Chapter 28: What We Were
Darkness enveloped her like a warm blanket. She neither felt cold nor hunger, just utter nothingness. A few times she had heard strange muffled voices, people speaking about her, and whispers in the unknown. Some were old, some were new. The world around her would blurr in color and then fade into darkness once again.
She could hear one voice among the others, frantic from afar and screaming at the top of their lungs. Who was it? Were they in danger or just calling out to her? She attempted to move but when she did it felt as if nothing happened. She was floating in warmth as if the morning sun had taken her into its light. That's when faint sounds of screams, whispers, and murmurs had begun. She knew those voices, she knew she did, but nothing came of it. The mysterious voice had asked her questions, but her lips refused to move. She wished to ask who it was, but her mind was purely curious on what she was listening to. She wanted to stay in the light, in the embrace of this warmth, but soon after she fell cold and the voices beside the next began to overshadow one another. There were times where she would see faces vividly, but they disappear the next, as if they were never there. It felt as if it all happened in an instant. Soon enough it started to feel as if she was under the ocean's surrounded by nothing but the deep blue.
Now, she could move her hands and legs moving her body like a fish to swim in the darkness. Suddenly clouds rolling over themselves began to come close. Mist covered the little glimmers of light pulsing within them with colors, and shapes of figures. Voices spoke from it but not like before. These voices sounded of the past, speaking with familiarity.
Elise wasted no time swimming to it with her heart pounding in her chest, kicking with all her might. Why was she so excited and afraid? She hadn't a clue. All she could do was swim for it, and glide into it as she reached out to touch it. Just then, the sound of a small pin dropping rang in her ears and without realizing it, she had awaken.
Her eyes opened, slow and calm. She had no idea where she was or where she had been. She couldn't even tell what year it was, but as she took that silent breath to recollect her surroundings, she knew something was wrong. She felt wrong. Suddenly she noticed the white strands covering her shoulders, and the milky cream of her skin that was unlike her more peach complexion. The hell? She moved herself slowly off the bed, feeling no aches or pain. Her eyes, as if still in a dream, observed the lamp at the bedside, the walls, the closet to the window that brought forth the sun just over the horizon. She looked down at herself and the clothes she caped.
They weren't hers.
Once Elise's senses barreled back she began to take in the scent of oil and metal, but the way she perceived them was different from before. She slowly lifted herself up with a heavy breath putting her feet fully onto the cold floor to attempt to stand. Unfortunately her head began to ripple her vision on que, causing her to fall dizzy and ill. She instantly collapsed to the ground with a gasp catching herself with her hands to protect her face. She was surprised. How did she become so weak? Her muscles began to ache tremendously to the extent she nearly teared up, but none the less tried to ignore it and lift herself off the ground.
When she was balanced enough to stand Elise limped and dragged her way to the doorway, but just as soon as she started the voices began to surface from behind it speaking lightly at first, but hastily beginning to get louder. Her own voice began to warn her. Careful. The voices said, Careful. Careful. They repeated. This almost caused her to not want to open the door at all. She needed to know though. As she was going to turn the knob, she heard footsteps. They were loud and following up the stairs just outside. At first, she did not fear whomever it was, she could sense them from where she stood, yet her body impulsively ran for the closet.
She had broken out into a cold sweat when she backed away into the hanging clothes, hoping to remain unseen...What was she doing? "Elle?" The familiar voice called. She knew that voice. That voice made her heart sore, and her blood run hot, "Who...Who's there?" Her voice called almost as if she hadn't used it in days. It was dry, and rough. The mysterious man walked to the closet and opened it to find herself putting up her hands as if ready to fight whoever it was, but when the shadow put out their hand to hers she hesitated panting slowly, "It's okay doll. Come on." His was so soft, she couldn't help but reach out. When he grabbed her hand it was gentle enough to ease her, "You know you can't hide from me that easily." He tried to tease softly, "Am I that scary?"
"I...I..." Her face must've given her away because his expression changed from a soft smirk to concern etching into his expression. Never the less he tried to help her up only to have her legs buckle under her for a second time, "My legs..." She breathed weakly.
"It's okay baby, I got you." Greed did not let her collapse and gripped her tightly as he lift her up as if she weighed nothing and brought her back to the bed. He propped her up with the pillows, laid her back against them and sat next to her without a word. Her eyes were still adjusting when she called to him, almost unsure. His eyes went from the floor to her with his entire aura oozing with guilt and shame.
