Jolene stared up at the ceiling as Sarah and Nathan snored next to her. she didn't know how they managed it but during the night they crawled into bed with her. They missed Paul just as much as she did.

He and Jared had been gone for four days. Knowing sue couldn't have gone Far, they had ran after her but not before Paul pulled Emily and Jolene into the sitting room. The sitting room had double doors that could be closed and locked which he did.

He then turned to Emily, asked her if she had made up her mind or not. The Answer surprised them both

Flashback:

Paul stood with his arms crossed.

"So Emily…Did you make up your mind? Time is of the Essence."

Emily Trembled before him with a crazed look and said "…I..I can't do it. I...I don't want to lose my connection to Sam. I'm sorry."

Jolene's mouth dropped. Emily actually said no. She couldn't believe it.

Paul growled and paced the floor.

"you can't be serious Emily. This man abused you! Let another women sleep in your bed! Your letting the pain of the imprint drive you insane. Don't you understand that's it's just temporary! You'll get near him and then you'll be right back where you started ...miserable!"

"I can't Paul! I can't! I need Sam! please. Just- just let me go home!" Emily cried

Jolene stepped in now. Trying to comfort the now hysterical Women.

"Emily…please listen to Paul. This is the drawbacks from the imprint. if Paul marks you now, you won't have to worry about Sam finding you. He won't ever hurt you."

Emily pulled away. "you don't know anything about me! I need Sam! I need Sam! I NEED SAM!"

Emily eyes were glowing yellow now and she was trying to make her way to the door, but Paul stopped her. He wrapped his arms around her from the back and pinned her arms to her chest.

"Do you feel that pain. That burning in your chest that won't stop! Do you hear Sam's voice in your head! Calling you! I can make it stop Emily. I can make it all go away just give me the word!" Paul growled. His eyes blazing yellow.

Jolene watched as it looked like Emily was struggling with tow people inside her head. One that wanted Sam and one that wanted to be free. It was literally like Mr. Hyde and Mr. Jekyll.

Emily whimpered as she tried to resist saying the words.

"Do it Paul! Do it! please!" Emily finally screamed.

That was all Paul needed. He quickly picked up Emily's wrist and bit it.

Emily let out a raging, and yet broken-hearted Roar.

Paul licked the wound clean and Called Jared in.

Jolene quickly unlocked he door and let him in.

"Take her to bed. She won't wake up until tomorrow. And ask Ms. li or Caroline. To take the kids out for a little while."

Jared nodded and sped out with an unconscious Emily.

Jolene felt her husband approach her, but she moved away from him.

Paul looked at her in shock and yet…hurt.

"So…I'm a monster, now right?" he asked brokenly.

Jolene whipped her head towards him. Her eyes wide.

"What! Honey no... I could never see you as a monster."

"So, what is it? because you haven't talked to me for about a week. you've been distant and avoiding me! Are we just through then!?"

"oh, now you want to consider my opinion!" Jolene accused

"What! I always consider your opinion!"

"No, you don't Paul! Weve been married for what two weeks at most and our house is already full of people! I mean we didn't even get to have a proper honeymoon because of the drama!"

"you mean my drama! Just say it Bella! My drama ruined out honeymoon! I'm sorry that I have priorities! I have kids to take care of now! I can't just spend my days pampering you and maybe none of this had happened if we just left the vampires behind, but they always seem to follow you!"

Jolene step back as if she had been hit.

"pampering me. is that what you think this is? Pampering? And yeah... the vampires did find me again, but you wanted me to stay... So, I did! And now your regret it right! You regret taking in the broken stray! You can fix Emily, but you can't fix your own wife!"

Pauls face immediately became unreadable. A mask of the unknown.

"I. have. never. Regretted. Anything. That. has. To. Do. with. you. Everything I have done had been for you. It has been us from the beginning. Remember that the next time you open up your shop."

Oh no, he was not walking away. This was not over. So, in a fit of anger and a stupid decision, Jolene grabbed the first thing she could find and chucked it his way. She was glad for her horrible aim.

