Author's Note: So double update today. Since the last two chapters were short. Shorter chapters means more updates. Or at least that is the idea. Also I am going through and editing the rest of the story slowly. I'm going to try to get three or four done each week.

As the sun began to show itself over the distant mountain top Jim returned to his group. They were all beganing to wake up. Even Spock had pulled himself out of his meditation when he heard him coming. "Right everyone we can't stay here. It's an okay place against the wind but we can't defend it. Whoever knocked us out of the sky knows where we approximately crashed. Think of this like an away mission. We find shelter, food, and drinkable water. We don't know when someone will come looking for us and we don't know if they will be friendly. With that said what do we have in the way of supplies?"

"Two civilian level phasers. I mannaged to grab a bag that holds bottles of water. I didn't have time to grab anything else." Scotty said as he stood up. "Might last us a day or two if we drink sparingly."

Each of them looked around rattling off what they had grabbed. Between all of them they had three phasers, food packs that could last them four or five days if they didn't ration it, and two bottles each of water. That would have to be enough. God he hoped it was enough. They kicked dirt on the fire until it was gone and covered it to make it less apparent that someone had been there. He took a deep breath. They were Starfleet trained. Maybe it would be enough. He hoped so.

He paused when he got to Spock. "You okay? You don't normally go to Bones unless it's serious."

Spock gave a small nod. "I have a concussion from the crash. Several of my ribs are bruised. You know about the three broken ones. My left leg is in risk of becoming fractured if I am not careful. I'll be fine as long as I do not stress my leg any more than necessary."

Jim nodded. "Alright. Keep what you carry light. If you need to rest let me know. I mean it Spock. I want you to think about it on human levels. If a human couldn't do it I don't want you to. There is no telling when we can get anything medical remotely passed field treatment. I don't want it to get any worse."

Silence streached between them. It was that moment they rarely had. The choice between listening to your captain or being friends. In some ways he was happy most of them had left Starfleet. He hated leading them because sometimes he had to make the call. The one that put those he cared about in danger. This wasn't one of those times he hated being captain. Jim needed them to listen to him and obey without question.

"Of course Captain." Jim relaxed a bit before nodding. "If you will take your own advice then I will keep to human levels of tollerance. I want proper shifts of rest for all of us Jim. That includes you. When we make camp you will be the first to sleep. Otherwise your ability to think will be compromised."

Well damn. He wasn't going to win this fight. Not with words at least. "Fine I'll go to bed like a good boy when we make camp. I'm going to check on the others and then we need to decide where we are going to go." Jim pointed to the west. "Those mountain look like a good start. I can't tell from here but it looks green so there should be water." They could live without food but they needed a water source. Bonus mountain meant caves and caves meant shelter. Judging from last night the night would grow cold. He worried about Spock the most when it came to the cold. They needed shelter.

Everyone was walking to the mountains he had seen. He hated that they were out in the open but another half hour would see them under the cover of some trees. He wouldn't call it a forest but vegetation. It would be something at least to give them some cover from the air. Lest likely to be taken out from a distance. Jim fell back in the line until he got to Uhura lightly tapping her on the shoulder. When she looked at him her eyes were still a little distance. "You alright? You seem kind of out of it?"

She shrugged her shoulders. "It's nothing to worry about right now. How are you holding up? You went missing before the attack." Scotty gave them a look from where he was walking with Sulu. Jim waved letting him know everything was okay.

Jim knew that would be called into question he just didn't want it to be right now. After they get off this rock he could tell them something. Not everything. He refused unless it came to life or death. "Yeah I'm fine. I don't know what happened. I woke up here. I saw the ship go down. I'm just glad I was able to help get you guys out. You'll tell me if something is wrong okay? Don't hide anything. It could cause more problems later okay? So if you are hurt let Bones know. I don't mind waiting while he takes a look."

She gave a warm smile. "I told you I'm fine farm boy. I'm more worried about you. I mean..." She glanced around before lowering her voice. "Your pills. We didn't recover them from the crash. You dont have them either. How long before they start wearing off?" Not everyone knew he took them. Just her and Bones. And she only knew becauss he had a break down when they were thrying a new mix.

Sighing Jim rubbed the back of his neck. "Probably another day. I should be fine for a bit after that. Anither day and it'll be like having a really bad flu. They weren't meant to be stopped cold turkey. I'll be fine. I'll let Bones know when we get somewhere safe." He doubted that anywhere would be safe. Not here. Not when this planet looked so much like THAT place. Even the star patterns were similar. Damn ehoever trapped them here. And damn himself for letting them. He shook his head and made his way back up the line checking in with each of the others.
