The purple haired woman took a sigh "When it comes to love, I suppose I am one of those who handle the situation the worst." Morgana spoke "The first and the best advice I can give you is to let go –this type of love we are speaking of is poisonous, Alexia. It causes attachment, which leads to fear of losing and blindness. People are prone to commit vicious acts not to lose their loved ones. All of these push you into the path of the Dark Side."
Alexia straightened her back, she was still floating in the air "I do not mind walking the path of the Dark, or the Light, or neither. The concepts of the Light and the Dark you are accustomed to have become too conventional over time, and I am no Jedi. The thing is, I am falling for the worse person I could have chosen. Letting go is not an option but I can use more of your wisdom, grandma." Alexia said "When you realised you were losing Anakin to the Dark Side, did you try to turn him back?"
Morgana bit her lower lip and turned her grey eyes away "No, I didn't exactly, which still haunts me even in my eternal sleep. The anger and the fear in him were always greater than what a Jedi should have felt, and I was always aware of it but until some point, none of these bothered me. My first suspicion appeared after I discovered the true relationship between him and Senator Amidala." she stopped for a while, after staying silent for a minute or so, she went on "A Jedi Master having a hidden marriage was already bad enough, and I could feel the fear growing in Anakin every time somebody mentioned Padmé Amidala but after learning about his wife's pregnancy, I could almost hear the emotional tantrum going on inside him, Alexia."
Alexia knew that Morgana had a lot to tell, so she did not interrupt her. She kept sitting crossed-legged in the air and observed the emotions which passed through her grandmother's slanting, grey eyes. The only thing that bothered Alexia was the uneasiness she had begun to feel –something was not right and it was not far from her.
Morgana kept talking "Sometimes, when we were flying long distances in the hyperspace, some of his thoughts could crawl into my mind. I was afraid; I feared losing my Master, my friend, and the man I desperately loved. But I did nothing and I told nobody about those things that gave me nightmares. There is nothing solid to prove the supremacy of the Dark Side within Anakin, I kept telling myself. Until that day."
Alexia frowned "What day? Wait... I think I understand."
Morgana nodded, making her purple curls move back and forth "The mission, in which we had to spend two days alone in a ship, waiting for help. It was around the time when he began to think that Senator Amidala had become rather an obsession of his. When he acted recklessly bold and told me about how he really felt around me, my suspicions were confirmed. Growing feelings for his Padawan while having a pregnant wife awaiting his return –none of these were things that a Jedi would do, would accept."
Her voice was beginning to crack, so she gulped and kept silent for a while. Alexia could only image how hard it was for her to tell the biggest mistake of her life to her grandchild just for Alexia not to do the same foolish things her grandmother did.
"But I was already blind with love. When I finally came to my senses, it was too late –the man I loved was gone and the one who stood before me was a creature of the Sith. At the end countless lives were destroyed, two women were broken in a way no one could heal, and three children were born with such burden on their shoulders that none of them asked for." Morgana spoke bitterly, and then looked back at Alexia "If I had tried to turn Anakin back to the Light, it might have made a difference. But the difference between Anakin and Kylo Ren is that Anakin had not spent years in the Dark Side during those times."
"But Kylo has been following that path for years." Alexia finished her grandmother's word "The more time one spends in the Dark Side, the less is the hope for one's salvation."
Morgana shook her head "Well, that is not entirely correct. Do not forget, Alexia: As you grow stronger in one of the Side's, your equal in the other one also grows stronger, waiting to be awakened. That's why it has always been easier for the Sith to turn the Jedi, who have finished their training, to the Dark."
Alexia's eyes widened with realisation "Because their equal were already strong enough. Does this mean that Kylo has another Kylo Ren within him, which is as Light as he himself is Dark, and is constantly trying to break free from his chains?" she asked with a voice full of hope.
Morgana smiled softly as she nodded "Yeah, you can say that –just a thing: not constantly. Since the murder of his father, he has been having troubles with controlling the other one. And with you joining the game, his confusion only grew. He wants to push you away but he can't because deep down he is aware that only you can bring back the man he used to be. And he cannot decide whether he is ready to lose that part of him for good."
"So you are suggesting that I should try to turn him?" Alexia asked "But what if he refuses my help? The price could be too high for me to bear –I don't want to lose him, too."
Morgana took a deep breath "If he does not want to be Light once again, you'll lose him whether you try to turn him or not, Alexia. That is inevitable. You've said it yourself that at some point you will have to betray him, don't you remember?"
Alexia looked away, avoiding any contact with Morgana's grey eyes "Yeah, I do." she spoke bitterly "This is so fucked up."
A faint laugh escaped Morgana's lips "It always is, sweetheart. But his only salvation, our only salvation, is you. It was no coincidence that you were brought on the Finalizer, Alexia. Everything happens for a reason –your life line is bonded with his, which makes your role in this mess clear enough."
