3rd Person P.O.V.
Eddie sat at his desk, working on his homework. His eyes darted across the paper, staring down at the complex math problems. He brought the tip of his pencil down, scribbling down some numbers. Eddie furrowed his eyebrows, unsure of the next step. He got up to grab his textbook, and heard the phone ring. Eddie hurried to beat his mother to the phone, assuming it would be one of the losers calling. Luckily for him, his mother was asleep in her chair, the tv illuminating her disapproving features.
"Hello?" Eddie greeted, out of breath. He unzipped his fanny pack, taking a puff from his inhaler. "Who is it?" He heard a sarcastic gasp on the other side of the line.
"Why, Spaghetti, didn't you know it was me?" It was Richie Tozier, Derry's resident trashmouth and Eddie's best friend. The smaller boy rolled his eyes, shaking his head at Richie's antics.
"Shut up asshole. What do you want?" Eddie said, rather sharply.
"No need to get snappy, Eds," Richie chuckled. "Do you wanna come over tonight? My parents aren't home." Eddie glanced over to his sleeping mother, wrinkling his nose in disgust.
"I'll have to ask..."
"Don't worry, I talked to your mom last night. Tell her she gives good head," Richie commented.
"Ew, Richie," he whined. "Don't talk about her like that, it's disgusting."
"Eds, you know I'm called 'Trashmouth' for a reason," Richie paused. "So? Are you coming tonight or what?"
"I told you, I have to ask! I can't just sneak out-"
"You're right, you need an escort! I'll be there at eight! Bye Eds!" Richie sang.
"Richie- wait- I can't-" Eddie sputtered, but it was too late. Richie had already hung up. He glanced at his mother, biting his lip. He debated whether waking her up was worth the risk. He decided it wasn't and headed back upstairs to finish his math homework.
Eddie scribbled down his answer to the last problem on his homework triumphantly. His watched beeped not a moment later, telling him it was 7pm. Normally, he would be just coming home from the barrens, or the quarry, or one of the losers' houses. But today was uneventful, just some homework on a Friday afternoon.
Well, and Richie's offer. More like something he had to go to, because Richie wouldn't take no for an answer. Not that Eddie would've declined, but it would be nice to have the option. With that in mind, Eddie walked down the stairs, poking his head into the living room tentatively.
"Hello, Edward," his mother greeted flatly. "Have you taken your pills today?" Eddie grimaced, but quickly plastered on a fake smile.
"Of course, mommy." Eddie felt like spitting on her. "Is it ok if I go to a sleepover tonight?"
"At who's house, Eddie bear?"
"Well..." He paused. "Bill's house. He wanted to watch a movie."
"Not a scary one, I presume?" She remarked snottily.
"No, mommy. Just a regular movie. May I go?" Eddie questioned. She eyed him suspiciously, frowning disapprovingly.
"There better not be any girls at this sleepover, Edward. And none of that Tozier boy either." She practically spat the name, growling. Eddie nodded quickly.
"Thank you, mommy," he smiled, running back up the stairs. He packed up his toothbrush, some pajamas, fresh clothes for tomorrow, and his fanny pack full of medications and supplies. He checked the time. 8:06. Eddie could faintly hear Richie's bike getting closer to his house, and he dashed to the door before he could knock.
"Bye!" He walked out the door, stopping his mother from seeing Richie there.
"Hiya, Eds! Hop on!" Richie patted the back of his bike seat.
"Uh, Richie?" Eddie cocked an eyebrow. "I have my own bike."
"Don't be silly, Spaghetti Man! What kind of escort would I be if I let you ride separately?" Richie patted the seat again. "Let's go!" Eddie reluctantly got on the back of Richie's bike, settling in. He was pushed up against Richie's back, his arms tightly clasped around the curly-haired boy. Richie pushed off, making Eddie tighten his death grip. Richie's house wasn't far, but for Eddie, it was terrifying.
"You can let go now, we're here," Richie chuckled. Eddie awkwardly removed his arms, blushing. The taller boy didn't notice, instead grabbing Eddie's hand and dragging him inside the tiny house. What he saw was one of the sweetest things he had ever seen.
A small fort was built in the living room, big enough for the two of them to fit comfortably. Fluffy blankets and cozy pillows were haphazardly strewn around the room, and a bowl of pretzels sat on the table. Richie noticed Eddie's gaping mouth, nervously rubbing his neck.
"Uhh... I thought you might like to be in a fort. Yknow, just like old times?" He chuckled, but with a bit of an edge to it, like something was hidden in his tone.
"Richie, I love it." Eddie turned to the taller boy, grinning happily. "Let's go!" Eddie grabbed Richie's hand, tugging at his lanky arm. Richie didn't budge, a light blush dusted over his cheeks.
"Actually, Eddie, I wanted to talk to you about something first." Eddie felt all the blood drain from his face. It had to be serious if the Trashmouth used his actual name. He could barely being himself to stutter out a reply.
"Y-yes, Richie?" Eddie was close to panicking now. What if Richie knew his secret? What if he hated Eddie for it? But then why would he build the fort? These were the questions swirling around Eddie's mind.
"Well I- are you ok? You look like you're about to faint." Richie ushered him to the couch, sitting the smaller boy down gently. He cleared his throat. "What I was going to say is... I maybe, kinda, sorta like... you?" Richie turned away from a shocked Eddie, cursing wildly under his breath. "Eds I didn't really mean-" he was interrupted by a soft pair of lips on his. They broke away, both wide-eyed.
"Wow, Eds, you kiss better than your mom." Eddie groaned, pushing Richie.
"You just ruined the moment, asshole." The Trashmouth shot him a shit-eating grin, trying not to break down laughing.
"That's what I'm here for," he commented, still grinning. Eddie couldn't help but crack a small smile himself, giggling lightly at Richie's antics. "But seriously, that was amazing." The smaller boy blushed, looking away in embarrassment.
"Thanks Rich," he whispered. "It was really nice."
"Oh, was it? Then you wouldn't be opposed if I were to..." Richie leaned near Eddie. The two locked lips, kissing passionately. The simultaneous fireworks burst beautifully in their hearts, confirming their feeling for each other. They broke the kiss, smiling madly.
"Why don't we go cuddle in that fort I made, hmm?"
I would die for them agh
