Chapter 14: Bloodsport Fairytale
Hey to all of you! Welcome to Chapter 14 of Roanapur: A Riot Policeman's Story! Just to let you know, this story will most likely be around 30 chapters long, so next chapter will probably be the halfway point. I can't wait to get into the second half of this story very soon, but first thing's first, have to finish the first half strong. Enjoy this chapter and please leave a review!

After the members of Lagoon Company had finished listening to Rock's conversation with Balalaika they all put bullets into their guns until each firearm was completely filled, Dutch, Revy and Holland being ready for anything. Just as Holland lowered his helmet's visor with Revy and Dutch holstering their guns a knock was heard coming from the front door. Everyone looked over that way and nodded at each other, knowing that the vampires plaguing Roanapur may have found them.
"I'll have a look."
Holland decided to take one for the team and crept silently towards the door, his automatic pistol trained squarely at the center of the front entrance to the Lagoon Company's headquarters. The riot policeman held onto his weapon as he looked through the peephole, surprised to find Chang and his two bodyguards standing outside. Holland looked back at Dutch in order to let him know who it was that had arrived.
"It's Chang. Dutch, should I let him inside?"
"Go ahead. He might have a way to beat those vampires. We'll take anything we can get."
Holland nodded and, after holstering his automatic weapon the riot policeman opened the door, coming face-to-face with Chang and his guards, who had their hands resting on guns in their pockets, ready to draw at Chang's order. However, the Triad leader put his right hand up to let his men know to stand down, with each bodyguard falling in behind Chang. The former Hong Kong policeman dropped his cigarette onto the ground and crushed it with his foot, regarding Holland with a nod.
"Mark Holland. Don't know if I can say that it's a pleasure to see you again. Although, you did save my life once before, so I do owe you one, for whatever that might be worth to you. Can I come in?"
"Yes. I'm not sure if you owing me a favor is a good thing or not, but we'll have to worry about that later. Come on in."
Holland stood aside and watched as Chang entered the Lagoon Company's home, with the Triad leader's guards following suit, the both of them giving Holland glares as they passed him, the riot policeman staring them down in return. Holland closed the door while Chang took a seat across from Dutch, the two men regarding one another as their teammates sat down as well. Holland lifted his visor and listened in as Chang and Dutch began speaking.
"Mr. Chang. I take it you're here because of the recent murders taking place in Roanapur, am I right?"
"You got it, Dutch my man. I would have stayed out of this whole thing, but a few days ago one of my men was found axed to death in an alley not too far away from here. It's one thing when they are targeting my people, but once they went after fryface and her men, I knew this was going to be a shitstorm."
"I feel the same way, Mr. Chang. Do you need our help?"
"As a matter of fact, I do. I only need one of you, though. Holland, to be precise."
Everyone turned to the riot policeman in question who had been sitting between Dutch and Revy on the couch, with Holland looking at Chang incredulously.
"Why do you need me for? What's going on here? This better not be some kind of ploy to get me alone, Chang! If that's what it is, I want no part of it!"
The riot policeman said with surprising heat as Dutch put a hand on Holland's shoulder, preventing him from doing anything rash. Chang held up his hands in a defensive position, not wanting to give off the wrong impression.
"You have it all wrong, Holland. In fact, I wouldn't even have come here if not for your girlfriend convincing me to."
"What are you talking about?"
"Well, according to Balalaika she told me earlier tonight that you'd be the best person to have with me when I go after those odd little vampires as soon as I leave here. I hate to admit it, but she's right. There's no way I can pull this off with just me, my two guards here and my other men. Your skills would definitely help me, Holland. It's up to you, though Balalaika told me that you will get triple the reward if we succeed. So what do you say?"
Holland's manhood hardened considerably at the thought of what Balalaika could mean by his reward being tripled. Could it be three times the amount of money, triple the sex, or both? The riot policeman hoped it was both and, knowing that amount of money would assist him greatly and the thought of extra sex with Balalaika was too tempting for his young body to pass up, so Holland made his decision.
"All right, Chang. I'll accept this and go along with you on your mission. However, if I see anything that I deem even a bit suspicious by you or your guards, you'll be on your own. Are we clear?"
"Sounds good to me, Holland. With those bloodsuckers about to be fighting us soon, I can't do anything to you even if I wanted to."
