"Whew! I'm glad we've got today off!"

Okami nodded, "Seriously! I'm still exhausted from yesterday's festival!"

"It was a bunch of fun though! Being a maid was better than I thought it would be," Nikiya said, "Right Shizuku?!"

But Shizuku was curled up on the couch, too busy admiring the light gleaming off her new ring. The ruby gem perfectly matched the color of her new eyes.

"Shizuku?"

"Huh?" She looked up suddenly, embarrassed to have gotten so lost in her thoughts.

"Why's she so obsessed with that ring?" Kaito asked.

"You seriously didn't hear?!" Sen asked.

Okami and the rest of the haunted house crew looked around confused, "No… what happened?"

"Endo proposed to her!"

"For real?!" Kenichi asked.

Shizuku nodded, "For real." This earned her a bevy of congratulations and it was another thirty minutes or so before everyone finally calmed down and got back down to business as usual. Kaito went to train, Emica disappeared into her room, Will was at the remedial course, Okami didn't mention where he was going, but he also disappeared through the dorm's entrance. Eventually, it was just Shizuku and a few girls who continued to ask questions about the wedding and how he proposed, etc.

"We're probably going to have to wait some time before we can even start planning, both of us are just way too busy to work it out right now."

"So then why didn't he wait to ask you?" Hirose questioned.

"He said that even though we'd rarely get to see each other, I'd always have something to remind me that he loved me."

Sen giggled, "That's so cheesy! I love it!"

Suddenly, a cry of panic rang out and Kaito walked through the courtyard's sliding door, covered in paint. He glared at Sen, "You know this means war, right?"

But Sen was too busy rolling on the floor, holding her stomach. Daidoji looked between the two, totally confused, "What happened?"

"Sen made the log I normally hit with my daggers into an illusion and I ended up stabbing bags of paint instead." This sent the fairy girl into an even greater fit of laughter, causing Kaito to just sigh in frustration and stomp off to the showers.

With the billboard rankings over and done with, the students found themselves with an entirely free day.

Unsure of what to do with herself, Hirose went to Sen's room. During their time at the cafe the two had become good friends and if she was being honest, Hirose didn't really know who else she would even talk to.

So needless to say, the speedster was quite confused when she knocked on Sen's door, only to hear Daidoji answer.

"Come in!"

"Hey, you know this is my room right?"

"Oh… sorry. Just instinct I guess."

The two girls were sat close to each other on the bed, "What's up?"

Hirose shook her head, still unsure as to why she was so shocked upon seeing the two in a room together. It wasn't unusual to see two people in the same room. "Um… well I was kinda hoping you were up to do something. I'm bored."

"Yeah! We could all head to the mall or something!"

Daidoji perked up, "You should definitely invite Kaito along."

Hirose practically flinched back, "W-Why would I invite him?!"

"Hmm? Well, the guy's been training non-stop for a couple of weeks now, I think he needs to get out of the house."

"Oh… yeah that makes sense."

Sen hopped off her bed, pulling Daidoji with her, "You ask Kaito, we'll check with the others."

"Wait! Why am I getting stuck with him?!"

As Hirose approached Kaito's door, she could feel her heart beating faster. She held a hand over her chest and took a deep breath, "I should not be getting nervous about this." She quickly rapped her knuckles against his door, maybe hitting it a tad too hard.

Kaito threw his door open wide, exposing his half-clothed body. Hirose's face grew bright red at the sight of his six-pack, causing Kaito to tilt his head, "What?"

"Why don't you have a shirt on?!"

"I just got out of the shower," He said, puzzled as to why she would even ask that.

"But… why would you answer your door without a shirt?"

He shrugged, "You've seen me shirtless at the beach, I didn't think it was a big deal."

"R-Right."

Kaito smiled.

"What?"

"Did you want to ask me something?"

"Oh! Me and a few of the others are going to the mall, wanna come?"

Using a dagger, Kaito floated a shirt over to himself, "Sure… don't really got anything better to do." He quickly covered up before grabbing a baseball cap from his desk, not wanting to bother with his hair. "You guys leaving now?"

"As soon as the others are ready."

"Cool, let's go." Kaito stepped past the immobile Hirose before sighing and grabbing her hand to pull her along. She squeaked out a breath, causing Kaito to turn away from her in an attempt to hide his enormous grin.

