"Okay class, your assignment for today is to find a place to intern at for the week, you have many submissions from several agencies, so you should all have options", Aizawa said, handing out papers.

Once Trace received his paper, he looked at the agencies and names shown to him. He kept going, not really feeling any of these agencies, but one caught his eye. Gran Torino. A speedy hero. If he wanted any chance at being a hero, then he needed to figure out speed. This was a golden opportunity. Trace of course put a few other agencies on his paper before pulling out his phone. Trace searched through his contacts to find Gran Torino's info was still in it.

"Any reason you have your phone out instead of working on finding an agency to intern at", Aizawa said to Trace.

"I figured out where to intern at already, turns out I already have contacts with some of these agencies", Trace said joyfully.

Everyone turned to face Trace surprised, including Bakugo, who seemed annoyed.

"How did you find an agency to intern at so fast", Mineta asked.

"Gran Torino and I are good friends as well as he taught me how to control my barriers", Trace said raising a barrier.

Mineta slouched over in his chair mumbling something under his breath.

"What Mineta", Trace said, slightly annoyed.

"What", Mineta said, scared someone heard him.

"If there's something you want to say then say it Mineta, don't just say things about me behind my back", Trace's eyes began glowing yellow and blue.

Mineta looked stunned, but held firm simply saying, "you are super lucky Trace".

"To be honest, I feel like luck is all I have going for me", Trace said, looking to the ground.

"We both know luck didn't carry you through the sports festival", Mina said immediately.

Murmurs began erupting, talking about Trace's performance at the festival, not a single bad comment.

"Thanks guys", was all Trace said, lifting his head high.

Mineta, defeated, simply sighed and continued searching for an agency.

"Guess we'll see how you've been, old-timer", Trace thought to himself.

After a few hours everyone had an agency picked, they were told to meet up at the train station where they would head to their agencies.

"Now I know you're all excited, but until your train arrives, you are to stay with the group", Aizawa said to the class.

"Not an issue sir", Trace said smiling.

Aizawa was about to turn before remembering, he looked at Trace and said, "I apologize for my actions yesterday trace, I had made an assumption and was completely wrong, I hope you can forgive me for what I have done".

Trace simply smiled before saying, "I see no reason to hold a grudge sir, I'm just glad everything was sorted out before internships occured".

"Agreed", Aizawa said with a smile.

Once this conversation ended everyone turned to their own little groups. Mina, Trace, Iida, Uraraka, and Todoroki as one of said groups.

"Internships should be a blast huh Trace?", Mina asked with giddiness.

"For sure, If Gran Torino is anything like he was 2 years ago, I should be fast enough to actually react to most attacks instead of having to take the brunt and counter attack", Trace said, arm behind his back.

"I chose my father's agency since he can teach me how to control my fire better", Todoroki said, looking at his left hand.

"With the agency I chose, I should gain plenty of hand to hand combat experience", Ochacko said with a grin.

Iida surprisingly had been quiet the whole time, Hand holding his chin.

"Iida?" Trace looked to his friend in confusion.

Iida seemed to jump upon his name being said before letting out a kind of frenzied "Yes Trace".

Trace recognized this immediately. "Is something up Iida".

Iida brought his hand down before dropping his arms to his sides. "I'm okay, just thinking about how I'm gonna introduce myself".

Trace shrugged before saying, "I think the best way to do it is to state your name and how you wish to learn as much as you can from them".

"Soo just suck up to them so they think you actually care", A voice said behind Trace.

Trace turned in surprise to see Mineta behind him.

"Mineta", Trace began, annoyed in his voice. "What are you trying to pull now dude".

"We both know you don't actually care about being a hero, you just want to get the girls to yourself", Mineta said angrily.

This set Trace off, inhibitors or not, he would not have been able to control himself. But he would never regret his next action. He walked up to Mineta, and punched him in the eye, blacking it in seconds.

The whole class and even Aizawa had turned to see the commotion.

"What the hell man", Mineta said angrily.

If Mineta was angry, Trace was LIVID.

