"IT'S CHRISTMAS!" Mia shouted running out of her room at 7 in the morning.

Everyone was still in their beds woke to her shouting and laughed. Mia made her way to Sara's room where she jumped onto the bed and started shouting again.

"Gilly! Wake up! Santa's been! Sara! Santa's been!"

Sara and Grissom laughed and got out of bed, Grissom helped Mia get onto his back to give her a kiddy back. They made their way out of the room and downstairs where they saw everyone else in the living room. Mia jumped down from Grissom's back and ran to James and Betty.

"Merry Christmas daddy" Mia said hugging her dad.

"Merry Christmas baby girl!"

Mia told her mum merry Christmas as well, Grissom came over to say the same to his parents while Sara went over to her family to say it to them. Once everyone had wished each other a Merry Christmas they all sat around the Christmas tree. Laura sat with Greg on her left side and Robert on her right, Sara was next to him with Grissom by her side, Mia sat next to her brother and dad with her mum next to him. The two dogs had been given their Christmas bones. They each had a pile of presents in front of them, Sara and Grissom having an extra pile between them for the baby. Even though the baby wasn't here it was already spoilt rotten by their friends and family as well as themselves.

They all showed off their presents as they opened them, Mia got extra excited when she received a new barbie doll and doll house she had been asking for since she had seen it in the shops, Greg received a new guitar from his parents. Both sets of parents received 2 nights away at a spa with dinner included from their kids. Sara opened her gift from Grissom which was a meal for two at her favourite restaurant, she received other gifts from him as well but this was her main one.

Grissom then opened a small gift from Sara who watched him as he opened it. His eyes lit up and a smile spread across his face, it was the baby grow she had bought a few weeks back when she had gone shopping with her dad.

"Do you like it?" Sara asked him.

"I love it Sar, it's my favourite gift ever. Thank you baby!"

"You're welcome, now open this one!" she told him as he passed him another gift.

Grissom laughed and opened the next gift, it was a white top that said 'Words Best Daddy!' on it.

"I love it Sar, thank you so much!"

"I'm glad!" she told him kissing his cheek.

They opened the rest of their gifts, as well as the ones for the baby. The two families then had breakfast which was bacon or sausage on a roll, Sara having both. They then all went to their rooms and got dressed for the day. Sara decided to wear one of her new outfits her mum and dad bought her, it was a tight black strapped jumpsuit which she wore a long sleeved white mesh top underneath. She kept her mum necklace from her dad on and added her new silver love heart earrings from Grissom's family. She decided to wear her fluffy slippers Gil had bought her when they first started going out as she always got cold feet. She then quickly dried her hair leaving it curly since she knew Grissom preferred her hair that way. Once ready she turned to Grissom who was wearing a pair of tight black jeans and a blue shirt Robert and Laura had bought him along with his slippers. She smiled at him as he walked over to her and pulled her into a hug.

"Next year we'll have this little munchkin to spend Christmas with Sar"

"I know babe, now let's go celebrate with our families" she told him giving him a quick peck on the lips before taking his hand and leading him downstairs.

Grissom smiled and followed her "Sar, you look beautiful by the way"

"Thanks Griss, won't be able to wear stuff this tight soon so might as well make the most of it while I can" she said laughing.

"You look beautiful no matter what you wear" he told her, he then whispered under his breath "or don't wear"

Sara blushed and slapped his shoulder after hearing the last part.

The two of them laughed as they entered the living room they saw everyone else already there, Mia ran over to Sara and asked her to play with her and her new toys. Sara nodded and followed Mia over to her pile of toys while Grissom made his way to sit next to the men and watch TV, both Laura and Betty were in the kitchen cooking Christmas dinner while the dogs were asleep by the fire in their new dog beds. The day was spent watching movies, eating lots of food, playing with Mia's new toys and playing family games. After dinner Sara decided to take the dogs for a walk since they hadn't gotten a proper walk that day, Mia and Greg went with her as Grissom stayed back at the house to help clean up.

"Em, Robert would I be able to talk to you in private please?" Grissom asked after they had all finished tidying up.

"Of course, follow me son" Robert said as he led Grissom to his office.

The two sat down, Robert noticing Grissom looking nervous which made Robert smile.

"So Gil, what was it you wanted to talk to me about?"

"Well Sir, I just wanted to ask your permission about something to do with Sara"

"I think I know what it is but carry on" Robert said smiling.

"Well, I really do love your daughter, I have since I can remember. Even when we were just friends, I was just too nervous to ask her out at first. But I'm so glad I have and now with the baby coming I'm even happier. She's so amazing and I know we're young and haven't been together very long but I would really like to, well, I'd like to ask your daughter to marry me. I mean we don't have to get married right away but I just want to show her that I'm 100% committed to her."

Robert smiled the whole time, he already knew what Grissom was going to ask the moment he wanted to speak to him.

"Gil my boy, I knew from the moment I met you that you cared for my daughter a lot, even if it took you a while to ask hr out" he laughed.

"Sara means everything to me as you know Gil, she's my little girl and always will be no matter how old she gets. But I guess if I had to choose someone for her to spend the rest of her life with then I would pick you. You've shown over these past few months especially how much she means to you and how committed you are to her. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is I'd be more than happy for you to ask Sara to marry you."

"Really!"

Robert laughed at how excited Grissom got, then nodded his head.

"Thank you sir, this means everything to me!"

"Now do you have a ring for her? When are you wanting to ask her? Where are you going to ask her? Have you spoke to anyone else about this?" Robert asked all at once.

Grissom laughed seeing how excited Robert was.

