence both of you...I can't think straight with you two pups bickering. Besides...the boy needs the book of the dead and the book of Amun Ra...which he has neither. Until he has those books and has learned their powers, his powers are very limited and his connection with Lord Anubis is extremely weak." The second one said as he turned to glare at them.

"And yet the boy currently commands the entire army of the dead, which he has yet to discover and learn. Fan-fucken-tastic, give a mortal the power to rule Lord Anubis' entire Army...that should go over well...not. Don't want another Scorpion on our hands, man did I hate that guy." The third one hissed.

" You forget...that the boy won't be mortal for much longer. As for the scorpion he made a deal with Lord Anubis and now serves him...but it was said that he would return and when he does...It won't be pretty since he will go after the boy. The boy will have to fight him since the scorpion will want the control of Lord Anubis' army once more." the Second one stated as his red eyes glowed in humanly.

"I still say we show ourselves to the boy...so we can give him combat lessons." The first one said as he than say down on the edge of the bed.

"And give the boy a bloody heart attack?! That would be just swell! What would we tell Ra, and the other gods? Oh we're sorry, we decided to show ourselves to the boy before he was ready and he just dropped dead from fright in front of us. Ra would have our fucken heads for that, not to mention our current Lord who is still dying at the moment... he can't hold on much longer even with the borrowed powers of other gods to keep him alive. It was bad enough when the high priest of Lord Anubis was killed by Zorc, a day before he was suppose to become the new Lord of the dead...and Lord Anubis had to wait another 5,000 years before the reincarnation of that high priest who held a great portion of Lord Anubis' very soul was reborn and than that child was than accidentally sent to a completely different dimension which sort of sent everyone into a dead panic that we lost the destined child! It's only a miracle the bracelet found it's way to him and brought him back! I have a right to complain! Though the combat lessons are going to have to be a must with him...but the question remains on how to do it without causing the kid to die from fright." the third one snarled.

"We will wait...until the events of Battle City before we make ourselves known." The second one stated.

"I remember the day when Lord Anubis' high priest died. However I will never forget hearing Pharaoh Atem scream in such horror, when he saw his high priest of Lord Anubis who he saw as a brother be suddenly killed by Zorc who was possessing the king of thieves at the time. Nor will I forget the king of thieves expression when he saw what he just did as Zorc cruelly released him for a brief moment to see who he just killed. The theif king lost his half brother by his own hand." The first one said sadly.

"It is forbidden to speak the Pharaoh's name out loud... until he regains those memories back on his own." The second one scolded the first.

"Just like it is forbidden for the dead to speak to the living..." the Third one said.

"Screw the rules...the boy must be prepared for his destiny one way or another." The first one growled as he accidently punched the boy's chest only for something to crack loudly. The three warriors stiffened as they looked down at the body. "I think I just accidently broke one of his ribs..."

"Lord Anubis is not going to be happy..." The third one said.

"If anyone asks...we know nothing of what happened." The first said nervously.

" I'm surrounded by idiots." the Second one muttered under his breath as he pinched the bridge of his muzzle.

Meanwhile William eventually arrived at his school as he slid inside the classroom with ease as he floated around only to stiffen a scream as a red hot pain shot across his ribs. "Ow...what the hell just happened?" William muttered under his breath. That was when he noticed Yugi sitting at his desk as Tristan placed the puzzle in Miho's desk just moments before school started. He

William hovered there watching them silently before he felt like testing something out with Joey. He looked at Joey who looked bored out of his mind. Feeling a bit evil he tapped Joey on the head making him turn around but no one was there. He than quickly snatched Joey's pencil and made it stand on its own as Joey turned to see his pencil standing up right. Joey looked confused as he went to move the pencil but William still had the pencil in a death grip making Joey struggle to move it.

This is for making bets and trying to get me to win them for you. William thought as he waited for the perfect moment. Joey finally began tugging at the pencil as hard as he could. William grinned in dark evil sort of way as he than let go making Joey topple over backwards making everyone turn to look at him.