"IS THAT WHY YOU THINK I'M HERE MINETA", every class 1-a student was watching in horror and amusement. "UNLIKE YOU, I'M NOT HERE TO LOOK AT GIRLS, I'M HERE TO ACTUALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE", Traces eyes were a golden color, "I CAME TO UA SO I COULD CONTROL MY POWERS AND SHOW THE WORLD THAT ANYONE CAN BE A HERO, I WANT TO SAVE EVERYONE I CAN SO I WORK ENDLESSLY TO SAVE MY FRIENDS, AND EVERYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN'T FIGHT, I WANT TO STAND FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T, I WANT TO FIGHT FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T, I WANT TO BE THERE FOR THOSE IN NEED", Trace was staring Mineta down with an endless rage, "AND YOU HAVE THE FUCKING GULL TO SAY I'M HERE FOR MY OWN GAIN", Trace had grabbed Mineta by the collar before lifting him to his level. "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, I'M DONE WITH YOUR CRAP MINETA, LEAVE ME ALO-", Trace's body froze.

Mineta freed himself from his grip and took a step back, admiring his handiwork. Trace had fallen to the ground, clutching his heart, shaking uncontrollably, tears streaming down his face.

"So the supposed hero reveals his true colors as a murderer", Mineta said before punching Trace square in the cheek.

Trace fell to the ground in pain, hand still over his heart, body convulsing viciously.

"TRACE", Mina was the first to act, pushing Mineta away before getting to her knees, hitting the buttons on his wristbands. Mina pulled Trace into a hug, wrapping him in her warmth.

Trace eventually returned the hug, sobbing into her shoulder. "I'm so sorry I did that Mina, I'm sorry I got so angry", Trace had hugged her closer, still shaking badly.

"shh, shh, you are not a burden, you had all the right to be angry there Trace, You're okay baby, You're okay". Mina had begun rubbing his back to further her words.

Mineta saw this and began steaming before running toward Trace, "Take this", Mineta screamed, pulling a ball off his head to throw. He had thrown the ball, Trace couldn't react in time. The ball had hit him on his eyelids. But the ball didn't stick. It had just fallen.

"Mineta", Aizawa said quite sternly. Mineta was silently freaking out. "If another incident between you and Trace occurs, I will not hesitate to give you detention for a week alongside prohibiting you from going on your internship", Aizawa said angrily.

Mineta had tried to make an excuse but he was stuttering too bad to say anything. Eventually he simply sighed, "understood sir", before hanging his head in defeat.

Mina had continued to whisper reassurances to him, trying to calm him back down. Mineta had set her progress back a bit, but she was eventually able to calm the Brown haired kid enough to allow him to stand.

Trace finally found his feet beneath him before snuggling up against Mina. "Thank you so much Mina", Trace purred when she began rubbing his hair.

"I'm here for you Trace, We are here for you", before turning his head to look at the many faces around him. Trace soon realized he had an outburst in front of the entire class. Trace hung his head low before saying, "I'm sorry for the way I acted, I shouldn't had let Mineta get to me".

"Are you kidding Trace?", Kirishima said bewildered.

Trace looked at Kirishima with much surprise.

"The way Mineta treated you wasn't manly at all, he took advantage of your condition to harm you. You had all the right to be angry at him", Kirishima spoke with such conviction.

The class all started saying reassurances to Trace, some justifying his anger, some simply forgiving him, and some praising him for trying to knock some sense into Mineta.

"Alright, alright, That's enough guys", Aizawa said before turning to Trace, "Trace, you are not in trouble, to me it appears Mineta instigated the argument, but I do not wish for this to become common with you Trace", Aizawa spoke calmly and clearly.

"Thank you sir", Trace said, arm still around Mina.

"Now prepare to take off, Your train has arrived Trace". Aizawa pointed to a train that had just pulled in.

Trace turned to his friends, saying, "I'm gonna miss you guys", He then turned to Mina and gave her a peck on the lips. "I'm especially gonna miss you Mina", He whispered into her ear, before separating from his girlfriend. He began walking away, waving to his friends before boarding the train.

Mina sat there in shock for a moment before grinning from ear to ear.

"Looks like you got a good one Mina", toru whispered into Mina's ear.

MIna began blushing heavily before hiding her face from toru.

"Ashido, your train just arrived", Aizawa said pointing to another train.

"Mina immediately grabbed her stuff, and waved to her friends before departing.

(Trace)

Trace had just reached the building. He smiled upon observing the building. "Still as run down as ever. I see".

