Hello, everyone! The next chapter as arrived and I used the X-Men villain, Shadow King. He deals in possessing people and having a grudge against Professor X.
Because I'm not really into the MCU anymore, this fic is going to my last MCU related fanfic for a very long time, but I will finish this one and make sure it it's wrapped up.
Anyway, hope you all like this one!
"But I just need more time!" screamed Shadow King, the physic monster that lived on the Astral Plane to his often master and benefactor, Amora (or better known as the Enchantress).
"I tire of your excuses, Shadow King. You've wasted so much time on getting revenge on Xavier for trapping you here, that you have faltered from our agreement," Enchantress told her failed apprentice while confronting him on the Astral Plane.
"Xavier will BURN! I would still be ruling my criminal empire in Cairo if he hadn't beaten me!" Shadow King shouted out in rage.
Enchantress looked visibly bored at Shadow King's tiresome rants about Xavier and was adjusting her green head band much to the annoyance of him.
"Are you done?" Enchantress asked while crossing her arms.
"Not until Xavier is dead at my feet!" Shadow King raged.
"You're no match for him. You weren't as Amahl Farouk in the real world and you've been beaten even here," Enchantress said to him as she was referring to a time where Shadow King came up with a convoluted plot to destroy Xavier by luring him to the Astral Plane and then holding him hostage only for his students to free him and for Xavier delivering another humiliating defeat to him.
"It doesn't matter! I will have my revenge!" Shadow King continued to scream.
Enchantress could hear the desperation in Shadow King's voice and had an idea.
"Are you prepared to do whatever you can to destroy Xavier?" Enchantress asked as Shadow King nodded.
"Of course!" Shadow King exclaimed in glee.
"Then what you need is a new host body. One with more power than your previous one," Enchantress explained to Shadow King who looked visibly excited.
"YES!" Shadow King exclaimed with an evil smile.
"I know of one that would be most suitable for you," Enchantress said to him.
"Who?!" Shadow King asked impatiently.
"She is not from our world and is part of another dimension my dear Thor and his precious friends discovered by accident. She has much power which should be enough for you to overpower and destroy Xavier," Enchantress explained bitterly to the gleeful Shadow King.
"YES! I will have my revenge!" Shadow King exclaimed excitedly at the thought of destroying Xavier.
"I will open up a portal for you soon enough to get there, but be warned, many like you have tried and failed to tame this power and have met rather briskly ends," Enchantress warned to him.
"Please! I am Shadow King!" Shadow King arrogantly declared.
"Very well. I will return shortly and you will begin your revenge when I get back," Enchantress said to him as she opened a portal and left the dark and shadowy Astral Plane. If dear little Shadow King wanted to remain in her good graces, he had better come through for once. And the thought of Thor and his precious little friends tasting what she has had to suffer through for the last 150 years would be satisfying. Still though, hopefully Thor would regret his choice of rejecting her all those years ago and for letting her rot on Midgard thanks to Loki forcing her to take the fall for one of his schemes to steal the throne. And there was the matter of Hela killing Skurge that had to be settled too. Soon she will see if her plans come through or not assuming Shadow King can't stop gloating over his non-existent victories for once.
"I don't know, I just feel like Mr. Kasady's violent outburst against you both and your friends was my fault," Kristoff explained sadly to Anna and Elsa while they walking him to Osborn's staging camp outside the temple as he insisted he had to finish what he started. Much to their protest though, but Kristoff was determined to help save Osborn's son's life.
"Why would you even think that Kristoff?" Anna asked upset at what he said.
"Because, people were obviously scared by his appearance and what he could do. I knew this and sent him to make my ice deliveries, anyway. He clearly lashed out like you did Elsa and that's why he went bad," Kristoff explained distraught to the unamused Anna and uncomfortable Elsa.
"I may have not handled things well, but I never intentionally tried to kill anybody!" Elsa screamed out upset while looking at Anna.
"It's not even the same situation, Kristoff," Anna said while walking over and hugging her sister.
"Look, you're right. I'm sorry, Elsa. I just want to help save Mr. Osborn's son's life," Kristoff said while apologizing to Elsa.
"It's okay, Kristoff. I know you didn't mean in that way and thank you, but this guy you're trying to help doesn't feel trustworthy," Elsa said while Kristoff still didn't want to believe that.