She was trying to understand why, to remember anything, but everything was just so disorienting, "What's going on?" She asked overcoming with dread, "Where are we?"
"We're staying at the Pipsqueak's place. We needed to hide for a bit and this was the safest place." Elise didn't say anything at first, she was still seeing the room at a tilt and it was nearly impossible to speak without feeling as if she was going to empty her stomach, "Oh."
At least she's come to remember you again
Shut up, Piss ant
Elise stared at Greed when she heard two voices begin to speak with one another. Her eyes widened because one of them sounded just like Greed. She sat up watching his face and hearing the voices speak again.
Oh no, I know that look
Hold on Greed, let's not jump to any conclusions
Her face is turning white Ling what am I suppose to do?
Tell her the truth, you moron
The woman's hands reached for her head as her breath began to respire. Stared at him, and stared until her eyes began to water, "L-, Ling?" She whispered straight away.
"What?"
"I can hear you both." Greed almost didn't know how to react at first. He knew she was telepathic as it was but the fact that she could hear Ling and him converse baffled him, "Like-, full on conversation?"
"Yes." Was all she could say trying to regain her composure. It wasn't odd for her to hear voices, at this rate it was normal, but hearing Ling through Greed's thoughts was a new addition to her, "A-and I'm not panicking Mr. Yao, just blatantly confused. I don't remember anything, and I feel like I haven't slept...Or eaten." She couldn't brush this off, she had to ask, "What happen to me?" Greed was quiet as he stared hesitantly at her, his mind blank before his thoughts came tumbling into her own.
I got you out of that horrible place, only to have you broken. I killed people in the process...a good friend. This is my fault... All of it.
She could see his expression falling into hurt, and soon his face began to crumble under the weight of it all. He looked the other way and covered his eyes so she could not read his face, "Doll, I screwed up." Was all he could produce.
She was worried now, sensing devastation and a great grief overcome him, "I screwed up royally and I-, I'm so...so sorry."
"What happened?" She asked again, this time softer, yet it only made the Avarice shake his head as if he wasn't sure if he should. He hunched over his knees, shoulders shaking as all the woman could do was sit closer to him. When he sniffled back and let out a heavy breath Elise suddenly realized that Greed was crying.
He never cried. Never. It was a weird feeling to her but that was only because it was new. The avarice was usually so strong, confident, and had a big wall around him when it came to emotions. Yes, he had shown her more than enough times that he could let them down, but this was something different entirely. Her brows knitted, wanting to press a hand to his back in nothing but comfort, but before she could he blurted out, "Ellie, I killed Bido."
Her hand froze where it was, almost unsure of what she had heard, "I panicked. It's no excuse but I did. I freaked when he told me he was from Dublith. He tried to tell me he was my friend, but I couldn't risk it. I...I-," His voice started to rise in pitch until he choked back swallowed as he grabbed his temples with a grip. He didn't want her to see him like this, but it was too late. She could tell how hard this was on him. Before he even spoke she could see the guilt and shame in his eyes. Never the less, it didn't lessen the blow when Elise began to let everything sink in. Her friend from Dublith was alive, Now, he's dead. She resisted to cry, but the tears flowed down her cheeks like rivers, her face unable to remove the frozen shock from her face.
Greed had wiped his own of any sign of tears then and calmed himself enough to finally look back at Elise with sorrow as he felt the need to explain himself further, "I just wanted to keep you safe. It was the only thing I was thinking about. That and it could've been another Collins situation. What blows even more is that I didn't realize he was truly my friend until it was too late." He wanted to take her hand and hold it and beg her for forgiveness, but he felt as if he didn't deserve it, so he settled for balling his fists and clenched his teeth angry at nobody but himself, "I don't know what to do anymore. I feel like I don't know who I am, even after getting my memories back. All I know is that I've made horrible choices. I indirectly killed our friends with my negligents, I killed another with my carelessness. I even hurt you, more than once. I'm pretty sure you'll never forgive me, I wouldn't blame you. Ling was right, I don't deserve you, any of you." There were bags under his eyes and he looked exhausted of life. All Elise could think about was everything at once and she too began to hyperventilate and cry. She sobbed holding onto her stomach as if she was in pain.
