Knock knock knock.
"Come in," Chloe calls without looking away from her computer.
The door opens and David peeks inside. "I'm going to the store," he says. "Do you kids want anything?"
"Some sodas, please," Max says, looking at his friends.
"And lots of snacks," the bluenette says, still looking at the screen. "Please."
"All right," he walks out. "I'll be back."
"He's so different now," Kate says after the door closes. "I still remember that time he threatened me because he thought I was in the Vortex Club."
"He was nice before he married Mom," the girl finally turned toward them. "Even tried to get along with me and everything,
"Later on he became the dick we knew and hated."
"That's whack," Max says.
"That word is so lame, Max," the bluenette says. He smiles, both at the comment and at how, with his best friend gone to San Fran, he's become just 'Max'. It's an odd feeling. "Anyway, check this out," Chloe motions for them to join her. "This shit is super whack."
The three crowd in front of the computer.
"I was looking for all the barns and shit in Arcadia Bay and around," the girl explains the website on the screen. "But so far I don't see anything by the Dickscotts."
"Maybe they have it under another name to avoid taxes and whatever," he suggests. "My family's done that."
"We could try that," she gives him a thumbs up. "Or we could get the info from Nathan."
Max nods. "He's still suspended, the room will be empty."
"I like that you're more open to committing crime," the bluenette grins. "Kate?"
"Goodness, I don't think I could," the blonde shakes her head in alarm. "That'd be wrong."
"You'd think... all right," Chloe bites a sarcastic reply. "Can you at least be our alibi?"
"That I can do," Kate beams. "It will be like a spy movie!"
"Attagirl."
"I think I had too many snacks," Kate gets out of the truck with a slowness that proves her words. "As soon as I reach my room I'm taking a nap.
"At what time are you coming tomorrow?"
"We'll message you," Chloe tells her.
"Okay, then I'll see you tomorrow," the blonde waves at them and starts walking away.
"See you tomorrow, Chloe," Max slides to the door, but the girl takes his arm. "What's up?"
"Can you come with me?" she asks. "I need to talk to you."