In the end, only Kaito, Hirose, Sen, Daidoji, and Kenichi went to the mall, the rest had studying or some other activity planned. Normally, it would've taken a lot more effort to get off campus permission, but Ragdoll was out visiting Class 1-A and 1-B with the Wild Wild Pussycats, so she had given her class full rein for the day since she couldn't sanction anything in person. To others this may have seemed irresponsible, but to Class C it signified something very important. She trusted them.

It was a short walk to the nearest mall, which was noticeably less crowded since before All Might's retirement.

"Everyone's scared huh?"

Sen nodded, "My aunt says it was like this whenever random infectious viruses popped up. Fear really gets to people."

Of course, that wasn't to say it was empty. The mall was still pretty full, just not wall to wall like it used to be.

"So what do you guys wanna do first?" Kenichi asked.

Kaito shrugged, "I just kinda tagged along. I figured you guys had something planned."

"Uhhh," Hirose trailed off, unsure of how to explain that she literally had no plan when coming here.

"Well, that's ok," Kaito said, reading the situation, "Why don't we just go bowling or something?"

Daidoji and Kenichi quickly agreed, with Sen and Hirose adding that it sounded like fun.

"Anyone know where to go?" Sen shrugged at Daidoji's question and the five immediately began searching for a map of the mall.

Kaito crossed his arms, "I seriously don't know how we managed to lose them."

Hirose desperately tried to peek over the wave of people, but her shorter stature made it hard. Noticing that Kaito wasn't doing much to look for their compatriots she pouted at him.

"What? Do you want me to put you on my shoulders?" He teased.

Hirose didn't mention that being on top of him was precisely what she had dreamed of last night.

She shook her head, clearing the perverted thoughts, "No! But a little help would be nice!"

He nodded and took the speedster by the hand, "Don't want to get lost again."

"R-Right."

The two got a few intrigued looks, but it seemed like only Hirose was bothered by the attention. She looked up at Kaito, admiring his calm and collected attitude.

Noticing her attention, he asked, "What?"

Gathering her courage, Hirose responded with a question of her own, "Why did you change?"

"Huh?" Kaito gave her an even more confused and concerned glance.

"Up until a while ago, you only ever cared about fighting, but now… now you're so serious."

He shrugged, obviously trying to hide his discomfort, "I guess defeat just does that to someone."

"Defeat?"

"I feel like I've only lost fights since we entered the hero course." Kaito gave a self deprecating chuckle, "Shizuku beat me without much trouble and I had to rely on Nayuki to save me. Then we lost Endo and I was too injured to even go help. Miruko, Mirio, and that steel guy. It just started to feel like I could only beat the small fry… and that didn't sit well with me."

Hirose was unsure of what to say. Up until now, Kaito had felt like one of the strongest in their class, right alongside Daidoji and Okami. "You won a lot of fights before coming to UA." It wasn't a question, she had seen the scars on his chest.

"I lived on the streets of the slums. If you couldn't fight, you were dead. With my Quirk, I ended up being too good at it." He scratched the back of his neck, "I'm not the smartest, or the friendliest. I have no talents other than fighting. Until I was nine, all I knew was winning fights, I was kinda addicted to it I guess, the adrenaline."

Hirose nodded, "I know what that's like." She clenched her free hand tightly, she had never told anyone about her family before, "My mother, she could create adrenaline, like what my body does when I run. She got addicted and overdosed. But… even knowing that, I can't help but love when I run and feel that rush."

Kaito was staring at her so intently that he nearly walked into someone before smiling wide, "I guess we're all kinda messed up. Endo was born in a tube, Shizuku lost her mom, Vincent's mom is a terrorist, Okami is just now meeting his parents, Sen's mom apparently lost her mind, and my parents didn't want me."

"One big, happy, messed up family."

Kaito sucked in a deep breath, his body lightening as if a weight had been lifted, "Alright, well I don't see em' so let's just head for the bowling alley."

The five left the alleyway with grins plastered on their face, laughing hysterically, "I can't believe you did that!"

Sen smiled at what she considered praise. "He was being a dick, he deserved ten gutterballs in a row."

As Kenichi watched Sen and Daidoji laugh about the prank while Kaito and Hirose talked with each other, he sighed, "I feel like way too much of a fifth wheel right now."