"And that's why I'm doing this, because I know Mr. Osborn is only concerned for his son," Kristoff told them as they arrived to the entrance of the staging camp where Osborn came to greet them.
"Mr. Bjorgman! Always a pleasure to have such a kind young man come help me save my son's life," Osborn told them as he started to choke up.
"Happy to help, Mr. Osborn!" Kristoff exclaimed while shaking his hand.
"Just come back when you're done, okay?" Anna told Kristoff while she and Elsa glared at Osborn.
"Oh don't worry, Queen and Fifth Spirit, he couldn't be in better hands," Osborn told them with a fake smile as he and Kristoff started to walk into the staging camp.
"See you soon, guys!" Kristoff told them while getting ready for another day of helping to reunite a father and son.
"I worry about him sometimes, Elsa," Anna said to Elsa as they were walking away.
"Don't worry, Anna. He just thinks he's doing the right thing," Elsa said reassuringly to Anna.
"I sure hope he is," Anna said with a sigh.
"Come on, there's something I want to show you," Elsa said while taking her sister's hand and walking towards a cliff in the forest.
Unfortunately for the two sisters, a corrupt and vile being stepped out from a portal near them.
"Time for what's mine!" Shadow King raged with anger while beginning to track down his new host.
As he moved quickly, he saw his new host body Enchantress told him to take and moved his astral spirit into her.
"Elsa, are you okay?" Anna asked concerned as Elsa dropped down to her knees in pain.
"An…An…Anna get help…." Elsa weakly said as Shadow King was completing his take over.
"Elsa!" Anna screamed out in panic as she tried to help her sister up.
"You fool! Your sister's power is mine to control now!" Shadow King mockingly exclaimed to Anna through Elsa as a portal opened up to take him back to the Astral Plane.
"Let my sister go!" Anna screamed out as she tried to chase after her possessed sister, only to fall into the ground as the portal closed. Not one to ever give up hope; she quickly tracked some of her friends down that elected to stay while the festival was being set up.
"I'm shocked you've just been mediating this whole morning," Loki said sarcastically to Hela who was sitting down on the ground with her legs crossed and eyes closed on the trail they were on which was across from the North Mountain where Elsa's ice palace stood shining ever brighter.
"You had best believe it, brother," Hela said annoyed.
"Well, that's good. See, I told you would come to an arrangement, didn't I?" Loki asked with a smirk while Hela rolled her eyes.
"Yes, yes, yes. Next time, do try harder because that was my hammer," Hela said bitterly.
"Right," Loki said with a sigh.
"Guys! I need your help!" Anna came in while nearly out of breath.
"What's the situation?" Loki asked while summoning a dagger.
"It's Elsa! Something or someone's taken control of her and she's gone!" Anna screamed out with some tears coming down her face.
Hela looked very angry over hearing this and stood up and asked, "What fool would dare to do this?!"
"Hmmm. Possession is what it sounds like. I'll send a telepathic message to brother and Strange to teleport us back and we'll think of a plan. Don't worry, Anna. I think I know who did this," Loki said in disgust while contacting Thor and Strange.
"Brother is indeed, right. Whoever did this will have my blade across their neck," Hela said angrily as she, Loki, and Anna were then being telepored back to the Sanctum Sanctorum.
"Welcome back! And don't worry, friend. Wizard is already looking through his books. Come up stairs," Thor told them as they all walked upstairs to where Stephen and his apprentice were hard at work flipping through the ancient books from Kamar-Taj.
"Wanda, any luck yet?" Stephen asked to Wanda as she was looking for any mention of possible suspects who could have taken control of Elsa.
"Not yet," Wanda said as she was opening another book. Since Thanos and Mephisto were gone and Apocalypse was taken off world, Stephen had been freed up from several worldly threats and with the suggestion from Wong, he saw it was time to teach someone else what he had learned. Wanda herself had been believed to have gained her power thanks to Hydra's experiments, but upon coming here, Stephen deduced she was actually born with these powers and the experiments only awoke them.
With this revolution, Wanda adopted a new name called Scarlet Witch and now wore a red hand band and red cape to match her red jacket.
"By the way, this is one of my friends I was telling you I about I met last month," Stephen said to Wanda as he was busy looking through some more books.
"Hi, my name is Anna. Thank you for helping us with finding and saving my sister," Anna said shaken while introducing herself to Wanda.
