To the readers of CVV,

This is an announcement of an unexpected setback and hiatus to the continued progression of Cyber-Violet Volition. Today, a laptop technician from DELL came over to replace the parts on my laptop for the sake of warranty honour on components which were not performing to 100%. Let's just say, things happened. From going to a functioning laptop with very rare key input blackouts/lethargic battery life, DELL's disassembly and reassembly of my writing device has downgraded the machine to not turning on at all; a total failure of the entire hardware.

The question of data loss is currently in the air. Or in the word's of Dell, "Unconfirmed." =_= We'll see if the ominous sparks meant anything. What's going to happen next is that the laptop will be sent to their facility for an E.R operation, blah blah. Basically, there's an arduous process of postals, waiting, more emailing with support staff, threatening to call consumer council and lawyers if the need comes to it. This mess could take at least a month to sort out from the ETAs they've given me.

Because of my foolish assumption of the warranty provider's technical competency, I did not make immediate backups before what should have been a simple and straightforward operation. Chapter 33 was 7k words in and due to update in 3 days. I've also lost 90% progress of secretfanficlover's Shujinkō x Ann novella commission Sugar Rock Derby. I know this is unpleasant news and trust me I'm more annoyed with myself than with Dell for this. Thankfully, the longfics's story notes are backed up in three different places so that's not lost.

I'll have to re-start writing everything from scratch (´_`)Right now this is all being typed out from a spare PC I had lying around (it would make an excellent exhibition in a fossil history museum, mind you). I'm sorry for the delay my brashness has caused. It was starting to look like CVV was going to return to its former schedule of one-two chapter/month update schedule but then this had to happen. I promise to rectify this as soon as possible.

Regards,

Virtual Delirium
