Natsuki stopped in the doorway. She could literally feel her eyes dilating. What was that?
Apparently, Yamori was a man of surprises.
"You like them? They fit a woman of culture. My woman."
She began to shake her head, but quickly ceased the movement. Kami-sama help her if Yamori got offended.
Well, they were lovely. It was a bouquet of double white roses with petals as bright and as delicate as lace.
"What's the occasion?" she asked.
Natsuki had barely recovered from Valentine's Day, and her skin still wore mottled scars. The mark of Yamori's bite was all but permanent. She wondered if that had been a present too.
Yamori shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe I felt like it. Or, maybe because it's White Day."
White Day. the day where men reciprocated with gifts of their own for the ladies. It surely surprised her that Yamori was that gallant, but she supposed even predators had their moments.
But, she found that Yamori was at his cruelest when he actually behaved like they were in love. Well, there were in a relationship of sorts. It was within his rights after all.
She finally turned to face him and gifted him with a smile. "Thank you very much."
He was still leering at her wild-eyed. She instinctively knew that he was waiting for something. Probably for some sort of gesture to appreciate him.
Holding her breath, she walked into his waiting arms and pressed her lips against his own. there. Quick and painless.
"You can thank me later," he promised lowly in her ear. It was reminiscent of a growl.
So, later, she might be on her knees. Well, she was used to all of this by now. Soon, they would be together for six months. Not that long, but definitely long enough.
When he left the room, she could finally breathe. Some people really were like clouds. When they left, the sun reappeared.
She studied her bouquet for a moment before she grabbed the crystal vase and brought it over to a cherry wood table. The only thought that comforted her was that Naki would adore them.
And they did smell rather nice.
A/N: I just wanted to write something for White Day because I usually forget about it year after year. ️The official chapter is coming soon though so stay tuned if interested.
