It was now then end of May and Sara only had a few weeks left of her pregnancy and she had loved every minute of it. Grissom and herself had decided not to move into their own house as they didn't want to have too much pressure on themselves. Robert had told them they were more than welcome to live with them, both of them and the baby, which they had agreed to. They turned one of the spare rooms in the Sidle house into a nursery, painting it a pale yellow with white furniture as they had decided to wait till the birth to find out the sex of the baby. Their friends and family had been very supportive of them throughout the whole pregnancy, Sara and Catherine had been shopping many times for baby clothes and Grissom and the guys had built the furniture with the help of Catherine and Sara.

It was now the 30th of May and it was Robert Sidles birthday, they had decided to have party for him since it was a big birthday for him, it was his 50th.

The party was happening at the Sidle house, Grissom, Sara and the rest of the her family spent the day decorating the house and making food for the party. Laura had gone shopping to get last minutes bits and bobs for the party. It was just after half 7 and their guests were due to arrive any minute now, the guest included Sara's family on both her mums and dads side, Girssom's close family, Robert and Laura's friends and some work colleagues as well as Sara and Grissom's close friends from school.

Sara just finished putting on her silver love heart earrings then turned to Grissom who was stood smiling at her.

"What?" Sara asked with a giggle.

"Just looking at how beautiful you are" he told her as he walked towards her.

Sara wore a tight black body con maternity dress, with her necklace from her dad on. Her hair was down and curly, the way she knew Grissom loved it. She also had on her slippers since she didn't want to be uncomfortable in heels as her feet were slightly swollen as a result of the pregnancy.

"Well you don't look too bad yourself Mr Grissom" Sara said as the two wrapped their arms around one another.

Grissom was wearing some black dress trousers with a pale blue shirt that Sara loved, he had on some black dress shoes as well.

"I love you Sar" Grissom told her kissing her softly

"I love you too babe"

As she said that they both felt the baby kick, they placed their hands on her stomach and smiled looking at the bump.

"We love you too trouble" Sara said to the bump while laughing.

"Right, we should go downstairs now that we're ready"

"Yes we should, I'm hungry!" Sara said as she started walking out the room.

"Of course you are" he laughed as he followed her out the room and down the stairs.

When they got downstairs they noticed some of the guests had arrived which included their friends, Grissom's family and Sara's mum's parents. Sara made a beeline for the food where she grabbed a bowl of crisps, she then went over to her grandparents to say hello to them with Grissom.

"Hey papa!"

"There's my little grand-daughter and bump! How are you both doing toots?" her grandfather asked while giving her a hug.

"We're great papa, I've missed you so much" she said hugging him back after giving Grissom the bowl.

"I've missed you too sweetie!"

"Hey Arthur and Jane!" Grissom greeted the two grandparents.

"Son, what have we told you before, call us papa and gran! You're family now!" Arthur told him patting him on the back.

"Sorry" Grissom laughed.

Grissom and Sara spoke to her grandparents for a few more minutes before going to speak to Grissom's family. After speaking to them for a bit they went to see their friends, taking Mia with them. She missed Grissom a lot, only getting to see him a few times a week since he moved out the house. Sara, Grissom, Mia and their friends which included Greg all were in the living room chatting about how school was nearly over and what they were all going to do in summer and where they were all going to go after. All of them had decided to go to university at UNLV to study, all of them bar Sara who decided she needed to be with her baby and have a part time job at least for the next year or so. Grissom had tried to convince Sara to go to university at least part time, thinking she wasn't going cause she didn't think she could do it but she insisted that she wanted to stay at home with the baby for a while, she didn't want to miss out on the baby's first year.

"Well Sar, it means you'll just have to come meet us on our lunch breaks and after uni instead" Catherine told her.

"And of course we'll be round to see you and this little one all the time, we don't want to miss out on seeing this one grow up" Nick told her while the others agreed.

"Thanks guys, I know I'll see you's all the time. I'm not worried about anything, I'm just excited" Sara told them with a huge grin on her face.

"Glad to hear it girl" Warrick told her.

"Hey Sar, when's mum doing the cake for dad?" Greg asked getting impatient.

"I'll go see Greggo" Sara said laughing.

Sara got up off the couch with the help of Grissom and made her way to find her mum, the others stayed where they were and carried on chatting. As Sara made her way to the kitchen to see if her mum was there she started to feel a pain and winced. She put her hands on her bump and waited for the pain to pass, she knew what this pain meant.

"Listen baby G, you need to stay in there for a little while longer, it's you're papas day" she whispered to her bump.

After a minutes passed by without anymore pain she rubbed a hand over her bump and carried on walking to the kitchen where she saw her mum.

"Hey mumma, Greggo's asking when we're doing the cake. You know how he gets when cakes involved" Sara said to her mum while still rubbing her bump.

"Well baby girl I'm just putting the last candle on, it'll be out in just a minute. Betty's getting everyone into the living room as we speak" Laura told her daughter as she put the last candle on the cake.

Sara didn't say anything back to her mum as she felt another pain. Laura looked at her daughter and saw a pained expression on her face, she walked quickly over to her and placed her hands on the side of her face.

"I'm all good mum, promise! The baby just kicked me really hard" Sara lied.

"Okay sweetie, if you're sure!"

