"They follow the Black Fang due south. Although the trail vanishes, Lyn uses her tracking skills, and the pursuit continues. The path leads up into Bern's impassable mountains. The peaks know no seasons, and the snow covers all in a bright blanket. In this land of blinding reflections, an ancient castle appears." David said.

"Hmm...the trail's gone cold. Seems this was as far as I could track her." Lyn said as they looked at an old snow covered castle.

"Hmm...well it's no proof that it's a base. Perhaps a stronghold for some of their forces though." Hera said.

"I can hear faint voices...maybe some of them are still here." Shoji said. "Should we try to get closer and eavesdrop on their conversation?"

"Bad idea. These people are assassins. They likely take caution against acts like that. So...we should go ahead and attack now when they aren't expecting it." Kabuki said.

"Besides, we likely already know what it's about." David said.

"Well, if you think that's the right call...let's go." Mark stated.

Without a second thought or word, the group attacked the fortress in a preemptive assault, catching the Black Fang off guard.

"An attack eh? Whoever our enemy is, they must be bold." the commander inside the fortress said, drawing his sword. "Let them come. My blade hungers, and it will feast on them!"

The soldiers cheered as they ran out to meet them head on.

"Looks like you were right about not going to spy on them." Shoji said.

"Kabuki is an assassin herself, after all. She knows a thing or two about how they operate." Sectonia said.

"Wow, would you look at all these people?" Issei said, punching one of the soldiers into a group of advancing enemies. "Hard to believe this place can hold so many."

"I know, right?" Amethyst replied, knocking another group off their feet. "How can that Nergal guy get so many of these guys to work for him?"

"Probably through fear. Well, most cases, anyway." Cheetah said avoiding a sword strike.

"Hahaha! That's right my soldiers! Cut them up! Chop them into little pieces! Feed your swords!" the commander shouted as he laughed.

"Did you think you'd go unnoticed? I can smell your bloodlust from a mile away." Cheetah said.

"Oh, you're a strange one. I can't wait to skin you and make you a rug." he said laughing like a madman.

"You won't even get the chance." Cheetah said.

"Hahahahaha! I'm gonna slaughter you!" the man said, charging at Cheetah.

He slashed at her with all his might, or so he thought, as he only cut an after image. "What?!"

"Where are you looking? I'm right here!" Cheetah calls speeding from behind and cutting him with her claws.

"G-Gwah...it...hurts...these...cuts…" he gasped before collapsing onto the ground.

"Whoa… That was amazing. If you came at me like that when we were still enemies, I'd probably be dead." David said.

"Don't be worried, Ishihara. After all, you taught me that my life is more than just being a killer. There is more worth in having a rivalry not dealt in blood, but…. Through a bond that is shared commonly." Cheetah said.

"It looks like we got all of them." Vector said.

"Yes, but what could they have possibly been planning?" Hector wondered.

"I have an idea." Kabuki said holding some assassination plans. "We need to head back to the castle immediately."

"Are those…" Adora asked.

"Assassination plans. They're going to kill the prince." Kabuki said.

"That's not good. Come on, people. We don't have much time." David said.