"It's no problem. My name is Wanda Maximoff, but I've been going by Scarlet Witch ever since I came here to learn under Dr. Strange," Wanda said while getting back to looking through the books.
"Whoever did this, will suffer," Thor said angrily.
"For once, we are in agreement, brother," Hela said with a glare.
"Well, you two should save your rage until we find the culprit, don't you think?" Loki asked while looking through the books as well.
"Dr. Strange! I think I found something!" Wanda exclaimed to her teacher as everyone came over to her.
"Wow! Good work Wan..I mean Scarlet Witch," Stephen said while looking at the page Wanda found pertaining to the Astral Plane.
"What does it say, wizard?" Thor asked while Stephen read through the pages.
"It talks about the Astral Plane and its inhabitants. Primarily with one known as Amahl Farouk or better known as Shadow King," Stephen explained to them.
"Did he take my sister?" Anna asked while clenching her fists.
"Most definitely. It looks like he was beaten decades ago when he controlled the criminal underground in Cairo, Egypt by a telepath named Charles Xavier. His defeat there caused him to become trapped on the Astral Plane with his old host body defeated in the real world," Stephen told them all who were basking this in.
"So he went after our friend because he desires a new host body?" Thor asked in rage.
"It would appear so," Stephen said while looking over the rest of the page.
"But why would he there and not Midgard to find one?" Loki asked confused.
"Brother raises a very valid point. Someone else is pulling dear little Shadow King's strings," Hela said with a glare.
"Whoever is behind it, we'll have to take care of them later. We need to move fast and get into the Astral Plane and stop Shadow King and free Elsa," Stephen said while putting the book down and walking down with everyone. "Are you ready for you first mission, Scarlet Witch?" Stephen asked to Wanda who nodded eagerly.
"Absolutely. And fear not, Anna. Your sister will be freed from this monster's control," Wanda told Anna who nodded in thankfulness as she and everyone got into a circle around the orb and were teleported by Wong to the Astral Plane.
"Good luck, everyone," Wong told them while nodding his head and then opened up a portal to some of Shadow's King sworn enemies to get their help in defeating him.
"This place is odd," Wanda said while looking out across the Astral Plane with her team as they arrived to this dark and shadowy place.
"It may be, but we have a mission," Stephen told her as he turned to the rest of the group.
"Let's hurry! My sister's life is at stake!" Anna screamed out while holding up a sword. Hela gave her one of her swords to help fight the beings in this place.
"This one is correct. I don't like waiting," Hela said while summoning two swords.
"Oh this will be fun," Loki said with a sigh while taking out his dagger.
"Indeed, brother! There comes some opposition now!" Thor shouted out as he threw Stormbreaker at the astral demon looking like creatures coming towards them.
As the team fought their way through every corner, they came across a giant door that could not be opened.
"I bet there's a way to open this. Let's go look around," Stephen said as he led them to place where he thought they could unlock the door while fighting more astral monsters.
"There, let's that one lever pulled. Let's look for some more," Loki told them while they proceeded to leave the area before coming across an enemy that brought them all together in the first place that should be very much dead.
"Greetings, fools!" Dark Mephisto mockingly told them.
"YOU!" Thor screamed in rage while Anna glared at him.
"That's not Mephsito. It's just an astral projection left behind by Shadow King," Loki told them while noticing unlike the recently deceased one that was all red, this was one more gray.
The team fought this astral projection of the hated shapeshifter, and Thor destroyed it the same way he did the real one.
"Straight to the head!" Thor exclaimed while chopping the head off of this astral projection of the red bastard while Loki rolled his eyes.
"UGH! That should have been mine!" Hela shouted out in annoyance.
"Don't worry about it. You don't have anything to prove," Anna told her with a smile which made Hela stop, shocking everyone else including Hela herself.
"Well, let's just keep moving, shall we?" Stephen asked to them as they kept moving and fought through more astral creatures to the next lever.
"Done. Let's go," Wanda said as she pulled the lever and then with the team came across another astral illusion of a hated enemy.
"Only the strong shall survive!" Dark Apocalypse exclaimed to them.
"The fool returns!" Hela exclaimed with murderous glee.
"Just another astral illusion Shadow King left for us, sister," Loki said to the disappointed Hela. Unlike the real one that was being punished by the Celestials that was pale and wore a mostly blue suit, this one was gray as well.
