Piccolo leaned against a tree massaging the temples of his head. This was probably the worst headache he'd ever had.

"Mr. Piccolo, are you alright?"

Gohan took a pause from his punching drills and walked towards his master.

"Yeah kid, I'm fine. Just keep doing your drills." He kept his eyes closed.

"What did you and Kate do last night?"

As much as Piccolo wanted to ignore the question- he couldn't. Besides- who else would he tell?

"We just went out for dinner."

Gohan looked at him surprised.

"So you went on a date?"

Piccolo finally opened his eyes.

"What?"

"When a guy and a girl go eat- it's a date."

Piccolo blushed. "No. She just wanted to say thank you. It's not like that."

"Well, you like her don't you?"

"Gohan..."

Gohan's face didn't change.

"Does she like you too?"

"Gohan..."

The boy was getting frustrated.

"You should just tell her that you-"

Piccolo quickly smacked Gohan into a nearby mountain as soon as Kate appeared.

"Woah. Your hangover is that bad eh?"

She handed him some Advil and Gatorade.

"This should help with that."

He took the items slowly and nodded.

"Thanks."

Gohan came running back excitedly.

"Hi Kate!"

She hugged him tightly.

Piccolo shot him a glare to not say anything. Gohan nodded.

"Hey kiddo! I put your stuff in your room if you wanna go check it out?"

He ran excitedly once again.

Piccolo drank the Gatorade and took the Advil. Sighing out of relief.

"Feeling better?"

He nodded his head.

"I don't think I'll ever drink again."

Kate laughed. "Yeah...that's usually how these things go.."

They stood in an awkward silence.

Gohan came out with a remote control car.

"Kate! This is so awesome! Thank you!"

She laughed.

"Gohan!" Chi-chi called from the house. "Hi Kate! Welcome back!"

"Hi Chi-chi! I left you something in the kitchen!"

"Thank you so much! Gohan, five minutes before you have to go back to studying! I just booked another test for you on Tuesday!"

Kate pondered. In fairness- 2 days of studying for a test wasn't too bad.

"But mom! I promised Kate I'd show her around on Tuesday!"

He held a hand out towards the land.

"I know honey, but this test is to see which college you might qualify for in the future." She sighed. "Sorry Kate."

Kate smiled, trying to keep her disappointment from showing.

Poor kid. Well, I guess 12 years does fly by...

"But mom!"

Chi-chi was starting to grow frustrated.

"Gohan, I'm only going to say it one more time."

Kate interjected in an attempt to prevent things from getting worse.

"Oh don't worry Gohan! I'm sure Mr. Piccolo wouldn't mind showing me around?"

Piccolo shot up and blushed.

Gohan held back a smirk. "Mr. Piccolo, it would really mean a lot."

The green warrior grunted- aware of what the boy was trying to do.

"Fine."

Gohan cheered, and hugged Kate before he left. He gave Piccolo a wink, and got a scowl in return.

The boy walked towards his house, Chi-chi handing him more books inside.

Kate and Piccolo stood in an awkward silence once again.

She cleared her throat.

"So...I just said that to save Gohan, you don't have to show me around. Thanks though."

He looked around awkwardly.

"There's a spot Gohan isn't familiar with. I can take you there.."

"Um...sure. If that's okay with you?"

He grunted.

"I wouldn't have offered."

She looked down a bit embarrassed before glancing around the valley.

"So...what time on Tuesday?"

"It doesn't matter to me."

Kate looked at her phone.

"How about around this time? 10?"

"Fine."

Kate smiled.

"Well then- it's a date! See you on Tuesday!" She waved and began to walk back towards the house.

A date?

Piccolo stood there baffled before taking off.