"Joey!?" Yugi asked as William almost busted out laughing, but was afraid they would hear him, he was secretly enjoying this and knew he could do this again.

"Mr. Wheeler, I know my class might not be the most exciting class that their is but please at least pay attention and stop goofing off." The teacher said coldly as he went back to what he was teaching. Joey took his seat as he wondered what just happened.

The bell rang as Mrs. China's class was next. A class William was dreading. "Joey, what happened earlier?" Yugi asked him.

"I don't know...it was like someone was holding my pencil still and refusing to let me use it, than whatever was holding it just let go."Joey said. He than noticed Miho had yet to notice the present in her desk. However he caught how red Tristan's face was becoming. "This is driving him completely insane."

" I hope this works out for him. " Yugi said with a smile.

"Yeah, I wish William was here to see this." Joey said.

I am right here, Joey. William thought to himself with a concerned look. However I seriously wish you guys had listened to me, or at least taken my warning seriously.

William noticed movement as he suddenly caught the flying spit ball in his hand that was aimed at the back of Yugi's head before flicking it back towards the idiot who did it. It smacked the teen between the eyes as William smirked as the teen's face paled dramatically at seeing his spit ball freeze in mid air before it suddenly flew back at him an hit him between the eyes.

That was when mrs. Chono came into the classroom all smiling and happy looking. "Good morning, class! I'd like your attention before we open our text books. Today is inspection day, so empty the contents of your desk and that of your school bags into your desk." She said grinning.

"What?! " the entire classroom yelled. Joey and Yugi looked at Tristan in horror. Tristan had the look of horror on his face since he knew he was in trouble. Miho was emptying her desk when she than found the present in her desk. William smacked his face. Why didn't they take his warning to heart?

This won't end well. William thought with dread.

The teacher walked around before she picked up the present. "What is this, miss Nosaka?" She asked as she picked it up.

"I don't know...I found it in my desk." Miho said.

"Well...let's just see what this is shall we?" mrs. Chono said as she walked back to her desk as she opened it. "It's a jig saw puzzle, oh what fun, looks like one of those message puzzles, let's see what it says." She said smiling cruely.

William than remembered what type of marker he had used as he noticed Mrs. China's Water bottle on the desk. He opened it swiftly and gently knocked it over it so it landed on all the jig saw prices making Mrs. Chono sneer in annoyance as she quickly tried to save her drink and the puzzle.

However the water caused the ink to be so badly smeared and be washed away that it no longer said anything. It just had big black smudges all over it making rather interesting patterns. It didn't help when she tried to dry the pieces since all the ink was just getting all over her.

"Well it's ruined beyond repair no thanks to my water bottle...whoever did this you got very lucky." Mrs. Chono warned. Tristan, Joey and Yugi all sighed in relief. William however wasn't done just yet. He picked up her water bottle that still had a good portion of water in it as he than dumped it onto her head making her scream loudly. In seconds all her make up seemed to ooze off her face revealing her true ugliness.

What the class saw was the teacher's water bottle suddenly lifting up off the table, the lid twisting it self off before it fell over destroying the puzzle, than the water bottle suddenly was lifted up into the air all by itself minutes latter before it suddenly emptied it self over the teacher's head making her scream as all her makeup came off revealing their teacher wasn't as bueatiful as she portrayed herself to be before falling onto the desk.

" Wow! What a face! "

"Was she hit with an ugly stick?!"

"No way, I can't believe I ever thought she was hot!"

"Damn you, brats!!! This class never happened! " She screamed as she ran out of the room leaving a trail of water as she ran. William smirked as he watched her flee the room.

Score one for the good guys. William thought with a smirk.

"You guys saw that right?" Joey asked Yugi and Tristan as they nodded. "However that was way too close for comfort."

"Yeah...However I think I need to speak with Miho directly. " Tristan said softly as he walked away. He spoke quietly to her and she politely turned him down.