Chang held out his right hand to Holland, who hesitated for a moment before giving it a firm shake. Chang got up to leave with his guards once again falling in behind him, and Holland checked to make sure everything was secured to his person before he started to follow the Hong Kong Triad leader and his lackeys to their vehicle. However, as Holland was about to depart Revy suddenly blocked the way in front of him, folding her arms under her large breasts that were contained under the dark tank top she wore. By putting her arms in that position Revy pushed her considerable assets up and forward, almost right in Holland's face and he blushed with his erection getting harder as she eyed him up and down. The brown-haired woman leaned in to whisper into the riot policeman's ear.
"There's something I want to ask you about if you make it back. Just something I want to know, okay?"
"Sure thing, Revy. No problem."
The gunslinger nodded at Holland and stepped aside, allowing the riot policeman to pass. Holland went outside and looked around to make sure those vampires were nowhere to be found. After seeing no one within the vicinity the riot policeman got into the backseat next to Chang, with one of his bodyguards shutting the door right after Holland sat down. Chang's vehicle then sped off down the street, heading for the suspected location of where the vampires were supposed to strike next.

As Chang's personal vehicle neared its destination the leader of the Triad looked over at Mark Holland, who had been keeping his eyes peeled for any sign of the vampires lurking down alleys and streets they passed by. The riot policeman felt the Hong Kong native's eyes on him and turned around to face him.
"What do you want, Chang?"
"I just was curious about something. Where did you come from, Holland?"
"Why should I tell you anything?"
"Well, it's not like you have to or anything. I just like to get some background info on the people who I have to cooperate with. But if you don't want to provide me with details, I have other ways of finding out."
Holland looked at Chang darkly for a moment before he responded.
"I don't want someone like you digging into my past, so I'll give you bits and pieces though not everything."
"Sounds good to me."
"I was born in Seattle, Washington in 1973. My father was a riot policeman just like I am now before he was killed in the line of duty when I was very little. My mother raised me by herself until she was gunned down when I was six years old by a man wanting revenge on my dad. I was taken in by my grandmother after that. She watched over me until I turned eighteen when I graduated from high school and enlisted in the police academy. That's all I'm willing to inform you about."
"So, you lost your parents at a very young age as well."
"What do you mean by that, Chang? Are you telling me that your parents died when you were little just like me?"
"You hit the nail right on the head there, Holland. My father was a policeman in Hong Kong until he was shot to death by the mob. I was a little bit older than you when my old man died, and because of that my mother was so grief-stricken that I believe she died from a broken heart. To be honest, I wish there was something that I could have done to keep them both alive. Their deaths were the reason why I decided to become a cop. Although, that never worked out very well for me, either."
Holland was stunned at Chang's words, the riot policeman almost unable to believe that the man he distrusted the most in Roanapur had a past that was eerily similar to his own.
"I had no idea, Chang. I'm sorry about your loss."
The leader of the Triad lit up a cigarette while reclining back in his leather seat.
"Yeah, well, I try my best not to keep thinking about that part of my life, but it does reach the surface every now and then."
"The same thing happens to me, though I think about my parents more often than you do. Thank you for sharing that with me, Chang."
"Let's just say that we're even now, all right?"
"I don't know if I can ever say that, Chang, but I do understand where you're coming from. That's the best I can do right now."
"Well, I'll take what I can get."
"Mr. Chang sir, we've arrived at your destination."
The vehicle came to a halt outside the building where the vampires were supposed to be in. Holland noticed several more unmarked black cars arriving both in front and to the side, the riot policeman watching as more of Chang's men began to fan out and surround the building. The Hong Kong Triad leader got out and looked up at the second-floor window, with Holland exiting moments later. Chang heard the unmistakable sound of gunshots and screams coming from the upstairs. He kept looking at the lit-up window as he began speaking to one of his bodyguards and his riot policeman comrade.
"Joe, Holland, if I were you I would duck right now."
As soon as Chang finished his sentence a man came flying through the glass and crash-landed onto the Triad leader's car, with Joe and Holland going low just in time to avoid the deadly shards of glass that rained down around them.
"It looks like this job just turned into a hunt. Get Hotel Moscow on the line. They're going to owe me big time for this one."
The sounds of yelling and gunfire continued as Chang was informed by one of his men that Hotel Moscow had advised them all to retreat, with Chang replying that it was far too late for that.
"Joe, duck."