Paul whipped around, eyes yellow and body trembling. Jolene needed to put her emotions aside and tell him the truth. Tell him what was really bothering her

"You never asked me, if everyone could move In Paul. WE haven't been married that long and we never got to experience our time as a married couple! I mean the first day of our honeymoon we were confronted by Victoria and then everything just started spinning out of control and to make matter worse, you had to mark Emily. I understand why but that doesn't make it any better! I mean now you've marked two women! Does it take away from our marking!? Is our connection even special anymore! And when's the last time we've had sex! I thought we would have had sex in every room by now but no! you've been so engrossed in work and the kids…I.. I feel so alone here."

Paul growled.

"Everything I do for us and no one ounce of appreciation! I'm trying here Bella! I'm really trying! And … and I'm sorry that this one-legged freak is not enough for you! And di you ever consider that I feel alone too! I mean its not like you talk to me anymore any way!"

The room went quiet.

There was nothing more to say.

End of flashback

Jolene let the tears fall. She should have just told Paul how she felt from the get-go. Instead she let her emotions build up and everything came pouring out at the wrong time. She had never had an argument like that with Paul from before. Yes, they argued like every couple did but their argument a few days ago was more intense.

She sat up as she heard the front door open. Low voices were heard and then went back to silence.

The stairs creaked and her bedroom door opened. In walked a silent and naked Paul. He surveyed the room saw the kids and then took them to their room.

A whole hour later Paul returned. He still did not say a word.

Jolene couldn't take it anymore.

"...Did you find sue?" she asked

Paul sat on the bed with his back towards her. The moonlight from the window casting on him.

"yes. Found her at a bus station. All the way in Oklahoma. She is not coming back, and I wasn't going to force her."

"..oh…I see." She said sadly. Jolene had to buck up and just say it.

But she guessed Paul was thinking the same thing because both turned towards each other.

"I'm sorry." they said in unison.

Paul let out a small smile.

"Paul I was wrong. Everything I wanted to tell you just...it all came out the wrong way. I love you and I failed to communicate with you. Especially when we needed it most. I was wrong"

Paul immediately drew her into his arms.

"God, Jolene, I am so sorry. I was wrong too. I had all this pent-up anger and I failed to tell you. I knew we hadn't communicated like we normally do...but...I let other things get tin the way. You're the most important thing to me and I have never regretted any moment I have had with you. You're the only women for me. were a team."

Jolene smiled as she laid her head on his chest.

"I was feeling inadequate about the marking between you and Emily. It made me feel not special anymore. And our honeymoon…it didn't really go as planned. I mean we went to have fun and Came back with a full house and we didn't really communicate about it. or...at least check in with each other about everything. Before got married we had a good routine set up, We checked in with each other and ...whenever kept things from each other. If we didn't want to talk about something than we were honest about it. then we got married and it just ...went to heck from there."

"Well babe. Things...do change. yes, we have kids now... and a family, the farm, the town, our businesses. Were just really busy then before. But I think another issue is that We're trying to do this by ourselves. We have a huge support system but were not using it. And I'm sorry for not considering how you felt about…well everything, especially with Nathan and Sarah. It's overwhelming and scary. And with me marking Emily. It just disconnects her from Sam, she wont ever wear my mark. It disappears overnight. But you… You will always wear my mark. You're my wife."

He said as he gently rubbed his thumb over her collar bone.

Jolene shivered.

"What else happened in Oklahoma Paul?"

Paul chuckled.

"We met with Victoria. She was waiting for us. She already knew what Sue was going to do. Rosalie Cullen was with her too. Apparently, they have some kind of plan. But for now, were not going to worry about that. So, what are you not telling me?"

Jolene blushed and said, "I think Sarah and Nathan need to see a therapist."

"and..?" Paul urged.

Jolene looked at him and questioned him with an eyebrow.

Paul gave her a serious look and said "...I think we should tell the town about Jared and I phasing. They know we've been acting strange."

Jolene didn't why but she couldn't resist. He was baiting her. she was going to take it.

"..I'm pregnant."
