A/N: I just wanted to let you guys know that there's this amazing podcast called "The Rewatchables" and they talk about different movies and trivia and stuff. The one about Titanic is amazing and I highly recommend it!
An hour later, Jena appeared in the waiting room. "She's okay. Everything went according to plan and she's in her room. You can see her if you'd like."
"Yes please," said Rose, and she started to cry.
Jack put his arm around her. "Rosie?"
"I'm okay, I'm just relieved," Rose smiled.
"Do you feel alright?" Jack asked.
Rose smiled. "I feel fine. Let's go see our daughter."
Jack and Rose entered Josie's room. "She's still unconscious, but she should wake up any minute now," said Jena.
Rose smiled. "She looks like herself again," she said quietly. It was true; she had her coloring back, and she had a sweet smile even though she was still unconscious.
Rose sat down at the foot of Josie's bed and held her hand, and Jack sat in a chair next to Josie. "She looks so little," he said. "She seems so grown up so much of the time, but she's still our baby."
"I know," said Rose. "I remember when we had her. She was so tiny, and… breakable. I remember all of it: the first time she opened her eyes and looked at me, her first giggle, her first words, her first steps."
"All feels like yesterday, doesn't it?" Jack asked with a smile. "Even living in New York feels like yesterday. And look at us now. We've been together for seven years."
"They've been the most perfect seven years," said Rose. "You're the most perfect husband and father. And she's the most perfect daughter."
"Yes, I am," said Josie. She looked up at Rose and smiled.
"Josie, thank god," Rose kissed Josie's cheek and cried.
"Mommy?"
"She was really worried about you. She's glad you're okay, that's all," said Jack, and he kissed Josie's forehead. "We both are."
Josie looked up at Jack. "I'm sorry I yelled at you. You were only trying to help me."
"Oh, that's okay," said Jack.
Josie looked over at Rose, who was still crying. "Mommy, do you want a hug?"
Rose laughed. "Yes please," she said, and Josie scooted over so Rose could lay next to her. "How do you feel?"
"Better," said Josie. "Nothing hurts anymore, but I feel… sleepy."
"I'm sure that'll go away soon," said Jack.
Jena entered the room. "How're you feeling, kiddo?"
Josie smiled. "Tired," she said.
"That's normal. You're going to feel tired for a few hours, but tomorrow you can go home."
"Really?" Josie asked. "Can I go back to school?"
Jena sighed. "I want you to take the rest of the week off, okay? Just relax, watch movies with Mommy and Daddy, and only eat ice cream for the next four days."
"Okay," said Josie.
"I'm going to stay with you tonight, and Mommy's going to come back in the morning," said Jack.
"W-what? I couldn't possibly-" Rose stammered.
"Yes, you can," said Jack. "Today was an incredibly stressful day. You're pregnant, and you've been stressed all day. You need to go home and sleep."
Rose sighed. "How long would it take to talk you out of this?"
Jack smirked. "You can't."
"Okay then," said Rose.
"I'll give you a ride home," said Jena. She and Rose got in the car, and Rose immediately started to cry. "Are you okay?" Jena asked.
"I've just been holding this in all day, I'm sorry." Rose wiped her tears and looked at Jena. "I knew. I knew something was wrong from the moment she woke up."
"I know, Jack told me."
"And I shoved it all aside because I thought I was crazy," said Rose.
"Well, you followed your instincts and everything ended up fine," said Jena.
Rose gave Jena a hug. "Thanks," she said. "For saving my daughter. For everything."
Rose went into the house and Jena returned to the hospital. "Jack?"
Josie was asleep, and Jack was sitting next to her, watching her sleep. Tears were running down his cheeks. "I was so scared. I tried to convince Rose that she was fine."
"Jack, how could you have known? Her symptoms presented like the flu. There was no way to know unless you palpitated her abdomen."
"Rose knew. She knew that something was wrong with our child. And thank god she did."
"Yes, but everything turned out fine. Everything is totally fine." She looked at Jack. "Look, you want to play the 'what if' game?"
Jack rolled his eyes. "I don't want to play the 'what if'-"
"What if Rose hadn't insisted on calling me? She still would have had a feeling about Josie. What if she didn't have a feeling? Then Josie's symptoms would have gotten worse, until it was obvious that she needed surgery. Most of the time we don't catch an appendicitis until much later anyway. We caught it extremely early with Josie."
"Thanks," Jack said. "Thank you for looking out for her. For looking out for me. For always taking care of me since Mom and Dad died."
"Of course," said Jena. "Anything for my little brother." Jena leaned over and pinched his cheek.
"We're twins," said Jack, freeing himself from Jena's grasp. "You're twenty minutes older than me."
Jena nodded and smiled. "Damn straight."