Greed almost couldn't take it but at the same time he sat there waiting for her to scream at him, waiting for her to hurt him like he had hurt her so many times before.
But nothing came.
Instead she turned to him with a water ridden face and shook her head. He wasn't sure for what but either way her wrath was coming, he could feel it, or so he thought, "I don't know if I want to hug you or punch you," She started still trying to catch her breath, "However, you didn't make me into this. That was also a year ago. If our fathers would have left us alone...If he had just stayed away from us none of this would be happening!" She curled in on herself, crying louder as finally let out all of her emotions that she had been holding back, "Oh Bido! Not Bido!"
"You say that like I haven't gotten my hands dirty, like I didn't just take you from Lab 5 for my own ambitions. I could've ended this long before if I wasn't so selfish. If I cared enough. My ego got in the way of taking care of what mattered most." He cupped her face hastily catching her off guard, all so she couldn't remove herself from his grasp even if she wanted to. She did for a second, not hard but enough show she didn't want to be touched, "You, Bido, Dorcetto, Martel, Roa, and the rest. I've let all of you down. You have no idea." He screwed his eyes shut, "All I can do is ask myself why I didn't listen to you. Why I was so reluctant to just say the words. I should've said yes a hundred times, and I didn't. Please forgive me."
"Stop." She finally pleaded sobbing, but he refused.
"I'm a terrible person. I wish I could go back and change it all. I wish I...I had never taken you out of that place." That was it. She couldn't bare to hear more.
"Stop!" She cried getting him to finally quieted down. She had her eyes closed to him just like he did, but when he fell silent she opened them to him, "Please, don't say things like that." She paused trying to find the next choice of words, "Honestly? I just want things to go back to the way they were, before all of this. I wish our friends were back here and not in the ground. I wish alot of things didn't happen, but...Don't ever think that I regret meeting you. I don't. Not at all." She stopped for a moment to take the time to admire his dragon irises. They looked tired and worn but those were still the same eyes she swooned over, "I know I've said some things when I was upset, but I didn't mean it in the sense that I could never forgive you. I just...Never-," She stopped only for a brief moment buttoning her lip to repress a smile, but she started to blush, and with a gentle look Elise released what she had been dying to tell him for a long time, "I never got a chance to tell you, I love you." Her words were so quiet he almost didn't catch them. When it finally registered his eyes widen, only for his lips to etch into a deep frown and his eyes to water. His brow fell as if he was about to cave and cry again, "I..." He couldn't even speak.
She couldn't help but let out a laugh that resembled another sob, and cupped his face now, pressing her forehead to his, "I've been holding that in for so long. You have no idea how aweful I felt not being able to say that to you. Now, all I want to do is tell you that. All the time," She cried swallowing back another sob, "And you really haven't been yourself. Father took your memories from you how can that be your fault for not remembering?" She was hesitant but as she stared into his eyes she felt something pull her forward, "I forgive you. I do." She said it trying not to fall apart again, cupping her small hand around his own to bring him to her in a feverish kiss. At first, Greed was shaking his head as if not wanting to believe her. But not even seconds after did he find himself kissing Elise deeply as if he hadn't kissed her in years.
It was hard to imagine Greed killing Bido. It hurt to think about it. Yet she understood. She could feel no malice in his intentions and the events of what occurred left him broken. Knowing this also help her feel no malice. When she had pulled away from the kiss he stayed still with his eyes closed and his expression ached with the same sorrowfulness as before, "You're too sweet to me. I don't deserve this."
"I'm doing it anyways. Those bastards can change me a thousand times over and my feelings will always be the same; and you're back, so there's that." She quipped looking at the bright side, which made Greed hum in agreement, smiling.
"I just wish it was a happier reunion." So much regret filled his soul, and Ellie only tried to smile as she pet the back of his head and embracing him closer so she could nuzzle into his lap. He didn't mind it, in fact he shifted so he could wrap his arms around her back and run a hand through her hair. His face was already there smothered in her strands trying to hide away from the world. They did, for the time being. They didn't know how long it had been as they laid there holding eachother, stewing on everything they just said. Even Greed after a while began to reminisce on old memories, making a noise through his nose that sounded like a laugh, "What?" She asked curious.