"I've not got a ring yet sir, I wanted to ask your permission first. I also haven't decided when or where to ask her yet and I haven't spoken to anyone else about this. I just thought before I planned anything I should ask you."

Robert got up from his seat and got something out of his desk drawer, he then walked over and gave Grissom the small box.

"This was my mothers ring, when she passed away my father gave it to me. Sara loved this ring, she'd always try it on when she was with my mother when she was younger. I'd be honoured if you would use this ring to ask Sara to marry you."

Grissom looked at the ring, it was a silver band that had single diamond love heart in the centre.

"It's beautiful sir, are you sure you want me to give it to Sara?"

"I couldn't think of anyone better to give this to my daughter"

"Thank you sir"

"Your welcome, now stop calling me that! It's Robert or dad from now on!"

Grissom laughed and nodded, putting the box in his trouser pocket.

"Now as for when you're going to ask her I would say today would be a great day, what do you think"

Grissom looked at Robert smiling and nodding his head "I agree, would you help me sort it all out before she gets back?"

"Of course! Now what were you thinking?"

The two spent the next five minutes discussing what their plan was, they left the room and spoke to the other three parents who were all happy about this. They helped to set everything up for when the others arrived back. While they were all doing this the other three and the dogs were on their way back home. Mia was on Greg's back since she had gotten tired of walking, Sara had both the leads with the dogs.

""Movie when we go back guys?" Greg asked the two girls.

"YEAH!" shouted Mia.

This made the other two laugh, Sara nodded her head then asked Mia what movie she wanted to watch to which she answered Frozen.

"Not again" Greg moaned making the girls laugh.

"Why not Greggo? I thought you liked Frozen" Sara asked remembering watching it last week with them and Mia made Greg get up to sing and dance along with her.

Greg rolled his eyes and said "fine but as long as everyone has to sing and dance this time, not just me. Deal Mia?"

"Deal Greggy!"

Sara laughed at the two, they carried on walking till they got back to the house. They shouted hello after letting the dogs off their leads but got no response.

"Maybe they're out back" Greg said.

Sara nodded and the three made their way out back where they saw fairy lights and candles leading down the path of the garden. The three looked at each other unsure about what was going, they followed the candles down the path where they saw their parents smiling.

"What's going on?" Sara asked.

"Well Princess, why don't you follow the rest of the candles" Robert told her smiling.

"Okay" Sara said still unsure about what was going on.

Greg walked over to his dad with Mia still on his back, Robert whispered what was going on to the two of them which made them both smile.

Sara followed the candles to back of the garden where they had a flower wall, there she saw Grissom with a nervous look on his face. When he saw her his face relaxed slightly and he smiled at her.

"Okay Gilbert, what is going on?" she asked walking up to him with a curious look on her face.

"Sara, since the day I met you I knew I loved you, I was just too scared to admit it to anyone. But as time went on I finally got the courage to ask you out and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. You've made me the happiest person on earth and I love you so much. I want to show you that I will always be there for both you and the baby no matter what. I know we're still very young and I don't want you to think we are rushing this but Sara I don't want to spend my life with anyone else."

"Grissom, what are you getting at?" Sara asked smiling at him.

Grissom laughed and got down on one knee making Sara gasp.

"Well Miss Sidle, would you do me the honour of becoming my wife? Will you marry me?"

Sara smiled with tears rolling down her face, she started nodding her head.

"Sorry but could you say it so I believe you" Grissom asked laughing.

"YES!" Sara shouted excitedly.

Grissom smiled and slid the ring onto her finger, he then stood up. Sara pulled him into hug wrapping her arms around his neck, Grissom wrapped his arms around her waist lifting her off of the ground. Sara wrapped her legs around his waist, the two stood there in each others arms smiling. They looked at each other, Grissom then kissed Sara softly on the lips.

"I love you Griss, so much"

"I love you too Sar"

The two heard cheering in the background and saw their families walking towards them. Grissom set Sara back down on the ground and grabbed her hand.

"So I'm guessing you said yes then Princess?" Robert asked Sara.

"Yeah I did daddy, are you okay with this?" Sara asked smiling at her father.

"The fact he asked me for permission and he makes you so happy, of course I'm happy sweetie!"

Sara looked at Grissom "You asked my dad for permission?"

Grissom nodded and blushed.

"Thank you, that's very sweet of you to do" Sara told him kissing his cheek.

"Let's seen the ring then Sar!" Greg shouted.

Sara laughed and showed them the ring, looking at it for the first time herself. She gasped as she realised what the ring was, this made more tears run down her face.

"Do you like it Princess?" Robert asked his daughter while smiling.

"It's Gran's ring! Of course I love it! You gave it to Grissom daddy?"

"Of course I did, I knew how much you loved it and I know Gil will treat you right, I trust him"

Sara smiled and thanked her dad, she hugged Grissom again. The rest of the family looked at the ring and congratulated the pair, they then made their way inside to watch Frozen like Mia wanted to. They all sat in their usual spaces, Mia making everyone get up to sing and dance during the movie. As the night went on they all eventually made their way to their rooms, the Grissom's decided they would leave in the morning as it had gotten late. Sara and Grissom said goodnight to their families then got into bed, Sara was cuddled into Grissom while looking at her ring.

"Are you happy Sara?"

"Words can't describe how happy I am right now Griss, I love you so much"

"Me too babe! I love you too, more than anything!"

"Merry Christmas Griss, thank you for making this the best Christmas ever" Sara said as she slowly fell asleep.

"Merry Christmas Sara! I can't wait for so many more" Grissom said kissing her forehead before falling asleep himself.