William floated over to were Yugi and Joey were. He reached out and gently ruffled Yugi's hair making him jump as he spun around but no one was there. his puzzle glowed for a tiny second but instantly calmed down while Yugi was glancing around in confusion before he chose to ignore what just happened.

William took this as his sign to head back to the game shop since he was going to need to figure out how to get back inside his body. Crap, I forgot to figure out how to get back in to my body exactly! William panicked as he hurried back towards the gameshop.

Once at the game shop William was struggling to get back inside his body. The three Anubis warriors had vanished seconds before William reappeared in the room. William tried practically everything he could think of to get back inside his body. He tried flopping down inside his body only to fall through it, the bed, the floor and ended up in the store just above the glass display case when he forced himself to stop in mid air. He tried hitting his body or at least smack it but that didn't work.

Eventually he heard Yugi's mom and Grandpa making him freak out badly. The bracelet glowed seconds before Yugi's mom entered the room as William felt himself violently thrown backwards into his body. William bolted up right as he gasped for air as he sat there panting as though he just awoken from a nightmare. "Are you alright?" Yugi's mom asked.

"Yep, never better...just a bad dream." William said gritting his teeth in pain as his ribcage was practically screaming in agony as he also tried to regain control of his limbs that were completely numb and rather stiff. However his chest was hurting like crazy though as though he broke another rib. He was also a bit confused on how his body had been moved from It's original position and why he was suddenly in so much pain but he chose to ignored it.

"Okay...just take it easy. Here I got you a gift as well as one for Yugi when he arrives home." Yugi's mom said with a smile as tossed something to him. William caught it and looked down at the package that revealed a dark purple digital pet.

"Thank you..." He said.

"No problem...Yugi should be home soon. " Yugi's mom said as she left the room.

I haven't played with one of these in years...wonder what my digital pet will look like. Hopefully not as bad as Joey's looked like it or will look like. William thought as he looked down at it. He opened the package and set it up. His pet appeared on the screen and William almost fell off the bed in total disbelief. It looks like a floating wolf head with a rather large fluffy tail, two front paws and is that the eye of Horus on its forehead?! It was rather cute looking but it was rather scary looking at the same time especially when it yawned showing a terrifying looking image that could have been the fuel for nightmares.

Inside the digital pet the wolf creature yawned as it looked up it's master. So this is my master...I almost feel sorry for him. However he seems like a good master. The pet thought as his master simply called him Anu.

Yugi arrived home were his mom gave him his digital pet. Reading how to link up the digital pets William allowed his to be linked up with Yugi's. "So how did Tristan's present go over?" William asked.

"Well...it went badly. Mrs.Chono ruined the puzzle and...her water bottle became possessed and dumped itself onto her head. " Yugi said right as his puzzle glowed. "It was a rather strange day. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you William?" Yami asked as William turned to look at him when he dectected the difference in Yugi's voice as he knew Yami had took over.

"I don't know what you are talking about, Yami. " William said calmly as he turned to look at him.

"You're the only one that I know who ruffles Yugi's hair like that and my puzzle could sense you!" Yami spat in annoyance.

William was silent as he looked at the spirit of the puzzle with a hard stare. Yami feeling a bit uncomfortable leaned back as William leaned forward slightly. "William what are you-" Yami started before he almost choked when William's hand suddenly reached out and suddenly began messing his hair up making him protest loudly at this.

"I really do not know what your talking about, but if it was me than the old hag deserved it and I would totally do it again." William said grinning.

"I will play a penalty game with you. " Yami warned as he glared up at him.

"No you won't, you like me too much." William said before he very gently poked Yami on the forehead. Yami's left eye twitched in annoyance.

"How about a game of solitaire, instead? " Yami asked with a evil grin.

"How about...not on your life or mind. The way this conversation is going, I rather play a penalty game, than that card game any day." William hissed at him. Yami only smirked at this.