"Just remembering when everyone else could tell we liked eachother more than we led on. Now look. where we are." She smiled too unable to hide it. She blushed as well thinking back on it, "I was a stubborn thing."
"A beautiful thing." He added getting Elise to roll her eyes, "Well it's true. I got lucky, you know." The woman gazed up into his eyes staring back this time at his features to see they were a little more subtle, but she could still see a gloss in his eyes, his mind still trying to figure things out, and talking about times pasts made them both feel better. Hell, he even smirked again, "We both refused a lot back then. We were so stubborn we had half the gang playing match maker, Dorchetto and Martel especially."
"Yes. They sure could read us like a book with that sort of thing." She replied mindlessly fiddling with his jacket.
"I guess they got what they want, huh?" He joked getting Ellie to giggle into his chest muffling the sound in his fabrics. She felt his chest move with her and embrace the woman with a sigh of uncertainty, "I still feel like I don't deserve you. You know that right?"
"I know you do, but I'm yours any ways. Don't get me wrong, I want to lash out, I do, but not at you. I want to put a stop to all this. I mean, look what they've done to our friends? To you? To me?"
"I know, I know kiddo, but you can't even stand, how are you going to be able to fight in this condition?" The words made her sit up in his arms and look at her legs. With a quick remembrance of what she was capable of Elise looked at her hands and waved them foward ever so slowly and she lifted off of him like a delicate fairy levitating in the air while Greed looked on in awe. Elise scanned the room and gazed over to a clock on the table only to have it vanish with another wave of her hand, "I might not be able to stand but I can still use what they gave me against them. Return the favor."
"No. Rest, then we'll figure out a way to get to Pops. You just woke up, we've had a long crappy week, so please, give yourself some time."
"Do you think he sleeps? When have you've ever known your father to rest? He won't, not until he finds me again, and this time it will be for the last time, I promise you." Her voice was eerily calm. Usually she would be angry or afraid, but this time she felt as if this would not happen, as if she knew what she had to do in order to cease it. Yes, she wanted to kill him, and that would be one way to stop the madness. But, what if there was another way? If she could make things disappear and freeze time...Finally, it clicked. Her face lit up like a light bulb went off in her head, "That's it!"
"What's it?"
"I could...I could turn back time!"
"What?" He too had risen off the bed now, watching the woman who had a glimmer of hope in her eyes, floating back and forth as if she was pacing, "I could go back, stop my parents from taking me to the laboratory and warn you of the threat coming for us." He stared at her, his mouth agape before answering with a simple, "No."
"No? Why not?"
"Because we don't know what we're doing. Anything could go wrong. You ever hear the saying let the chips fall where they may?"
"I have." She replied. Here she had an opportunity to bring her friends back and get their original bodies without the use of a stone and he was saying no? "But if I'm right I could prevent the others from being killed! I could stop Collins before he ever lays a hand on those girls, save Hakuro, and have our original forms back. I could...I could warn you and call the Elric's to help us before Father can finish whatever it is he's planning, because at this point it has everything to do with me."
"What if you can't though?" He suddenly asked, his fear ringing with truth, "What if I don't listen? What if you're killed by the other homunculi this time or worse? Once you're human again you won't be able to come back if you're killed." He rubbed her arms and pulled her in close protectively, "I just got you out of one mess, I can't risk losing you again!" He wasn't yelling but his voice was strained almost as much as Elise's eyes were, but none the less Elise stayed persistent, "Don't you see? If I don't do this, Father will find some way to get a hold of me and if he does it's over for all of us! I want to reverse this! To stop this! He'll kill me and take the power for himself to justify his own means." She cupped his face again and kiss him so hard it hurt, only to pull away just enough to brush her lips against his, deeply gazing into his eyes, "If I go back he'll never be able to see me like he does now. There will be no connection to him, and I will try my damnest to get you to leave Dublith. We can go anywhere. Where ever we want, when ever we want." His eyes were amorously on hers never trailing away as he mouthed a needy kiss against her, "After all the loose ends...We can leave, away from all of this. Across the ocean where no one can find us." Her eyes were filling with tears at the prospect. Hearing her own words sounded too good to be true, and she wanted to believe it wholeheartedly.
Greed still had his doubts. They weren't sure of the effects.
