Author's Note: WOW guys we are at 60k. I haven't checked how much of that belongs to notes but this is the most I have ever written on a story. I'm proud and excited! Anyways enjoy. I love reviews. They make my day at least 10x better.

Dawn broke bright and cold the following morning. Spock folded the blanket Jim had left for him before placing it on the former captain's pack. It wasn't long before those who were asleep joined those awake in breaking camp.

Once again they set off at a brisk pace. Even for a human it was pushing it with the injured. 'What are you afraid of?' Spock thought as he watched his Captain walk ahead of the others. His eyes always scanning the area as if something would jump out at them.

By midmorning they began the climb of the mountain. Suddenly Jim stopped bring the rest of them to a halt. "Are you okay?" Nyota called from where she walked behind him.

Jim nodded. "Let's take a break. Fifteen minutes." Before anyone could say anything Jim was moving through the trees away from them. He waved to McCoy letting him know he would follow and rushed after their Captain. When he caught up Jim was leaning over gaging. Nothing appeared to have come up except for water.

"Jim." When he would not answer Spock came closer. "Captain." Finally Jim looked up at him. His eyes refocusing. "When did you eat last?"

"Doesn't matter." He pushed away from the tree his intentions clear. Spock could not allow him to keep brushing them off.

"It matters because you were chosen to lead us. If you cannot take care of yourself how can we expect you to- you can not keep doing this to yourself Jim. Your well-being is just as important as any of ours." When the captain made to move past him he grabbed his arm. "Jim don't ignore me." Dizziness, fatigue, guilt, fear- Jim pulled away from him stopping the flow of emotions. "Jim you're not alright."

"I'm fine. Look we are stuck without a way to contact for help. Limited food. We don't have our crew waiting to rescue us if something goes wrong. I don't like it. I haven't felt like eating becaude my stomach hasn't been feeling well." He glared at him. "Now can you stop hovering like a mother hen? I get that enough from Bones."

Spock watched his Captain walk away. He shook his head to clear it before following Jim back to camp. He wpuld allow him one more day. If his actions did not imporve he would force the issue. They may not be Starfleet anymore but if he wanted them to listen to him as if Jim was then he needed to start answer questions and taking care of himself.

By late afternoon they found a cave that fit what Jim asked for. Two ways in and close enough to water that they could be back at the cave in half an hour. They set up camp. The doctor checked over everyone that had been hurt in the crash.

They screamed in agony. He could not see them as they hid within the withered forest. He spun around hearing a branch snap. A girl of maybe eight stared at him. She was missing a single eye. Where it had been was a bloody mess. Clumps of her hair had fallen out. Even more stuck together in a crimson tangle. Her arms were nothing but bones as they reached for him. "Told you you couldn't run away from us. We all died here. You did too. You just don't know it yet." She tapped his chest where a human heart should be only for a massive hole to reside there. "See you died too. So join us!"

Hand reached for him. They pulled at him. No matter how hard he twisted and yanked they wouldn't let go. The ground rolled under his feet as if billions of bugs moved underneath. The earth began sucking him in. "You left us! You lied! Betrayed us!" He felt his ears began to bleed as the screaming got louder and louder. The hands pulled him under. He couldn't breath.

Spock gasped as he came to. Another dream. He felt a hand against his shoulder. He shoved the hand away before they could pull him into the ground. He paused only when he noticed it was McCoy touching him. "Doctor?"

He held his finger to his lips before pointing to their former captain. "Keep it down. He finally fell asleep. Brat doesn't think I know when he is faking it. Three days is his max before he dozes for at least an hour or two." The doctor shook his head. "You were having a nightmare. What's going on?"

Glancing at Jim he answered. "He has been awake since we crash landed?" That would explain some of his paranoid behavior. "They are just disturbing dreams. Nothing more. Likely caused from the crash." He sat up before folding himself into a lotus postion. "Have you spoken with Jim? I touched him earlier. He's afraid of something. He hasn't been eating either."

The doctor snorted. "Jim not eating? Even when he is sick he makes himself eat. You know how many times he nearly had to go on a diet because he would over eat?" Spock raised a brow. "Fine the only time he doesn't eat is the crap that happened with you and when he forst started his...shit... His medication." He covered his face. "I'm going to kill that brat! He knows he should have told me."

He opened his mouth when he heard a scratching sound. He snapped his mouth shut and glanced around. Scott was at the other end of the cave at the opening keeping watch. "Did you hear that?" Again the scrapping noise came. It echoed off the walls making it harder to pinpoint. He got to his feet and glanced around. The doctor began to awaken everyone. A high pitched scream like nothing he heard before filled the air.
