Midoriya

Her heart was beating fast. She was still too angry and uncomfortable with me to sit beside me to talk so I took a deep breath before I started.

"The girl who kidnapped me before, Massiah, she gave me her blood to save me and somehow that gave me her quirk" I looked to her and she nodded seriously. She would have remembered everyone's shock when I stopped Ashido's bleeding during class.
"So I went looking for her. I wanted to talk to her about her quirk, but when we were there we were attacked by a villain organisation who wanted her for her quirk. They saw that she protected me and that's why I couldn't come back"

"I don't understand. We could have helped!" her anger seemed to boil over and she slammed a fist down on the bench where she stood

"No" I replied softly, "these people wanted to use me to get to her and they would hurt people to get to me" she looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

"You left to protect us?" I nodded and she looked down again, clenching her fists tightly on the table.

"It was the right decision" I added, "they did come after us. So I trained with Massiah to master her quirk so I could protect myself from them better if need be. We did everything we could to hide from them that I had her quirk too and luckily so far I've only had to use it to fix wounds"

"But in the alley -" she began and I smiled at her again gently.

"They were mercenaries sent to attack us. I only lost enough blood to make it look real, to make them believe I was dead, then stopped the bleeding"

"Then where is Massiah now?" she asked stepping closer.

"They got her" I replied sternly. I felt anger building up inside, "they caught us by surprise, shot her with tranquilliser and took her. When I tried to fight back they held her hostage against me and cut my throat" I took a deep breath, feeling weak, "It all happened so fast" I sighed.

"You cared about her a lot" she commented almost to the couch now. I nodded without looking up to her, "are you going to go after her?" she asked softly

"I don't know" I clenched my hands into fists, "she told me a long time ago that if anything happened to her, to leave her, to go back to my old life"

I could feel Uraraka's heart beat faster again. With what though? Fear? Anticipation? Hope?

"What are you going to do then?" she asked finally coming to sit down beside me and I looked to her.

"I don't know yet" I replied.

Uraraka

I could see as I sat beside him how troubled his thoughts were. I could tell he cared deeply for Massiah, after all it seemed like they had been together ever since he left, training and fighting to survive. It sounded hard. I couldn't fully imagine what he had been through but the scars I had seen on his body told me he had been through a lot and I imagined there would be even more scars where I hadn't seen. I could see he was torn between wanting to save Massiah and do what she had told him too. After all the villains thought he was dead now, they wouldn't be after him again. I wanted to change the subject for him.

"Those scars" I began trying to sound more light-hearted, "you going to tell me about them" he turned his head to the side to face me and smiled warmly, I couldn't help but to smile back. I just hoped I wasn't blushing from it. He shot to his feet with a big grin and pulled his shirt off over his head. I glanced away, knowing I was blushing for sure this time.

"Sure. Which one do you want to know about first" he grinned down at me and I looked at him with some thought. His torso and back were riddled with scars.

"That one" I pointed at a thin line just under his rib cage on the left of him.

"That one was a knife" he replied with a grin and he went on to tell me how he got it.

He had so many scars. He had a cluster of streaks on his upper left arm and chest where bullets had grazed him. A long gash along his right waist where glass had cut him while falling through a window. A couple of almost perfect circles on his upper right back where he had been shot, but had learnt to harden his blood so the bullets didn't go any deeper than the skin and more. All of theses scars on top of the scars and burn he had on his right arm from his days at U.A with us.
He grinned and laughed as he told me the stories behind each one and I couldn't help but feel my heart warm at the sight of him cheerful again. It burnt me being reminded how much I had missed him. By the time he was done talking it was getting dark outside.

"What about you?" he asked cheerfully as he put his shirt back on and sat down beside me, "what have you been up to all this time"

I went on to tell him how school had been. How we had picked up more work study, gone through out final exams to get our full hero licenses. How Shinsou had joined our class and dorm and even added in some of the relationships and dramas between some of our classmates.

"How's Kacchan?" he asked a bit more timidly, "I bet he was mad I left"

"He was" I answered with a sigh, "but he's doing pretty good for himself lately" Deku looked to me with interest.
"He's one of Endeavour's top sidekicks these days, along with Todoroki"

"That's great" he smiled. He leaned in closer and whispered jokingly, "Did he ever get a girlfriend, or did he scare everyone off?" I chuckled at him as he leaned back into the couch

"I'm pretty sure he scared them all off" I laughed and Deku joined in.

"And what about you?" he asked looking to me again with a soft smile. I tried not to blush.

"N-no" I answered, "I don't have time for that with all the study and work I'm doing anyway"
"And what about you and Massiah huh? I'm sure there's some stories there" I mockingly jabbed him in the side with my elbow. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to hear his answer. Being together almost 24/7 for so long I'm sure a lot happened between them.

"What? Massiah and me?" he laughed, "No we never were close like that. She was more like a sister to me"

"Really?" I was genuinely shocked and Deku looked surprised at me.

"What, you thought I'd have time for that sort of stuff with all the running around I was doing" he smirked and nudged me back with his elbow.

"Well I just thought -" I began feeling a bit embarrassed, but Deku cut me off.

"It's fine" he smiled, "anyone would have thought the same"

"I guess" I added quietly. There was a moment of silence between us, not knowing how to pick up to conversation again.

"Have you told anyone that you found me yet?" asked Deku finally. He looked at me with an unreadable expression.

"No" I answered, "Did you not want me too?" I asked

"I just think it would be best no one knew I was back yet. Not until I decide what I want to do" I went to protest, but then nodded in understanding. If he chose to go after Massiah and the villains, he couldn't pretend he was dead anymore and that would put those around him at risk again.

"Your hair had grown" he commented after a long while. Feeling self conscious I stroked my hair. it wasn't as long as it could have been after all this time. I still cut it, keeping it just long enough to reach the middle of my back.

"And you" I added, "Your's is shorter" he smiled and ran his own hand through his hair. It had been shaved along the sides keeping it short and left longer on top so it still had that messy look about him.

"You like it?" he smirked and I pushed him away mockingly, getting to my feet. He seemed a lot more confident then his days back in school with us and it made me blush again.

"What do you feel like for dinner?" I asked to change the subject.