In the end he brushed his nose against the girl's and gave her a heavy sigh brushing as he brushed her hair back lovingly, "Let's get some food. We can speak about this after you eat. Please? You have to be starving." She was, and after much unhappy news and high hopes all she could do was lower her head and nod sadly, "I promise I'm not blowing you off. It's a lot to take in, and if we-, you do this, that's it, there's no turning back." His played a good poker face for a moment but Elise heard the voice of Ling and Greed conversing. They both had their qualms of what ifs and their worries for Elise's safety, but again the boys came to the same conclusion that they were unsure. For now.
To be honest she was still ill and the thought of food made her mouth water sourly. Besides if this plan went through this may be her last few meals with Greed. She knew she couldn't leave him so abruptly, so she nodded again this time smiling at him, "Okay. You're right." She felt her powers start to waver at some point, not even realizing she was still leviating before she dropped straight into Greed's hands, "Hey, you alright?"
"I'm... Still trying to regain myself is all." She chuckled tiredly.
"Just lay back, baby-doll." She nodded agreeing and closed her eyes to stop the world from spinning. She felt the avarice's hand stroking the top of her forehead, removing straying strands away from her cheeks. The sensation was soothing and after a moment she felt a kiss to her temple, "I'll go fetch us something nice to eat. Hm? Maybe you just need nourishment."
"Thank you." She said still sensing him hovered above her, his hand petting her head as he pulled the cover over her. His hand suddenly stilled for a second before he uttered those special words just above a whisper, "I love you." Elise shot her head around to meet his face, his eyes so endearin that she suddenly felt overwhelmed with emotion and without warning Elise wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. Greed gladly reciprocated with just as much earnest, "And I love you."
Greed didn't bother making eye contact with any of the men downstairs, but he could feel his eyes on his regardless. They all seemed to want an answer of what was going on with Elise, but he merely told them that she was hungry, "She hasn't eaten properly since the incident. Ed, can you help me out?" Ed gave a glance to the two chimeras but did not decline he followed him into the kitchen and sat at the table watching Greed aimlessly walk to ice box to open it. He peered inside only to stare off at nothing, "You got any idea what to eat on a funky stomach?" He suddenly asked the boy.
"Tea. Maybe some biscuits."
"Thanks." He grabbed what he assumed she'd like, but it seemed a little harder than usual. Since she was no longer a cat raw salmon and cream was not a choice and healing seemed to be a progress from before. That unsettled him. He started up some water in a kettle, and set the biscuits on the table on the other side of Edward.
He stared at the bisquits only to see that the Alchemist was eyeing him, "What?"
"Did you call me in here just to ask about food, or do you want to get something off your chest?" Greed looked to Ed without a word, yet felt his lips tug into a smirk, "Nothing gets passed you does it?"
"You had that look to you is all. Is she...you know."
"She's talking again, but her legs aren't working and she says she doesn't remember much. I'm not surprised, what ever they doped her up with before sending her to those Labs it definitely did a number on her."
"So she hasn't fully recovered." Ed stated sadly after hearing the news.
"No." When the blond's eyes moved from the table to the avarice he could see him supressing what Ed could only describe as hurt. A hurt for someone you loved, yet he dare not say that; instead he was stopped in mid thought by the sound of the kettle whistling. Greed was quick to move and turn it off. In silence he took a mesh ball placing the fresh tea leaves and a few other herbs inside it before dropping it into a fresh cup with the hot water. He then turned himself back around to Ed, and spoke about what had been eating at him since he came from upstairs, "Elise's been having some interesting ideas. It's pretty big, though I don't doubt for a second that she could pull it off."
"What's this supposed idea?"
The avarice knew his friend would, more than likely, be against it, but he needed another opinion, especially from someone who's seen more than his fair share of the unbelievable, "Time travel." Edward stared blankly soaking up those words like a sponge, "What?"
"Yeah. I should've mentioned it before but after all this shit I needed time to think it over. Ellie's been able to transition herself from one place to another. She's even able to make things disappear...Not just objects either."
"People?" Greed nodded not able to trust his words, "All that because of the Old Man?" The blond asked.
"The one and only. But she's saying that maybe she could go back to warn us in order to stop all warn you and your brother about Father before he can put his hands on her. He's doing this to her on purpose. For a reason, and from what I can tell it's because of what she can do and it's not over yet. She knows it too. I've told you what they've done to her. So, what if she could prevent it? Dear ole Dad won't be able to use her abilities like he wanted."
