"Two assassins in the employ of the Black Fang move in. They've been set loose in the palace to murder the crown prince, Zephiel. Eliwood hurries to prevent them from fulfilling their contract." David said.

"Looks like we've made it. And it's the dead of night. If they were going to attempt to kill the prince, it would be during this time." Kabuki said.

"Sounds like it may have already started. I can hear fighting inside." Jiro said.

"We need to get inside...now!" Eliwood said.

"It's very dark here, so we'll need to tread carefully. Tokoyami, are you going to be okay here?" David asked.

"I'll be fine. I've been handling getting better control of Dark Shadow in darkness." Tokoyami said.

"In any case, because of how dark it is, we're going to need someone with night vision of some sorts to guide us through." David said.

"Leave it to me. I've gotten used to using the cover of night to my advantage." Cheetah said.

"I'm willing to help with that as well." Kabuki said. "My senses are of great use in areas without sight."

"Shh...we're getting close." Jiro said. "It sounds like they're…" she said before they moved out of the way as the doors burst open as two assassins, a man and a woman, went at one another in a full fury.

"Now this...was not something I expected." Legault said.

"Who are they?" Jexi asked.

"Jaffar and Ursula. Two of the Four Fangs. But...I never expected them to fight against each other like this. Is this in insurrection?" Legault pondered.

"Hmm...I think we should side with Jaffar on this fight." Kabuki said. "Call it an instinct."

"Jaffar? After what happened on the island?" Mayumi asked.

"Jaffar is definitely someone who has taken friends from us, but...he is definitely fighting for someone now." Jesse said.

"Well, okay… If you guys say so." David said.

The group then joined the battle as they engaged the enemy troops. Jaffar spotted them as he looked at the others.

"...Why are you here? This is not your concern." Jaffar stated.

"I can see it plainly. That mage inside. The young girl...you're fighting to protect her, aren't you?" Cheetah said.

"Tch!" Jaffar said having heard that.

"No need to explain yourself. We'll be your allies for tonight." Cheetah said.

"How sweet. It's sickening. Go and kill them and that traitor." Ursula said as assassins went right at them.

"And consider your claims supported, David." Hope said combating one of the assassins. "Show one bit of dissent, Nergal turns his back on his own men."

"I know, right? Disgusting." David said.

"This talk is pointless. You are all going to die here." Ursula said before her sword was countered by Jaffar. "I cannot understand you. You serve perfection in the form of our masters. Yet you abandon such happiness?"

"…I ensure that Nino lives. That's all." Jaffar said, continuing to counter her with each strike.

"Looks like there's more to Jaffar than we thought." Zephyr said before being kicked to the ground.

"Such annoying little pests." Ursula said. "Think you win just cause I'm being countered!" she said. "Let's see if we can add some casualties on your…" she said before being plunged through by Jaffar. "...Uww...gaa... ...This can't...Lady...Son...ia…" she gasped before falling dead on the ground.

"She talks way too much." David said.

"Hmm...seems they are all gone now." Jaffar said.

"Looks that way." Ichiro said. "So then, Jaffar. You've always been close to the Black Fang. Was this Nino you were protecting worth more than…" he said before the sword was held close to him.

"I would advise against talking like that to me. I am one who was responsible for taking some people you knew." Jaffar said.

"You monster! I'll…" Hector said.

"Calm yourself!" Eliwood said. "Jaffar... You were planning on throwing your life away, correct? If you've come to regret so many of your past actions, then fight with us."

"Regret? Such emotions mean nothing." Jaffar said.

"Jaffar…" the young mage known as Nino said.

"...If you want me to...I will...do it." Jaffar said.

"Well, welcome aboard...I guess." David said.

"We should probably get going. We've spent enough time here as is." Kabuki said. "Though, this wasn't a total waste." she said holding a book.

"What is that?" Jexi asked.

"A book from the royal archives. A way that can guide us to the shrine." Kabuki said. "The queen was generous enough to reward us after I went to check on the prince."

"So...that's pretty much a map. Not bad." Titanica said.

"Now then...its time to get going." Lyndis said as they departed.
