No trigger warnings this chapter I don't think, just a bunch of fluff. It's a bit of a short chapter but hopefully its still good. As always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.

"Are you sure you don't need any help, Kiddo?" Patton called from the living room over top of the What's New Scooby Doo theme song.
Virgil let out a chuckle knowing his more emotional boyfriend was bored without his immediate company or something more entertaining to do than just watch old reruns. Sadly he wanted to keep what he was preparing as big of a surprise as he could without being totally left alone.
"No, I've got this. I want to make a nice dinner for everyone tonight," Virgil replied walking out of the kitchen to lean over the back of the couch. "Besides, you need to take a break once in a while. You cook every meal every day with very few exceptions. I haven't cooked any of you a single meal since living here despite knowing how, let me treat you for once."
Patton let out a whine as he purposely fell over from his seated position to sprawl out on the couch cushions. He held up his arms grasping at the air in front of Virgil needily.
"Do you have time to cuddle at least?" Patton asked.
"I guess I can put off the last of the preparations until the timer goes off," Virgil replied, slowly guiding himself over the back of the couch and onto Patton's chest.
Patton loosely wrapped his arms around Virgil, careful not to make him not feel trapped. Virgil crossed his hands on top of Patton's chest, resting his chin lightly on top of them as he looked up at Patton.
"Hey," he said with a smirk.
"Hey yourself," Patton replied, one of his hands snaking up to run his fingers through Virgil's hair.
Surprisingly, despite being stressed about trying to make the perfect dinner he hadn't actually summoned in his ears and tail. He'd been keeping them out more often recently, summoning them just because he felt like it and not just because they were forced out when he was over emotional. He'd come to terms with the fact everyone liked them and made him feel good about himself when he had them out. It honestly felt odd for Patton's hand to glide so easily over his head without rubbing against the sensitive area.
"Hey Patt?"
"Mhm?"
"Do you like me better with or without my cat ears?" Virgil asked, tensing self-consciously as he averted his gaze from Patton's face.
"I like you," Patton instantly replied with his usual chipper smile.
Virgil blinked a few seconds, trying to determine if that was some sort of coded answer as he looked back at Patton.
"That doesn't answer-"
"I know," Patton said, cutting him.
The warm, playful glow in Patton's eyes made Virgil let out a soft breath and smile.
"You're such a dork," Virgil chuckled, moving further up on Patton.
"And you love it," Patton said, messing up Virgil's hair.
Virgil puffed out his cheeks in fake annoyance until he broke to give him a much softer look.
"That wasn't up for debate," Virgil hummed, leaning the final distance up Patton's body to give him a quick peck on the lips.
A timer beeped in the other room and Virgil pushed himself up onto his arms, Patton's arms still limply clinging to his hair and back.
"Time for me to go finish dinner," Virgil hummed pressing his forehead against Patton's.
He fully gets up, chuckling a bit at Patton's needy whines.
"Dinner is almost done, it'll only be a few minutes, Patt," Virgil said as he rounded the corner back into the kitchen.
He worked quickly to finish the dinner. He pulled the breadsticks out of the oven, started grilling the boneless chicken breasts on the electric grill, drained the water out of the noodles, put the sun dried tomatoes in the cheese sauce, and whisk the cheesy garlic butter to lightly coat the top of the breadsticks. He had to move quickly between all of his tasks since he had wasted time giving Patton attention, but he found the short cuddles to be well worth the consequences. He could hear the episode of Scooby Doo changing in the other room as he started plating the meals. He made a main plate with the penne and cut up strips of grilled chicken, pouring the white cheese sauce on top and sprinkling it with mozzarella. He set a breadstick on the edge of each plate. He then pulled the salad he had prepared earlier out of the refrigerator and grabbed four bowls from the cabinets.
"Hey Patton, can you go get the others?" Virgil asked.
He heard a hum of agreement as the TV turned off. He didn't hear any movement so he had to assume Patton sank out to one of the other two's rooms. Virgil separated the salad into the different bowls and placed them down on the table as three figures rose up in the room.
"What's this I hear about Virgil cooking us dinner?" Roman asked playfully.
"I wanted to make you guys something special for once so I made three cheese chicken penne. It's not the most fancy thing in the world but hopefully it tastes good," Virgil replied, rubbing his arm nervously.
"I'm sure it will be splendid," Logan said, kissing Virgil on the temple before taking his seat.
"Agreed, mi amor, anything made by my beloved's I will love," Roman said, taking his own seat.
"I know my stomach has been rumbling just smelling how good it was from the living room," Patton grinned.
Virgil blushed shyly, taking his own seat. He waited for everyone else to take a bite of their meals before he allowed himself to try some. His face fell a bit when he noticed it tasted a little more bland then he intended. He should have added more spices to the cheese sauce.
"I like it," Patton chirped happily.
Virgil looked up at him in surprise. This meal was nowhere near as good as most of the meals Patton made.
"This is all homemade, right? This must have taken a lot of work and I can tell," Patton said with a happy smile.
"Love the breadsticks," Roman said, his voice muffled a bit as he took another bite of the breadstick.
"You did quite well Virgil," Logan added.
Virgil ducked his smiley head down, not caring when his ears and tail started growing. His heart swelled with joy as he stabbed at the penne noodles to get them on the fork. Perhaps his meal was perfectly imperfect to them and it wasn't like he wouldn't have time to improve his skills in the days to come. He'd just have to keep cooking for them until he made something even more amazing. That was a goal he could look forward to.
"After dinner, I have something I want to give all of you," Roman said, a confident smile crossing his face.
Virgil raised a brow, curious as to what the creative side was up to, however he gave no further hints as to his plans. They finished their dinner, continuing to pass compliments to the embarrassed chef who tried to busy himself with cleaning up the dishes he had used to make the meal. Roman gathered all of the finished dishes on the table and came up behind Virgil to drop them off in the sink. He then pressed a soft kiss to the sensitive spot on the back of Virgil's neck as he rubbed his shoulders.