Alexia nodded slowly "I shall be there when he faces the crossroads of his destiny and makes his decision between the Light and the Dark –my presence will be the most vital factor at that time." she said, then took a deep breath "And... and if he chooses to stay as Kylo Ren, then I'll have to... end him."
"Unless he turns you to the Dark Side, be aware of this possibility as well, sweetheart." Morgana said, somewhat regretfully "And soon another variable will join these equations as well. Her decisions will affect both you and him –you three are the protagonists of this war, Alexia, keep that in mind."
Alexia frowned "A third person?" she asked "Who?"
"You'll meet her when the time comes. Until then, just keep that in mind." Morgana responded as her image began to fade away "I have to go now, Alexia but you can reach out to me anytime you want –I'll be always there for you, my dear."
(Time Skip)
It was two hours after Alexia had managed to sleep when she was woken up by the frantic knocking at her door. Looking at the clock, she cursed under her breath. It's two fucking am, for fuck's sake.
Not caring to wear something on her bralette, she opened the door with an annoyed expression on her face "What?" she asked to the Stormtrooper, who obviously was responsible for the knocking "It's the dead of the night, for fuck's sake, leave me alone!"
"It's urgent, Miss Gradval." the Stormtrooper spoke "I was sent to you by Mr. Ducasse."
Alexia stopped rubbing her right eye when she heard Jai's name "Jai sent you?" she muttered. The uneasiness she felt was growing with each passing second "This can't be good. What did he say?"
"He said that Nyrathen wanted to meet him at the main hangar and he also said that her thoughts were vicious."
Alexia's eyes were widened with shock "She's going to hurt him." she muttered "Thank you, trooper. You may go now."
Without waiting for the trooper's response, Alexia shut the door of her cell and changed into her usual clothes –black tights and a black tunic. Hanging her lightsaber to her belt, she rushed out of her cell. As she ran all the way to the main hangar, she was trying to reach out to Jai through the Force but it was no use –as if he had gone deaf to the Force, which was making Alexia fear the worse.
No, she couldn't have... Jai has done nothing to Nyrathen in the first place! Argh, I'm so gonna kill that bitch.
When she arrived at the main hangar, she shouted at the top of her lungs "JAI?! JAI, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!"
But there was no response and she could not sense Jai in the hangar either. As she walked past the vehicles while heading towards the middle, Alexia could only sense four beings in the hangar together with her but before she could analyse the situation, her senses began to shout at her about an upcoming threat. Turning back to meet the attack, Alexia reach at her lightsaber; however, a stun net welcomed her instead of a person jumping on her. In milliseconds Alexia was lying on the ground as she shouted in pain. But the shock given did not knock her out, and within a second it stopped.
As her sight came back, Alexia saw four figures heading towards her –three of them were white and the other one had reddish hair. The Stormtroopers following her stopped when Nyrathen raised her left hand into the air and kneeled down to take a better look at Alexia. The arrogant expression on her face was making Alexia's blood boil in such a way –the last time she had felt like this was the time she had found Rosh dead in their apartment.
"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to see you like this," Nyrathen spoke slowly "Vulnerable and at my feet, your life dependent on my mercy."
Alexia gulped slowly, trying not to move. As she held her lightsaber tightly, she casted a glance at the Stormtroopers. They were pointing their guns at Alexia, which meant that any attempt of escape would result in an instant and certain death. In addition, Nyrathen had her lightsaber with her.
Nyrathen stood up as she flipped her hair "I have never understood the interest Kylo Ren takes in you particularly –I mean, what is so special about you? Your strength with the Force? No, I think not –that would interest the Supreme Leader, not Ren."
Alexia tried to reach out for Kylo Ren, to disturb him using the Force but once more, she got no response. She knew that the bonds between masters and their apprentices had always been strong so she was hoping that one way or another Kylo would sense the danger Alexia was in.
Nyrathen went on "And, you don't have that charming looks that would seduce a man as powerful as Ren." she said as she paced back and forth "No, something else must lay beneath this." she stopped right before Alexia "And you, you are going to tell me this before I end that pitiful life of yours."
"Do you actually think killing me would be beneficial to you anyway?" Alexia asked while her eyes travelled on the ceiling "It won't take a second for Kylo to find all the memories about this very moment."
An annoying laugh escaped Nyrathen's lips "You are in no place to lecture me, Alexia."
Alexia took a deep breath before closing her eyes "You have always been an imbecile, have I told you that before?" she asked.
Nyrathen frowned as she took a step towards the lying woman "I'll not be..."
Before she could finish her word, all the lights illuminating the main hangar exploded. Taking the chaos she had caused as an opportunity, Alexia used the Force to rip the stun net apart. As she jumped to her feet, she heard Nyrathen shouting.
"Find and end her, you idiots! She cannot escape!"
Alexia laughed "Oh, so you still can't see in the dark, can you?" Upon feeling the movement near her, she used the Force to jump onto a nearby spaceship. Of course, she thought as she lied on the ship. The Stormtrooper helmets provide night vision. I have to be swift and quiet, then.
