Ruby can't help but stretch as she steps off the ferry from Patch. She's always hated the almost two hours long ride from the small independent island to Vale proper. The boat always smells like rotten fish, the passengers were always gloomy, and they always avoided her like she has some kind of plague.
Well, if love is a plague, then she's happily sick!
But she blinks as the familiar scent of an expensive coffee hits her sensitive nose. A scent that seems to fill her senses and block every other scent out, no matter how strong it could be. Looking around, she sighs as she spots Headmaster Ozpin apparently waiting for her, who is looking directly at her while sipping at that massive mug he has constantly in hand.
Lifting her duffel bag, she walks calmly over smiling. Reaching him, she salutes. "Headmaster, I'm guessing my Aunt asked you to turn me around?" She asks bluntly as she keeps her duffel bag on her shoulder, fully expecting to be directed back onto the stinky boat.
To her surprise, he smiles softly. "Actually Miss Branwen, I need a word with you over some recent occurrences." He replies calmly as he turns to walk. "Hungry?" He asks over his shoulder as he sets a steady pace into the city proper.
Ruby nods as she follows him, still a bit on alert at the fact that once again, he found her effortlessly and at the perfect time. "Starving. My little brother kinda ruined my breakfast." She admits while smirking at the memory of throwing the pot full of oatmeal at him, only to get him in trouble with them instead of hitting him.
"Ah yes, the time honored tradition of torturing younger siblings." He agrees, his normal soft smile present. "Unfortunately, I am an only child, so I must content myself with torturing my students instead. Well, the ones I don't like." He corrects himself as he begins to lead them deeper into downtown Vale, passing several restaurants as well as a couple of food stands.
"Ummm, Headmaster? Where are we going?" Ruby asks curiously as her stomach protests audibly at being denied food from all these delicious smelling places they keep passing. Patting her pockets, she audibly groans as she remembers she didn't bring her lien card with her from the dorm room, just to avoid doing exactly what she was planning to do, and that's buy more snacks that she can't really afford on a student's allowance.
"To my home for some lunch." He informs Ruby calmly before taking a sip of coffee. Swallowing it, he looks back at her. "My wife is wanting to meet you, seeing as how she and your mother were classmates. Granted, they were anything but friends, but she wishes to see how her rival's eldest daughter compares."
Ruby audibly groans once more. Auntie Raven warned her this may happen when she started attending Bacon… Beacon! Beacon Academy! Mmmmm, bacon. Weiss makes the best bacon! So tender, yet perfectly crispy…. Goddess but she's starving! Weiss would have already dragged her back to the dorm room and made her one of those tasty meat filled sandwiches she can whip up in no time flat, then smile as she wolfs it down (pun intended) before she uses her own semblance to rush them to their next class.
"Miss Branwen?" The Headmaster calls out. "Welcome to my home." He announces in pride as he stands in front of a modest brownstone townhouse that overlooks Veteran's Park.
Ruby blinks as she realizes that she spaced out thinking about Weiss and food. Weiss's food? Weiss covered in food? Shaking her head to clear it of that sudden erotic thought, she looks at the Headmaster then the townhouse they are standing in front of. But then her eyes focus on the woman standing on the front steps.
The first thought that comes to mind is the fact that she is gorgeous! Long blonde hair, creamy white skin, to die for blue eyes…. But she kind of looks like…..
"Ruby, my wife Salem Arc-Ozpin. Salem, this is Ruby Rose-Branwen." The Headmaster introduces them with a smile, nodding in satisfaction as both women's eyes widen in understanding, then narrow in immediate suspicion.
"Rose-Branwen? So, Summer and Qrow's oldest has already arrived? And has already claimed Weiss Schnee's heart? Impressive." Salem states calmly, a growing smile on her face. "Good, Jaune and Weiss both deserve to be happy."
Ruby blinks in surprise, even as she already moves her hand away from Crescent Rose, while dropping the defensive stance she had taken out of habit. "Wait, what?!" She declares in confusion. She was ready to start growling, threatening, and maybe even commit a crime! What kind of oatmeal cookie madness is this?! Looking at Ozpin himself, her shock grows as he too nods.
"Please, come inside Ruby. All I ask is to not start a battle with my nephew. At least, not until you hear his, as well as our side of the story." He asks as he motions for her to follow Salem, who has already entered the brownstone, leaving the door open. With a nod, she squares her shoulders and strides confidently into the building. She's determined to get the rest of the story, and if necessary, go to plan B.
She isn't above kidnapping Weiss and running away with her. Whatever it takes to save Weiss from marrying Jaune….