"Thank you for dinner, my handsome dark knight," Roman whispered.
Virgil let out a hum, squirming a bit at the feeling, turning his face back towards Roman who then captured his lips in one of his more passionate kisses. Virgil whimpered at the feeling, struggling to not fall back onto the counter. Virgil's blush had spread down to his cheeks and chest by the time Roman pulled away.
"Damn, I don't think I'll ever get tired of doing that with you guys," Virgil said in a soft airy voice.
Roman just chuckled and nuzzled his neck lovingly in response before stepping back to give Virgil some room to load the dishes into the dishwasher. Once Virgil was done they migrated over to the living room where Logan and Patton were already relaxing on the couch, Patton pressed up into Logan's side. Patton reached his arm up to Virgil and when Virgil accepted his hand he was immediately pulled down between Logan and Patton, partially on both of their laps.
"So what's this surprise of yours Ro-Ro?" Patton asked curiously, looking up at the larger male.
"Well, I wrote you guys something. It's not exactly finished but today felt special so I wanted to share it with all of you," Roman said, standing in front of them proudly.
"Go on then Princy, let's hear it," Virgil said, his ears pricked with interest.
Roman took a breath and started tapping a steady beat with his toe before he began to start singing.
"Hey, just thought I'd drop by, to make sure you're alright. Come here, I'll dry your eyes. Hey, I am right here, oh don't you fear. I'll tell you words I hold dear. I'll tell you: I'm never gonna forget these days. Never forget our ways. That's never gonna change, now or ever. I'm always gonna hold you close. Always wanna make the most. Out of everything, now and forever. It's us for now and ever, now and ever, now and evermore. Hey, we all have those days, where things don't go our way. But I promise you I'll stay. So if your feelin' down, I'll come around. I'll stay by your side 'til you feel alright, I'll promise you: I'm never gonna forget these days. Never forget our ways. That's never gonna change, now or ever. I'm always gonna hold you close. Always wanna make the most. Out of everything, now and forever. It's us for now and ever, now and ever, now and evermore. Haunted by the past, or things all go too fast. If you feel so alone, just let yourself be known. 'Cus at the speed of light, I'll be by your side, to hold you through the night. And I'll say: I'm never gonna forget these days. Never forget our ways. That's never gonna change, now or ever. I'm always gonna hold you close. Always wanna make the most. Out of everything, now and forever. It's us for now and ever, now and ever, now and evermore."
Roman finished his song and took a bow. Patton was the first to start clapping excitedly while Virgil and Logan were more calm in their slow claps and smiles.
"As I said, it's not done. I don't have any accompaniment yet. But still I wrote it for all of you so hope you like it," Roman grinned sheepishly.
"Like it? I love it!" Patton squealed.
"I'm going to have that song stuck in my head now, so I'd say that is a good thing," Virgil smirked.
"I found it quite enjoyable Roman, it was fairly well written," Logan replied.
Roman's eyes lit up at the compliments, obviously enjoying the ego boost.
"Well the song is true though, so don't any of you forget it," Roman replied with a smirk as he plopped down in the seat beside Logan, draping his arm over the top of the couch to reach out towards Virgil and Patton.
Virgil hummed happily leaning back into the touch of all three of his boyfriends.
"Can we all stay together tonight?" Virgil requested, not wanting to separate from any of them.
"Of course Kitten, does that mean you want to hang out until bedtime too?" Patton asked.
Virgil nodded again, burying himself deeper between Patton and Logan.
"I was watching an old Scooby Doo marathon before dinner, wanna keep watching that while we cuddle or do you guys want something else.
Virgil was thankful when they all agreed to just watch what was on so no one had to leave the cuddle pile to change the disk. He leaned against Logan as Patton absently pet him, watching what was on the TV.
The warm feeling in his chest was growing every day, threatening to bubble over but he wasn't afraid of it. He loved how full it made him, how complete he felt. Such peaceful nights of small little things they did for each other, it had so easily come into his life and made his world so much better. In reality it hadn't been that long since he escaped the dark sides but they made it all seem like such a distant memory. He was so grateful for them. Nights like this were good. He wanted them to happen more often in the future. He wanted to grow closer to them. He wanted to continue healing and get better for them. Virgil loved them and he was glad that was never going to change.

This story is officially caught up with all of the other areas I post this and will be moving on to an every three days update schedule.

Also I just wanted to give a heads up since I've been trying to ignore it for a while but it's getting worse, I am currently not in my best mental state, I'm blaming it on quarantine for the stupid virus since I don't really get to see people and I spend most of my days sitting around in my room so I won't disrupt my siblings with their graduate/med school classes and work. Anyways my point is that it is making it difficult for me to write and even when I do I feel super self- deprecating. So I just wanted to give a fair warning even though I don't know when or even if it will happen, if I don't update at the three day mark at some point I will update on the next three day mark. I don't want anyone to think I am giving up on the story or anything, I just might need a mental health break to try to get myself back together.

On a more cheerful note side note, this story is seriously started to get to me. My family took in a formerly abused and abandoned cat that we currently have living in my room. We got him a little before I started writing this story actually. Anyways he is a very sweet cat but he also has a tendency to just hunker down and prepare to be hit or run away and hide. The other day I was walking too quickly and he hates when people walk near him, he gets scared, so he ran away. The words that left my mouth were: "Oh my god, I'm so sorry Virgil. Please come out of the closet". I proceeded to sit out side of the closet wondering what the heck is wrong with me.

Anyways as always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.