"It's an easy game to play!" Yami said grinning.

"Like hell it is! Have you ever seen me play solitaire?!" William shouted at him as he growled like an angry wolf.

" I could teach you. " Yami said with a smile.

"No thanks." William said coldly.

"Just one game of solitaire?" Yami asked with a evil smile.

" No. " William said sharply.

"Please?" Yami asked him.

"No." William hissed at him.

" I'll never ask you to play it again...so just this once?" Yami asked him sweetly.

"Fine." William grumbled as Yami smiled as he dragged William to the coffee table in the living room as he than set up the game. A few minutes latter Yami stared in disbelief.

"How can you loose this badly at this game!?" Yami yelled in disbelief as he looked at William as though he grew an extra pair of limbs.

"Told you, I was bad at this game. "William grumbled as he stood up.

" That's it, I'm teaching you how to play and I'm not taking no for a answer...so get over here. " Yami stated as he yanked William back down making William crash to the floor beside him. William almost screamed out in pain from how much his chest began screaming in pain at the sudden impact with the floor even though he landed on his back. "William, are you okay?" Yami asked in concern when he saw pain dance across William's face.

William's bracelet glowed before his eyes flashed to a bright piercing yellow color as his hair spiked out wildly. "You want to play rough? Than let it be war! Come here!" William snarled as his voice seemed to go lower besides sounding darker in tone. Yami yelled in surprise as William than tackled him to the floor. In seconds the two began rough housing.

Yugi's grandpa was about to enter the living room when he paused in the the door frame as he watched the two boys as they argued as they were rough housing with one another causing the playing cards to go flying into the air and all over the place as they wrestled a bit.

It brought back memories of when his son playing with his best friend who strongly resembled William in a lot of ways. Solomon only laughed at the two before he walked down the hallway away from the two. He inwardly smiled since it was like Yugi and William were destined in a weird way to be siblings especially with the way the two interacted with one another. William the caring older brother and Yugi as his little brother.

Solomon was silent as he wondered if he should ask his son and daughter in law of they would consider adopting William, since their was a high possibility the boy could never regain his forgotten memories.

Meanwhile Yugi's digital pet U2 and William's Digital pet Anu were still linked on the table. U2 stared at Anu who slowly emerged out of the shadows before him as he slowly walked over to him in a slow predator sort of way, it's big yellow eyes were locked onto him. It's ears twitched as the long bushy tail swished from side to side as it moved.

U2 took a step back only to freeze in pure fear when Anu suddenly revealed his two rows of long razor sharp nightmarish looking fangs at him while looking as though he was going to eat him. U2's eyes watered in fright, only to blink as Anu yawned before he approached him. Only to suddenly curl up beside him like a big fluffy protector.

U2 slowly smiled as he quickly snuggled into the warm deep red fur beside him after a few minutes of just sitting completely still. The two digital pets were unaware of their masters' rough housing.

The rough housing only ended when the two accidently broke a glass vase causing Yami and William to freak since it was Yugi's mom favorite vase making the two boys to quickly clean up the mess and try to hide what they did. Yami went to distract Yugi's mom who had heard the crash just as William gathered up all the pieces as he raced them to his room so he could try and fix it.

Solomon who heard the crash had a hard time from not laughing. He remembered when his son and his son's best friend had accidently broke something of his wife's as they tried to hide it, besides the fact they struggled to fix it, but in the end the two ended up buying a replacement especially when his wife had accidently walked into the room as the two tried to repair it. The looks on their faces had been priceless especially since they were caught red handed with the broken remains of the item.

History had a funny way of repeating it self as he heard Yugi's mom scream both of their names. William didn't make it to his room in time and was caught red handed with the broken shards of the vase as Yami stood frozen in horror at the sight of Yugi's mother who looked scarier than an angry dragon catching a human trying to steal one of it's eggs as William smiled nervously at her.

"It was an accident..." He said softly in hopes she would forgive them.

To be continued...
