Two chapters in a day! I forgot to post one yesterday, so you guys get two! Also, sorry if this chapter sucks, like I said, I'm running out of ideas...

Rapunzel was in the back of the carriage reading Varian's letter for the umpteenth time.

Dear Rapunzel, Eugene, and Cassandra,

Please excuse me for running off, but I had no choice. I wrote this letter in advanced knowing something like this was bound to happen.

Wow, he must be a smart kid if he thought his far ahead, thought Rapunzel.

Before you ask why I ran, let me tell you something. Every night since my father saved me from the amber, but got himself imprisoned in it, I've felt nothing but guilt. I tried time and time again to get him free, but nothing would work. My last resort was to capture the Queen, but even that didn't work. When I was imprisoned (though I haven't yet, I'm pretty sure I will be, and that I'll feel this way) I felt as though I failed my father once more.

Awww, he just wants his father back. I know I would too.

At this current moment the Queen is watching me write this letter, and I really don't want to hurt her, but I also really want my father back. You promised you'd help me, Rapunzel, but I guess promises don't mean anything to you. Believe me when I say I never wanted any of this to happen. I've run away because I know no one in my village will want me because of what I've done, but whatever I've done, you deserved. Go ahead and try to look for me, but it won't work. I don't even know where I'm going to go. But, I'm ready as I'll ever be.

-Varian

Ps, if any of you find Ruddiger, take care of him for me. Please.

What did Varian mean? Is Ruddiger not with him? This saddened Rapunzel because she knew the raccoon was Varian's best friend.

"Hey, Raps! I think we might be getting closer to Varian," called Cassandra from outside. Rapunzel looked outside, and, sure enough, there was a cloud of smoke up ahead. That could mean two things, Varian was making camp, or they stumbled upon some random campers. She really hoped it was the former.
