The fact that she could open her eyes was the most disturbing part. The second most was the fact that she was completely nude, with Tessai staring at her body. Yoruichi was too, but at this point she was used to her The only reason she wasn't panicking more really was because Urahara was too busy watching numbers fly across that giant screen again to perv on her curves or whatever. Kana was in a giant tube straight out of a sci-fi movie, suspended in a slightly blue, slightly gelatinous liquid. Yet she could still breathe fine, she could keep her eyes open without needing to blink, and all in all she was excited to get the answers she was wanting but she really could go without doing this again.

"Strange..." Oh, that was disturbing part number three. She could hear absolutely everything with entire clarity. If she concentrated she could even hear the swish of Tessai's apron when he shifted to look at her from a different angle to make sure everything was okay. She was pretty sure she didn't want to know what it would be like if it wasn't the way it was supposed to be. Her eyes followed Yoruichi as she stopped staring at Kana to go stand next to Urahara, leaning down and watching the screen with him as he pointed to various things.

"With these numbers here, and then the chart is...so then the Zanpakuto..." Other than the last sentence despite the fact she could hear clearly she had no idea what he was talking about with all the scientific babble. Her mouth twitched as she debated opening it to ask what was going on but she stopped at the last second, unsure about ingesting whatever it was she found herself suspended in. Finally Urahara clapped his hands together, and Kana frowned at how bright his eyes were.

"This is really rather fascinating. I didn't know this could be done. It would have had to have happened years and years ago." He mumbled to himself as he stood from the giant computer, coming to stand by Tessai.

"Summon your zanpakuto." Kana frowned even harder and shook her head at him. She was in her body? How was she supposed to summon Arashi?

"If I'm right, you'll be able to summon your Zanpakuto even like this." What, was he telepathic now?

Kana shrugged slightly and after a second of hesitating, raised her dominant hand skywards and pulled her reiatsu to her arm as she had when pouring it into her blade back in the Seireitei. She could hear the distant roll of thunder outside as her reiatsu sparked and she felt something 'click' within her chest.

"Kogeki, Arashi no Kami!" Another roll of thunder, louder than before, sounded overhead as she cried for her Zanpakuto, and she felt more than saw a wave of lightning spark over her skin before she brought her arm down to her side, watching as Arashi's released form snapped into being beside her. Tessai gave a shout of alarm and that was all the warning she got before the glass around her shattered and the liquid gushed out, pulling Kana with it. She managed to land kneeling in front of the two retired Shinigami, blinking hard at the now strange feeling of air touching her.

"Fascinating!" Urahara cried, and Tessai dropped a blue shield he had summoned as his boss sprinted back to the giant monitor as it flashed red with errors, more numbers soaring across the screen.

"I'm still in my body right? Then why...?" Kana trailed off as she looked at Arashi in her hand, squeezing the hilt to confirm to herself it was really there.

'I am not limited. I am not like other Zanpakuto. I am beyond them now.'

Arashi's voice rumbled in her head for a moment before fading away, and Kana hummed for a second before standing and snapping the whip to the side with a tug on her reiatsu, watching as it disintegrated into thin air, handle and all.

"Unrelease it too? Then would the Bankai...?" Urahara trailed off to himself as he started typing furiously.

"Tessai, get her a warm bath. I'll be a while."

"Wait a minute-what was all that!? How am I able to summon Arashi while in my body?"

"I'll be able to tell you all that and much much more if you give me the time. Now please," Urahara turned in his chair to face her and smiled softly.

"Go relax. From the looks of it, you won't need to talk to your mother at all."

Kana shook her head as Tessai draped an oversized towel over her body and ushered her out of the lab, the sound of the keyboard and error sirens stopping as the door closed behind them.

"Kisuke will figure it out." Tessai reassured her, probably assuming her desire to know all stemmed from worry. Kana smiled as she let him keep that misconception, heading up the stairs.

"Thanks, Tessai. I'll be in my room."