Trace walked up a small set of stairs before knocking on the door of his old friend's door. After a few seconds Trace opened the door to a pitch black room. He flipped the switch he remembered being by the door to a horrendous sight. Gran Torino on the ground, covered in what appears to be blood, and intestines. Trace began running to Gran Torino before getting to his knees.

"GRAN TORINO, ARE YOU O- huh… OH MY GOD TORINO I'M GOING TO THROW YOU OUT THE WINDOW". Trace got up and began pacing back and forward.

The man on the floor began laughing. "Oh.. OH… THAT WAS GREAT".

Trace turned to the man with anger before smiling, "how're you doing Old-timer", Trace said, extending a hand to Gran Torino.

"Old -Timer", Torino said jokingly, "I haven't even hit 60 yet".

This caused laughter to erupt from both occupants of the room.

"Oh, okay, so what did you want to work on, there must be a good reason you chose me", Torino asked.

"My reaction times are terrible", Trace began, "If I want to protect those around me, then I need to be able to react as fast as possible".

"Reaction time eh", Gran Torino put a hand to his chin while thinking, "The best place for you to start would be something slow, and then work up until we get to a bullet".

"Okay", Trace said, putting on a brown fox mask, "let's get to work".

(6 hours later)

Trace laid in a bed, body in so much pain. But he had done it, he had gotten his reaction speeds to surpass the speed of a bullet. Even Gran Torino was surprised at how fast he got it down. He told Trace to be ready for tomorrow as they would be patrolling and fighting villains to further raise his reaction times.

He was gonna be heading to Hosu, where Iida was interning. He shot Iida a text to let him know they might end up patrolling the same area, but Iida didn't text back. "Well that's strange", Trace mumbled to himself. Iida was the kind of guy that would respond the second he read the message.

"You kids and your cell phones these days", Gran Torino said jokingly.

"Funny enough, the only reason I have a phone is to call and text others,'' Trace said laughing.

"Serious talk now", Gran Torino said, his joyful expression leaving his face in place of a stern one, "once we get to Hosu I don't want any nonsense from you".

"Understood Torino", Trace said with determination.

"GET DOWN", someone screamed on the train.

By the time Trace heard the person, something came crashing through the train, looking around at the occupants. Gran Torino immediately got to his feet and tackled the beast out of the train.

"GRAN TORINO", Trace jumped out of the train, chasing after his current mentor.

"Something's happening, these creatures aren't normal", a voice said close by. Trace looked to the ground to see Iida and his mentor Masaki Mizushima running toward the danger.

Trace silently followed Iida and Masaki. Heading for the danger area himself. That's when he heard it. A portal opening up. He turned his head to Shigiraki walking through said portal, admiring his handy work. Trace immediately hid under the tower to avoid detection. He was waiting for a few minutes before remembering. "My friend's in danger", he thought to himself. He pumped all of his fear into one powerful sprint, running after his friends, not worrying about the people behind him now.

He kept jumping alleyways, jumping from building to building to reach the danger rare until he heard the sound of metal hitting metal. He immediately stopped and turned back to the alleyway he passed to a horrible sight. Iida was on the ground, a man standing above him, sword raised to kill. He couldn't allow it.

He charged forward, and punched the man square in the gut, sending him flying back. "DON'T LAY A FINGER ON MY FRIEND", Trace said, covering his face with the fox mask.

"So what's this then", the figure said to Trace. "Are you another wannabe hero coming to kill me to prove themselves".

Trace had hidden his phone behind his back, shooting Todoroki a text sending his location and a message saying, "danger, send help" He put the phone back in his pocket to avoid suspicion.

Trace took in a breath before saying, "I don't know who the hell you are, but I know you're trying to hurt my friend, and I simply can't allow you to hurt him anymore", Trace prepared to grab Iida until he heard a cough. He turned his head to the right to see a pro-hero Native sitting against a wall, paralyzed.

"Crap", Trace thought internally, "Djinn, how long till you can fight".

"I'm sorry", Djinn said sorrowfully, "I simply won't be ready for battle in time, your inhibitors make it harder to feed off of emotion".

"Then i'll simply remove them", Trace said aloud, "REMOVE INHIBITORS". He could hear the wristbands click but they didn't fall off. "I'm guessing they don't remove it but they just stop restraining".

