6: "Can I come in?"
"Yeah, sure! We're just messing around in here," I called to Derek.
He stepped inside of my tent/room and glanced around. Justin was working with parts on the floor while Mason and I were sitting in my bed working on more parts. Derek asked curiously, "What is all this?"
"We're building rockets!" Justin beamed.
"Justin cashed in his tickets for rockets at the arcade. We're going to put them together and launch 'em later," I explained.
Derek sat down behind me on the side of the bed. I could feel him observing over my shoulder as Mason handed me parts and I fit them together. Mason picked up the middle piece and peeked inside. He laughed and said, "Check this out! There's a little plastic soldier with a parachute in there!"
"Really?" I leaned in to check.
I felt Derek put his hand on my thigh to brace himself so he could lean in and check as well. It threw me off and I made a really awkward laugh. Mason looked at me strangely and I tried to save face by saying, "I was thinking we should put firecrackers in the middle and blow him up along with the rocket!"
"Oh my God! That would be so fun!" Justin kicked the floor laughing.
Mason laughed as well and added, "We could stuff the middle with stink bombs and shoot it on somebody's roof! They'll come out and be like, 'Who farted up there?'"
Justin was laughing so hard, he couldn't breathe. Derek sat back to watch Justin and started chuckling himself. I turned back to face him and asked, "You have any firecrackers, Derek?"
"Probably in a stash, somewhere. I used to buy all the illegal stuff for 4th of July," Derek mentioned.
"Aw, man, that's awesome! My parents won't even let me get the cheap stuff," Mason replied.
Derek rested his chin on my left shoulder and Mason deliberately looked away. I went back to setting up the rocket and Justin finally finished laughing so he could continue his project as well. I gently bumped Derek off of my shoulder so I could work, and I was pretty sure I heard him growl at me in protest, but I ignored it and asked Mason, "Could you hand me the ignition piece?"
Mason handed it over and asked me, "What time is it?"
"It's about 6," I checked my clock.
"Man, I gotta get home. You mind if I come by tomorrow afternoon? I'll bring video games so we can all play," Mason said.
"Yeah, sounds cool," I smiled.
Mason suddenly leaned in and pressed his lips to mine. I was so stunned, I didn't respond, so he quickly pulled away and told me awkwardly, "Alright, well, see you tomorrow."
I glanced at Justin. He was staring at us like Mason had punched me in the face. Mason was trying so hard to get out quickly that he wasn't watching where he was going, and he stepped right on the ignition piece to the rocket Justin was working on.
"Aw, shit, man! I'm sorry," Mason tried to carefully lift his shoe so the part wouldn't be damaged further.
"My rocket! You stepped on my rocket!" Justin yelled.
"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry," Mason said, while I tried to grab the piece off of his shoe.
Derek grabbed my wrist and pulled my hand away before I could get the piece. I gave him a hard look and he informed me, "Don't touch it with your bare hands! That piece has chemicals with it."
"Oh. Right," I reached for the plastic bag the rockets came in and pulled the piece off.
"What am I gonna do? The piece won't work now!" Justin complained.
"I'm sorry, man, I really am. I'll get you more tickets to buy another rocket," Mason said solemnly.
I stood up and replied, "It's alright, Mason, we've got another one. Hey, I'll walk you outside."
He nodded and we walked out, together. I was surprised that Derek wasn't right there with us, but he probably knew I needed to talk to Mason alone.
"Look, don't worry about the rocket. Justin's just making a big deal because he doesn't have anything else to do," I told Mason once we stopped by his car.
He shrugged but I could tell he was still upset. I leaned in and gave him a sweet kiss, and he lightened up significantly. I pulled away and told him, "I want you to come by tomorrow. Bring video games and we'll play."
Mason frowned and asked frankly, "Do you have a thing going with Derek that I should know about? I mean, I know I asked you about it before, but he was practically feeling you up in the tent."
I decided to confess, "Derek and I have a thing, but it's complicated. He doesn't really mind if I see other people."
"Really? That does sound complicated," Mason replied, then he added, "Derek acts like he doesn't want me around much. You think he's okay that we're friends, or possibly more than that?"
I smiled and said, "I'm the one you should worry about. My decisions about who I want to be friends with or something more with are mine; not his."
Mason sighed and told me, "Alright, but maybe you should remind him of that. He has a pair of eyes that can kill if he stares at you too long."
He shuddered for emphasis and I laughed. Mason got into the car and waved a quick good-bye as he drove off. I turned back towards the house and noticed Nick standing in the front window. He was staring at me with a wicked smile, like he had seen something he could use against me.
I was hoping he hadn't been standing there long enough to see me kiss Mason, but from the look on his face, that was exactly what he was smiling deviously about.
:-:
Justin was so put-off by his rocket, he went into the house and wouldn't come back out. Derek took over Justin's rocket while I finished mine. After I was done, I lay in bed and watched Derek meticulously work on the broken ignition piece. If it was dangerous for a human to touch, it didn't seem to have any effect on him, and it took almost no time for Derek to repair the piece to its original form.
"Wow, that's perfect," I said, admiring his work.
"You want me to bring them to Justin?" Derek asked, cleaning up the packaging mess that was left on the floor.
