Tension was thick in the lair. The time had finally come for the people of New York to take back their homes. They were as ready as they were going to be but they all feared that it may not be enough to take on their enemy. The Hamato clan was especially tense, as they went over the plan with their comrades. Leo, Raph, and Donnie surrounded their baby brother, determined to keep him in their sights until they absolutely had to. Splinter and Miwa weren't much further away but neither held a candle to the anxiety the three elder brothers held about this mission.

"Are we all clear about what we need to do?" Arnold asked.

When the crowd answered him with a 'yes sir', he nodded his head before he said, "Alright good. Start breaking up into your teams and wait for your signal. Good luck to you all."

Humans and mutants immediately breaking up into their respected groups. As they did, love ones staying behind gave a quick tearful farewell. They all knew this was a battle that many would not be able to walk away from. Vixen watched heartbroken all of the families being separated by this awful, senseless war. None broke her heart quite as much as watching Mikey and Miwa being separated from their families. The pair were wrapped tightly in the middle of their siblings clinging onto their last moments together before they sent the pair into Dimension X.

"My children…our time is short. We must move quickly," Splinter spoke up reluctantly.

He was last person that wanted to see the children go to that horrible place alone. However, he knew this was something he could not protect them from. This was a fight only these two stood a chance to win. The pair were slowly released before Donatello set up the transport to Dimension X. It was clear by his expression that this was the last thing he wanted to be doing.

"You have the retro mutagen?" The purple masked turtle asked.

"Check," Mikey quickly replied.

"Communicator?"

"Right here bro."

"Air supply?"

"Yerp."

"Weapons?"

"Seriously?"

"Your-"

"Donnie stop it man, I got everything. Turtle's honor," Mikey said.

The tech savvy brother looked at his younger brother with a guilty expression. He knew he was being a nag but he was scared.

"Sorry…"

"Don't be. I know bro," Mikey replied with one of his signature smiles.

Donnie returned the smile and took a deep breath before he asked, "You guys remember how to open the portal to come back?"

"Of course, pod brother. We will manage," Maya said giving him a reassuring smile.

"We'll probably be back long before you guys are done with Shred head," Mikey added confidently.

"You better," Leo replied trying to keep his tone light.

"If you're not back by the time we are then we're coming after you," the eldest brother explained more seriously.

"Followed by a swift kick in the ass to you both," Raph piped in not even trying to hide his fear.

"Not my adorable rumpus. You'll crack it!" Mikey gasped in mock horror.

The three brothers rolled their eyes at the terrible pun. However, it cut tension in the room beautifully.

"We will return. You will also return to this home alive. Anything less is unacceptable," Maya said sternly.

"Agreed. No get a move on…the sooner you go, the sooner you'll be back," Leo ordered.

Mikey and Maya nodded their heads before making their way to the portal. The Hamato family and the mermaids watched with baited breath as the pair waved to them before disappearing through the portal.

Leo had to swallow the lump in his throat before facing the others. He gave them a hard look before he said, "Let's end this."

Shredder stood his tower looking down upon the destroyed city. The chaos brought him more pleasure then he had ever known in this lifetime. As Oroku Saki watched over his dark kingdom, he heard the sound of footsteps coming towards him. Judging from the heavy mechanical footsteps he would guess it was one of the aliens.

"Shredder, we have a problem," Krang Prime said as she walked in.

"What would that be?" he replied.

"There is an angry mob headed our way. There is also a breach in Dimension X that I need to see to," the alien explained.

Shredder smirked knowing that the oncoming attack was being led by Yoshi before he said, "Go, do what you must. This is not a problem…this is destiny."

It was no surprise to Splinter to see his former friend meet them. He was surrounded by his soldiers and the Krang.

"I do hope you weren't thinking you were going to catch me by surprise, old friend," Shredder said in a mocking tone.

"We do not require the element of surprise to destroy you traitor," Splinter replied.

Shredder only smiled before giving his army the signal to attack. Splinter led their rebellion towards the oncoming threat. Every one of them united in the goal that to hell or high water, they were taking back their city.

Vixen was happily began destroying the krang. As she did, she kept a close eye on Patrick. She vowed that he would return to his children and she aimed to keep that promise. However, the man's training with Yoshi seemed to have paid off in Patrick's favor. He seemed to be holding his own fairly well.

Patrick noticed his ex-wife staring at him with a surprised expression before he said, "Don't give me that look. I used to fight you know."

"Highschool wrestling team isn't fighting. It's sweaty boys in tights rolling around on smelly mats," Vixen teased as she took out another opponent.

