Trouble In Paradise

Now, an observer from a third person's perspective would see my actions over the entire four months and call me insane. They would be right! I am an insane man after all who, that is right in their minds, would aim to achieve omnipotence and immortality? But I am a greedy man. I aim to have everything, I want. As a normal man, I embodied the seven sins in all their unholy glory. So it is natural, that I would not forsake my sins now!

Why was I looting rich purebloods, if I could drain them the other way, more legally, by creating successful businesses, and monopolising the entire wizardry world? Surely, with my mind, that was not beyond my reach, right? Sadly, yes. It was!

You see, the wizardry world all over, every society be it MACUSA, WIZENGAMOT, TANTRASABHA in India, SHAMAN TRIBES in South America and Africa, CHI SECTS in China and others all over the world, have closely protected the Statute of Secrecy within their own domain. The method generally employed to do so, is to simply put it Rule with an Iron Fist. That means shoot first, ask questions later. A single house grows in power: all other competitions band together and push that House to the brink of extinction. No matter how, every house has married internally, and each of the houses after centuries of inbreeding, are related to each other in some way. There are many such instances where this happened over centuries. So, establishing a business in such a narrow minded society, where the rich rule the government, and monopolize on the military arm of the ministry, is simply a folly.

To such a world, a better way to earn money is to rob everybody else, be seen as a Hero, so you are in the minds of the common people. Make a show of force so indomitable, that the Ministry itself must bow down to you. Why else have the Dark Lords flourished so well?

Those in power, wish to remain in power. Those who support the Dark Lords, are those who are either powerless to begin with, hold no power, but wish to usurp it, and those who previously ruled, have fallen from grace and simply wish to rise again to 'earn back their past glory.'

Why am I telling you this? Because I am laying out my plot, my plan for this world. You see, I saw that magic is not endless, and even though it is largely available as ambient energy, it is sparse and thinned out now, more than ever. This can be proved by many records, seeing the notes and parchments which record the time taken by powerful wards to recharge. How did this happen? There are many reasons, but chiefly I believe the magical flora and fauna contribute a lot to the ambient magic. That is why; Dragon Reserves and Magical Animal Keeps are so abundant in magic. I am not trying to save the world, but making it so, so that if this world's ambient magic truly thins out visibly, then I have all the precious resources taken away with me.

With all the skills I gathered, and the abilities I gained, I decided a long term project, to create a large scale version of Newt Scamander's bag. He comes up so frequently in my plans, not because he is a lovable goof and I care for him, but his emphatic connections to magical creatures is astounding. He was able to tame a Nundu, and convince him to come with Newt. A Nundu takes about 100 wizards to subdue, and he alone did it. He has also collected Wampus Cats and exotic animals not because they are useful, but because they are mistreated or killed on sight. I despise humans, for their need for control, and that is why, Animals attract me so. Even a Man-eater Tiger kills for sating his hunger, but a human kills because it would be inconvenient. I, therefore, decided to be like a Noah's Ark and take all plants and animals I could find, with me, when I travel worlds. Also Newt takes no side in a war, and he does not care who wins as long as his creatures are safe. When he sees my collections, we are bound to find some common grounds.

But enough of Newt, I had already found phoenix eggs, Thunderbird eggs, even the King of Serpent, and his Queen apparently. I even tracked down where I could get my Lethifolds, Manticores and some other Zuowu or Taowu. I had the elves bring the Threstral herd and Bicorn in the stables, and prepared apples and other delicacies they like, to tempt them into submission. I had brought together enough animals all by myself, and liberated an astounding number of them from smugglers recently. I then built them their own habitats and keep them fed and satisfied.

Why I am thinking of all this now, of all times? Because after the successful prank with mandrakes during the DOM raid, my elves discovered a hive of Boggarts and I had my elves set them free, out into Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley, while robbing every store there. This was what happened, when I gave my GO Sign to Leafy.

It would seem like silly. But imagine this: around 250 boggarts let loose on a street of unsuspecting people in the middle of the day. The elves set up a containment boundary around both the alleys to prevent the situation from getting out of hand. The reason this is so troublesome, is because the boggarts can be dispelled to change their form, their appearance using Riddikulus spell, but not even killing spells can kill it, since it is like a material ghost. So cast unforgivables, curses, hexes, and any spell, save the elemental spell which only a few know of, it would not affect the boggarts in the least. To prevent your fears from showing, you need a mental shield and protection like Occlumency, and sadly (for them) not many practise it. While I was creating a diversion and a 'show and tell' with my giant Basilisk, the aurors surrounding me without their wands, and all the warning charms, and ability to communicate destroyed by my magic pulse, the diagon alley was in utter chaos, while my elves were robbing the entire businesses of every loot they could gather which they stuffed in enchanted suitcase with enlarged space of about 500 sq.m each, the wizards were crying and fighting their worst nightmare come true.

And why do this? Because the aurors on patrol in the streets were subdued quickly by the elves and administered a dose of Draught of Living Death for a finishing touch, and the lead auror on duty today was Grimmson, the bastard loyal to Grindelwald who suspected me. He was incapacitated, given a larger dose of the Draught, and secured in another location.
