" So what story are you going to read us Starlight?" Applebloom asked.

The tired fillies were snuggled up in Starlight's bed, ready to hear a story.

" It's a great one. One of my favorites when I was your age." Starlight said, tucking them in.

" Is it Daring Do?" Scootaloo guessed.

" Nope."

Starlight pulled out a slightly, worn out book.

" It's the story about a lonely pony named Mystic Star, who travels through Equestria at night in search of friends, fighting enemies, and discovering her true purpose and hidden past."

" I like it already!" Sweetie Belle exclaimed, she and her friends excitedly waiting for her to read.

Starlight grinned and opened the book. After she finished the story, the CMC were fast asleep. She turned on a nightlight, tucked them in once more, and quietly left.

" Great story!"

Starlight jumped. It was Spike.

" Don't do that!"

" Sorry." Spike apologized.

Starlight checked on the fillies. Still asleep. She led Spike away from the door.

" Let's go check the map."

" Where did you get that book from? I've never heard of it." Spike asked her curiously.

" Really? Well, my father gave it to me after Sunburst left. Mystic Star became like my friend. Plus her stories are intoxicating." Starlight replied.

" Sounds a lot like Twilight. All she ever did was read books as a filly."

Starlight giggled.

" I think, and this is just me theorizing, before you became a dictator, you truly wanted friendship again, but didn't know how. I think you liked Mystic Star so much is because she would never leave you."

Spike's theory both impressed and surprised Starlight.

" I can't say you're wrong. Even though I've changed, both mentally and physically, I still like to keep it close by."

" That's totally okay. Got any other interesting books that you could show me and later, Twilight?"

" I might... but let's save Ponyville first." Starlight said, teasingly as they continued walking.
