At school during lunch, Hallianna stood staring at the table where Starr Morrison sat with her friends. Starr is the girl that Hallianna had a crush on, but used Dalton as a distraction for her true desires. She took a deep breath before walking over to talk to Starr.
"Um Starr?" Hallianna called
"Hey Hallie, what's up?" Starr asked as she turned around to look at her classmate
Hallianna cleared her throat, "Uh..I know we're not that close, but I was wondering if you wanted to come to my sweet sixteen birthday party. It's next weekend."
Starr smiled, "I'd love to come."
"Okay. I'll see you next weekend." Hallianna replied as she handed Starr a piece of paper, "Here's the address."
Meanwhile with Mollianne, who was talking to her math teacher Mr. Kalter. She had the best grades in the class, so he asked her represent the class at the math Olympics, but she didn't want to.
"I know that I'm good at math, but couldn't you ask the second best in the class." Mollianne said to her teacher as she wished that she was good at history the way she was with math and science.
Mr. Kalter shook his head, "We need the best if we want to win."
Mollianne shrugged, "I guess. Can I think about it?"
Meanwhile Arabella rushed into her mother's office at the end of the school day. She was so excited to tell her the good news.
"Mommy, Mommy, guess what?"
Mariana looked up at her excited daughter, "What, baby?"
"I'm going to the spelling bee!" Arabella yelled
Mariana smiled as she stood up and rushed over to hug her daughter, "That's so great, Ara."
"Will you help me practice, Mommy?"
"Of course, sweetheart." Mariana agreed
Back with Mollianne, who gave a big huff as she got into the backseat of the car with Elizabeth.
"What's the matter, Mollie?" AJ asked
Mollianne grumbled, "I got asked to go to the math olympics."
"And what's wrong with that?"
"Why can't I be good at history, like I am with math and science?" Mollianne wondered as she crossed her arms, "It's not fair. I want to be an archaeologist, and I'm not even good at history, but I love it. In math and science, I don't even try and I get A's on everything. I even tried to fail once, but I still got an A. It's so frustrating."
At Lou and Brandon's house, Gracelynn was being lectured about cheating because she cheated on a test. She was so bored with the lecture her parents' lecture. She knew not to cheat, she just feels inferior compared to Frankie, who is so good at everything without even trying. She just wanted to be good at something for once. She wanted to get an A, because no matter how hard she tried, she could never get an A.
"Mom! Dad! I know that cheating is wrong. I just wanted to make you as proud as you are of Frankie. Just once I wanted to bring home an A."
"Honey, grades don't make you who you are. We're proud of you no matter what you're grades are." Lou explained, "Besides, you may not be good as school, but you're good at lots of things."
Gracelynn scoffed, "Like what?"
"Well you're great at cooking. And you're the only one I know that can read five books in a week." Brandon started.
Gracelynn crossed her arms, "What else?"
"You're a great person. You always see the best in everyone." Brandon added, "Grades may be important for school, but what you are good at is important for life. Do you understand, princess?"
"Yeah. I understand, Dad." Gracelynn replied. She hugged her father, "I love you, Dad." Then she turned at hugged her mother, "And I love you too, Mom."
Lou hugged her daughter back, "We love you too, Gracie. Just keeping being you, and you will always make us proud."
Gracelynn nodded, "I will, Mom. From now on, I will always be true to myself."