As the first prey approached the spaceship, on which she was lying, Alexia jumped off the ship only to land behind the trooper without making any noises. With a movement of her hand, she made his helmet fly under the ship, which caused him to turn back. But she was prepared for that, so she jumped high in the air and landed once more on the ship. As the trooper frantically searched for the Dark Side user, Alexia stretched her hand forwards to force-choke him.
She was holding her fingers so tight that in mere seconds his windpipe was crushed. A thud was heard when his lifeless body hit the ground "What was that?" asked one of the troopers.
"Shut up, you'll reveal your location!" said the other one in an angry tone.
Alexia smirked as she jumped down on the ground without making any noises. While approaching her next prey, she got a hold of her lightsaber. When there were only a few steps before her and the Stormtrooper, she ignited her lightsaber, extending it horizontally to the front. She knew it would reveal her location, which was exactly her intention. As the trooper turned to face her, Alexia used the Force to pull the trooper towards her lightsaber.
Alexia pulled back her lightsaber to let the corpse of the trooper fall to the ground, the red glow was enough to draw the last one to her. Closing her eyes, she defused her saber to concentrate at the sound of the Stormtrooper's footsteps. When he was close enough, she flipped her hand, which made the helmet of the trooper fall down.
As she opened her eyes, Alexia turned back and jumped on the Stormtrooper that was sneaking up on her. Making him fall down to the ground and lose his blaster, Alexia sat on him and threw a powerful punch at his chin. Before giving him enough time to come to his senses, she stood up and held the trooper from his collar, raising him in the air and hitting him to the ground. He shouted in pain as he tried to crawl away from Alexia, who ignited her lightsaber and ripped him into two.
"You are up next, Nyrathen." Alexia shouted while licking her lower lip. The red glow of her lightsaber was reflected on her sapphire blue eyes, which gave them a ruthless and terrifying look. She pulled up the left strap of her black tunic "Come out, you little traitor!"
Feeling the disturbance in the Force, she quickly turned back to meet Nyrathen's attack, who had jumped on Alexia with her lightsaber. It was impossible for her to hide the fear in her eyes. Alexia smirked in a wicked way as she kicked Nyrathen from her lower abdomen. Nyrathen grunted in pain while taking some steps backwards.
"No smart words now? Not a single trace from your sharp tongue?" Alexia asked as she spun her lightsaber. She clicked her tongue upon becoming no response from Nyrathen "You sicken me, Nyrathen."
Alexia somersaulted in the air and landed right before Nyrathen and attacked her. Nyrathen parried Alexia's attack just in time but with each coming attack she was forced to move backwards –she was not strong enough to resist all those continuous attacks. When she caught the very moment Nyrathen lowered her guard, Alexia kicked her hands holding the lightsaber. Nyrathen screamed in pain as her lightsaber was thrown somewhere in the utter darkness.
Alexia kicked Nyrathen once more, this time from her legs to cause her fall. As she fell to the ground, Alexia defused her lightsaber and jumped onto Nyrathen. Countless punches were thrown at Nyrathen's face –her attempts of fighting back were useless.
The rage and the lust for vengeance she was feeling blinded Alexia in such a way that caused her to lose control –for the first time in a long while she had given herself completely to the Dark Side. And she did not remember feeling that strong, that invincible before.
What brought Alexia back to reality was the feeling of a warm, sticky substance on her fists. As she stopped punching Nyrathen and looked at her fists, she saw that they were covered with blood –Nyrathen's blood. With eyes widened with shock, Alexia stood up and took a look at Nyrathen, whose face was covered in blood as well. She was moaning in pain and was about to pass out any second.
Not giving a damn about Nyrathen's current condition, Alexia looked down at her black tunic and rolled her eyes. Her blood is literally everywhere –even on my tunic, duh! Her arms had blood strains on them as well. I did beat her up well.
Suddenly, all the lights were turned on –somebody must have ignited the generator –just as she was about to take her lightsaber. Alexia squinted and turned back upon feeling other presences in the hangar. The edge of her lip curled when she saw him fully armoured with two Stormtroopers behind him.
"Gradval, what is going on here?" Kylo Ren nearly thundered, causing the Stormtroopers to leap up. Alexia exactly knew how the situation seemed –three dead Stormtroopers were lying on the ground alongside with Nyrathen, who was literally smashed in the face.
Alexia shrugged "Your apprentice tried to get me killed, Ren." she said as she made the ripped-apart stun net fly in front of Kylo using the Force "All I did was self-defence, and since you are here now, I'll hand her over to you."
Without casting another glance at him, Alexia walked past him and exited the hangar but she had to stop upon hearing him call her "Where do you think you are going?"
Alexia rolled her eyes as she turned back to face him "I need to wash myself, don't you see I'm covered in blood –and it's not my own."