"No, just leave it for now. He's probably asleep," I mentioned.
Derek tossed the bag of trash by the door and came back over to me. We were both thinking the same thing, but he warned me, "I'm tired. I may not be at full capacity."
I snorted and replied, "Your version of below average is probably nothing like mine."
He rolled his eyes at me and I pulled him by his wrists into bed with me. We made out for the longest time, removing clothing in the process until there was nothing left to take off, then we just kept kissing until my lips went numb.
Derek lifted my hips and brought his knees underneath me so I would stay facing him at an angle. He slipped inside and ran his arms underneath my shoulders, linking his hands together across the back of my head like he was using his upper body as my safety harness.
"You're not planning on ripping me apart, are you?" I asked only half-jokingly.
He looked into my eyes and answered, "I want to be careful, but it seems like so long since I've been able to touch you...I don't want to lose control."
"I can understand that, but you're freaking me out a little bit, here. I feel like I'm being strapped in to go on one of those extremely dangerous roller-coaster rides that only people over 21 can enjoy," I explained.
Derek looked away and said somberly, "Maybe we should do this another time."
"No, you're already inside and it feels good. Just lighten up a bit," I said, taking his hands apart so they weren't clutching my skull.
He started thrusting. It was close to normal at first, but when I started to groan from the pleasure, Derek started thrusting more intensely. He could inspire the best out of me, and the more I responded, the more wild his look became.
I could hear my bed frame creaking as it started to lean forward from the force of Derek's thrusts. I was enjoying him so much, I didn't bother to tell him to slow down, and it only took a few seconds before the frame collapsed.
At the moment we went down, Derek lurched forward and his erection jammed into my prostate. I cried out and Derek froze, asking quickly, "What happened? What did I do?"
I struggled to breathe as I told him, "Nothing bad, you just...shit, I'm so close to cumming, it hurts."
"What do you want me to do?" Derek asked thickly.
"Could you massage me in front while you're in back?" I requested.
He wrapped his hand around my shaft and started stroking it slowly. His grip felt hot and strong. He made a quick and unexpected thrust inside and I moaned so loudly, I was sure someone in the house probably heard me.
"Shit, you woke up Nick," Derek said with an arrogant smile.
"Is he coming outside?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think he might," Derek answered.
I sighed with frustration and argued, "Why does he have to ruin this? I was almost finished!"
Derek quickly covered my mouth with his free hand and started massaging my erection really fast with his other hand. It created so much friction in such a short time that he made a half-hearted thrust in back and it sent me sailing over the edge.
I groaned with release under Derek's palm and caked his stomach with cum. He pulled his hand away from my mouth, brushing my lips with his fingertips before he stole a kiss.
When he pulled away, he got up and started moving like a blur around my room. He grabbed the clothes on the floor and put them away. He set my bed back up on its frame and tightened the screws with his bare hands. He made the room look like it was before we got started, then he came back to me and said, "Act like you're asleep. I'll check in on you, later."
I closed my eyes and did as he said. I felt a breeze against my face as he rushed out of the tent, then I heard someone come in a few seconds later and I knew it was Nick.
I could feel him staring at me. I twitched a little and started snoring lightly so he would believe I were asleep. I heard him walk around the room a little bit, possibly to make sure that nothing was out of place.
"Dude, what are you doing?" I heard his roommate Riley whisper into the tent.
"I thought I heard screaming out here," Nick whispered back gruffly.
Riley sighed and said, "I don't hear anything. It was probably a cat or something."
"It wasn't a cat. I think Stiles pitched this tent so he could have his little fuck buddies stay overnight and Pete won't know about it," Nick seethed in a low tone.
Riley stifled laughter and remarked, "You are losin' it, dude. What's with you and Stiles, lately, anyway, huh? You talk about him like he's doing a bunch of shit behind your back or something."
Nick whispered harshly, "I know he's doing shit behind my back, but that's not the point."
"Then what is it?" Riley asked.
Nick paused like he was making sure I were still asleep, then he answered quietly, "The story around here is that Malia moved out to go live with some relative. I think that's bullshit. If she had a relative somewhere, they would've claimed her a long time ago."
"So, what does that have to do with Stiles?" Riley asked.
Nick pointed out, "Think about it, Riley! She only hung out with Justin and Stiles, and Justin's a doofus, but Stiles is the new guy around here and we know he's had some violence in his past, and suddenly Baby Girl Malia goes missing and Stiles is all buddies with Peter and Derek, living in a customized tent, and making out with the other new guy!"
"What are you trying to say? That Stiles is making friends with dudes and acting all gay and shit 'cause he did something to Malia and he's hoping nobody will suspect him?" Riley surmised with a scoff.
"I dunno. What he's doing just isn't right, and I want to know why," Nick stated.
"You do that, then. I'm going back to bed," Riley walked off.
Nick stayed behind for another minute to watch me. Whether he thought I were asleep or not, his point came through loud and clear. I wasn't exactly worried about what he would find because I hadn't done anything to Malia, but I had the sneaking suspicion that Nick was not going to let this go until he figured something out, and that meant dangerous ground for all of us.
The only way to get him off my back was to do the last thing I should do: Find Malia.
