"Why do you want all the wishes, Jeiny?"
"Because no one understands me. I don't have a single real friend. Everyone here is just a machine compared to me, except you, Author-san, but we can only interact this way. I want more friends like myself. People, not just a disembodied voice."
"Well, you are of the physical plain, so it makes sense that just a voice in your head isn't enough."
"It's not fair," Jeiny says, collapsing to her knees, head bent down, and arms slack at the sides. "All I want is one friend who isn't a bigot and will treat me like an equal. Why is everyone so miserable?" She shuts her eyes briefly, then looks up at the vast nothingness. "Heh. Because the misery they inflict on others fuels them, huh?"
"I'm sorry, Jeiny. I can't give you what you want. You must keep searching. For yourself. Within yourself. Perhaps you were always meant to be alone. It would make sense that someone would be, given probability."
"Why? Why me? All I've ever wanted was to help people. Why am I so alone?"
The crying never stops.