"Why are you hurting these people", Trace asked, hoping to stall for time.

"These scum are fakes, they claim to be Heroes but only care about their own greedy wants", the man said. "And I, Stain, will purge the world of them".

"YOUR ABOUT TO KILL MY FRIEND, YOU SEEM TO BE ON THIS TANGENT ABOUT HOW HEROES ARE GREEDY BUT YOU'RE KILLIN THEM FOR YOUR OWN GREEDY REASONS YOU HYPOCRITE" Trace readied his hands to a battle stance before saying, "Even if every bone is broken, even if all my blood is spilt, I will continue fighting". He lunged at the hero killer, preparing to use a barrier. As Stain aimed for his head, he slid under the attack blocking with the barrier. He put his feet underneath him before launching up with an uppercut. He immediately jumped above Stain before coming down on him with an Axe kick, sending them both plummeting to the ground, each landing with a thud.

Trace got to his feet quickly turning to face the hero killer.

"Ready Djinn?", Trace asked internally.

"Good to go", was all Djinn answered with.

"Then let's go". Darkness began to take control of Trace's right side, eyes becoming a dark purple.

Stain upon seeing this simply laughed."I see now", Stain glared into Trace's eyes with conviction, "You're no hero either, you're a murderer".

Trace's purple eyes became a golden color. "YES I HAVE KILLED, BUT I HAVE LEFT THAT PATH BEHIND, I WANT TO BECOME A PROPER HERO, I CAN'T MAKE AMENDS BUT I CAN START OVER, AND DO THINGS RIGHT". Trace charged at Stain, right arm extended. Stain simply blocked with his sword, cutting Djinn's arm slightly.

Stain smiled as he looked at the blood on his sword. He licked the blood, waiting for the paralyzes to occur, but it never did.

"I WON'T LET YOU TAKE ANOTHER LIFE", Trace brought his leg around to attack but was too slow. Stain ducked down before slashing upwards, an attack Trace could barely dodge. Trace followed up with a swing from above, hoping to corner Stain. Stain jumped to the side before holding a knife to Trace's neck.

"Check mate", Stain slid the knife across Trace's neck, cutting it open. Trace fell to the ground, covering his neck to stem the blood flow. "You false heroes must be purged", Stain turned to Iida, deciding whether he should kill him or native next. Before an eruption of darkness caught his attention. He turned back to see Trace fully encased in shadows, eyes a dark purple.

"What was it you said", Djinn asked, "Oh yeah, Check mate". Djinn charged, attacking Stain from multiple angles at once, catching the hero killer off guard. The hero killer could barely deflect and dodge the incoming attacks. "You're still too slow to defeat me, murderer". Stain said confidently, but a hint of uncertainty crept it's way into his voice.

"Then maybe I have to go a little faster", Djinn said, clapping his hands together. A shadow bubble encloses Djinn and Stain in. Djinn jumped into the shadows, watching his opponent like a predator with prey. "Listen well villain, I will not let you hurt them, You will be detained for the sake of all heroes". Djinn launched out from the shadows, clipping Stain with a punch to his gut.

Stain began swinging wildly at the air, fear and confusion consuming him. "WHERE ARE YOU MURDERER".

"Right here", Djinn said before socking him in the face before flying into the shadows again..

Everytime Stain got his barings he would be hit again, disorienting him. He couldn't win like this. He grabbed a throwing knife from his set of many and aimed it to where he remembered Ingenium standing and threw it with all his force.

The knife flew through the darkness before stopping, blood appearing at the edge of the blade. The bubble of darkness dissipated to reveal Djinn standing in front of Ingenium with a knife in his arm. Djinn pulled the knife out of his arm, the wound healing instantaneously. "I can't let you do that". Djinn rushed Stain, anger in his movements. Just what stain needed.

"DJINN NO", Trace said in his head. Stain arched back, ready to counter his rash movements.

Suddenly Djinn stopped, Darkness retreating into Trace. The Brown fox stopped dead in his tracks, looking at the hero killer. Before raising barriers around Stain, trapping him in a bubble of sorts. "You stay there until other heroes arrive", Trace said, trying to hide his fatigue.

Stain immediately pulled out two swords before swinging wildly into the barrier repeatedly, straining Trace tremendously.