Sara nodded and smiled at her mum who smiled back and kissed her daughters forehead. She then walked back over to the cake and lit the candles. The two Sidle women walked to the living room, Laura carrying the cake. Everyone started singing Happy Birthday as they entered the room. Robert Sidle was stood in the middle of the room with Greg, who had placed a birthday hat on his dads head, next to him. The Sidle women walked over to them until they were standing in front of them.

"Happy birthday daddy" Sara said kissing her dads cheek.

He smiled at his daughter then blew out the candles, kissing his wife after doing so. Everyone cheered as he blew his candles out.

"So dad, what did you wish for?" Greg asked.

"Well son, if I tell you then it won't come true now, will it?" Robert said ruffling his sons hair.

"Aw, come on daddy, just whisper it so only we can hear it" Sara said smiling at him.

"No can do princess, it's a secret. I'll tell you when it comes true"

Sara laughed and rolled her eyes, Laura then asked who wanted some cake. Just as people were going to answer Sara let out a scream.

"SARA!" Grissom shouted as he ran over to her.

She was hunched over in pain, both hands on her stomach. Grissom and her dad were by her sides instantly. They helped her sit down on a chair someone had brought over to them.

"What's wrong sweetie?" Laura asked as she came over to her worried, one of the guest had taken the cake from her so she could see to her daughter.

"It hurts, it hurts so much!" Sara said still in a lot of pain.

"Greg! Call an ambulance son!" Robert shouted.

Greg ran to get his phone and called for an ambulance, most of the guest left the room to give the family some privacy. The other people left in the room were Sara, her parents, Grissom, Greg, Betty and Catherine.

"They said they'll be here as soon as they can dad!" Greg told them running back over to his sister.

"Okay, thanks son!"

"You okay Sar?" Grissom asked with a worried look on his face.

Sara grabbed his hand and looked at him, she had a smile on her face. "I don't think this baby wants to wait much longer."

The two laughed, Grissom kissed her forehead and ran his thumb across her hand.

"Looks like we're going to be parents very soon then, huh?"

Sara nodded and laughed again before letting out another scream, this time tears started spilling from her eyes.

"I need to lie down" Sara said.

Grissom and Robert helped her to get off the chair and lie her on the floor, Grissom sitting behind her so she was in between his legs still holding her hand. Catherine and Betty had place towels around and over Sara while Laura and Robert sat either side of their daughter making sure she was okay.

Greg who didn't know what to do said he was going to go wait for the ambulance to arrive. As he left Sara shouted to him.

"Greg!"

He ran over to her and grabbed the hand that wasn't being held by Grissom.

"What's up?"

"Greg, I'm having a baby!"

"I know and you're going to be the best mother to this baby. I believe in you. I love you sis, always" Greg said squeezing her hand slightly.

"I love you too Greggo, thank you! Not just for that but for being the best big brother ever."

"Always sis, now I'm going to see where the ambulance is. You keep that baby in there till they come, okay?"

Sara nodded and squeezed his hand, he then ran out the room to wait for the paramedics.

Nearly forty minutes had passed and there was still no sign of the ambulance, Sara's contractions were getting closer and closer.

"It hurt so much" Sara cried as another contraction hit her.

"I know baby, but you can do this. Just squeeze my hand as tight as you need to" Grissom told her trying to comfort her the best he could.

"You can do this baby girl, you're doing so well" Laura told her daughter.

"Daddy, it hurts" Sara said looking at her dad. "I can't do this, I'm scared!"

"Listen to me princess, I know it hurts and I'm so sorry it does but I know you can do this. You're my little girl, the bravest girl I know. Now Listen to Gil and squeeze his hand and mine as hard as you need to. You can do this princess, I know you can! I love you Princess" Robert told his daughter.

"I love you too daddy"

Sara screamed in pain again as another contraction hit her.

"Well, I think this baby's taking after Gilbert already. Impatient little one, wants to come say hello to everyone early and quickly. You know Gilbert was born nearly a month early and my labour only lasted a few hours" Betty told Sara.

Sara laughed "As long as it stays in there till I get to the hospital."

Nearly ten minutes later Greg ran back into the room with the paramedics behind him.

"Hey Sara, I hear you're having a baby and they're getting a little impatient" one of the paramedics said after being told what she needed to know by Greg.

Sara nodded her head as the two paramedics got her ready to transport to the hospital with the help of the men. As they headed to the ambulance, Grissom holding Sara's hand as they went, Sara shouted for her dad as they got to the doors of the ambulance.

"Yeah Princess?" Robert said coming to his daughters side instantly.

"I'm sorry about your party" Sara cried.

"Princess, you've nothing to be sorry about. Between you and me, you've made my birthday wish come true" he told her winking at her as the paramedics got her into the van.

Sara smiled at her dad "I love you daddy!"

"I love you too baby girl, always! Now we'll see you at the hospital! Gil, look after my girl!"

"Always!" Grissom said climbing into the back of the ambulance.

Grissom sat next to the bed, Sara grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

"We're going to be parents very soon babe, you ready?"

Sara smiled and told him "with you I'm always ready!"

They smiled at each other as the doors closed and they headed off to the hospital, while everyone from the party got into their cars and headed to the hospital as well.