Chang pulled out two pistols just as the vampire twins emerged from the building, one being a small girl holding an automatic rifle with the other being a young boy grasping an axe. The girl sprayed bullets at Chang, who somehow managed to avoid every shot and gave it right back, the Triad leader's twin pistols making the vampires run even faster. Holland took his chance and fired a burst from his automatic weapon toward the young girl, the riot policeman's bullets just barely missing their intended target by a few inches. Holland then remembered his police training when his superiors always taught him to pull lead on a moving target, so he aimed where the young girl was going to be in a moment and fired another well-timed burst, this one impacting the vampire girl in the back of her right leg, causing her to stumble and nearly fall, though she kept her balance and turned around to face Chang and Holland, the two men both ducking behind Chang's bullet-ridden vehicle.
"You're both good at this!"
Holland and Chang looked at each other in utter disbelief that one of their enemies would compliment them, with Chang responding to the girl's statement.
"Why thank you, young lady!"
"Unfortunately, I don't have any time to deal with either of you today. Maybe some other time!"
"Why does that not put me at ease?"
Chang muttered to himself, and with that, the vampire twins ran off into the night, retreating to fight another day, although the vampire girl's running was slowed because of the wounds she received from Holland. The riot policeman rose up from his crouched position and was about to fire yet another burst when Chang told him to let them go, with Holland not wanting to listen to Chang at first but the riot policeman knew that he would most likely be wasting ammunition if he began shooting again, so he lowered his weapon. Holland re-holstered his automatic pistol and took a breath, grateful that neither of the vampires had set their sights on him when he'd fired upon them. The riot policeman did not know if he would have survived a close-quarters fight with those inhuman monsters, and he was lucky they had decided to retreat.
"You did well, Holland. You even managed to hit that crazy vampire girl and slowed her down considerably. That will help everyone immensely."
Holland was a bit surprised at Chang's praise but he accepted it nonetheless.
"Thanks a bunch, Chang. So, what now?"
"Well, my car's all shot to hell, though I can use another vehicle that my guards brought over. I'll inform Miss Balalaika of how you did. I'm positive that she'll be pleased about your performance. Consider yourself at liberty right now, Holland. Just try not to get shot up."
"I'll see you later, Chang."
The leader of the Triad threw a dismissive wave over his shoulder, then he ordered one of his few remaining men to drive him to Balalaika, who had been sitting at a fountain about a mile away. Holland wanted to be with Balalaika as soon as possible but the riot policeman knew that assisting his teammates came first before pleasure, so he began to run in the direction that the vampire twins had set off for.

Mark Holland ran for about five minutes straight before he slowed down to a stop in order to catch his breath for a moment. The riot policeman was hunched over in exhaustion from the events of the night, but as he began to regain his energy Holland listened close and heard the unmistakable sound of Eda's voice coming from the alley up ahead. The riot policeman's eyes widened as he then heard the vampire girl conversing with Eda, offering her large sums of money in exchange for letting them go. Holland could not let this stand, so he ran up to the alley with his automatic pistol trained in front of him. The riot policeman rounded the corner and took aim at the vampire twins, who still were unaware of his presence. Holland then heard Revy's voice coming from somewhere up above him, the brown-haired woman saying that they could take all of the money offered to them by the vampires plus the bounties on their heads. Before anyone could protest Holland shouted at the vampire children from behind.
"Don't move! Stay where you are, or I'll fire!"
Holland kept his weapon trained on the vampire boy, knowing that the girl was now weaker because of her wounds from the riot policeman. Holland looked at Eda for a moment, who smirked at him while keeping her own pistol aimed straight at the vampire girl. However, Holland watched as the vampire boy threw his axe towards his throat, the riot policeman ducking instinctively to avoid being decapitated. As Holland fired a burst at the young boy he avoided the riot policeman's spray of bullets with surprising agility. Holland attempted to shoot once more but found his gun to be empty of ammunition. The vampire twins heard the unmistakable sound of the riot policeman's gun clicking as Holland squeezed the trigger. The riot policeman attempted to load another clip but as he did so he made the mistake of leaving himself open for a counterattack.
Holland cried out in agony as a knife was driven into his right leg, the same leg where he'd been shot when he was six years old. The riot policeman heard Eda's gun and Revy's Cutlasses firing at the vampires, but the vampire girl's automatic rifle kept them busy while the vampire boy took his other axe and hoisted it high over his head, ready to bring it down on Holland. The riot policeman closed his eyes as he waited for the death blow to come.
Big cliffhanger there, huh? I know the suspense must be eating away at everyone right now, but I wanted to give you all something for waiting so long. Please review and I'll see all of you in Chapter 15, the conclusion of the Vampire Twins Arc.