The team fought this astral illusion and Hela bested it by stabbing it several times.
"Ah, just what I needed!" Hela exclaimed happily.
"Um, great. Let's keep moving," Stephen told them as they fought their way to the last lever and pulled it.
"That's the last one! Now let's go! Hopefully we won't run to anybody else," Anna told them before they came across the last trap left behind by Shadow King. This one REALLY made her friends angry.
"Run from it! Dread it! Destiny still arrives all the same!" Dark Thanos exclaimed to them much to their boiling angry. Unlike the purple one that died a couple months of ago by Tony's hand, this one was gray like the other villains they've come across here.
"Don't let this one get to you guys! It's just a trap left behind by that jerk!" Anna told them as she charged at the illusion while it started to battle them. Anna stabbed it in the heart and then it faded away like the others. "Who was that guy?" Anna asked as they were walking towards the now opened door.
"Just another bastard, friend," Thor told her while they entered through the door to another part of the Astral Plane that looked like a coliseum.
"You cutthroats have come far enough!" Shadow Kind exclaimed in anger through Elsa on top of the coliseum.
"Why don't you release the entertainment?" Enchantress asked the possessed Elsa while Thor and Loki almost thought they recognized her.
"Of course! Unleash my champions!" Shadow King ordered out as astral projections of the Avengers and another team no one recognized fought them.
The team fought the Dark Avengers and the other team by destroying each and every one of them.
"How dare you Avengers interfere with my plans! You'll never get the snow witch back! Never!" Shadow King screamed out in frustration to them.
"I'm not happy, Shadow King. Destroy them. Use the host body's power to finish them off," Enchantress ordered out to the fearful Shadow King.
The possessed Elsa jumped down and unleashed a giant ice shock wave to keep them back and then cornered Anna.
"You! You are this thing's precious sister! How ironic to die by her hand, isn't it?" Shadow King mockingly asked to Anna.
"Elsa, I know you're in there! This isn't who you are! This jerk has taken control of you!" Anna pleaded out to her possessed sister.
"Bhahahahahahaha! Your petty" love" for my host body will not save you, foolish girl," Shadow King smirked while preparing to strike Anna's heart with an ice blast.
Anna started to tear up and said, "I love you!"
While Shadow King started to laugh at this, Anna's words where all it took for Elsa's to finally break free of Shadow King's control forcing him out of her body.
"Anna!" Elsa screamed out in fear at her sister on the ground and quickly helped her up and hugged her. "I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Elsa asked upset while Anna just hugged her back. "I'm fine. You don't have anything to apologize for. That's who is responsible for this," Anna said with a glare while pointing at the panicking Shadow King.
"Time to finish this with our magic," Stephen said as he, Loki, and Wanda used their power to teleport themselves and Shadow King to over the top of coliseum to engage him in a duel.
"All of your powers combined are still childlike compared to that of Shadow King!" Shadow King boasted as he summoned a sword and shield and engaged the three masters of magic in combat.
Stephen, Loki, and Wanda used their power to engage and fight Shadow King in duel. Shadow King summoned several astral creatures to back him up, but all three of them made short work of them. Shadow King tried hitting them with his sword, but they conjured up their own weapons and destroyed his shield and sword.
Shadow King then tried slashing them with his claws and then breathed acid on them, but they kept knocking him back. Despite them all gaining the upper hand, Shadow King still had the advantage of being attuned the Astral Plane. That is, until Shadow King heard the voice that haunted him.
"That's quite enough, Shadow King," said the voice of Charles Xavier appearing with three of his fellow telepaths from his team, the X-Men.
"NO!" Shadow King screamed and whimpered in fear at his hated enemy as he approached him.
"What should we do with him, Professor?" Jean Grey asked while helping to hold Shadow King in place.
"Isn't it obvious?" Emma Frost asked with a smirk while using her power to hold Shadow King down.
"I agree. We need to make this quick and lethal," Psylocke said while summoning a purple blade while doing her part to keep Shadow King in place.
"They bring very valid points, Shadow King. For too long I have tolerated your machinations, but you have gone too far and must be dealt with," Xavier said while introducing himself and his team to Stephen, Loki, and Wanda "It's a pleasure to meet you, Avengers. I'm Charles Xavier and this is Jean Grey, Emma Frost, and Psylocke. We're mutants and part of a team known as the X-Men," Xavier explained to them.