"First of all, rude. Second, did you forget I boxed in college?" the man replied before dodging an attack.

"It has been a long time since college," Vixen commented as another opponent came at her.

"You calling me old?" Patrick asked.

"Absolutely," Vixen replied with a smirk but keeping her eyes on her enemy.

"Rude!" the man yelled back at her in mock offense.

Vixen had just taken down a krang bot when she saw Yoshi fighting with Saki. She felt her heart jump into her throat as she watched them duel. Never in her life had she ever felt herself in such a rock and a hard place. She wanted so much to go and help but she'd couldn't bring herself to leave Patrick fighting alone.

"What are you waiting for?"

Vixen looked back at her ex-husband when she heard him speak with a look of confusion on her face. He just smiled back at her and said, "I'll be fine. Go!"

She smiled back at him before she took off through the crowd to go help Yoshi and face the man that destroyed her family all those years ago.

Mikey and Maya moved swiftly through Dimension X avoiding its many aggressive and territorial inhabitants. When the pair were close enough to the Krang base, they could clearly see that they were holding mutated humans on three different islands. It appeared that they were being used to mine the islands.

'We need to help them' Maya said to Mikey.

'It's a good thing Donnie sent us with a big tube of retro mutagen' Mikey replied.

'Now we just need an enormous amount of mutagen to go with it' the mermaid pointed out.

The orange masked turtle looked around them before he looked up and a big smile formed on his freckled face. The mermaid gave her mate a curious look before he looked back at her and pointed up above them.

Maya looked up before she looked at Mikey surprised 'you want to use a technodrom?'

'It's got more than enough mutagen for what we need it to do...we just need a way to get to it' Mikey explained.

The mermaid nodded over towards one of the islands before she suggested 'What about one of those ships over there being irresponsibly unsupervised?'

Mikey looked over and smiled before he said 'That's my girl.'

Team M&M quietly made their way over where the ships were being kept. Cautiously, they approached one specific ship that was away from the others. They had nearly made it to the ship when the sound of robotic feet could be heard coming up behind them. Team M&M turned around at the same time to see Krang Prime staring back at them menacingly.

"Did you miss me?" it said.

"Not even a little," Mikey said right before Maya screamed at it in a high pithed voice sending Krang Prime flying far away from them.

"Run," Maya yelled before the both bolted inside the ship.

Mikey immediately started pushing a series of buttons expertly to get the ship started and flying away from Krang Prime. They watched as it opened a communication line to the base with an enthusiastic grin on its face that made team M&M nervous.

"That can't be good," Mikey commented as they flew towards the technodrome.

"It's not beloved. Look," Maya said pointing towards what looked like a robotic two headed dragon being piloted by two krang.

"Hold on to something," the orange masked turtle shouted as he weaved through Dimension X trying desperately to avoid the metal dragon shooting purple lightning bolts at them.

Mikey weaved the ship through Dimension X as he tried to avoid the beast without getting to off course from the technodrome. Suddenly, an idea came to him when he saw a field of metal piping that made a direct route to where they needed to go. With a push of a button, the pair were flying through the narrow field of metal pieces.

The pair started feeling like they had finally lost their dragon friend when he was suddenly back on their tail. Mikey did his best to maneuver them until one lucky shot hit the side of their ship. Before the orange masked turtle could gain control, the ship crashed right into the side of the technodrome.

...

Oroku Saki felt unstoppable as he fought his long time enemy. Tonight, he would finally end this feud, he would finally destroy Hamato Yoshi. When last they fought, he thought his victory was his when he watched the other man fall into the whirlpool. That victory was ripped from him when he found out that his enemy still breathed. He would not make that mistake again, this time he would watch Hamto Yoshi choke on his own blood.

The pair went at it each other with all of their skill. Both fighters were gifted in their art and both them had something they felt was worth fighting for.

Shredder finally got the better of his opponent with brute strength, sending Splinter flying into the wall of a store before crumpling to the ground. Shredder approached the other man slowly, savoring the moment. As he got closer, he raised his blades over his head.

"At last we end this," Shredder said before he went in for his final strike.

He was shocked however when his victory was once again thwarted. Out of nowhere a force blocked his attack before sending him flying away from Hamato Yoshi and onto his back in the middle of the street. Rage and confusion consumed Oroku Saki as he rose from the ground. He looked up to see who had dared to get in between him and his revenge. To his surprise, the force that had taken him off guard was a petite vixen mutant with frighteningly familiar eyes.

"Who are you that dares to get in my way?" he demanded.