"Yes, Takahashi-san. I'll retrieve you once dinner is ready." Kana waved her hand behind her at him as she continued up the stairs and towards 'her' room.

Kana had planned on having a nap after her bath, but in the end she was too anxious to sleep. She came back downstairs shortly after in the same outfit as before, hair still slightly damp as she pulled the leather jacket on.

"Tessai, I'm gonna run out, do you need me to bring back anything?" She called as she started lacing up her boots.

"Oh, if you don't mind, we could use some more eggs for tomorrow morning." He called back from the kitchen after a second of hesitant silence.

"Ah, I don't mind at all. I'll be off then!"

"Wait!" Kana blinked as Tessai rounded the corner, a familiar black cat hanging from his hands with wide eyes and a fish hanging from its mouth. She took Yoruichi in her arms as Tessai shoved her at her chest.

"Take this so you don't get lost." Ouch. But fair.

"Fine. I'll be back soon." She maneuvered Yoruichi to her shoulder as she finished eating and left the Shoten, turning down the road to the left as Yoruichi directed.

"How long do you think Urahara is gonna take with all that shit?" She asked after a few silent moments of walking.

"Hmm...It all depends, but he was pretty excited. When he gets excited he tends to be fairly speedy with stuff like this. That and he'll try to get it done faster so you don't destroy his hat next." Yoruichi purred in amusement while Kana cackled, sliding her hands into her pockets.

"So this Godai thing. It makes sense it comes from my mom or whatever, but my Shinigami powers. Where do you think those came from?"

"It could be from either side to be honest. I've only heard of the Godai once or twice before and even then it was just speculation at their existence. There's not much information so it's safe to say the Godai kept to themselves."

"Hmm. I probably would too."

Silence fell again until the reached the store, a familiar figure stepping out of the convenience with a small bag hanging from his hand, the other waving her way as they were spotted.

"Oh, Kurosaki. What's up?"

"Just picking up juice for Yuzu. Did you find out what you wanted last night?" Ichigo followed her back into the store as she went to purchase the eggs and a drink, not bothering to smile at the deadpanned cashier when she left.

"Kinda. Turns out I'm something called a Godai from my mother's side, and my electric power shit is linked to that but not the way it should be." Kana cracked open her coke with a shrug, praising the gods for the sweet nectar. Coke was the one thing she probably enjoyed most about the world of the living room. She would probably have enjoyed her stay at the Seireitei more if they had shit to drink other than tea.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Fuck knows. All I know is even though I kinda know what my powers are or where they come from or whatever, I still don't know enough. Oh, and I can summon my Zanpakuto even though I'm still in my human body so that's a thing."

Ichigo's eyes went wide and Kana chuckled.

"No, I don't know why. Urahara is in his lab right now trying to figure it out."

"And what about your Shinigami powers?"

Kana shrugged and took another long pull from her drink, belching loudly and laughing at Ichigo's disgusted face.

"Dunno. Urahara said a while ago that I must be related to some Shinigami." She grinned jokingly and elbowed him in his side.

"So if ya see anyone like me let me know. I'd love to meet them. Love to fight them too. See if I can beat their ass." Kana said with a cackle, though her laugh died off slowly as Ichigo paled and stared at her with wide eyes.

"Fuck's that look for?"

"...I hope I'm wrong." Ichigo said, shaking his head hard at her.

"Who are you thinking of?" Yoruichi asked, and Kana blinked between the two as Yoruichi moved to sit on Ichigo's shoulder, both of them staring at Kana as she scowled at them.

"Fuck are you looking at? If you don't wipe that dumb look off your face I'm gonna wipe it off for you." She growled, scowl deepening as Yoruichi gasped.

"Oh! The fighting, the facial expressions, the beady little eyes, the bad sense of direction!" Yoruichi leapt back over to Kana's shoulder.

"Come on, let's get back to the Shoten, I wanna see if Kisuke can prove Kurosaki right."

"I hope he doesn't." Ichigo mumbled behind her, and Kana sent him a glare before jogging away towards the Shoten.