At first the Alchemist blinked back speechless until he shook his head out of his daze, "Hold on, is she serious?"
"Pretty serious. The promise day isn't that far away, and we only have one shot. I don't want to do this either kid, just on the account of I think she's been through enough, no thanks to me. But if there is in any chance in Hell we can fix this, I'm willing to do anything." He murmured the last part under his breath and cupped his hands together, his face filled with regret. To keep his mind clear he continued on with what they had discuss prior, word for word until the blond was shaking his head to it all, "She shouldn't. I know she's been through hell, I mean, I can't imagine especially after the last time...but I've see people in Elise's shoes before, not exactly, but enough. Enough to know it won't be worth the risks. She could altar history, hurt herself or even kill someone by accident."
"Oh, she's aware, that's part of the problem, I guess, but...Tell me Ed, if you had a chance to go back in time and stop that one Alchemist from changing his daughter into a chimera, would you?" Ed never moved but his eyes sharpened and his hands on the table began to ball, "No, because what's happened has already happened. Granted she deserved better, but changing the past would be just as bad as bringing a person back to life with Alchemy. Technically her powers were created by alchemy actually, so makes you think it won't have that same effect?" He responded as a matter of factly, but Greed stared at him as if he had gone absentminded.
Edward looked on holding his own glance without moving an inch before the Avarice responded back with mere sigh. He had got the opinion he needed, and turned himself to the tea taking out the mesh. He then placed some of the packaged bisquits on a small plate next to it, and placed them in a tray, "I'll try to talk to her more. Maybe see if I can talk her out of it, but I will say this..." After he was finished he circled around to where Ed was sitting and stood in front of him, looking down, "She's a stubborn woman, or a determined one I haven't quite decided." Edward gave a chuckle when he heard that but the seriousness of the situation was still etched into his brows so hard Greed thought the boy's face would stick like that, "That almost sounds like you want her to go through with it." The Avarice was in no hurry to reply, instead he made his way to the steps and began to climb, sensing the Alchemist looking over his shoulder as he ascended.
By the time Greed had made it to the second floor of the house he could hear the sound of running water from down the hall. He peeked into the room where Elise had been in, but found no sign of her there. An involuntary grunt left him as he turned around towards the runningn water. He came to the front of the door, and knocked gently holding the tray with one hand, "Ellie, I some tea and biscuits for ya."
"Come in." She invited sweetly.
With a turn of the knob Greed entered the bathroom, coming to find Elise floating a sphere of water above her head. She released it with a gentle splash above her head soaking herself and gasped back as she wiped her face. "Sorry was feeling very unclean."
"I'm not worried doll. As long as you're good, I'm happy." She smiled at that and continued to rinse herself during which she began molding shapes of animals and dancing figures with the water, flowers, places, anything that came to mind she made within the blink of an eye.
Greed had already placed the tray on a small stool that was sitting in the corner of the room and put the tray in arm reach for Elise, "The tea is hot so be careful."
"Oh, thank you. You're really sweet."
"Anything for you babe." He then kneeled behind the tub, rolling up his sleeves. She followed him with a smile, and attempted to make eye contact. She cupped the side of his face, bringing it closer and closer until he was leaning over her, pressing his chest against her back. She hung his lips over hers allowing her to admire his lovely eyes before she wrapped an open arm around his neck and closed up the gap between them. She slipped her tongue into his mouth hastily, hearing Greed chuckle and embrace her against him, breathing in deeply as his hand began to slowly travel to test the waters. She didn't stop him, instead quickened his hands pace and forced his hand down between both of her breast, "You sure? I don't want to hurt you." She nodded her head never trying to led his mouth away from hers.
Greed couldn't resist he wanted her badly, but as before he felt as if it was bad idea. Then she turned over in the bath splashing some of the water onto the floor carelessly as she began to unbutton his collar, "You should...you should really eat something first."
"I am." She whispered sloppily through the lip lock, moaning and panting against him as he did the same trying his best to keep his composure, "Take me." Her desperate whine caused an involantary growl to leave him, his breath short and heavy as he clawed and grasped tenderly as her skin. "Take me, Greed." She begged this time. Greed groaned and began to bite and suck on her neck, hearing her sound rise and pitch when his other free hand began to hurriedly find its way down her body, and even further still.