"A ghost," the vixen replied simply with a small smirk.

Shredder chuckled before he said, "I don't believe in ghost stories."

"Then I shall have to simply make you a believer," she replied.

"Very well," he said before attacking the vixen.

Shredder quickly learned that the woman was a formidable opponent. She blocked his attacks and used her size to her advantage. If he didn't know any better, he would think the vixen was dancing with him rather than fighting. It reminded him of another strong fighter from another life time ago. Suddenly, he looked at those eyes again. Those eyes that were like seeing an old friend, but from where he could not place.

Before he could put a face to match those eyes, he found himself being attacked from the side. He looked to see that his attacker was none other than the man he thought he had left crumpled on the ground. Hamato Yoshi, glared at him with renewed rage and determination as he stood protectively in front of the vixen.

"This battle ends between you and me Saki. Just as it was always meant to be. I will not allow any more innocent blood to be spilled in the crossfire of our feud," Splinter growled out with clenched fists.

The vixen looked as though she wanted to say something else but Splinter stared at her fiercely and shook his head. The woman reluctantly stepped back, allowing their battle to continue at last, and this time it would be till the bitter end.

...

The three elder Hamato brothers, fought as one. Together taking down enemy, after enemy, after enemy that dared to come their way. Leo watched out for their sister as she fought nearby along with her partner. He had to admit, the pair were a force to be reckoned with. The two girls were powerful opponents alone, but as a team they were unstoppable.

The blue masked turtle then looked over to where he last saw their father. His heart nearly went into his throat when he saw who he was fighting. Raphael and Donatello finished off their opponents before they noticed as well.

"We need to help him," Raph said. He was about to run over but was quickly stopped by his older brother.

"It's not our fight," Leo explained to him.

"Who the fuck cares? Shredder is no match for us if we go at him as one clan," the red masked turtle argued. He was already feeling useless enough not being able to protect their baby brother in Dimension X but now being told this was almost too much for the protective turtle to bear.

"I know, little brother; believe me I want to be over there just as bad as you do...but this time we need to trust father, to fight this battle himself," Leo said.

Raph wanted so much to be mad at his brother for not doing what needed to be done to help their father. However, he stopped himself when he saw how much this weighed on Leo to have to make this decision. The blue masked turtle had his fists clenched and his body shook as he watched their father fight their sworn enemy.

"What we can do, is make sure it stays a fair fight. We keep the foot bots and krang away from that battle at all costs. We give father, his best chance to win this fight," Leo said to his little brothers as confidently as he could.

Both Raph and Donnie nodded their heads before they followed their older brother as he headed his way towards the battle. They would do whatever they had to do to support their father the best way they knew how.

...

Krang slowly approached the crashed ship on the technodrome. When they were close enough to the ship's entrance, it suddenly flew open before team M&M dropped down and took them out before they knew what was happening. The pair quickly moved towards the entrance of the technodrome and went inside before anymore krang could attack.

"That seemed to easy," Maya commented suspiciously.

Noises made the pair turn around to see that the tenodrome will filled to the brim with krang in bot of all shapes and sizes.

"You just had to say something didn't you?" Mikey joked making his mate glare at him playfully.

The krang wasted no time trying ambush the pair that had invade thier territory. Mikey made quick work of a couple of krang in ships before using the ships like hover shoes. The orange masked turtle quickly flew towards a bot shooting at him before taking him out and stealing his gun. He then started flying around the technodrome shooting any krang that flew near him.

Maya stayed completely still as the krang came at her. The mermaid smiled sweetly as the pink blobish creatures started to suddenly feel strange. The liquid in thier bodies started moving their bodies against their wishes. Suddenly, all of the krang that had attacked the teenage girl were floating in the air, all looking very uncertain. The girl quickly clapped her hands together and the same time, all the floating krang blobs hit each other repeatedly until they were all unconscious before letting them all fall gracelessly to the ground below the bridge.

They looked around to make sure that no Krang were left before they smiled at each other and Mikey cheered, "God we're good."

"So modest beloved," Maya giggled as she made her way over to the computer and started typing like a mad mermaid.

"Found where the mutagen goes," Mikey commented as he pulled out the tube of retro mutagen.

"Just a moment Mikey. This one need to configure the ship to accept the retro mutagen. We do not want the engine to seize," Maya said.

After a few minutes of Maya tinkering with the computer, they were ready to add the retro mutagen. The pair watched in fascination as emerald green turned into bright orange. The pair looked at each other and smiled before they prepared to put the rest of their plan in motion.