"Ah, you mortals impress me every day!" Loki exclaimed sarcastically.
"Right, it's nice to meet you too. I'm Dr. Strange. This is Loki, and this is Scarlet Witch," Stephen said to them.
"Did you say you're mutants?" Wanda asked curiously.
"Yes, I sense you are too. And the woman you came to save as well," Xavier said to her while sensing this young woman had a deep connection to his best friend and worst enemy she was unware of.
"That would be explain a lot, but what are we going to do about Shadow King?" Wanda asked while using her magic to lift him up followed by Stephen doing the same to hold him in place.
"Oh, I'll tell you what we're going to do," Loki said while holding up his dagger and walking over to Shadow King. "I suggest you rethink and repent from you have done. Learn to use your powers like me and so many others standing here for good," Loki offered to him while Shadow King just laughed at this proposal.
"Shadow King is NO ONE'S PUPPET!" Shadow King screamed while Loki just sighed.
"Very well then," Loki said as he slashed Shadow King's neck and stabbed him in the heart, which caused Shadow King to disintegrate.
"Well, normally I would have liked to have found a better way than that, but I will say good job, Loki," Stephen said as he and Wanda put down their hands.
"Indeed. Thank you for doing what I could not do," Xavier told them before starting to walk away with his team.
"Will see you again?" Wanda asked as they were leaving.
"Perhaps. And perhaps we've been in the shadows too long," Xavier said while saying goodbye to them.
"Time to get back down there," Stephen said as he, Loki, and Wanda used their magic to get back down to the coliseum.
As the fight against Shadow King was wrapping up, Enchantress had summoned several astral creatures to fight Thor, Hela, Elsa, and Anna and they all just destroyed the last one.
"It's over, whoever you are!" Thor shouted out while he and Elsa cornered Enchantress one side and Hela and Anna corned her on the other side.
"Oh my dear Thor, this is just the beginning," Enchantress said as she teleported away before any of them could get their hits in.
"I was this close to killing her!" Hela screamed in annoyance.
"You helped free from that jerk's control. You have already done much good here for me today," Elsa said to Hela which made her calm down.
"It's true, Hela. You are a great friend," Anna said to Hela which again shocked her.
"Yes, good job, sister," Thor said with a small smile and hoped she didn't attack him.
"Well, next time then! And look! They're back!" Hela exclaimed as Stephen, Loki, and Wanda appeared in front of them.
"Shadow King is dead. I did the deed this time, so we're all tied now brother and sister," Loki said sarcastically.
"Thank you," Anna and Elsa said with a smile while holding each other's hand.
"Can we go home now?" Wanda asked very tired from the whole experience and wanted to think about her heritage some more.
"Oh, right! I think we've all had enough of the Astral Plane for a long time. Now, Wong," Stephen ordered to Wong as he brought them all back to the Sanctum Sanctorum.
"Well, that was certainly an adventure!" Thor exclaimed with glee.
"Indeed. I supposed me and sister had better get back to our friend's dimension now," Loki said while walking over to the orb.
"Oh yes. I want to resume my meditation," Hela said while walking over to the orb.
"Thank you again, guys!" Anna exclaimed in gratitude while walking over to the orb with Elsa.
"Yes, thank you all so much," Elsa said with a smile as she prepared to go back home.
"We'll see you in a few days, but most likely there will be some other idiot that tries something before that," Stephen said as he waved them goodbye and noticed Wanda looked lost in thought.
"Are you okay, Scarlet Witch?" Stephen asked concerned.
"Yes, I am, Dr. Strange. Thank you," Wanda said with a smile.
"You know, I think a celebration is in order! Especially for you!" Thor exclaimed while giving Wanda his approval.
"Well, there's a nice deli nearby. And I know none of you have any money," Stephen said while looking at Wong who put his hands up. "So my treat," Stephen said while leading them out the door to the deli.
While they were walking to the deli, across from Sanctum Sanctorum stood an old man dressed in a black jacket and black fedora who slowly grinned and then flew away.
Hope everyone liked that! Lots of cameos by X-Men characters. Especially the mystique man at the end who will be showing up in the next chapter. Haha.
Until next time!