"Djinn, are you calm enough", Trace asked aloud.

"I fed too much on your anger, I can't come out without losing control, You're on your own unfortunately". Djinn said, furious.

Stain kept striking, every second put strain on Trace before Stain swung with as much power as he could putting both swords through the barrier, causing Trace to fall to the ground in pain.

Stain sheathed one sword before approaching the fox on the ground. "You will never be a hero", Stain raised his sword above his head, preparing to cut into the one he deemed murderer. Until a hit of fire forced him to jump back.

Trace, clutching his sides, turned to see Todoroki, staring at the sight in front of him. "HE… HE HAS THE POWER… TO PARALYZE YOU THROUGH BLOOD", Trace finally got out, blood coming out of his mouth.

"Thank goodness I got here when I did", Todoroki said with a serious tone.

Trace began rising to his feet slowly, making sure he was steady. "We have two wounded, Stain wants me Ingenium, and Native dead, so we can't run", Trace got into a fighting stance, "So we need to hold out until the heroes arrive".

"Okay, let's do it", Todoroki ignited his fire, sending it above Stain to keep him low.

Trace went high, preparing a barrier to push the hero killer into the fire. But he was too fast.

Stain jumped above Trace, preparing to cut into him with as much force as possible.

Trace raised a barrier above him to absorb the impact. The swords connected but the barrier broke, the momentum of the swords were stopped though. He raised a hand and punched Stain square in the cheek with as much strength as he could without killing him. The hero killer flew into the fire, being covered in burns and scratches. Stain laid motionless on the ground.

"Is he", Todoroki stuttered before breathing in, starting over, "Is he dead".

"No, he's still breathing, and he's got a pulse", Trace said, feeling his neck.

"We need to tie him up or something", Native said, still paralyzed from the Hero killers quirk.

Trace walked past the hero killer preparing to search a trash can close by for rope when a shout from behind caught his attention. "WATCH OUT", Todoroki had his fire power up but wasn't firing. Trace barely had time to put his arms up in defense before he was peppered with scratches all over his body, Stain kept striking, each strike more viscous than the last.

"BURN HIM TODOROKI", Trace screamed, he felt himself being pushed backwards a little.

Stain smiled, "He won't risk hitting you killer, You're on your own".

"BURN BOTH OF US TODOROKI, PLEASE, I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE HURT".

Todoroki hesitated but felt a gust of wind to his left. He didn't have time to turn before he heard, "RECIPRO BURST".

Stain turned only to be greeted with a powerful kick to the face, sending him sprawling him into the wall.

"Trace, Todoroki, no more blood shall be spilled for me", Iida said determined.

"Oh please, a man doesn't change in the span of a few minutes", Stain said, launching toward Iida, Sword extended to pierce Iida's armor. Stain had a malicious grin on his face, determined to strike at least one of them down. The sword connects, piercing out the other end of him.

Iida went wide eyed, tears streaming down his face. Todoroki and Native just stood by, eyes wide as pie plates, And Trace stood there, blood still spilling from his mouth, eyes wide, pain through his whole body, sword in his gut. "You… won't... Hurt… them", Trace was barely standing, body shaking profusely.

Stain pulled the sword from his gut Initiating a scream from Trace.

Trace looked Stain in the eyes, his own a mixture of yellow, blue, and purple. He reared his arm back before breaking the sword Stain held in half. Following up with a roundhouse kick to stain's temple, knocking him out of commission.

Stain fell to the ground with a thud, no longer moving. Trace immediately covers him with a barrier before turning to Todoroki and Iida. "Find some rope or something we can use to tie him up".

Iida and Todoroki immediately obliged, sifting through trash cans until Todoroki came upon some rope. They tied him up and began taking all of Stain's weapons off of him, which was easier said than done since he had enough weapons to support an army.

"You shouldn't have to worry about me Native, I can walk", Trace said as he was hoisted onto Native's back.

"You saved my life Kid, at least let me do this for you", Native said kindly.

Trace after much hesitation, nodded. "Thank you Native".

"I should be thanking you kid, if you hadn't have found us when you did, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now", Native said cheerfully.

The four exited the alleyway, looking around at the calm around them. They were in that alleyway for all of 10 minutes, but it felt like hours had passed.
